Applicants must hold one of the following: a five-year upper-secondary diploma; a four-year specialist diploma under the Italian experimental pathways; a five-year diploma from a school without a supplementary year, in which case additional learning requirements must be completed at the University of Bologna by 31 Mart 2028; or a foreign qualification obtained after at least twelve years of schooling that gives access to university in the issuing country. Applicants may apply before obtaining the final diploma, but it must be obtained by 31 Aralık 2026.

Good English proficiency at least at CEFR B2 is required. The 2026/2027 call states that candidates are considered to have met the language requirement by taking the SAT, because the SAT is held in English.

Sınav / değerlendirme

Admission is based on the SAT General Test in English. The University of Bologna must receive the official SAT score by the intake deadline, and candidates must ask College Board to send the score report to code 6993. Ranking is in descending order based solely on the SAT score; no minimum score is required, and ties are broken in favour of the younger candidate.

• A.Y. 2026/27 application on Studenti Online: non-EU citizens residing abroad upload a copy of the passport; Italian, EU and non-EU citizens with equivalent status upload a copy of the ID card or passport, plus (EU-equivalent status only) a copy of a valid residence permit or of the renewal receipt.

• Payment of the EUR 20 application fee (PagoPA).

• Official SAT score report sent by the College Board to the University of Bologna (code 6993) by the intake deadline; no other way of sending scores is accepted.

• After admission, for a foreign qualification: upload of the qualification documents in the Studenti Online call 'Enrolment a.y. 26_27 - international students and students with qualifications obtained abroad documents upload' (non-EU residing abroad also a copy of the study visa; EU-equivalent also the residence permit), then presentation of the originals at the student office.

• Visa applicants: Universitaly pre-enrolment summary validated by the University of Bologna, proof of economic resources, any language-requirement certificate, health insurance, and the qualification for translation/legalisation where required, as requested by the Embassy or Consulate.
