Kampüs

VERIFIED — MONTE SANT'ANGELO CAMPUS. This resolves the research brief's "campus: to be verified". PRIMARY SEAT: Dipartimento di Fisica "Ettore Pancini", Complesso Universitario di Monte Sant'Angelo, Via Cinthia 21, Edificio 6, 80126 Napoli. Two independent official confirmations: (a) the orientation portal "Directions" field reads verbatim "Seat: Dipartimento di Fisica 'Ettore Pancini', Complesso Universitario di Monte Sant'Angelo, Via Cinthia, 21, Edificio 6. 80126 Napoli"; (b) the official programme leaflet published on orientamento.unina.it repeats the identical address, and the Department of Physics site footer gives "Dipartimento di Fisica - Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II - Complesso Universitario di Monte Sant'Angelo - Via Cinthia, 21 - 80126 - Napoli". IT IS THEREFORE NOT Policlinico, Portici, San Giovanni a Teduccio, Frullone, Agnano or Piazzale Tecchio. LECTURES: "Lessons will take place in classrooms in Monte S. Angelo." TWO-SITE LABORATORY TEACHING: "Lab activities will take place both at the Dipartimento di Fisica E.Pancini and at the Dipartimento di Ingegneria Elettrica e delle Tecnologie dell'Informazione" — DIETI's teaching buildings are on the Fuorigrotta / Via Claudio 21 site (about 6-7 km from Monte Sant'Angelo), so students should expect to travel between Monte Sant'Angelo and Via Claudio for the engineering laboratory modules (Microwave Circuits and Technologies, Digital Electronics for Quantum Applications, Quantum circuit electrodynamics and Quantum devices, Advanced Quantum Communication Networks and similar DIETI-taught courses). Students will also work with "i processori quantistici della Federico II presenti presso il Dipartimento di Fisica E. Pancini" (Federico II's own quantum processors, housed at the Department of Physics). ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICES: enrolment/student records go through the "Segreteria Studenti Area didattica di Scienze" (MM.FF.NN. student office), Complesso Universitario di Monte Sant'Angelo, Via Cintia — tel. 081 676550 / 081 676544, segrmmff@unina.it; the Department's own teaching secretariat is Nicola Miranda, Room 0M06, tel. 081 676874, segrdid.fisica@unina.it. Note that the leaflet also prints a legacy INFN mailbox (segrdid@na.infn.it) for the same office — use segrdid.fisica@unina.it.

OPEN ACCESS (Italian "accesso libero") WITH A MANDATORY CURRICULAR-CREDIT CHECK AND A DISCRETIONARY ORAL INTERVIEW. The orientation portal fact-sheet header records "Admission: Libero" and "Degree required: Laurea I Livello". There is NO numerus clausus published, NO national programmed access (L. 264/1999 does not apply to this class), NO ranked competition and NO written admission test. What exists instead is a documentary eligibility assessment run by the CCD (Commissione di Coordinamento Didattico / Didactic Coordination Commission), governed by Art. 5 of the Didactic Regulations: "The CCD of the Degree Program normally regulates the admission criteria and any scheduling of enrolments, except in cases subject to different provisions of law. Admission will be based primarily on the analysis of the candidates' university career, i.e. the overall average, the average in the SSDs listed in the previous section and the grades reported in the individual exams; where deemed necessary, an oral interview may be used to complete the assessment for admission purposes." So the process is: (1) hard curricular CFU thresholds must be met (24 Math + 12 Physics + 6 Computer Science + 12 additional CFU, see academic_requirements); (2) the CCD then evaluates the overall GPA, the GPA in the listed SSDs, and individual exam grades; (3) an ORAL INTERVIEW may be added at the Commission's discretion. THREE PRACTICAL ROUTES: (a) ITALIAN AND EU CANDIDATES (and non-EU candidates already legally resident in Italy/EU, who are treated as EU-equivalent) — send academic documents directly to the Coordinator, then enrol through the University calendar; "you have to send your academic documents to the Coordinator of the course you wish to enrol in to find out whether you meet the enrolment requirements" (international.unina.it). (b) NON-EU CANDIDATES RESIDING ABROAD — obtain a pre-acceptance letter from Coordinator Prof. Francesco Tafuri, then pre-enrol on the ministerial UNIVERSITALY portal by the annual deadline, then apply for a study visa, then matriculate in Naples. (c) HOLDERS OF A PRIOR MASTER'S DEGREE in Physics, Electronic Engineering or similar — an accelerated 60-CFU path is available. IMPORTANT: the University warns repeatedly that none of these steps is a rubber stamp — "Pre-enrolment alone does not grant admission to degree programmes. Applicants must meet all academic and admission requirements", "The issuance of a visa does not automatically guarantee enrolment at the University", and "Enrolment is subject to verification of documents and admission requirements by the University even if students have obtained visa, travelled to Italy and hold a scholarship". Because the course is accesso libero, NO bando di ammissione (admission call) is published for it — see official_call_url. Applicants also have a competitive scholarship route: QUANTUM SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING is one of the degrees listed in Table A of the University's "Study in Naples" international scholarship call (see tuition_or_fees_link).

