Kampüs

VIA CLAUDIO / PIAZZALE TECCHIO — the Fuorigrotta engineering campus in western Naples, NOT Monte Sant'Angelo, Policlinico, Portici, San Giovanni a Teduccio or Frullone. This RESOLVES the research brief's "campus: doğrulanacak / to be verified". PRIMARY ADDRESS (department seat, and the address the programme prints in its own page footer on every page): Dipartimento di Strutture per l'Ingegneria e l'Architettura, VIA CLAUDIO 21 (edifici / buildings 6-7), 80125 NAPOLI. The programme's international-student checklist is more precise still and gives the exact office: "Department of Structures for Engineering and Architecture, via Claudio 21, Napoli 80125 - BUILDING 6, 1° FLOOR — Educational Office opening time: from Monday to Friday 09:30 - 13:00 — Office telephone: +39 081 7683411 | +39 081 7682698 — Email: didattica.dist@unina.it". The same address (Building 6, first floor) is where scholarship holders sign their contract. WHERE TEACHING ACTUALLY HAPPENS — the orientation portal is explicit: "Le lezioni degli insegnamenti del CdS si svolgono prevalentemente presso le aule didattiche del DIST (Dipartimento di Strutture per l'Ingegneria e l'Architettura) e della SPSB (plesso di via Claudio)" — lectures are held predominantly in the teaching rooms of the DIST and of the Polytechnic School's VIA CLAUDIO complex. So both the department and the lecture halls sit on the same Fuorigrotta site; students are not scattered across the city. THE DEPARTMENT'S FOUR GEOREFERENCED SITES, as listed on the orientation portal and the DiSt page: Via Claudio 21, 80125 Napoli (main); PIAZZALE VINCENZO TECCHIO 80, 80125 Napoli (the historic Engineering faculty building, ~400 m from Via Claudio, same Fuorigrotta block); Via Forno Vecchio 36, 80134 Napoli; Via Monteoliveto 3, 80134 Napoli (the last two are in the historic city centre and are associated with the Architecture side of the Department). STUDENT RECORDS OFFICE (Segreteria Studenti): "Segreteria Studenti Area didattica Ingegneria" — this is the office where foreign-citizenship students must matriculate in person. Orientation desk for Engineering: Piazzale Tecchio 80, 80125 Napoli, tel. 081-7682646, fax 081-7682206, ingegneria.orienta@unina.it. ALSO USEFUL FOR AN INTERNATIONAL STUDENT: the University's INTERNATIONAL WELCOME DESK, which the programme tells arrivals to contact for the Questura/residence-permit paperwork, is at Largo Santa Maria La Nova 12, Napoli 80134, 1st floor on the left (Mon/Wed/Fri 10:00-14:00, Tue/Thu 10:00-16:30, +39 081 0482669 / +39 324 5947719, internationalwelcomedesk@unina.it) — a different, city-centre location from the teaching campus. ONLY IN THIS NARROW SENSE: no unina.it page names a single lecture theatre or fixes room allocation for the English pathway specifically, and the portal's wording is "prevalentemente" (predominantly), which leaves room for occasional sessions at Piazzale Tecchio or another DiSt site. The city and campus area — Fuorigrotta, Via Claudio/Piazzale Tecchio, 80125 Naples — are not in doubt. Live timetables are published at the programme's "Agenda attività didattiche" link.

