CONFIRMED - Complesso Universitario di Monte Sant'Angelo, Edificio 7 (Department of Biology), Via Cinthia 26, 80126 Napoli, Italy. This resolves the "campus: to be verified" flag in the research brief. It is inside the city of Naples (Fuorigrotta/Soccavo area, western Naples), on the University's main science campus - NOT one of the outlying sites (Portici, San Giovanni a Teduccio, Frullone) and not the Policlinico or the historic centre. EVIDENCE. (1) The orientamento.unina.it course sheet's "Directions" tab contains a single embedded Google map pinned to "Universita Degli Studi di Napoli Federico II Complesso Universitario di Monte Sant'Angelo" (coordinates approx. 40.8388 N, 14.1828 E); the sheet publishes no other teaching address. (2) The Department of Biology's official letterhead, as printed on its published admission documents, reads: "Sede Amministrativa: Complesso Universitario Monte Sant'Angelo - Edificio 7 - Via Cinthia, 26 - 80126 NAPOLI - ITALIA - Tel. +39 081679000 - 081679229 - 081679228 - Fax +39 081679233". (3) The Department's programme page gives the Course Coordinator's office as "Complesso Universitario di Monte S. Angelo, Universita degli Studi di Napoli Federico II, Edificio 7, via Cinthia - 80126 NAPOLI, Stanza: 0D-15a". (4) The Department's own page summarises the location as "Department of Biology, Complesso Universitario di Monte S. Angelo, Naples". PRACTICAL NOTE ON THE ADDRESS NUMBER: unina.it pages give the street as both "via Cinthia" without a number (orientamento, coordinator's office) and "Via Cinthia, 26" (department letterhead); Monte Sant'Angelo is a single large campus addressed along Via Cinthia (commonly 21 or 26 depending on the entrance/building), so this is a signage detail rather than a discrepancy about where the programme is taught. TEACHING IS NOT CONFINED TO THE CLASSROOM. The study plan includes a mandatory 6-CFU "Scientific Diving" course (BIO/05) taught as "Frontal lesson and practice", and the Ordinamento and orientamento both stress field and laboratory work in the marine environment. The programme's field and laboratory activity is underpinned by a partnership with the Stazione Zoologica Anton Dohrn of Naples, and orientamento.unina.it lists the network available to students: "the Stazione Zoologica of Napoli Anton Dhorn, the Istituto Superiore per la Protezione e la Ricerca Ambientale ISPRA, the Acquario of Cattolica, the Echinoidea s.r.l. Procida, Aquaculture Farm, the Arpa Puglia, the European Marine Biological Resource Centre, the Centro de Estudos do Ambiente e do Mar CESAM (Portugal), the Whitney Laboratory For Marine Bioscience, Marine Biological Laboratory (Florida, USA)" [typo "Dhorn" as published]. These are partner/field sites, not alternative campuses: no unina.it page assigns timetabled teaching to any address other than Monte Sant'Angelo. COMPETENT STUDENT OFFICE (a different address from the teaching campus): Segreteria Studenti Area Didattica Scienze MM.FF.NN. - https://www.unina.it/-/769598-segreteria-studenti-area-didattica-scienze-mm-ff-nn- - e-mail segrmmff@unina.it. This is the office to which the English B2 certificate must be sent and, for non-EU citizens, where enrolment is done in person.

