- Applicants must hold a first-cycle degree in Physics under Italian class L-30, the previous class 25 Physics, or an old-system degree in Physics or Astronomy, or an equivalent foreign qualification in the field of physics. For foreign qualifications, the Committee assesses equivalence on the basis of curricular contents, which must include exams ensuring basic knowledge of mathematics, particularly algebra, geometry, differential and integral calculus; fundamental knowledge of phenomenology and classical and modern physics models; and laboratory competencies including basic instrumentation, measurements, data processing, and use of IT tools. The graduation grade must be equal to or higher than B, typically awarded to the best 35% of students in a year according to the ECTS system.