Resmî Eğitim Dili

ENGLISH — 100% English-taught, and this is stated more unambiguously than for most Federico II international degrees. EVIDENCE: (1) the orientation portal fact-sheet header records "Language ENG" (single value, not the ITA/ENG bilingual marker used for mixed courses in the same catalogue); (2) the binding Didactic Regulations record, under the SUA-CdS General CdS Information framework, the single line "Teaching language English"; (3) the orientation portal text states "All courses will be hold in English and experimental courses will take place in top class labs available at UNINA and in international companies collaborating with UNINA"; (4) the Department of Physics page states it is "una laurea magistrale a carattere internazionale interamente erogata in lingua inglese" (an internationally-oriented master's degree entirely delivered in English); (5) the University's own International course catalogue lists it as "Quantum Science and Engineering – ENG"; (6) the thesis and the final presentation must both be in English — "The final exam consists in the evaluation of a paper written in English... The presentation must last between 20 and 25 minutes and must be conducted in English." Every course title in both the standard study plan and the full List A elective table is published in English. SINGLE CAVEAT — THE SECOND-YEAR FREE-CHOICE SLOTS (12 CFU in semester I + 6 CFU in semester II, 18 CFU total, TAF D "a scelta dello studente") ARE NOT LANGUAGE-GUARANTEED. The Department of Physics page states: "Nota 1: Lo studente può scegliere qualsiasi insegnamento offerto dall'Ateneo" (the student may choose ANY course offered by the University), and the orientation portal repeats "Students can select whatever course given at UNINA." The suggested pool — "courses given in the following Master Degrees programs: Physics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Communication and Digital Media Engineering" — includes several Italian-taught Federico II degrees. So a student who cannot follow Italian must deliberately pick English-delivered courses for those 18 CFU (in practice the easiest route is to take further List A electives, which are all English, or courses from the English-taught LM Data Science / LM Physics offer). Confirm the delivery language of each free-choice course with the coordinator before locking the study plan. NO ITALIAN-LANGUAGE GRADUATION REQUIREMENT WAS FOUND: unlike the Federico II LM in Data Science, no unina.it page for QS&E ties the 3-CFU "ulteriori attività formative" slot to an Italian-language certificate. The Note 2 wording is neutral: "Lo studente può utilizzare questi CFU per acquisire ulteriori conoscenze linguistiche, ovvero abilità informatiche e telematiche, per tirocini formativi e di orientamento" — additional LANGUAGE knowledge is one permitted option among several (IT skills, internships, thesis-preparation activities), not a mandate, and the qse.unina.it English version says the student "may also make use of the CFUs to improve his/her linguistic or informatic skils, attend internships or any learning experience needed for the completion of the final examination and Thesis such as: study a software, programming language, a language and so on." So no Italian is required at admission OR at graduation.

THERE IS NO PROGRAMME-SPECIFIC APPLICATION DEADLINE FOR EU (AND EU-EQUIVALENT) CANDIDATES, because Quantum Science and Engineering is open-access: EU applicants do not compete in a call, they have their qualification checked by the Coordinator and then enrol inside the University's annual calendar. THREE DATE SETS APPLY. (A) QUALIFICATION EVALUATION BY THE COORDINATOR — no fixed date: "you have to send your academic documents to the Coordinator of the course you wish to enrol in to find out whether you meet the enrolment requirements" (international.unina.it). Because Art. 5 allows the CCD to add an oral interview, start this months before you intend to enrol. Send to francesco.tafuri@unina.it, copying segrdid.fisica@unina.it. (B) UNIVERSITY ENROLMENT CALENDAR FOR A.Y. 2026/2027, from the binding 'Guida all'iscrizione Anno accademico 2026-27', which governs Italian, EU and EU-equivalent students alike: — 16 Temmuz 2026: ordinary immatriculation period opens ("16 LUGLIO 2026 - Inizio periodo ordinario immatricolazione"; the instalment table specifies "Dal 16 luglio (immatricolazioni L o iscrizioni I anno LM)", i.e. first-year master's enrolments open on this date); — 1 Eylül 2026: ordinary period opens for transfers and course changes (passaggi e trasferimenti); — 2 Kasım 2026: ORDINARY DEADLINE for immatriculation and re-enrolment, and the deadline for the automatic ISEEU income data retrieval from INPS; — 3 Kasım 2026: extraordinary (late) period opens; — 15 Ocak 2027: last date to enrol late with a EUR 50 surcharge; — 16 Ocak 2027: the late surcharge rises to EUR 110; — 1 Mart 2027: 2nd fee instalment due; — 30 Nisan 2027: 3rd fee instalment due; — 31 Mart 2027: ABSOLUTE FINAL DEADLINE for first-year enrolment in a two-year master's — "Le iscrizioni al primo anno dei corsi di laurea magistrali potranno essere effettuate entro il 31 marzo 2027", with the condition that anyone enrolling after 31 Aralık 2026 may be required by the course's CCD to first earn between 6 and 12 CFU via single course units (those single-course fees are refunded if the master's enrolment is then completed by 31 March 2027). (C) TEACHING CALENDAR: the academic year is