OPEN ACCESS ("Admission Libero") - there is NO numerus clausus, NO competitive ranking and NO admission bando for this programme. This is the single most important structural difference between this degree and Federico II's restricted English-taught Master's degrees (e.g. Precision Livestock Farming), and it means a qualified applicant cannot be refused for lack of places. The orientamento.unina.it course sheet header states "Admission Libero", and the body confirms: "Access to the Degree Course is free, subject to verification of possession of the curricular and personal culture requirements as well as possession of the curricular requirements of three-year degrees in biology." The SUA-CdS Ordinamento contains no "numero programmato" or "utenza sostenibile" cap section, and the Didactic Regulations, Art. 5, leave scheduling to the CCD: "The CCD of the Master's Degree Program normally regulates the admission criteria and any scheduling of enrolments, except in the case subject to different provisions of law. Verification of personal preparation is always mandatory, and only students who meet the curricular requirements can access it." "Open access" is NOT "automatic access". Two gates must be cleared before enrolment can proceed: (i) the CURRICULAR REQUIREMENTS (a fixed CFU profile in BIO/CHIM/FIS/MAT sectors - see academic_requirements), and (ii) the VERIFICATION OF PERSONAL PREPARATION, which is mandatory for everyone but automatically waived for applicants whose bachelor's degree mark is at least 90/110. English at B2 is a third, separate condition. THE PROCEDURE HAS TWO DISTINCT STAGES, AND THE FIRST IS THE SAME FOR EVERY NATIONALITY. Department of Biology programme page: "To become a student of the master program there are two steps: Admission [and] Enrollment. The ADMISSION procedure is common to all the students of any nationality, and it is mandatory in order to verify the requirements and to confirm your knowledge of English. The ENROLLMENT procedure is different depending on if you are an Italian, EU or Extra-EU prospective student." (1) ADMISSION (all nationalities). Handled directly by the Programme Coordinator, not by a portal. "Foreign students to enroll to the MD in Marine Biology and Aquaculture have to contact the Coordinator, Prof. Francesca Carella, sending a mail to: mba@unina.it". A document set (diploma, transcript, passport, CV, English certificate) is assessed, and the stage ends with a decision document: "At the end of this procedure you will obtain a Pre-Acceptance Letter from the program coordinator to be used for the Enrollment procedure and to request the VISA (when necessary)." (2) ENROLLMENT (nationality-dependent). "Italian and EU Students will need to enroll using SegrePass while Extra-EU Students will need to enroll through https://www.universitaly.it/." The Department adds: "The enrollment procedure must first be carried out on SEGREPASS and then the model R must be sent." Note that under the University's general rules ALL students of foreign citizenship - EU included - must complete enrolment at the Student Office counter rather than online: Guida rapida 2026/27, "Iscrizione per gli studenti con cittadinanza straniera": "Coloro che presentano una cittadinanza straniera dovranno effettuare l'iscrizione presso gli sportelli delle Segreterie Studenti, non potranno usare la procedura on-line." NO TOLC, NO SAT, NO WRITTEN ENTRANCE EXAMINATION, no portfolio and no merit ranking of any kind. There is also no application fee, because there is no competition to apply to.
Resmî Eğitim Dili
English - 100% English-medium, confirmed by five independent official sources with no conflicting evidence. (a) orientamento.unina.it course sheet header: "Language ENG" (not the "ITA/ENG" tag Federico II uses for its bilingual programmes such as Ingegneria Chimica / Chemical Engineering). (b) SUA-CdS Ordinamento 2025-26, general information block: "Lingua in cui si tiene il corso: Inglese". (c) Didactic Regulations, Art. 1: "The Study Course in Marine Biology and Aquaculture belongs to the Department of Biology and is taught in English." Art. 4 repeats: "The course is delivered in English; therefore the student must have an adequate knowledge of the English language (level B2)." (d) Department of Biology programme page: "The course is held in English, therefore the student must have an adequate knowledge of the English language (level B2)." (e) international.unina.it International Courses Catalogue lists it among the 2-year Master's degrees under "Mathematics, Physics and Natural Sciences" as "Marine Biology and Aquaculture - ENG". Every taught course in the published study plan - both curricula, both years - is delivered in English; no Italian-taught module appears anywhere in the plan. Both curricula are English-taught, so unlike Federico II's curriculum-based bilingual degrees there is no risk of choosing an Italian-language track by mistake. ITALIAN APPEARS ONLY AS A CREDIT-BEARING SUPPORT FOR FOREIGN STUDENTS, NOT AS A TEACHING LANGUAGE. The 6-CFU "further training activities" block (TAF F, second year) is labelled in Annex 2.2 with "Activity language: English/Italian", and is defined as: "For Italian students: other knowledge useful for job placement; IT and telematics skills; training and orientation periods ... for foreign students: acquisition of Italian language knowledge." The study-plan footnote makes the split explicit: "for foreign students: 3 CFU for Italian language acquisition and 3 CFU for knowledge useful for job placement". The orientamento sheet states the same from the internship angle: "For foreign students, the credits available for the internship are a maximum of 3, while a further 3 credits are dedicated to the acquisition of the Italian language." So an international student earns 3 CFU by learning some Italian - a supported, credit-rewarded activity, not an admission barrier. Learning outcomes are explicitly framed in English: the Ordinamento requires graduates to "utilizzare fluentemente, in forma scritta e orale, la lingua inglese con riferimento anche ai lessici disciplinari" and to write technical reports "in italiano ed in inglese"; "L'abilita di comunicazione in lingua inglese e esercitata e valutata nelle prove di" the taught courses. CAVEAT FOR APPLICANTS: the English-medium teaching does not extend to the administrative layer. The Department of Biology's own programme page is a mixed Italian/English page; the SegrePass enrolment portal, the University enrolment guide (Guida rapida 2026/27) and the fee rules are published in Italian only.

