- Intake 1, which is open to EU and non-EU citizen applicants, runs from 2026-02-04 to 2026-03-31. Intakes 2, 3, and 4 are labelled in the official call as reserved to EU citizen applicants only.
- Akademik Koşullar
- Applicants must hold a first-cycle qualification suitable for access to a comparable second-cycle programme. The standard Italian qualifying classes are L-30 Physics under Ministerial Decree 270/04, class 25 Physics under Decree 509/99, or the previous four-year degrees in Physics or Astronomy. Applicants with a different degree may still qualify if they have obtained at least 90 CFU in the sectors INFO-01/A (INF/01), IINF-05/A (ING-INF/05), MATH-01/B to MATH-05/A (MAT/02-08), CHEM-01/A and CHEM-02/A to CHEM-06/A (CHIM/01-07), and PHYS (FIS/01-08). For foreign qualifications, the committee checks that the prior curriculum includes basic knowledge of classical and modern physics, mathematical analysis, algebra and geometry, and computing and programming. Applicants may apply before graduation, but the qualifying degree must be obtained by 2026-12-31.
- Dil Koşulları
- English proficiency at least at CEFR B2 is required. The 2026/2027 sources state that applicants can satisfy this through an accepted international certificate or by passing the programme's language test published on the degree programme website. The programme enrolment page also lists acceptable evidence such as a degree taught entirely in English, a transcript showing a CEFR B2 English exam, native-speaker status, a B2 certificate issued by a university language centre or recognised certifying body, or the Unibo CLA Oxford English test.
- Sınav / Test
- There is no separate written entrance exam. Admission depends on the committee's verification of personal competencies and skills based on the submitted documentation. The committee requires basic knowledge of mathematics, classical and modern physics including quantum physics and special relativity, chemistry, computing, and laboratory activities; if the documentation does not support admission, the candidate is not admitted.

- Qualification document for admission: the University of Bologna self-certification for Unibo applicants, self-certification of the first-cycle qualification with exams for applicants from another Italian university, or for foreign qualifications the degree copy translated into Italian or English with transcript of records and Diploma Supplement where available.