OPEN ACCESS WITH A COMPULSORY ADMISSION CHECK — the orientation portal fact-sheet records the admission mode literally as "Accesso: VERIFICA DI PREPARAZIONE" (English version: "Admission: Verifica di preparazione", i.e. "preparation check"). There is NO numerus clausus, NO seat cap, NO ranked competitive selection and NO admission examination — but there is also no automatic right of entry, and this programme's gate is genuinely stricter and more quantified than the bare "open access" label used by many Federico II master's degrees. NOT A RESTRICTED-ACCESS COURSE: the programme does not appear in the University's index of "Corsi a numero programmato" and no bando di ammissione is published for it (see official_call_url). THE TWO COMPULSORY GATES (Art. 4 and Art. 5 of the Didactic Regulations in force from a.y. 2026/2027): "specific access criteria are envisaged concerning the possession of CURRICULAR REQUIREMENTS (in terms of specific CFUs obtained in sets of SSDs) and the COMPULSORY VERIFICATION OF THE ADEQUACY OF THE STUDENT'S PERSONAL PREPARATION." Art. 5 puts it beyond doubt: "Verification of personal preparation is ALWAYS MANDATORY, and only students who meet the curricular requirements can access it." The Italian original is blunter still: "La verifica della personale preparazione è obbligatoria in ogni caso, e possono accedervi solo gli studenti in possesso dei requisiti curriculari." The School-level framework is set by Decree of the Scuola Politecnica e delle Scienze di Base, DP no. 18 of 12/02/2015. WHAT MAKES THIS PROGRAMME UNUSUAL IS THAT THE CHECK IS NUMERIC AND PUBLISHED, not discretionary: there is a published minimum-CFU-per-SSD table AND a published minimum grade-average table (see academic_requirements). Federico II degrees that publish an explicit GPA threshold are the minority. THE PROGRAMME'S OWN PRE-SCREENING ROUTE — THE MOST IMPORTANT PRACTICAL INSTRUCTION ON THE WHOLE SITE, and it applies squarely to international applicants: "Those who, wishing to enroll in the Master's Degree in Structural and Geotechnical Engineering, show gaps in curricular requirements in SSD CFU AND/OR HAVE AN AVERAGE RATING LOWER THAN 24/30, BEFORE FORMALIZING THE ENROLLMENT MUST SEND A PRE-EVALUATION REQUEST TO THE TEACHING OFFICE FILLING IN THE FORM A available in Forms section. In this way, the Study Plan Commission will indicate to the student how to compile his/her study plan in order to recover possible educational gaps." Form A is at https://strega.unina.it/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/Form-A.pdf and is sent digitally to didattica.dist@unina.it. Note the 24/30 trigger: since a foreign transcript will rarely map cleanly onto the Italian 30-point scale, most non-Italian applicants should assume the pre-evaluation route applies to them. THE THREE APPLICANT ROUTES. (1) ITALIAN-QUALIFICATION APPLICANTS enrol online at www.segrepass.unina.it and are checked by the Segreteria. (2) EU APPLICANTS AND APPLICANTS LEGALLY RESIDENT IN THE EU holding a foreign qualification have "unrestricted access to university courses if you hold a foreign qualification corresponding to the required Italian qualification. In this case you have to send your academic documents to the Coordinator of the course you wish to enrol in to find out whether you meet the enrolment requirements" (international.unina.it). (3) NON-EU APPLICANTS RESIDING ABROAD must pre-enrol on the ministerial UNIVERSITALY portal, be evaluated, and obtain a pre-acceptance letter from the Programme Coordinator before a visa can be issued. The University warns: "pre-enrolment alone does not grant admission to degree programmes. In order to matriculate you also need to take and pass the verifications of the entry requirements and the admission procedures set for the degree programme of your interest", and "Important! The University of Naples Federico II does not issue admission letters for obtaining a visa." A SEPARATE, GENUINELY COMPETITIVE SELECTION EXISTS FOR THE DOUBLE DEGREE (not for admission to the degree itself): only "a maximum of 5 (five) students is admitted" to the UNINA-IST Lisbon pathway, ranked on degree grade, academic average, extracurricular experience and motivation, with the youngest candidate preferred on a tie. Applicants must already be enrolled in year 1 at UNINA (or enrol by 31 December of year 1, admitted with reserve).