There is NO application deadline in the competitive sense - the programme is open access, so there is no bando and no application window. What binds instead is the University's ENROLMENT (immatricolazione) calendar for a.y. 2026/2027, set by the Guida rapida all'iscrizione 2026/27 (Rectorate, version dated 10 July 2026). Key dates, from the guide's "Date importanti da ricordare per l'anno accademico 2026/27" table:
- 16 Temmuz 2026 - "16 LUGLIO 2026 - Inizio periodo ordinario immatricolazione": ordinary matriculation opens. The instalment table confirms this applies to first-year Master's enrolments: first instalment payable "Dal 16 luglio (immatricolazioni L o iscrizioni I anno LM) o dall'1 settembre ed entro il 2 novembre 2026".
- 1 Eylül 2026 - "1 SETTEMBRE 2026 - Inizio periodo ordinario iscrizione agli anni successivi - Inizio periodo ordinario per passaggi e trasferimenti (corsi di studi/universita)": enrolment in later years, and course/university transfers, open.

Non-EU citizens RESIDING ABROAD follow a separate, much earlier track governed by the visa timetable. The dates below are assembled from the Department of Biology page, international.unina.it and the University enrolment guide, all for a.y. 2026/2027 - but the programme's own first stage has no published deadline at all (see the uncertainty note below).
- 15 Haziran 2026 - UNIVERSITALY PRE-ENROLMENT DEADLINE. This is the one hard, programme-specific date published, and the Department of Biology states it on the Marine Biology and Aquaculture page itself: "The Universitaly deadline for Extra-European Students application is June 15th, 2026." international.unina.it states the same University-wide date and adds an exception that does NOT help here: "JUNE - 15 - 2026 - Pre-enrolment application deadline to University of Naples Federico II. After this date no programme changes are permitted. After this date pre-enrolment is allowed to the programmes with restricted access only." Because Marine Biology and Aquaculture is an OPEN-ACCESS ("Libero") programme, it is NOT covered by that restricted-access extension - so 15 June 2026 is a genuine cut-off for this course, unlike for Federico II's numero-programmato degrees. This is the single most consequential date for a non-EU applicant and it falls roughly four and a half months before the EU enrolment deadline.
- Before that date - the Coordinator-led ADMISSION stage must already be complete, because its output is needed for both the enrolment and the visa: "At the end of this procedure you will obtain a Pre-Acceptance Letter from the program coordinator to be used for the Enrollment procedure and to request the VISA (when necessary)." No opening date, closing date or submission window is published for this stage.
2. Kabul koşulları
Akademik geçmiş
Seats (total): NO SEAT LIMIT - the programme is open access and no maximum number of places is published anywhere on unina.it. This is a positive finding rather than a missing one: orientamento.unina.it states "Admission Libero" in the course-sheet header and "Access to the Degree Course is free, subject to verification of possession of the curricular and personal culture requirements"; the SUA-CdS Ordinamento contains no numero programmato / utenza sostenibile cap; and the Didactic Regulations contain no cap, no ranking provision and no reference to a competition. There is consequently no admission bando, no graduatoria (merit ranking) and no scorrimenti (ranking slides) for this course.
