Kampüs

Portici campus — Department of Agricultural Sciences (Dipartimento di Agraria), Reggia di Portici (Royal Palace of Portici), Via Università 100, 80055 Portici (Naples Province), Italy. This is a separate site from the main Naples city campuses (Monte Sant'Angelo, Policlinico, San Giovanni a Teduccio, Centro Storico). Official statement in the Didactic Regulations, Art. 1: "The Course of Study in Sustainable Food Systems is hinged in Portici, Naples (Italy), Department of Agricultural Sciences of the University of Naples Federico II." The orientamento portal gives the teaching/directions address as "Department of Agricultural Sciences, University of Naples Federico II, Via Università 100, 80055 Portici (NA)", and the Course-in-brief and brochure both give "Course location: via Università 100, Portici (Naples), Italy". The Head of Department's office and the scholarship-contract signing location are given as "Piazza Carlo di Borbone, 1 – PORTICI (NA)" (Royal Palace, 1st floor) — the same Reggia di Portici complex, different entrance/address label. Classes are held in presence; the timetable "normally requires attendance on three to four days per week".

Kabul Tipi

OPEN ACCESS (Italian "accesso libero") — no numerus clausus, no ranked competition, no admission call/bando, no TOLC, no SAT. The orientamento.unina.it course sheet header states "Admission Libero". The department's How-to-enroll page states: "The degree program is open access." The brochure repeats: "The course of study is open access, but it is necessary to meet the minimum curricular requirements and be in possession of adequate personal preparation." Open access here means admission is by requirement-verification, not by competition: any applicant who (1) holds an eligible bachelor's degree, (2) satisfies the curricular requirements, (3) demonstrates adequate personal preparation and (4) proves English at B2 may enrol. Enrolment is completed online through Segrepass (www.segrepass.unina.it) for Italian/EU applicants; applicants holding foreign citizenship must complete enrolment in person at the Student Office (Segreteria Studenti — Area Didattica Agraria), since the 2026/27 student guide states that students with foreign citizenship "non potranno usare la procedura on-line" (cannot use the online procedure). Non-EU applicants residing abroad have an additional compulsory step: Universitaly pre-enrolment plus a pre-acceptance letter from the Programme Coordinator. A separate, optional and entirely distinct competitive procedure exists for the 10 departmental scholarships (see official_call_url) — that competition awards money, not admission.

Resmî Eğitim Dili

English — 100% English-medium, confirmed by multiple independent official sources with no conflicting evidence. (a) The orientamento.unina.it course sheet header states "Language ENG" (unlike bilingual Federico II programmes, which are marked "ITA/ENG" or "ENG/ITA"). (b) The programme's Didactic Regulations quote the SUA-CdS framework directly: "Teaching language: English". (c) international.unina.it lists it in the International Course Catalogue under "2-year Master's degrees (LM) — Agricultural Sciences" as "Sustainable food systems – ENG". (d) The scholarship call (Art. 1) describes it as the "2-years Master's degree Course in 'Sustainable Food Systems (SFS) A.Y. 2026-2027' – entirely taught in English". (e) The department's "Studying SFS" page: "It is provided in English, and classes are held in presence at the Department of Agricultural Sciences of the University of Naples Federico II." (f) Every individual course/module in the Didactic Regulations carries "Teaching Language: English", including the Sustainability Boot Camp, Start-up and Innovation training and the Company Case Study. (g) The final Master's thesis "is written in English". No Italian-language modules are listed anywhere in the study plan. Note that the study plan contains a 3 CFU "Further language skills" activity in year 2; the official pages do not specify which language this covers (see uncertainty_notes). Teaching is conventional/in-presence ("Course delivery methods: Conventional"); it is not a distance-learning programme.