BILINGUAL BY DESIGN — Italian and English — with a complete, officially tabulated pathway that can be taken ENTIRELY IN ENGLISH. This is the single most important thing to understand about this degree, and it is a materially different arrangement from a standard English-taught programme. THE OFFICIAL LABELS. The orientation portal fact-sheet header records "Lingua ITA/ENG" (English version: "Language ENG/ITA") — a PAIRED value, not the single "ENG" used for wholly English-taught Federico II degrees. The 2026/2027 Didactic Regulations record "Course language: Italian and English". Art. 1 states: "The CdS in Structural and Geotechnical Engineering is hinged in Civil Engineering, Department of Structures for Engineering and Architecture and is a course of study with an international character, AS IT ALSO ENVISAGES A COURSE OF STUDY ENTIRELY IN ENGLISH." Art. 2 elaborates: "The Master Degree in Structural and Geotechnical Engineering is international in character, in that it also provides a course of study entirely in English (Master Degree in Structural and Geotechnical Engineering), which represents a DIFFERENT PATHWAY FOR ACHIEVING THE SAME SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES. This pathway is tabulated in the course regulations, so as to be clearly identifiable by the student, although it simply gathers together teachings that are SUBSTANTIALLY EQUIVALENT TO THOSE IN ITALIAN." HOW IT WORKS IN PRACTICE — THE PAIRING MECHANISM. The 2026/2027 Study Plan pairs each mandatory Italian course with its English twin and marks the pair "Mandatory (one of your choice)". Concrete examples from the base table: "Fondazioni - I semester" (CEAR-05/A) is paired with "Static and seismic foundation design - II semester" (CEAR-05/A); "Dinamica delle Costruzioni ed ingegneria Sismica - I semester" (CEAR-07/A) is paired with "Earthquake engineering and structural control - I semester" (CEAR-07/A); "Teoria e Progetto delle costruzioni in c.a." is paired with "Theory and design of reinforced concrete structures". So the student picks a language per subject. The Regulations describe the same design from the Italian side: the first three mandatory courses each "prevede l'alternativa fra un insegnamento in lingua italiana ed il corrispondente in lingua inglese", and of the sixteen Construction-Technique courses available for one free slot, "cinque dei quali in lingua inglese" (five of which are in English). THE ENGLISH PATHWAY IS COMPLETE AND SELF-SUFFICIENT for the taught component: the 2026/2027 Study Plan's dedicated English table (headed "Course in English — Possibility for the student to opt for the route entirely in English") supplies mandatory and elective courses covering the whole 120 CFU, and the programme's own site publishes it as "Curriculum in English". Every course in that table is delivered "Frontal lesson", "In presence" — there is no distance or blended component; Art. 7 records "The teaching activity is carried out in the conventional mode." WHY THE ENGLISH PATHWAY EXISTS, in the University's own words: "The English language pathway... aims to attract international students. This feature represents an important added value also for students of Italian nationality enrolled in this course, as they will be able to benefit from the advantages of their educational experience in a multi-cultural environment. The training offer in English is more oriented towards the training of an engineer destined to operate in a globalised market and ready to carry out his or her activity in international contexts." THE RESIDUAL ITALIAN-EXPOSURE RISK, AND IT IS REAL — THREE SLOTS. (1) THE 9-CFU TAF D FREE-CHOICE SLOT ("Activity of choice from Table B"): Art. 9 provides that "the student has freedom of choice among all the courses activated at the University, provided they are consistent with the training project", assessed by the CCD; the University-wide catalogue it draws on is overwhelmingly Italian-taught, so an English-only student must deliberately pick from the English rows of Table B. (2) THE 9-CFU TAF C SLOT "Course of your choice from Table B": same exposure, though Table B is drawn from Tables A1/A2/A3 which do contain the English courses. (3) THE SECOND-YEAR ELECTIVE POOL: the English table offers 5 courses in semester 1 and 5 in semester 2 from which 2 + 2 must be chosen, so the English pathway is workable but noticeably NARROWER than the Italian one (the Italian side offers sixteen Construction-Technique options for one slot, against five in English). An English-track student therefore has genuinely less elective freedom. (4) ADMINISTRATIVE AND STUDENT-LIFE ITALIAN: the Study Plan forms (Form A, Form A Minor, Form B) and much departmental correspondence are Italian-first, and foreign-citizenship students must enrol IN PERSON at the Segreteria counter rather than online. WHAT IS NOT REQUIRED: NO ITALIAN-LANGUAGE QUALIFICATION IS REQUIRED to be admitted or to graduate on the English pathway. There is no Italian examination anywhere in the study plan, and the 1-CFU TAF F language item is "Knowledge of the ENGLISH language", not Italian. Free optional Italian courses for international students are available through the University Language Centre (CLA, https://www.cla.unina.it/). THESIS LANGUAGE: may be written in English (with an Italian abstract attached); in the Double Degree it MUST be written in English.

  • THERE IS NO COMPETITIVE APPLICATION DEADLINE for EU (and EU-equivalent) candidates, because the programme is open access with a preparation check: EU applicants do not compete for places, they enrol within the University's calendar once their qualification has been verified. FOUR SETS OF DATES APPLY, and they do not all agree — read to the end.
