- Applicants need a bachelor's degree, three-year university diploma, old-system five-year Italian degree, or a suitable foreign qualification that gives access to second-cycle study in the awarding country. Eligible Italian degree classes are L-9 Industrial Engineering, L-8 Information Engineering, L-7 Civil and Environmental Engineering, L-30 Physics, L-31 Computer Sciences, and L-35 Mathematics, plus equivalent former classes or equivalent foreign qualifications. Applicants who have not yet graduated may apply only if they meet the official progress thresholds for their intake: for Intake I, non-EU candidates residing abroad must have passed all courses of the years prior to the final year; for Intake II, candidates in an Italian degree must have no more than 36 ECTS outstanding excluding final exam, internships, and labs, while candidates in an equivalent foreign degree must have no more than 70% of the final-year credits or exam modules outstanding and must have passed all previous-year exams; for the possible Intake III, the limits are 12 ECTS outstanding for Italian degrees or 40% of the final-year credits or modules outstanding for equivalent foreign degrees. The access qualification must be obtained by 2026-12-31.

- English at minimum CEFR B2 is required. The call accepts certificates obtained from 2023-01-01 onward including TOEFL iBT 80, IELTS 5.5, FCE grade C, Trinity ISE II, Cambridge English Certificate Level B2, Business Vantage, a University Language Centre B2 certification or self-certification, or self-certification of passing a B2 English exam in an Italian state university programme. Applicants may alternatively satisfy the requirement through the University of Bologna CLA OOPT at B2 or above. Native speakers from the listed anglophone countries and applicants with a bachelor's degree delivered in English are exempt from separate certification.

- Admission is competitive. Candidates who meet the curricular and language requirements undergo evaluation of uploaded qualifications scored out of 100 points: up to 60 for academic merit and curriculum, and up to 40 for internationalization, application form, and alignment with the programme's educational objectives. A minimum of 60/100 is required to access the qualifying remote interview, which tests basic knowledge in mathematics, physics, and engineering. Only candidates with an Italian L-9 degree whose denomination includes 'Aerospace Engineering' are exempt from the interview. Among candidates who pass the interview, the final ranking is based on the qualification-evaluation score.

- Proof of English proficiency at level B2 or higher, or documented attestation of being a native English speaker under the call's rules.
- Copy of a valid identity document; if the applicant is a foreign citizen and the identity document has no English translation, a copy of the passport.
- Optional supporting documents: certificates or self-certificates of experience abroad, additional qualifications, and publications.
- Copy of residence permit if already held; mandatory for equivalent non-EU citizens.
- For non-EU citizens residing abroad: Universitaly pre-enrolment and study-visa request documentation.
- If requesting interview adaptations for disability or DSA: the dedicated form and supporting documentation.