  • There is NO competitive application deadline, because the programme is open access — the operative dates are enrolment/matriculation dates. Three official statements exist and they do not fully agree:
  • (1) Programme-level statement (department How-to-enroll page, "Enrollment procedure: EU students"): "Call for applicants will be launched in mid-July and will close at the end of October. Students admitted will need to complete the administrative procedure for the enrollment." The SFS homepage notice puts it as: "Enrollment: from September to October 31".
  • (2) University-wide enrolment calendar for a.y. 2026/27 (Guida all'iscrizione 2026-27, the most specific and most current source): ordinary matriculation period opens 16 July 2026 ("16 LUGLIO 2026 – Inizio periodo ordinario immatricolazione"; the first-instalment rule reads "Dal 16 luglio (immatricolazioni L o iscrizioni I anno LM) o dall'1 settembre ed entro il 2 novembre 2026") and closes 2 November 2026 ("2 NOVEMBRE 2026 – Scadenza periodo ordinario immatricolazione e iscrizione agli anni successivi"). Late enrolment is then possible in an extraordinary period: until 15 January 2027 with a €50 surcharge, and from 16 January 2027 with a €110 surcharge.

AB / AEA dışı adaylar

  • Non-EU citizens residing abroad and subject to visa requirements face a stacked, earlier calendar governed by international.unina.it, all dates for entry in a.y. 2026/2027:
  • • 15 Haziran 2026 — Universitaly pre-enrolment deadline. "JUNE – 15 – 2026 – Pre-enrolment application deadline to University of Naples Federico II. After this date no programme changes are permitted. After this date pre-enrolment is allowed to the programmes with restricted access only." Since SFS is an OPEN-ACCESS programme, that last sentence means the 15 June 2026 cut-off is effectively final for this course. Pre-enrolment is made exclusively on https://www.universitaly.it/ , indicating the University of Naples Federico II, the SFS programme, and the Embassy/Consulate where the visa will be requested.
  • • Before/alongside pre-enrolment — a PRE-ACCEPTANCE LETTER must be obtained from the Programme Coordinator: "A pre-acceptance letter certifies your eligibility for the selected degree programme. It is issued by the Programme Coordinator following an evaluation of the documents you have submitted. It is advisable to obtain the admission to your chosen programme before applying on Universitaly." The University "will validate your application once the course coordinator has issued your pre-acceptance letter". No fixed deadline is published for requesting it; applicants are told processing may take long if it is left until after pre-enrolment.