split into two semesters, September-January and March-June, with exam sessions in January-February, June-July and September; degree (graduation) sessions are held every month except April and August. CONFLICT BETWEEN TWO OFFICIAL UNINA.IT PAGES ON THE ENROLMENT WINDOW: the QS&E fact sheet on orientamento.unina.it states "Enrollment and inscriptions take usually place every year in a period ranging from September 1st and October 31 according to specific regulations", while the binding University guide for 2026/27 opens the window on 16 July 2026 and closes the ordinary period on 2 November 2026. The University guide is the authoritative and current document; the orientation portal text appears to be legacy wording carried over from earlier years (the fact sheet itself is stamped "Aggiornata a.a. 2025/2026"). PRACTICAL ADVICE: obtain the Coordinator's confirmation of eligibility in spring, enrol between 16 July and the start of teaching in September 2026, treat 2 November 2026 as the real deadline, and 31 March 2027 as an emergency fallback that costs you the whole first semester (a serious problem in this programme, whose second-semester courses are gated by first-semester propedeuticità: Quantum Computation requires FQM, Applied Quantum Systems requires FQM + MCT + DEQA).

For NON-EU applicants RESIDING ABROAD there is a hard, ministry-driven three-date pipeline for a.y. 2026/2027, published by the University in its official booklet 'Information for non-EU students with residency abroad' and mirrored on international.unina.it: — 15 Haziran 2026: PRE-ENROLMENT APPLICATION DEADLINE on the UNIVERSITALY portal, naming Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II and the Quantum Science and Engineering programme. Verbatim: "JUNE 15 2026 — Pre-enrolment application deadline to University of Naples Federico II. After this date no programme changes are permitted. After this date pre-enrolment is allowed to the programmes with restricted access only." THIS IS THE OPERATIVE DEADLINE FOR THIS PROGRAMME: because QS&E is open-access (not restricted access), non-EU pre-enrolment closes on 15 June and does not reopen. — 30 Kasım 2026: deadline for lodging the study-visa application at the Italian Embassy/Consulate ("NOV 30 2026 — Deadline for submitting the visa application at Italian Embassies/Consulates"). — 31 Ocak 2027: deadline for completing enrolment (matriculation) in Naples — "JAN 31 2027 — Deadline for completing enrolment at University of Naples Federico II. After this date students who are not officially enrolled according to ministerial regulations will have their visa revoked, and Italian police authorities will be notified." (The same booklet's Matriculation page mistypes this as "31 January 2026"; the Deadlines page and the ministerial rule both give 31 January 2027 — see uncertainty_notes.) SEQUENCING ADVICE FROM THE UNIVERSITY: "It is advisable to obtain the admission to your chosen programme before applying on Universitaly. Otherwise, if you have already submitted your pre-enrolment application on Universitaly, a dedicated team will forward your documents for evaluation. In this case, processing times may be longer." So write to Coordinator Prof. Francesco Tafuri for the pre-acceptance letter well before 15 June — and allow extra time here, because Art. 5 permits the CCD to require an oral interview. The University also confirms that "The University will validate your application once the course coordinator has issued your pre-acceptance letter." WARNINGS THE UNIVERSITY PRINTS IN BOLD: "Pre-enrolment alone does not grant admission to degree programmes. Applicants must meet all academic and admission requirements"; "Pre-enrolment does not guarantee an appointment at the Embassy"; "Pre-admission to the University does not guarantee the issuance of a visa, which is the sole responsibility of the Embassy or Consulate"; "The issuance of a visa does not automatically guarantee enrolment at the University"; "Enrolment is subject to verification of documents and admission requirements by the University even if students have obtained visa, travelled to Italy and hold a scholarship (if applicable)." AFTER ARRIVAL: "Once you have travelled to Italy, you must apply for a permit of stay for study purposes within 8 days from your arrival", and "WARNING: do not withdraw (rinuncia agli studi) from your studies under any circumstances. If you withdraw, your residence permit will become invalid and you will need to apply for a new entry visa to Italy." NON-EU APPLICANTS ALREADY LEGALLY RESIDENT IN ITALY OR THE EU ARE TREATED AS EU-EQUIVALENT — they "have unrestricted access to university courses", do NOT pre-enrol on Universitaly, present documents directly to the Coordinator, and follow the EU enrolment calendar in application_deadline_eu instead. The booklet also treats as EU-equivalent a non-EU national holding an Italian study permit who is already enrolled in an Italian degree programme and wishes to change programme or transfer, who has completed a Foundation Year in Italy, or who is enrolled in a single course and has passed its final exam. TIMING NOTE FOR ANYONE READING THIS RECORD: the 15 June 2026 pre-enrolment deadline for a.y. 2026/2027 HAS ALREADY PASSED as of the research date 30 Ağustos 2026, so a non-EU applicant abroad must now target a.y. 2027/2028 and re-check the corresponding dates when the new booklet is published (expect roughly the same mid-June / end-November / end-January pattern).

