- Applicants need a five-year upper secondary-school qualification valid for university admission in Italy, or another recognized foreign qualification. The qualification may be completed by 2026-12-31. Admission requirements differ by curriculum in 2026/27: the Bio-demografico and Economia e impresa curricula use the programme-level TOLC-E call, while the English-taught Stats and Maths curriculum uses a separate SAT-based call. In the TOLC-E call, candidates need at least 12/36 in the first and second selections to enter the ranking; the extraordinary selection, if opened, has no minimum score. In the Stats and Maths call, there is no minimum SAT score to enter the ranking.

- Language requirements differ by curriculum. For the Italian-taught Bio-demografico and Economia e impresa curricula, candidates must meet the University of Bologna Italian-language requirement and the English section included in the TOLC-E is used as self-assessment only. For the English-taught Stats and Maths curriculum, a good level of English equal to at least CEFR B1 is required and is verified during the SAT-based admission process, which is entirely in English.

- The programme has curriculum-specific admission tests in 2026/27. The Bio-demografico and Economia e impresa curricula use TOLC-E; candidates need at least 12/36 to enter the ranking in the first and second selections, while the extraordinary selection has no minimum score. The English-taught Stats and Maths curriculum uses the SAT; there is no minimum SAT score to enter the ranking, and English knowledge at B1 level is verified during the test process.

- Programme code 6661 uses different official admission procedures by curriculum in 2026/27. The programme page lists the degree overall as 'Restricted access - TOLC-E (160 places available)', the Italian call covers the Bio-demografico and Economia e impresa curricula with 120 places, and the separate English Stats and Maths call uses SAT with 40 places.