  • (A) QUALIFICATION EVALUATION — NO FIXED DATE, DO IT FIRST AND EARLY. Per international.unina.it, an EU candidate (or any candidate legally resident in the EU) holding a FOREIGN qualification must "send your academic documents to the Coordinator of the course you wish to enrol in to find out whether you meet the enrolment requirements". For this programme, send to didattica.dist@unina.it (Teaching Office) and/or glignola@unina.it (Coordinator).
  • (B) THE PROGRAMME'S OWN FORM A PRE-EVALUATION — the step most international applicants will need, and it has no published opening date, so start as soon as your transcript is final: "Those who... show gaps in curricular requirements in SSD CFU and/or have an average rating lower than 24/30, BEFORE FORMALIZING THE ENROLLMENT must send a pre-evaluation request to the Teaching Office filling in the form A."

AB / AEA dışı adaylar

  • For NON-EU applicants RESIDING ABROAD there is a hard, ministry-driven pipeline for a.y. 2026/2027, and for THIS programme the first date is effectively final because the course is open-access:
  • — 15 Haziran 2026: PRE-ENROLMENT APPLICATION DEADLINE on the UNIVERSITALY portal (www.universitaly.it), naming the University of Naples Federico II and this degree. Verbatim from international.unina.it: "JUNE – 15 – 2026 – Pre-enrolment application deadline to University of Naples Federico II. After this date no programme changes are permitted. AFTER THIS DATE PRE-ENROLMENT IS ALLOWED TO THE PROGRAMMES WITH RESTRICTED ACCESS ONLY." THIS IS THE OPERATIVE DEADLINE: because Ingegneria Strutturale e Geotecnica is open access ("Verifica di preparazione"), not restricted access, non-EU pre-enrolment for it CLOSES on 15 June 2026 and does NOT reopen.
  • — 30 Kasım 2026: deadline for lodging the study-visa application at the Italian Embassy/Consulate — "NOVEMBER – 30 – 2026 – Deadline for submitting the Visa Application at Italian Embassies/Consulates."

  • Seats (total): NO SEAT CAP — no total number of places is set or published for this programme. The orientation portal records the admission mode as "Accesso: Verifica di preparazione" (a preparation check), NOT "numero programmato"; the programme does not appear in the University's index of restricted-access courses ("Corsi a numero programmato") for a.y. 2026/2027; no bando di ammissione exists for it; and neither the Didactic Regulations in force from a.y. 2026/2027, the 2026/2027 Study Plan, the DiSt department page nor the central unina.it course record states a number of places or an "utenza sostenibile" figure. Art. 5.1 of the Regulations leaves scheduling to the CCD in general terms — "The CCD of the Degree Program normally regulates the admission criteria and any scheduling of enrolments, except in cases subject to different provisions of law" — without fixing any quota. PRACTICAL CONSEQUENCE FOR AN APPLICANT: there is no cut-off score to beat and no ranking list to climb. Your admission depends entirely on your own transcript meeting the published CFU/SSD table and grade-average thresholds, not on competition with other candidates. This is a genuinely different risk profile from a capped programme — you can assess your own chances in advance from the published tables. THE NUMBERS THAT DO EXIST ARE FOR SOMETHING ELSE ENTIRELY, and should not be mistaken for admission quotas: (a) the DOUBLE DEGREE with Instituto Superior Técnico Lisbon is capped — "A maximum of 5 (five) students is admitted to attend the course" — but that is a selection for a mobility pathway, open only to students ALREADY enrolled in year 1 at UNINA
  • (b) the Department's scholarship scheme for international students offered "n. 3 (tre) borse di studio" for a.y. 2025/2026 — again a funding competition, not an admission quota, and losing it does not affect admission