Kabul koşulları

Akademik geçmiş
  • Seats (total): NO SEAT CAP PUBLISHED — the programme is accesso libero ("Admission: Libero" on the orientation portal fact sheet), there is no numero programmato designation, no bando di ammissione, no ranking list and no published number of places on any unina.it page. this is a null reported rather than a verified number, and there is one ambiguous sentence that must be flagged: Didactic Regulations Art. 5 says admission serves "the objectives of planning the number of enrollees" (Italian: "nonché agli obiettivi di programmazione del numero degli iscritti"), and Art. 5 also empowers the CCD to regulate "any scheduling of enrolments" ("l'eventuale programmazione delle iscrizioni"). That is standard Federico II regulation-template wording granting the CCD a reserve power to cap intake; it is NOT a declaration that a cap currently exists, and no cap figure has ever been published for QS&E. The footnote attached to it refers only to nationally programmed access ("National programmed access is regulated by L. 264/1999"), which does not cover LM-44. PRACTICAL CONSEQUENCE FOR APPLICANTS: there is no competitive cut-off to beat and no risk of being ranked out; the gates are the 54 CFU curricular thresholds, the CCD's grade assessment, the possible oral interview and — for non-EU applicants abroad — the visa/pre-enrolment pipeline. Because the programme is laboratory-intensive and uses Federico II's own quantum processors, physical lab capacity is a real (if unpublished) constraint; if intake numbers matter to your planning, ask segrdid.fisica@unina.it for the enrolled-cohort size. CAUTION: a figure of "230 places" circulates in some search-engine summaries of Federico II's 2022/23 new-courses coverage; it does NOT appear in any unina.it source for this programme and should be treated as false. | Seats (non-EU reserved): NONE PUBLISHED — because the course has no seat cap, no reserved sub-quota for non-EU applicants residing abroad appears on any unina.it page. Where Federico II does reserve non-EU seats it states them numerically in the course's bando di ammissione; no bando exists for Quantum Science and Engineering. with one structural caveat: Italian universities must still declare an annual contingent of visa places for non-EU students on the ministerial UNIVERSITALY portal even for open-access courses, and that per-course figure is published on universitaly.it, not on unina.it, so it could not be verified within the unina.it-only source restriction imposed by this research task. (The 'Scheda Universitaly' link printed on the Department of Physics course page is stale — it points to a 2017 course record, id 1539021, which predates this programme by five years; do not use it.) WHAT UNINA.IT DOES SAY IS A DATE-BASED CONSTRAINT RATHER THAN A NUMERIC QUOTA: after the annual pre-enrolment deadline (15 June 2026 for a.y. 2026/27), "pre-enrolment is allowed to the programmes with restricted access only" — so an open-access programme like QS&E simply stops accepting new non-EU pre-enrolments after that date and does not reopen. Applicants should check the Quantum Science and Engineering entry for Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II on universitaly.it for the current academic year, or write to the Coordinator (francesco.tafuri@unina.it) and the teaching secretariat (segrdid.fisica@unina.it).
  • A first-cycle degree (Laurea triennale / Bachelor of Science of three or more years) OR AN EQUIVALENT TITLE, WITH FOUR HARD CURRICULAR-CREDIT THRESHOLDS THAT MUST ALL BE SATISFIED. Verbatim from the official Didactic Regulations, Art. 4 (identical text on orientamento.unina.it, qse.unina.it/enrollment and the official leaflet): "In order to be admitted to the master's degree program in Quantum Science and Engineering it is necessary to already have a Laurea di I livello or equivalent, that is, a Bachelor of Science degree of three or more years. The curriculum needs to fulfil the following requirements: • 24 CFU of classes in SSD of Mathematics (MAT/01-MAT/08), corresponding to a total of 192 course hours. • 12 CFU of classes in SSD of Physics (FIS/01-FIS/08), corresponding to a total of 96 course hours. • 6 CFU of classes in SSD of Computer Science (INF/01 or ING-INF/05), corresponding to a total of 48 course hours. • Additional 12 CFU in any of the following SSD: FIS/01-FIS/08 - Physics; MAT/07 - Mathematical Physics; CHIM/01 - Analytical Chemistry, CHIM/02 - Physical Chemistry, CHIM/03 - General and Inorganic Chemistry, ING-IND/06 - Fluidodynamics; ING-IND/10 - Industrial Technical Physics; ING-IND/11 Environmental Technical Physics, ING-IND/12 - Mechanical and Thermal Measurements; ING-IND/13 - Applied Mechanics to Machines; ING-IND/18 - Physics of Nuclear Reactors; ING-IND/19 Nuclear Plants; ING-IND/20 - Nuclear measurements and instrumentations; ING-IND/22 - Materials Science and Technology; ING-IND/31 - Electrotechnics; ING-INF/01 - Electronics; ING-INF/02 - Electromagnetic Fields; ING-INF/06 - Electronic and Informatic Bioengineering; ING-INF/07 - Electric and electronic measurements." TOTAL: 54 CFU of prescribed coursework. NOTE THE HOUR EQUIVALENCE — the regulations convert CFU into contact hours (24 CFU = 192 hours, 12 CFU = 96 hours, 6 CFU = 48 hours), which is what a foreign applicant whose transcript is expressed in ECTS, credit-hours or contact hours should use for the comparison. WHAT THE THRESHOLDS ARE MEANT TO PROVE (official gloss, Art. 4): "The 24 CFU in SSD MAT/01-MAT/08 prove mathematical knowledge at the level typically given in physics or informatic engineering degrees: real analysis, linear algebra, geometry, functional analysis and differential equations. The 12 CFU in SSD FIS/01-FIS/08 prove knowledge of classical physics at the level typically given in the degrees of informatic engineering: mechanics, thermodynamics, electromagnetism. The 6 CFU in INF/01 or ING-INF/05 prove knowledge on basic elements of computer science at the level typically given in the degrees of information engineering or physics." Altri potenziali interessati sarebbero laureati in altre discipline scientifiche o tecnologiche" — i.e. BSc Physics or any information-engineering BSc (electronic, computer, telecommunications) are the core intake; other science/technology BScs are welcome if the credit thresholds are met. A PURE COMPUTER-SCIENCE BSc IS THE RISKIEST PROFILE, because it will usually clear the 6 CFU computing threshold easily but may fall short on the 24 CFU of MAT/01-MAT/08 and especially on the 12 CFU of classical physics. QUALITATIVE ASSESSMENT ON TOP OF THE THRESHOLDS (Art. 5): the CCD weighs "the overall average, the average in the SSDs listed in the previous section and the grades reported in the individual exams", so grades matter even though no numeric minimum GPA is published. NO MINIMUM BACHELOR GRADE IS PUBLISHED anywhere on unina.it for this programme (contrast the Federico II LM in Data Science, which publishes a 7.0-7.5/10 threshold). Do not assume there is none in practice — ask the Coordinator. ACCELERATED 60-CFU PATH FOR SECOND-MASTER'S HOLDERS: "Apart from the standard above mentioned study plan, special study programs for a total 60 CFU are available for students who have already achieved a Master Degree in Physics, Electronic Engineering, and so on. Details are available in the extended Guide and in the regulations of the QS&E" (orientamento.unina.it); the Italian department page confirms "laureati magistrali in fisica o ingegneria che vogliano acquisire una seconda laurea magistrale (per i quali è previsto un percorso accelerato)". the exact composition of that 60-CFU path is NOT published on any unina.it page I could locate — the referenced "extended Guide" is not linked from the course pages; request it from segrdid.fisica@unina.it. CREDIT RECOGNITION LIMITS (Didactic Regulations, Art. 13-14): full recognition is guaranteed for credits from degree programmes in the same class (LM-44), and never less than 50% of the credits previously earned in the same SSD; credits from single course units ("corsi singoli") are recognised "within the limit of 36 CFU, upon request of the interested party and following the approval of the CCD"; extra-curricular professional/certified skills may be recognised within a limit of 12 CFU. ATTENDANCE: "In general, attendance of lectures is strongly recommended but not compulsory", but "Attendance at seminar activities that award training credits is compulsory". LATE-ENROLMENT CFU CONDITION: under the University's binding 2026/27 enrolment guide, a student enrolling in a two-year master's after 31 December 2026 may be required by the CCD to first acquire between 6 and 12 CFU through single course units.

