Applicants must hold a first-cycle degree or another qualification obtained abroad that is recognised as suitable for second-cycle admission in Italy. Curricular eligibility is met either with a first-cycle degree in class L-42 History (or equivalent under the previous system) or with another degree plus at least 30 ECTS in the subject groups listed in the official notice, covering the programme's historical, geographical, anthropological, political, sociological, philosophical, and area-studies fields. Applicants who have not yet graduated may apply only if they still need to complete the final examination, have a weighted average of at least 27.14/30, and obtain the degree by 31 Aralık 2026.

A.Y. 2026/27: English at CEFR B2 or higher, proved at the application stage (applicants to more than one intake upload the certificate with each application). Accepted proofs: (1) a recognised certificate issued from 1 January 2023, from the list on the programme's language-certificate page https://corsi.unibo.it/2cycle/GlobalCultures/language-certificate (for B2: Cambridge FCE; IELTS 5.5-7.0; TOEFL iBT 72-94; PTE Academic from GSE 50, the PTE Academic Online test is not accepted; Trinity ISE II with all four modules; Oxford Test of English B2; LanguageCert International ESOL B2; Gatehouse Award Classic B2; British Council Aptis ESOL B2; Pearson English International Certificate B2; or a self-certification of an English B2 pass at the University of Bologna Language Centre (CLA) or another Italian university language centre); (2) a self-declaration of native English speaker (form on the same page); (3) a certificate stating that the bachelor's or master's degree was taught in English as the medium of instruction. There is no 'Annex 1' in the 2026/27 call. No Italian-language requirement is stated.

Sınav / değerlendirme

There is no written entrance exam. Admission requires verification of personal competencies and skills. For candidates with an Italian qualification, this requirement is automatically satisfied with a final grade of at least 100/110; for graduating applicants, it is satisfied with a weighted average of at least 27.14/30. Candidates with a recognised foreign qualification may be called to an online interview in English on Microsoft Teams.

• Front and back copy of a valid identity document; citizens of a foreign country whose identity document has no English translation upload a copy of their passport

• University of Bologna graduates or graduating students: the self-certification of the Unibo career proposed by Studenti Online (or a document certifying the qualification)

• Graduates of another Italian university: self-certification of the first-cycle degree with the list of exams taken; graduating students: self-certification of the complete transcript of exams with the weighted grade point average
