Applicants need a first-cycle degree or equivalent foreign qualification that gives access to a comparable second-cycle degree in the country of issue. For Italian qualifications, direct access to the selection process is granted to Group 1 classes L-1 Cultural heritage and L-37 Cooperation and peace studies. Group 2 classes (including L-14, L-15, L-16, L-18, L-33, L-36, L-39, L-40, L-41, L-42 and corresponding former classes) require at least 36 ECTS across the listed SSD areas. Group 3 classes (including L-5, L-6, L-10, L-11, L-12, L-19, L-20, L-21, L-24, L-25, L-32, L-43 and corresponding former classes) require 36 ECTS split into 18 ECTS from the first listed group of subjects and 18 ECTS from the second listed group. Foreign qualifications are assessed for comparability on the basis of the academic documentation provided. Graduating students may apply; if enrolled in an Italian first-cycle degree they must have at least 150 ECTS by the intake deadline, and in all cases the degree must be completed by 31 Aralık 2026.

English at CEFR B2 is mandatory. The requirement can be met with one of the programme's listed certificates (including IELTS Academic 5.5-7.0, Aptis ESOL General/Advanced B2, Cambridge B2 First, TOEFL iBT 72-94, PTE Academic 59+, Pearson English International Certificate B2, Trinity ISE II, Oxford Test of English B2, LanguageCert International ESOL B2, or Gatehouse Award Classic B2), with a B2 certificate issued by a university language centre, with a full higher-education qualification taught in English certified by the issuing institution, or through nationality from an English-speaking country. Italian is not required for admission, although the programme website notes that basic Italian is useful because one elective activity in year two is held in Italian.

There is no capped written entrance test. The I-CONTACT Evaluation Committee checks curricular requirements and then evaluates the application on a 100-point scale based on academic background (0-40), certified study periods abroad (0-16), and additional experiences or extracurricular activities aligned with the programme (0-44). Applicants scoring 70/100 or higher are admitted. Applicants with 60-69 points may be invited to an online interview via Skype or Microsoft Teams; below 60 points the application is not admitted.

• Front and back copy of a valid identity document; if the document is not in English, a copy of the passport.

• Qualification required for admission: Unibo self-certification, self-certification from another Italian university, or foreign degree document translated into Italian or English with transcript of records and Diploma Supplement where available.