Kabul koşulları

Akademik geçmiş
  • Seats (total): No seat cap — the programme is open access ("Admission Libero" / "The degree program is open access"), so no numerus clausus, no numero programmato and no total number of places is set or published for Sustainable Food Systems. Anyone meeting the curricular requirements, the personal-preparation standard and the B2 English requirement may enrol within the enrolment window. Note that this is NOT the same as unlimited class size in practice: the orientamento portal states that "Where necessary, due to the number of enrolled students, teaching activities may be divided into groups." Do not confuse the 10 scholarships offered annually by the Department of Excellence project with a seat quota — they are financial awards to students who enrol, not admission places. | Seats (non-EU reserved): Not published on any unina.it page for this programme. Because the course is open access, unina.it publishes no EU/non-EU seat split for it (unlike Federico II's restricted-access courses, whose bandi state figures such as "93 posti, di cui 3 riservati a cittadini extracomunitari residenti all'estero"). The Italian ministerial framework nevertheless requires every university to declare an annual contingent of places for non-EU candidates residing abroad on the Universitaly portal, including for open-access courses; that per-course figure appears in the Universitaly "Scheda" rather than on unina.it, and the task's source restriction to unina.it means it could not be verified here. The only non-EU-specific numeric quota published on unina.it in connection with SFS is the 10 scholarships reserved for international students under the Department of Excellence call — a funding quota, not a seat quota. Non-EU applicants residing abroad should check the SFS entry on universitaly.it for the a.y. 2026/27 contingent, or ask pre-enrolment@unina.it, before assuming a place is available.
  • ENTRY QUALIFICATION. "Students who intend to enroll in the Master's degree program in Sustainable Food Systems must, however, hold a Bachelor's degree, including one obtained according to the system prior to Ministerial Decree 509/1999, or a three-year university degree or other degree obtained abroad that is recognized as suitable." Foreign degrees must be recognised as suitable ("idoneo") by the competent bodies of the University of Naples Federico II.
  • A) CURRICULAR REQUIREMENTS — automatic route. The requirements are automatically satisfied by holders of an Italian bachelor's degree in class L-9 (Industrial Engineering), L-25 (Agricultural and Forestry Sciences) or L-26 (Food Sciences and Technologies), and in the corresponding classes of the pre-D.M. 509/99 system.
Dil yeterliliği
  • ENGLISH — B2 (CEFR), compulsory for all applicants. Official wording (How-to-enroll page and Didactic Regulations Art. 5): "A B2 English language proficiency level is required for all students, which, where not officially certified, will be verified by placement test." The Didactic Regulations add the substantive standard: "to enter the Master's Degree Course, the student must be able to use the English language fluently (level B2 in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages), in written and oral form, also with reference to disciplinary lexicons." The orientamento portal restates it: "A B2 level of English is required; if this is not officially certified, it may be assessed via a test."
  • HOW IT IS PROVED. Two routes: (1) an official English certificate at B2 or above; or (2) the Department's own English placement test. No unina.it page publishes a table of accepted certificates or the minimum IELTS/TOEFL/Cambridge scores mapping to B2 — the requirement is stated only in CEFR terms. The department runs a dedicated "Minimum Knowledge and English Language Commission" ("Commissione Conoscenze Minime e Lingua Inglese") as a standing body of the course. Test dates are announced on the course website; as of the research date the SFS homepage notice reads: "English placement test dates will be provided in September."
  • REMEDIAL PATH. Under the scholarship call, an applicant without a certificate who is awarded a scholarship "can take a placement exam organized by the Department of Agricultural Sciences ... The students who will pass the exam will have the opportunity to enroll. Students who will not pass the exam will have the opportunity to attend a 30-hour remedial course at the Department of Agricultural Sciences ... concluding with a final exam at the end of the course." (Wording is specific to scholarship holders; whether the same 30-hour remedial course is offered to non-scholarship applicants who fail the placement test is not stated — see uncertainty_notes.)
Sınav / değerlendirme
  • No competitive entrance examination. There is no written admission test, no TOLC, no SAT, no ranked selection and no admission bando — the course is open access. Three assessments may nevertheless apply, all of them pass/fail eligibility checks rather than competitions:
  • 1) PERSONAL-PREPARATION INTERVIEW (mandatory verification, but automatically passed by most). "The student's personal preparation is verified by evaluating his or her previous university career. A student is considered to be in possession of adequate personal preparation ... if he or she, in possession of the curricular requirements ..., has obtained the degree with a grade of 90/110 or higher, or has passed a special verification, by means of an interview with a Selection Committee appointed by the CDS Educational Coordination Committee, on subjects concerning the characterizing subjects of the degrees of the L-9, L-25 or L-26 class." For candidates with a foreign degree or a degree in another class: "Such candidates will have to take an assessment test, the outcome of which is binding for enrollment purposes. The assessment test will be carried out by means of interviews on topics related to the characterizing subjects of the degrees of class L-9, L-25 or L-26." Minimum knowledge and interview dates are fixed annually by the Teaching Commission. Booking is at the Student Secretariat of the Department of Agriculture; the candidate must already have graduated or owe only the final undergraduate exam.
  • 2) ENGLISH PLACEMENT TEST (only if no official B2 certificate). "A B2 English language proficiency level is required for all students, which, where not officially certified, will be verified by placement test." Dates are published on the course website ("English placement test dates will be provided in September"). A 30-hour remedial course with a final exam is offered to those who fail (wording published in the scholarship call).

