- Applicants need a first-cycle degree or equivalent foreign qualification recognized as suitable for second-cycle admission. Direct curricular eligibility applies to class L-13 Biological Sciences or L-2 Biotechnologies and the corresponding previous-system classes, plus equivalent foreign degrees. Applicants from other degree classes may still qualify if they hold at least 35 ECTS in biology-related sectors including plant physiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics, and general microbiology, and at least 18 ECTS across listed mathematics, physics, chemistry, and computer-science sectors. Applicants who have not yet graduated may apply if they have at least 140 ECTS registered, or at least 78% of their first-cycle degree completed in a non-Italian university, and they must obtain the final degree by 2026-12-31.
- Dil Koşulları
- English proficiency at CEFR B2 is required. The call accepts a certificate listed by the University Language Centre, a previous first-cycle degree English test explicitly marked B2 or higher, a degree obtained in English, or native-speaker status; if the final certificate is not yet available, an official statement of results may be uploaded. The call also states that candidates are required to know Italian at CEFR B2; however, international students who do not meet that Italian requirement may still enrol if admitted, provided they include study-plan activities aimed at reaching that level.
- Sınav / Test
- Some applicants can enrol directly: graduates in Biology or Biotechnology classes with a final mark of at least 104/110, or current students in those classes with an average mark of at least 27/30 by the application deadline, provided they also meet the English B2 requirement. All other eligible applicants undergo an oral examination in English to verify personal competencies and skills. The oral exam is scored out of 60 and is passed with at least 24 points, with at least one answer scoring 18/30 or higher.

- Front and back copy of a valid identity document; if the document has no English translation, a copy of the passport.
- Proof of the qualification required for admission: Unibo self-certification, self-certification from another Italian university with list of exams, or foreign qualification translated into Italian or English with transcript of records and Diploma Supplement where available.
- If the foreign qualification has not yet been obtained, a transcript of records showing the exams taken.
- Proof of English-language knowledge at CEFR B2 or higher.
- For non-EU students with EU-equivalent status, a copy of a valid residence permit or renewal receipt.
- For matriculation with foreign qualifications, the required qualification documents must later be uploaded in the Studenti Online call for international students with foreign qualifications.
