- Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree, a university diploma of at least three years, or another academic qualification obtained abroad and recognised as suitable. They qualify directly with a first-cycle degree in class L-7 Civil and Environmental Engineering, L-17 Architecture, L-23 Building Sciences, or class 4 Architectural Sciences and Building Engineering under DM 509/99. Applicants with other degrees must meet all three curricular-credit conditions: at least 18 credits in ICAR/10, ICAR/11, ICAR/12, ICAR/14, ICAR/19, ICAR/20; at least 24 credits in ICAR/01, ICAR/02, ICAR/06, ICAR/07, ICAR/08, ICAR/09, ICAR/22, ING-IND/11, IUS/10, SECS-P/02, SECS-P/06; and at least 20 credits in MAT and FIS. Foreign qualifications are assessed by the Admission Board for equivalence and relevant background in construction engineering, conservation of historic buildings, architecture and urban planning, and structural mechanics. Graduating applicants may apply with at least 165 ECTS/CFU already registered and must obtain the first-cycle degree by 2026-12-31.

- English at CEFR B2 or higher is required during the application phase. The programme page accepts internationally recognised language certificates listed in the dedicated PDF, a B2 curricular suitability certificate from the University of Bologna Language Centre or another Italian university, or a previous bachelor's degree fully delivered in English in an EU/EEA country, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, West Indies, Guyana, or Switzerland, provided English medium of instruction is stated on the transcript or certified by the issuing university. English certificates or MOI statements issued by universities outside those countries are not accepted.
- Sınav / Test
- No separate written entrance test is specified in the official notice. Admission is open access but conditional on the Admission Board's verification of personal knowledge and skills and of the curricular and language requirements. The programme page states that the Committee will set a schedule for the evaluations and publish it on the University website.

- Front and back copy of a valid identity document; if the identity document is from a foreign country and has no English translation, a copy of the passport.
- Qualification required for admission: University of Bologna self-certification, another Italian university self-certification with exams taken, SSD, CFU, and qualification class, or if not yet graduated the self-certification of exams taken with SSD and CFU.
- If the qualification was obtained abroad: copy of the qualification translated into Italian or English, transcript of records, and Diploma Supplement where available; if not yet graduated, the transcript/list of exams taken.
- English proficiency certificate at B2 level as required by the programme.
- Curriculum Vitae in European format, drafted in English on the Europass website.
- Personal statement of purpose.
- Copy of a valid residence permit, if already held.
- For non-EU citizens residing abroad: Universitaly pre-enrolment and study-visa documentation for matriculation.