Practical meaning for an applicant: meeting the curricular requirements, clearing the personal-preparation check and holding English B2 is sufficient - a qualified candidate is not competing for a finite number of places. The only real capacity constraint visible in the documentation is pedagogical rather than administrative: the mandatory 6-CFU "Scientific Diving" course involves practical in-water work, and laboratory/field activities are credited at 8 contact hours per CFU, which implies small-group organisation, but no published rule converts this into an admission cap.
The absence of a number should not be read as an absence of process: enrolment still has to be completed within the University's calendar (see application_deadline_eu) and, for non-EU applicants residing abroad, within the Universitaly/visa timetable, which is the genuine practical bottleneck for this programme. | Seats (non-EU reserved): NO reserved non-EU quota is published for this programme on any unina.it source, and because the programme is open access there is no admission decree in which such a quota would normally be stated. For Federico II's restricted-access courses the reserved non-EU figure is set in the annual Rectoral admission decree (e.g. "numero 15 posti riservati a cittadini non comunitari residenti all'estero" for Precision Livestock Farming); Marine Biology and Aquaculture has no such decree at all, so there is no document in which a reserved figure could appear.

ENGLISH - B2 (CEFR). Compulsory for ALL applicants of every nationality; it is an eligibility condition, not a scored criterion. The requirement is stated identically in every official source:
- Didactic Regulations, Art. 4: "The course is delivered in English; therefore the student must have an adequate knowledge of the English language (level B2)."
NO entrance examination, NO TOLC, NO SAT, NO written admission test, NO portfolio, NO competitive interview and NO merit ranking. Access is open ("Admission Libero"), so nothing a candidate does is scored against other candidates. Three assessments nevertheless exist, and ALL of them are pass/fail eligibility checks:
1) CURRICULAR-REQUIREMENTS CHECK (documentary). A desk verification that the transcript carries the required 18 + 6 + 6 + 12 CFU in the prescribed BIO/CHIM/MAT/FIS sectors. Performed on the submitted transcript; no test is sat.
2) VERIFICATION OF PERSONAL PREPARATION (desk review, with a possible oral interview). MANDATORY IN PRINCIPLE FOR ALL - Didactic Regulations, Art. 5: "Verification of personal preparation is always mandatory, and only students who meet the curricular requirements can access it" - but AUTOMATICALLY WAIVED for anyone whose bachelor's degree mark is 90/110 or above (Department of Biology: "Graduates who have obtained the degree with a grade of not less than 90/110 are exempted from the test to verify the adequacy of personal preparation"). For those below 90/110, orientamento.unina.it describes a document-based first instance: the Master's Degree Study Plans and Admissions Commission analyses "the student's previous curriculum and the scores achieved in the BIO sector exams and does not involve direct involvement of the students. If the Commission deems it appropriate, it will carry out an oral interview for evaluation purposes." The Commission may also waive the interview for candidates with "particularly important qualifications or a certificate of passing of further supplementary exams taken". The methods are re-set annually by the CCD and published on the Department of Biology website, so the current year's notice should always be checked.
3. Hazırlanacak belgeler
No single consolidated official checklist covers the whole journey; the lists below are the published fragments, in the order they are needed.
A) ADMISSION STAGE - the only list published specifically for this programme, and it applies to ALL nationalities (submitted to the Coordinator at mba@unina.it). Department of Biology: "In order to apply to the Admission procedure you will need the following documents: your Bachelor Diploma; Transcript of Records (ToR) with a detailed description of the courses attended and the exams passed to obtain the final degree (only for foreign students); a copy of your passport (only for foreign students); an updated CV; the certificate of English language (when available/necessary); other relevant documents." The Transcript of Records is the load-bearing document: it is what the 18 + 6 + 6 + 12 CFU curricular check and the personal-preparation desk review are performed on, so it must show course-by-course credits, not only a grade average. Output of this stage: a Pre-Acceptance Letter from the Coordinator.