  • (c) the University-wide tutoring scheme makes "120 Tutors" available across the whole Polytechnic School. MARKED UNCERTAIN ONLY BECAUSE A NULL IS BEING REPORTED RATHER THAN A PUBLISHED NUMBER: no unina.it page states a figure, and none says in so many words that intake is unlimited. The absence of a cap is inferred from the "Verifica di preparazione" classification, the absence of a bando and the absence of the programme from the numero-programmato index — which is strong but indirect evidence. | Seats (non-EU reserved): NONE PUBLISHED ON UNINA.IT — because the programme has no seat cap at all (see seats_total), no reserved sub-quota for non-EU applicants residing abroad appears on any University of Naples Federico II page for this degree. Neither the Didactic Regulations in force from a.y. 2026/2027, the 2026/2027 Study Plan, the programme site strega.unina.it, the DiSt department page, the orientation portal fact sheet nor international.unina.it states a non-EU contingent for Ingegneria Strutturale e Geotecnica. WITH ONE STRUCTURAL CAVEAT THAT APPLIES TO EVERY ITALIAN DEGREE: Italian universities must still declare an annual contingent of places for non-EU visa students on the ministerial UNIVERSITALY portal even for open-access courses, and that per-course figure is published on universitaly.it — a domain outside the unina.it-only source restriction imposed by this research task. It could therefore not be verified here. Applicants should check the STReGA entry on universitaly.it for their target intake year, and write to didattica.dist@unina.it in parallel. WHAT UNINA.IT DOES PUBLISH IS A CAPACITY CONSTRAINT EXPRESSED AS A DATE RATHER THAN A NUMBER, and for an open-access programme this is the binding practical limit: "JUNE – 15 – 2026 – Pre-enrolment application deadline to University of Naples Federico II. After this date no programme changes are permitted. AFTER THIS DATE PRE-ENROLMENT IS ALLOWED TO THE PROGRAMMES WITH RESTRICTED ACCESS ONLY." Because STReGA is NOT a restricted-access programme, non-EU pre-enrolment for it simply CLOSES on that date and does not reopen — the practical effect of a quota, delivered as a cut-off date. A REAL, SEPARATE NUMBER THAT NON-EU APPLICANTS SHOULD KNOW ABOUT: the Department of Structures for Engineering and Architecture runs a scholarship scheme reserved to international students — "The selection process concerns the awarding of 3 (three) scholarships, each with a duration of 2 years and a total amount of € 12,000.00" (a.y. 2025/2026 call). Eligibility is automatic for "All foreign students regularly registered on Universitaly by the deadline of MAY 31 and who have been previously admitted to the first year", and "The submission of an application for participation is not required." That is three FUNDED places, not three admission places — everyone else who qualifies academically is still admitted. NON-EU APPLICANTS ALREADY LEGALLY RESIDENT IN ITALY OR THE EU are treated like EU applicants: they do not pre-enrol on Universitaly, are not subject to any contingent, and follow the calendar in application_deadline_eu instead.

  • ENGLISH AT CEFR B2 — a formal requirement written into the Didactic Regulations, applying to ALL students of this degree (not only those on the English pathway), and enforceable after enrolment through the University Language Centre. ITALIAN IS NOT REQUIRED at admission, for the visa, or for graduation on the English pathway.
  • THE REQUIREMENT (Art. 4.3 "Knowledge of English", Didactic Regulations in force from a.y. 2026/2027, verbatim): "Graduates of the Master's program in Structural and Geotechnical Engineering must be able to use at least one European Union language other than Italian—specifically English—fluently in both written and oral communication, WITH PROFICIENCY EQUIVALENT TO LEVEL B2. To this end, the program includes 1 credit hour of additional language training." Art. 4 adds that the access requirements include "the documented ability to use English fluently, in written and oral form, WITH REFERENCE ALSO TO DISCIPLINARY TERMINOLOGY" (Italian original: "la documentata capacità di utilizzare fluentemente, in forma scritta e orale, la lingua inglese con riferimento anche ai lessici disciplinari") — note that the standard is explicitly technical English, not general English.
