For the official 2026/2027 admissions notice available for the Italian Studies curriculum, applicants must hold a first-cycle degree or equivalent foreign qualification. The standard Italian access class is L-10. Applicants from classes L-3, L-5, L-11 or L-42 may also apply, but they must have at least 27 ECTS in the areas L-FIL-LET/10 Italian Literature, L-FIL-LET/11 Contemporary Italian Literature and L-FIL-LET/12 Italian Linguistics. Foreign qualifications are assessed by the committee for correspondence with the Italian qualification. Applicants who have not yet graduated may apply if they already have at least 150 CFU and must obtain the degree by 31 Aralık 2026.

A.Y. 2026/27 (Italian Studies curriculum). English at least at CEFR level B2, fulfilled at application by uploading one of the following. (a) A recognised certificate obtained from 1 January 2023 onwards: Cambridge English FCE (B2) or CAE (C1); Trinity College London ISE 2 (B2) or ISE 3 (C1); IELTS at least 5.5 (B2 band 5.5-7.0); TOEFL iBT at least 72 (B2 band 72-94); PTE Academic from GSE 50; Pearson English International Certificate B2, C1 or C2; Oxford Test of English B2; LanguageCert International ESOL B2, C1 or C2; Gatehouse Award Classic B2, C1 or C2; British Council Aptis ESOL General B2 or Advanced B2, C1 or C2; or a self-certification of an English B2 (or higher) test passed in a previous career at the University of Bologna Language Centre (CLA) or at another Italian university language centre. (b) Alternatively: a self-declaration of being a native English speaker (form on the programme page); a Bachelor's or Master's degree with English as the medium of instruction; or a list of passed exams with at least 6 CFU in L-LIN/11 (Anglo-American languages and literatures) or L-LIN/12 (Language and translation - English). Applicants who take part in more than one intake must upload the certificate in every application. The Italian Studies call sets no Italian-language requirement.

Sınav / değerlendirme

The programme is open access for the Italian Studies curriculum, but admission still requires verification of adequate personal competencies and skills. If the applicant meets the curricular and language requirements, the committee may invite them to an online interview. The interview lasts about 15 minutes, is conducted remotely in English, and assesses personal competencies and skills in humanities and Italian culture. Applicants who fail this verification cannot register and cannot reapply in a later intake of the same notice.

• Front and back copy of a valid identity document; if the applicant is a foreign citizen and the ID has no English translation, a copy of the passport.

• Qualification required for admission: for University of Bologna graduates, the relevant self-certification; for applicants from another Italian university, self-certification of the first-cycle qualification with the list of exams; for foreign qualifications, the degree certificate translated into Italian or English with transcript of records and Diploma Supplement where available, or the transcript if the degree has not yet been awarded.

• Proof of English language competence at at least B2 level, through one of the accepted forms listed in the notice.

• If applicable, a copy of a valid residence permit.

• If applicable, the form and supporting documentation for admission-test adaptations.

• Curriculum vitae in English, if the applicant wishes to upload it for information.