B) ENGLISH CERTIFICATE - filed SEPARATELY and to a different office. Department of Biology: "Students in possession of the ENGLISH LANGUAGE CERTIFICATION LEVEL B2 must deliver it or send it by email, in pdf, format to the administrative contact of the Student Secretariat of Sciences MFN, sent a mail to segrmmff@unina.it". No list of accepted certificates is published.
1) IDENTITY IS CONFIRMED AND THE DISAMBIGUATION IN THE BRIEF IS CORRECT. "Marine Biology and Aquaculture" (LM-6, course code P59, Department of Biology) is the current, active programme, with 2025/26 Didactic Regulations and a 2025-26 Ordinamento. The discontinued "Biology and Ecology of the Marine Environment and Sustainable Use of Marine Resources" carries the explicit tag "Corso attivo fino all'A.A. 2020/2021" on its own orientamento page. The confusion risk is real and high: BOTH pages are still live, and both display Degree class LM-6, Admission Libero, Language ENG, Department Biologia. Match on programme name or on code P59 - never on class + language + department.
2) THE TWO ARE THE SAME COURSE RECORD, RENAMED - not two unrelated degrees. The current programme's SUA-CdS Ordinamento still carries the founding consultation conducted under the old name and then flags "Nuove consultazioni con le parti sociali per le modifiche di ordinamento apportate per l'a.a. 2021/2022"; the Department's earliest Marine Biology and Aquaculture regulations file is dated 2021-2022, immediately after the old course's last year (2020/2021). Consequence: syllabus, study plan and curricula published under the old name are obsolete and must not be reused, even though the institutional lineage is continuous.
3) CAMPUS FLAG RESOLVED. The brief listed campus as "to be verified"; it is Complesso Universitario di Monte Sant'Angelo, Edificio 7, Via Cinthia 26, 80126 Napoli. The only residual imprecision is the street number (unina.it pages give "via Cinthia" with no number and "Via Cinthia, 26"; the campus is also commonly addressed at Via Cinthia 21), which is a signage detail, not a disagreement about location. Partner institutions (Stazione Zoologica Anton Dohrn and others) host field and laboratory work but are not alternative campuses; no unina.it page assigns timetabled teaching to any other address.
4) ENROLMENT-WINDOW CONFLICT (resolved in favour of the University guide). The orientamento course sheet says enrolment "usually take[s] place from 1 September to 31 October of each year"; the Guida rapida all'iscrizione 2026/27 sets 16 July / 1 September to 2 November 2026, an extraordinary period from 3 November with surcharges, and an outer limit of 31 March 2027 for first-year Master's enrolment. The guide is the operative document for a.y. 2026/27 and the sheet defers to it; the sheet's sentence appears to be generic boilerplate. The guide itself adds "Nota: le date di scadenza possono essere soggette a variazioni."
5) NON-EU APPLICATION TIMETABLE IS THE WEAKEST POINT IN THE PUBLISHED RECORD. The 15 June 2026 Universitaly deadline is stated clearly on the Department page, but the stage that must PRECEDE it - the Coordinator-led Admission procedure ending in a Pre-Acceptance Letter - has no published opening date, closing date or turnaround time. Note also that the international.unina.it post-15-June extension applies only to RESTRICTED-ACCESS programmes, so it does NOT rescue a late applicant to this open-access course. Write to mba@unina.it months in advance.
6) CONTRADICTION ON THE VISA LETTER. The Department promises a "Pre-Acceptance Letter from the program coordinator ... to request the VISA", while international.unina.it states "The University of Naples Federico II does not issue admission letters for obtaining a visa." A departmental pre-acceptance letter is formally not a central admission letter, but consulates may not accept the distinction. Obtain the Coordinator's letter; do not expect anything from the central administration.
7) ENGLISH PLACEMENT TEST IS POST-ENROLMENT. The Department's placement-test notice addresses "Students regularly enrolled in the first year", i.e. the test is sat after enrolment. For a non-EU applicant who needs evidence of English at the Pre-Acceptance and visa stages, the certificate route is in practice the only workable one, even though the University formally offers the alternative. No accepted-certificate list and no IELTS/TOEFL/Cambridge score mapping is published anywhere on unina.it.