Hazırlanacak belgeler

    • No single consolidated checklist for ordinary (non-scholarship) admission to SFS is published on unina.it; the list below is assembled from the University's enrolment pages, the 2026/27 student guide, the non-EU information sheet and the scholarship call.
    • A) ENROLMENT — all students (unina.it enrolment page / Guida): ISEEU attestation (for fee assessment; without it the maximum bracket is charged); valid identity document; Italian tax code (codice fiscale); the printed application summary ("plico") produced by Segrepass; one passport-size photo (unless uploaded online); photocopy of a valid ID; and — if the bachelor's degree was awarded by a university other than Federico II — a self-certification of the degree under D.P.R. 445/2000 stating the awarding university, the exact title obtained, the date and final grade, and the full list of exams passed with date, grade, CFU and SSD for each. The plico must be delivered to the Student Secretariat within 10 days of receiving the matriculation number.
    • B) FOREIGN-QUALIFICATION RECOGNITION (EU and non-EU alike, international.unina.it): "eventual translations – legalisations – Diploma Supplement – certificates of examinations – certificates from the Italian ENIC-NARIC centre (CIMEA) – any declarations of value issued by the competent diplomatic representations". At enrolment these are mandatory: a Declaration of Value (DoV) issued by the Italian Embassy/Consulate, OR the CIMEA Statement of Comparability together with the Statement of Verification ("jointly"). For qualifications from EHEA/Bologna-Process countries, a Diploma Supplement accompanied by the CIMEA Statement of Verification. Holders of qualifications from Lisbon-Convention signatory states may use the CIMEA ARDI platform for a Statement of Correspondence plus Statement of Verification.