  • WHICH CERTIFICATES ARE ACCEPTED — and this programme is NOTABLY MORE FLEXIBLE than most Federico II degrees. The programme's FAQ, answering "What are the entry requirements for the English-taught programme?", states: "Knowledge of the English language with a CERTIFICATION OF LEVEL B2 AS A MINIMUM. The most common certifications (TOEFL, IELTS, CAMBRIDGE, TRINITY COLLEGE LONDON, PEARSON) are certainly acceptable. A DEDICATED COMMITTEE SHALL EVALUATE THE SUITABILITY OF MORE INFORMAL CERTIFICATIONS, LIKE THOSE ISSUED BY UNIVERSITIES WHOSE OFFICIAL TEACHING LANGUAGE IS ENGLISH." TWO POINTS WORTH STRESSING: (i) the named list — TOEFL, IELTS, Cambridge, Trinity College London, Pearson — is illustrative ("the most common"), not closed
Sınav / değerlendirme
  • NO ADMISSION EXAMINATION OF ANY KIND — no written test, no TOLC, no TOLC-I, no SAT, no GRE/GMAT, no portfolio, and no compulsory interview. What replaces a test is a DOCUMENTARY assessment carried out by the Didactic Coordination Commission (CCD) and the Study Plan Committee, plus — only in specific circumstances — a small supplementary oral colloquium.
  • NO TOLC: the TOLC is used by the Scuola Politecnica e delle Scienze di Base for BACHELOR-level admission only. For two-year master's degrees the School applies the DM 270/04 framework instead: verification of curricular requirements plus verification of personal preparation, governed by the School's Decree DP no. 18 of 12/02/2015. Neither the Didactic Regulations, the orientation portal, the programme site nor the FAQ mentions any entrance test for STReGA.
  • THE ACTUAL ASSESSMENT — three components, all documentary: (1) CURRICULAR CHECK against the published minimum-CFU-per-SSD table (see academic_requirements)

    • THERE IS NO SINGLE CONSOLIDATED APPLICATION CHECKLIST FOR THIS PROGRAMME. The list below is assembled from the programme's own Form A process, its "Mind List" for international students, its FAQ, its scholarship call, and University-level sources — so the Teaching Office or the Study Plan Committee could request an additional item.
    • (1) PROGRAMME-SPECIFIC ITEMS — the ones that distinguish STReGA from a generic Federico II application:
    • — FORM A, "Verification of curricular and personal preparation requirements for access and presentation of the study plan" (https://strega.unina.it/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/Form-A.pdf), sent in digital format to didattica.dist@unina.it. Required BEFORE formalising enrolment by anyone with SSD credit gaps and/or an average below 24/30 — which in practice means most international applicants. "All the study plan forms must be sent in digital format to the email: didattica.dist@unina.it."

  • 1) THE RESEARCH BRIEF'S CLASSIFICATION IS WRONG IN THE UNIVERSITY'S OWN TERMS, AND THIS IS THE MOST CONSEQUENTIAL FINDING. The brief records "type: curriculum, curriculum_of: Ingegneria Strutturale e Geotecnica". But STReGA IS the acronym of "Ingegneria Strutturale e Geotecnica" itself, and "Structural and Geotechnical Engineering" is that degree's official English name — the two are the same programme, not a track and its parent. The Didactic Regulations state outright that "the course of study is NOT DIVIDED INTO SPECIFIC CURRICULA". What exists is a tabulated ENGLISH-LANGUAGE PATHWAY ("percorso formativo interamente in lingua inglese" / "Curriculum in English" in the site menu), which is a language option inside a single degree, chosen course-by-course, not a named curriculum. PRACTICAL EFFECTS: there is no separate application route for the English pathway; there is no separate seat allocation; and THE DIPLOMA DOES NOT NAME A TRACK — it will read "Laurea Magistrale in Ingegneria Strutturale e Geotecnica", class LM-23. The brief's "corso di studi bilingue" note and the IST Lisbon double degree are both CONFIRMED verbatim. 