ENGLISH CEFR B2 OR HIGHER — a hard, explicitly stated admission requirement, listed as the fifth admission condition alongside the four credit thresholds. Verbatim, Didactic Regulations Art. 4 (and identically on orientamento.unina.it, qse.unina.it/enrollment and the official leaflet): "Finally, it is required a knowledge of English language at the CEFR level at least B2." The orientation portal's compressed version reads simply "English level B2 is also required." THE OFFICIAL SOURCES DO NOT SPECIFY HOW B2 MUST BE EVIDENCED. Unlike the Federico II LM in Data Science — which explicitly demands "a certification for the English proficiency (level B2 or higher) released by an official certification institute (University declarations are not sufficient)" — no unina.it page for QS&E names accepted certificates, sets a minimum IELTS/TOEFL score, states whether an English-medium bachelor's degree or a university-issued declaration is acceptable, or defines any exemption. The only University-level guidance is the generic reference on international.unina.it to "an international certificate attesting to the level of English language skills (IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge, etc.)". SAFE PLANNING ASSUMPTION: obtain a recognised external certificate at B2 or above (IELTS, TOEFL iBT, Cambridge B2 First / C1 Advanced, TOEIC, Trinity ISE II or equivalent) and upload it with your application; confirm acceptability with francesco.tafuri@unina.it or segrdid.fisica@unina.it before paying for a test. VISA-SIDE NOTE: the University advises that an English certificate is "useful for the issue of the visa by the diplomatic/consular Representation", so the same certificate should be uploaded to Universitaly by non-EU applicants. ITALIAN: NOT REQUIRED, AT ANY STAGE. Because QS&E is an English-taught degree, the University-wide rule applies: "If you choose a three-year, five-year or single-cycle degree course in ENGLISH, level B2 Italian language proficiency is not required." No Italian certificate and no Italian language test are needed for admission or for visa validation, and — unlike the Federico II LM in Data Science — no unina.it page ties the 3-CFU "further training activities" slot to an Italian-language certificate from the CLA, so no Italian is required to graduate either (that slot may be used for language OR IT skills OR internships OR thesis-preparation activities, at the student's choice). Italian courses remain available on a voluntary basis from the University Language Centre (CLA, https://www.cla.unina.it/). OUTPUT-LANGUAGE RULES: the master's thesis must be written in English and the 20-25 minute final presentation "must be conducted in English".

Sınav / değerlendirme

NO WRITTEN ADMISSION TEST, NO TOLC, NO SAT, NO GRE, NO PORTFOLIO, NO RANKED SELECTION — BUT A DISCRETIONARY ORAL INTERVIEW IS EXPLICITLY PROVIDED FOR, AND THIS IS THE KEY DIFFERENCE FROM MOST FEDERICO II OPEN-ACCESS MASTER'S DEGREES. The Didactic Regulations, Art. 5, state: "Admission will be based primarily on the analysis of the candidates' university career, i.e. the overall average, the average in the SSDs listed in the previous section and the grades reported in the individual exams; where deemed necessary, an oral interview may be used to complete the assessment for admission purposes. Admission is aimed at verifying the initial preparation on the topics listed in the previous section, as well as the objectives of planning the number of enrollees." The Italian original is identical: "ove ritenuto necessario un colloquio orale con i candidati potrà essere utilizzato per completare la valutazione ai fini dell'ammissione." THE INTERVIEW IS CONDITIONAL, NOT ROUTINE — the trigger ("where deemed necessary") is left entirely to the CCD's judgement, no unina.it page says how often it is used, what it covers, whether it is held online or in person, or on what calendar. A realistic reading: applicants whose transcripts clearly clear the 54 CFU thresholds with good grades are admitted on paper alone; borderline profiles (missing SSDs, unusual degree structures, foreign transcripts that are hard to map onto Italian SSDs) are the ones likely to be interviewed. Any foreign applicant should assume an interview MAY be requested and should be ready to discuss real analysis, linear algebra, differential equations, classical mechanics, thermodynamics, electromagnetism and basic programming — the exact topics Art. 4 lists as the knowledge the credit thresholds are meant to prove. Ask segrdid.fisica@unina.it or francesco.tafuri@unina.it directly. WHAT REPLACES A TEST FOR FOREIGN APPLICANTS: the Coordinator's evaluation leading to a PRE-ACCEPTANCE LETTER — "A pre-acceptance letter certifies your eligibility for the selected degree programme. It is issued by the Programme Coordinator following an evaluation of the documents you have submitted" (2026/27 non-EU booklet). ENGLISH IS CERTIFIED BY DOCUMENT, NOT BY TEST — the regulations require CEFR B2 but prescribe no University-run English exam. ITALIAN LANGUAGE TEST: NOT APPLICABLE — the University waives the B2 Italian requirement for English-taught degrees ("If you choose a three-year, five-year or single-cycle degree course in ENGLISH, level B2 Italian language proficiency is not required"), and no Italian test exists for this programme at any stage. NO OFA (Obblighi Formativi Aggiuntivi / additional learning obligations) mechanism applies: OFAs are a first-cycle instrument; for this master's the shortfall remedy is to acquire the missing CFU beforehand via single course units.