  • 1) BRIEF CONFIRMED. Every parameter given in the research brief is confirmed by primary unina.it sources: level = master (Laurea Magistrale, 120 CFU), type = standalone (its own SUA-CdS record, own Didactic Regulations, own course codes — not a curriculum inside another degree), degree_class = LM-70, campus = Portici. No correction is needed. 2) ENGLISH-TAUGHT STATUS IS SOLID. Unlike some Federico II "(EN)" pages that turn out to be bilingual, this one is unambiguous: the orientation portal marks the language "ENG" (not ITA/ENG), the SUA-CdS extract in the Didactic Regulations says "Teaching language: English", every single module in the regulations is listed as English, the thesis is in English, and the scholarship decree calls it "entirely taught in English". The international course catalogue tags it "– ENG". Confidence: high. 3) DATA YEAR / RESEARCH DATE. Research performed 30 Ağustos 2026. The orientation course sheet is marked "UPDATED 2026/2027". The scholarship call is the 2026-27 edition (signed 27 May 2026, deadline 10 September 2026 — still open at the research date). The University fee/enrolment guide is the 2026-27 edition. The Didactic Regulations and the Manifesto/study plan available on the course site are the 2025-2026 editions (regol_sfs-2025-2026_eng_13_05_2025.pdf, manifesto-sfs_2025.pdf) — the admission rules quoted from them match the 2026/2027 orientation sheet word for word, so they are current in substance, but the study plan and elective list could change for 2026/27. 4) NO ADMISSION CALL EXISTS. Because the course is open access there is no bando di ammissione, no ranking and no admission decree. The How-to-enroll page's phrase "Call for applicants will be launched in mid-July and will close at the end of October" is misleading English for the University's enrolment window and should not be read as a competitive call. Anyone searching unina.it for an SFS admission bando will find only the scholarship call. 5) EU DEADLINE CONFLICT (three published versions). Programme page: "mid-July ... end of October" / "from September to October 31". University enrolment page: "from September 1 to October 31 of each year". 2026/27 student guide (most current and most specific): ordinary period 16 July 2026 – 2 November 2026, then €50 surcharge to 15 January 2027, €110 surcharge from 16 January 2027, with an absolute Master's-degree limit of 31 March 2027. Applicants should follow the student guide and confirm with the Student Secretariat. 6) NON-EU DATE ERROR IN THE OFFICIAL SOURCE. The University's own non-EU information sheet (UniversItaly_2026_27.pdf) states in one place "JAN 31 2027" as the matriculation deadline and in the body text "students who obtained visa are required to matriculate by 31 January 2026". The 2026 date is a typo; 31 January 2027 is the internally consistent reading for a.y. 2026/27. Furthermore, the interaction between that 31 January 2027 date and the University's ordinary 2 November 2026 deadline (plus late-enrolment surcharges) is not explained anywhere on unina.it. 7) NON-EU SEAT CONTINGENT NOT VERIFIABLE ON UNINA.IT. Italian universities declare an annual quota of places for non-EU candidates residing abroad on the Universitaly portal even for open-access courses. That figure for SFS is not published on any unina.it page and, because the task restricts sources to unina.it, it could not be verified. Do not assume there is no cap for non-EU-abroad candidates. 8) TUITION FIGURES CONFLICT INTERNALLY. international.unina.it publishes a flat scheme (EU €200 tuition + €140 regional tax + €16 stamp; non-EU €140 + €16) whose €140 regional tax matches none of the three 2026/27 brackets (€130 / €151 / €173) in the current student guide; the international page appears not to have been refreshed for 2026/27. The scholarship call and the student guide both confirm the underlying principle — foreign citizens are charged by citizenship, with a tuition discount, and effectively pay regional tax + stamp duty — but the exact euro amount is only "communicated upon enrollment". Treat any specific figure as provisional. 9) COORDINATOR / DIRECTOR NAME DISCREPANCY. The orientation portal (2026/2027) names Prof. Riccardo Aversano as Degree Programme Director; the department's own course page still names Prof. Luigi Cembalo as Coordinatore; the Didactic Regulations 2025/26 list Cembalo as a course lecturer. This matters practically because the pre-acceptance letter for non-EU applicants must be issued by "the Programme Coordinator". The orientation portal is the more recently updated source, but applicants should write to infosfs@unina.it rather than guessing. The department's Italian course page is otherwise stale: it still advertises the 2023 scholarship call with its 30 September 2023 deadline. 10) ENGLISH PLACEMENT TEST DETAILS UNPUBLISHED. No accepted-certificate list, no score table (IELTS/TOEFL/Cambridge equivalents to B2), no exemption rules and no published test dates were available at the research date — the SFS homepage says only "English placement test dates will be provided in September." The 30-hour remedial course for candidates who fail is described only inside the scholarship call, so it is not certain the same remedial route is offered to non-scholarship applicants. 11) PERSONAL-PREPARATION INTERVIEW DATES UNPUBLISHED. The Didactic Regulations state that "The minimum knowledge for access to the Master's Degree is established annually by the Teaching Commission, together with the dates set for the interviews", but no dates or minimum-knowledge syllabus for 2026/27 were published on unina.it. Every applicant with a foreign bachelor's degree falls into this interview route, so this is a material unknown for the target audience of this research. 12) BROKEN / MOVED LINKS ENCOUNTERED. https://www.en.agraria.unina.it/sfs-how-to-enroll and /sfs-studying return HTTP 404 to direct fetching and are only reachable via their Joomla page-builder URLs (index.php?option=com_sppagebuilder&view=page&id=40 and id=41); www.orientamento.unina.it presents an invalid TLS certificate chain to some clients. The department's English FAQ page (en.agraria.unina.it, id=5) is still filled with lorem-ipsum placeholder text and carries no real answers. 13) FREE-CHOICE / FIPDES. The second-year 10 CFU "Free choice" block is listed on the Studying page as 12 CFU and tagged "FIPDES" (the Erasmus Mundus Food Innovation and Product Design consortium); the orientation portal says 10 CFU / 70 hours. Minor inconsistency in the published study plan; suggested elective lists are updated annually (free_choice_sfs_2025_26.pdf). 14) "FURTHER LANGUAGE SKILLS" (3 CFU, year 2) is not specified as to which language. Since the whole programme is English-medium and no Italian requirement exists, it is plausible but unconfirmed that this covers English for specific purposes or a second foreign language. 15) SOURCES USED WERE RESTRICTED TO UNINA.IT as instructed (orientamento.unina.it, international.unina.it, agraria.unina.it, en.agraria.unina.it, unina.it and old.unina.it). Third-party aggregators and the Future Food Institute pages that surfaced in search were not used. One consequence: the Universitaly "Scheda" for the course, which would settle the non-EU contingent question, was deliberately not consulted.