8) NO NON-EU QUOTA IS PUBLISHED ON UNINA.IT, and none could exist in a bando because there is no bando. The per-course non-EU contingent declared annually on universitaly.it was deliberately not consulted under the unina.it-only source restriction. The University's own summary, UniversItaly_2026_27.pdf, could not be read (see point 11).
9) FEE FIGURE MISMATCH (minor, and partly resolved). international.unina.it gives a flat regional tax of "EUR 140/year", which matches none of the three 2026/27 bands (EUR 130 / 151 / 173) in the Guida rapida - the international page appears not to have been updated for a.y. 2026/27. The more important point is that the two schemes DO reconcile in substance: the Guida's citizenship-based exemptions (non-EU citizens fully exempt from the contribution; other-EU citizens a flat EUR 200) are precisely what international.unina.it advertises. Expect roughly EUR 150-190/year total for a non-EU student. Use calcolatrice.unina.it for a binding figure.
10) CURRICULUM NAMING IS INCONSISTENT ACROSS OFFICIAL SOURCES (cosmetic). The second curriculum appears as "Marine Resource Management" (Regulations, introductory sentence), "Aquaculture and Marine Resource Management" (Regulations, study-plan headings) and "Aquaculture and Management of marine resources" (orientamento sheet). All three denote the same track. Similarly, the Italian course name appears as both "Biologia Marina e Acquacoltura" (SUA-CdS field) and "Biologia Marina ed Acquacoltura" (Department pages, Ordinamento body).
11) TECHNICAL RETRIEVAL PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED. www.orientamento.unina.it presents an invalid TLS certificate chain to some clients and was retrievable only with certificate verification relaxed. www.corsi.unina.it/P59 renders its content via JavaScript and returns an essentially empty document to plain HTTP clients. The old University course record https://www.unina.it/-/26288210-biologia-marina-ed-acquacoltura now returns "Pagina non trovata sul vecchio portale". UniversItaly_2026_27.pdf uses subset-embedded fonts with no Unicode mapping, so its text is not machine-extractable - the non-EU dates here were therefore taken from the HTML pages on international.unina.it and from the Department page instead.
12) THE DEPARTMENT PAGE IS PARTLY STALE AND PARTLY COMPROMISED. It carries a live 2026/27 date (last modified 25/08/2026, Universitaly deadline 15 June 2026) but links a non-EU notice dated 14 March 2024, and the site footer contains injected spam text (unrelated keyword links), a sign the WordPress install has been tampered with at some point. Content was cross-checked against the Regulations, the Ordinamento and orientamento.unina.it wherever possible; no factual contradiction was found, but the page should not be treated as freshly maintained in every part. Its phone number field also displays an obvious placeholder ("+1-888-123-1234") - the real Department numbers are +39 081679000 / 081679229 / 081679228.
13) SOURCE-DOMAIN COMPLIANCE. All sources used are on unina.it hosts (unina.it, old.unina.it, orientamento.unina.it, international.unina.it, corsi.unina.it, dipartimentodibiologia.unina.it, docenti.unina.it), as required by the brief. Third-party aggregators that surfaced in search (AlmaLaurea statistiche, Mastersportal, univpm/unibo/unimi marine-biology pages) were NOT used as evidence; the single AlmaLaurea reference in degree_class is cited only as a corroborating index of the official denomination, and every substantive claim in this record rests on a unina.it source.
14) NOT VERIFIED / OUT OF SCOPE. Current-year CCD notices redefining the personal-preparation methods for a.y. 2026/27 (the Regulations say these are "redefined annually" and published on the Department site) were not located; the a.y. 2026/27 teaching calendar PDF (Calendario_didattico_AA_26_27_Scienze.pdf) was identified but its per-course dates were not extracted; and no published data on cohort size, applicant numbers or actual enrolment for this programme was found on unina.it.