  • THERE IS NO PROGRAMME-SPECIFIC DOCUMENT CHECKLIST ON ANY QUANTUM SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING PAGE — qse.unina.it routes its "Info for Foreign Students" menu item straight to international.unina.it, and the Department of Physics course page carries no application checklist at all. The list below is therefore assembled from the University-level documents that govern this programme, and the Coordinator or Segreteria may request an additional item. (1) FOR THE COORDINATOR'S ELIGIBILITY EVALUATION (all foreign-degree applicants, EU and non-EU alike): the academic documents needed to assess the foreign qualification — "eventual translations; legalisations; Diploma Supplement; certificates of examinations; certificates from the Italian ENIC-NARIC centre (CIMEA); any declarations of value issued by the competent diplomatic representations". In practice you must be able to demonstrate the 24 + 12 + 6 + 12 CFU thresholds, so include a transcript that shows credits/contact hours per course, plus syllabi if your course titles do not map obviously onto Italian SSDs. Add the B2 English certificate. (2) FOR NON-EU PRE-ENROLMENT ON UNIVERSITALY (uploaded as PDF), Master's-degree track, verbatim from the 2026/27 booklet: "Transcript of Records (ToR); Final degree certificate; Detailed course descriptions; Additional documents e.g. language certificates, motivation letter, reference letters; Pre-acceptance letter from the Programme Coordinator; DoV or CIMEA both Statement of comparability and verification." Also required in the form itself: personal details entered exactly as on the passport ("If your passport includes only a full name, enter it in the 'Name' field and leave 'Surname' blank"; personal data cannot be edited afterwards without a Cineca support ticket), the Embassy/Consulate where the visa will be requested, and the academic programme to which you have been admitted. (3) DOCUMENTS SUPPORTING THE ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION (mandatory at enrolment): a Declaration of Value (DoV) issued by an Italian Embassy/Consulate — or, as an alternative, CIMEA's Statement of Comparability AND Statement of Verification, jointly (https://cimea-diplome.it/). If the qualification comes from a European Higher Education Area / Bologna Process country, submit a DIPLOMA SUPPLEMENT accompanied by a CIMEA Statement of Verification. Holders of qualifications from Lisbon Recognition Convention signatory countries may use CIMEA's ARDI platform for a Statement of Correspondence plus a Statement of Verification. "At the enrolment stage, the above-mentioned documents are mandatory and must accompany the submitted/declared academic qualifications." (4) TO TAKE TO THE ITALIAN EMBASSY: the Universitaly pre-enrolment summary validated by the University; any language competence certificates; the visa-application documents including a health insurance policy; the foreign-qualification documents. (5) FOR MATRICULATION AT THE STUDENT OFFICE (international students): copy of passport; application form; 1 passport photo; ITALIAN TAX CODE (codice fiscale) — "The tax code (codice fiscale) is mandatory for enrolment; do not forget to obtain tax code from Agenzia della Entrate or from an Italian embassy", though "You can proceed with the enrolment anyway. Contact the relevant Student Office, which will be able to generate the payment notices for your tuition fees"; residence permit or proof of having applied for it; Declaration of Value or ENIC-NARIC/CIMEA certificate. IMPORTANT PROCEDURAL POINT: "Coloro che presentano una cittadinanza straniera dovranno effettuare l'iscrizione presso gli sportelli delle Segreterie Studenti, non potranno usare la procedura on-line" — students with foreign citizenship must enrol IN PERSON at the student office counter and cannot use the online Segrepass procedure. For this programme the counter is the Segreteria Studenti Area didattica di Scienze, Complesso Universitario di Monte Sant'Angelo, Via Cintia, tel. 081 676550 / 081 676544, segrmmff@unina.it. (6) FOR ITALIAN/EU ONLINE ENROLMENT via www.segrepass.unina.it: the printed plico (summary of the matriculation data), a passport-size photo, a photocopy of a valid identity document, and — if the bachelor was obtained at a university other than Federico II — a self-certification under D.P.R. 445/2000 listing the awarding university, exact title, date, final grade and every exam passed with date, grade, CFU and SSD (the SSD list is what the CCD needs to check the 24/12/6/12 thresholds). Enquiries: segrdid.fisica@unina.it (teaching secretariat) and francesco.tafuri@unina.it (Coordinator).

