For adequacy of prior preparation, graduates with an Italian first-cycle degree must either have at least 27 CFU in ING-IND/24, ING-IND/25, ING-IND/26, and ING-IND/27 or a graduation mark of at least 100/110. Graduating students must have at least 165 ECTS with marks and a CPGA of at least 27/30; the 2026/2027 admission notice requires the bachelor's degree by 2026-12-31, while the programme how-to-enrol page still shows 2025 in one sentence [uncertain].

- English at CEFR B2 or higher. The programme page accepts a CLA/idoneita test from the University of Bologna or another Italian university language centre, or an international B2 certificate such as IELTS 5.5, TOEFL PBT 507-557, TOEFL CBT 180-217, TOEFL iBT 80-99, Cambridge First Certificate (FCE), or Trinity ISE II. The requirement is also considered met for applicants holding a university degree fully taught in English lasting at least 2 academic years (120 ECTS) in an EU/EEA country or in Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Canada, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, New Zealand, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, the United Kingdom, or the United States, provided the transcript clearly states English as the medium of instruction.

- No written entrance exam is specified. Admission is based on committee assessment of the submitted documentation and verification of personal competencies and skills. The programme page states that adequacy of prior preparation is met by the listed CFU or graduation-mark thresholds for Italian degrees, while foreign-degree holders are assessed case by case.

- The official 2026/2027 admission notice found on Unibo-hosted pages names code 6706 only as the curriculum 'Sustainable Technologies and Biotechnologies for Energy and Materials'. The 2026/2027 programme overview lists two additional curricula in Italian, so the published intake deadlines may not describe every curriculum in the programme.
- The programme how-to-enrol page is live for 2026/2027 but still contains one outdated sentence saying graduating students must obtain the undergraduate degree by December 31st, 2025. The 2026/2027 admission notice was used for the year-specific final graduation deadline instead.
- The tuition field uses the central Unibo fees page because the programme pages delegate fee amounts and exemptions to the university-wide fees service.