  • 1) ACADEMIC YEAR BASIS AND STALENESS. All facts in this record were gathered on 30 Ağustos 2026. The programme fact sheet on orientamento.unina.it is explicitly stamped "Aggiornata a.a. 2025/2026" (updated to a.y. 2025/2026), and the binding Didactic Regulations are "in force since the academic year 2024 - 2025" — neither has been refreshed for 2026/2027. The University-level fee and deadline documents used here ARE the 2026/27 editions. CRITICALLY: the 15 June 2026 non-EU pre-enrolment deadline for a.y. 2026/2027 HAS ALREADY PASSED, so a non-EU applicant abroad must now target a.y. 2027/2028 and re-check the corresponding dates when the new booklet appears. 2) NO MINIMUM BACHELOR GRADE IS PUBLISHED. Unlike the Federico II LM in Data Science (7.0-7.5/10), no unina.it page states a minimum GPA for QS&E. But Art. 5 makes grades a formal part of the assessment ("the overall average, the average in the SSDs listed in the previous section and the grades reported in the individual exams"), so a weak transcript can be refused even when the 54 CFU thresholds are met. Ask the Coordinator before assuming eligibility. 3) THE ORAL INTERVIEW IS DISCRETIONARY AND UNDOCUMENTED. Art. 5 allows the CCD to add "an oral interview... where deemed necessary", but no page says when it is triggered, what it covers, how it is scheduled, or whether it can be held remotely. Foreign applicants should plan extra lead time and ask segrdid.fisica@unina.it. 4) HOW B2 ENGLISH MUST BE EVIDENCED IS NOT SPECIFIED. No accepted-certificate list, no minimum IELTS/TOEFL score, no statement on whether an English-medium degree or a university declaration is acceptable, and no exemption rule. Obtain a recognised external certificate and confirm acceptability in advance. 5) CONFLICTING ENROLMENT WINDOWS ON TWO OFFICIAL UNINA.IT PAGES. The QS&E fact sheet says enrolment runs "from September 1st and October 31"; the binding 'Guida all'iscrizione 2026-27' opens the ordinary window on 16 July 2026 and closes it on 2 November 2026, with a hard final master's deadline of 31 March 2027. Follow the Guida. 6) THE 60-CFU ACCELERATED PATH FOR SECOND-MASTER'S HOLDERS IS ANNOUNCED BUT NOT PUBLISHED. Both orientamento.unina.it and fisica.unina.it refer to it and point to "the extended Guide and... the regulations of the QS&E", but the 2024/25 Didactic Regulations contain no such 60-CFU scheme and no "extended Guide" is linked from any course page. Request it from the teaching secretariat. 7) SECOND-YEAR FREE-CHOICE COURSES ARE NOT LANGUAGE-GUARANTEED. 18 CFU (12 in year-2 semester I, 6 in year-2 semester II) are TAF D free-choice slots in which the student "may choose any course offered by the University", including courses in Italian-taught degrees. The 100%-English claim is fully safe for the first year, for all mandatory courses and for every List A elective; the free-choice slots require the student to select English-delivered courses deliberately. 8) TEMPLATE ERROR IN THE OFFICIAL REGULATIONS — the English cover page prints "LM-44 (single-cycle)", which is wrong: this is a two-year second-cycle Laurea Magistrale (120 CFU, entry with a Laurea di I livello). 9) STALE UNIVERSITALY LINK ON THE DEPARTMENT PAGE — the "Scheda Universitaly" link on fisica.unina.it points to https://www.universitaly.it/index.php/public/schedaCorso/anno/2017/corso/1539021 , a 2017 course record that cannot be this programme (QS&E opened in 2022). Do not rely on it; look the programme up fresh on universitaly.it. 10) NON-EU SEAT CONTINGENT NOT VERIFIABLE FROM UNINA.IT — the per-course visa contingent for open-access degrees lives on universitaly.it, which was outside this task's unina.it-only source restriction. See non_eu_reserved_seats. 11) A "230 PLACES" FIGURE CIRCULATES IN SEARCH SUMMARIES OF FEDERICO II'S 2022/23 NEW-COURSE COVERAGE AND IS NOT SUPPORTED BY ANY UNINA.IT SOURCE. The 2022 announcement article (radiof2.unina.it and unina.it news) contains no seat figure for this programme. Treat 230 as false. 12) DATE TYPO IN THE OFFICIAL NON-EU BOOKLET — its Matriculation page reads "Students who obtained visa are required to matriculate by 31 January 2026", while the same booklet's Deadlines page and the ministerial rule both give 31 January 2027 for a.y. 2026/2027. 2027 is correct. 13) REGIONAL TAX FIGURE MISMATCH — international.unina.it quotes a flat EUR 140/year while the binding 2026/27 Guida gives bands of EUR 130 / 151 / 173 and assigns EUR 151 to students whose household resides abroad. Use the Guida. 14) NO PROGRAMME-SPECIFIC DOCUMENT CHECKLIST is published; required_documents is assembled from University-level sources, so the Coordinator or Segreteria may request additional items (syllabi, SSD mapping, motivation letter). 15) NO 2026-27 OR 2027-28 EDITION OF THE 'STUDY IN NAPLES' SCHOLARSHIP CALL was published on international.unina.it as of the research date; the most recent published edition is 2024-2025. Do not assume the scheme will be repeated on the same terms. 16) TWO SEGRETERIE ARE NAMED FOR THIS PROGRAMME AND ONE E-MAIL IS LEGACY — enrolment is handled by the Segreteria Studenti Area didattica di Scienze (segrmmff@unina.it, Monte Sant'Angelo), teaching matters by the Department of Physics teaching secretariat (segrdid.fisica@unina.it); the official leaflet still prints the older INFN address segrdid@na.infn.it for the latter. 17) DIPLOMA TITLE VS DEGREE CLASS — the diploma will read "Quantum Science and Engineering" in class LM-44 "Modellistica matematico-fisica per l'ingegneria" (an engineering-modelling class), not a Physics (LM-17) or Electronic Engineering (LM-29) class. This matters for foreign equivalence assessments and for Italian professional-register eligibility; the programme's home department being Physics does not change the class on the parchment. 18) TWO-SITE TEACHING — lectures are at Monte Sant'Angelo but DIETI-run laboratory activities take place at the Electrical Engineering and Information Technology department (Fuorigrotta / Via Claudio area); no official page publishes a room-by-room split, so budget for travel between the two sites.