2) COORDINATOR — A DIRECT AND UNRESOLVED CONFLICT ACROSS OFFICIAL UNINA.IT PAGES, WITH THE PROGRAMME'S OWN SITE CONTRADICTING ITSELF. The orientation portal (updated a.a. 2026/2027) and the programme's own STAFF page both name PROF. GIAN PIERO LIGNOLA ("Coordinatore Didattico" / "Teaching Coordination Commission Coordinator", glignola@unina.it, 081 7683492). But the central unina.it course record, the DiSt department page AND the programme's own PRESENTATION page all still name "Prof. Emidio NIGRO". Lignola is almost certainly current — he is also named as the Engineering orientation reference contact on the central record itself, which makes that record internally inconsistent. PRACTICAL RISK: correspondence, and specifically a pre-acceptance letter request, addressed to the wrong professor. Use didattica.dist@unina.it (the Teaching Office) as the primary channel and copy glignola@unina.it. 3) THE 2026/2027 SSD REQUIREMENT TABLE CONTAINS A VISIBLE TRANSCRIPTION ERROR AND MIXED CODE GENERATIONS. The physics row is printed literally as "PHYS-01/03???" — question marks included — where the 2024/2025 table cleanly read "FIS/01 — 6". The first row "MATH/02, MAT/03" mixes a new-style and an old-style code. The table appears to have been only partially migrated to the post-2023 SSD nomenclature. Read the 2024/2025 Italian regulations alongside it for the intended meaning (MAT/03+MAT/05 18; FIS/01 6; ICAR/01+02 9; ICAR/04+05 9; ICAR/07 9; MAT/07+ICAR/08 18; ICAR/09 15; ICAR/06+10+17 9). 4) THE GRADE THRESHOLD FOR APPLICANTS FROM OTHER UNIVERSITIES WAS DROPPED FROM THE TABLE WITHOUT EXPLANATION — AND IT MATTERS MOST TO INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS. The 2024/2025 Italian regulations printed a fourth column: "Studenti provenienti da altri Atenei — D1 qualunque — M ≥ 24". The 2026/2027 English version shows only the three Federico II columns (M≥21 / 22.5 / 24 by study duration). Since every international applicant comes from another university, it is unclear which rule now binds them. The Study Plan page's independent use of 24/30 as the Form A trigger strongly suggests M ≥ 24 is still the working threshold. Plan against 24/30 and confirm with the Teaching Office. 5) HOW A FOREIGN GRADE MAPS ONTO THE ITALIAN 30-POINT SCALE IS NOWHERE EXPLAINED. The whole personal-preparation gate is expressed as an average "in thirtieths" weighted by CFU, and as a comparison of actual against normal study duration (D1 vs D2) — neither of which a foreign transcript states natively. No unina.it page for this programme publishes a conversion method. This is precisely why the Form A pre-evaluation exists; use it rather than guessing. 6) EU/GENERAL ENROLMENT WINDOW: THE OPENING DATES DIFFER BY SIX WEEKS BETWEEN TWO OFFICIAL SOURCES. The orientation portal for this course says enrolment runs "di norma, dal 1 settembre al 31 ottobre"; the binding University guide opens the ordinary period on 16 July 2026 and closes it on 2 November 2026. The closing dates reconcile (31 October 2026 is a Saturday, 2 November the following Monday); the opening dates do not. Compounding this, the orientation portal still links the PREVIOUS year's enrolment guide (guida_studente_rapida_25_26.pdf), so its date text may simply be stale. Be ready from 16 July 2026 and complete everything by 31 October 2026. 7) NON-EU DEADLINE: THERE IS A PROGRAMME-RELEVANT DATE TWO WEEKS EARLIER THAN THE UNIVERSITY-WIDE ONE. The University-wide Universitaly pre-enrolment deadline is 15 June 2026, but the Department's international scholarship call keys eligibility to registration on Universitaly "by the deadline of MAY 31" AND to having been "PREVIOUSLY ADMITTED" to the first year. Missing 31 May does not cost admission but does forfeit the EUR 12,000 scholarship, and the "previously admitted" wording implies the academic evaluation must already be complete by then. Start the Form A / transcript evaluation months earlier. 8) THE 31 JANUARY 2027 NON-EU MATRICULATION DATE COULD NOT BE MACHINE-VERIFIED. It comes from the University's 2026/2027 booklet "Information for non-EU students with residency abroad", whose PDF uses a non-standard font encoding that defeated text extraction during this research. The 15 June 2026 and 30 November 2026 dates WERE verified directly on international.unina.it. Re-check the matriculation date against the booklet before relying on it. 9) INTERNAL CONTRADICTION ON THE INTERNSHIP CREDITS INSIDE A SINGLE DOCUMENT. The 2026/2027 Study Plan's base table says "Internship — 8 CFU — 200 hours" plus a separate 1-CFU "Knowledge of the English language" line; its English-pathway table says "Internship — 9 ECTS — 225 h" and omits the 1-CFU English line. The orientation portal resolves it: 8 CFU/200 h applies to students matriculated from a.a. 2023/2024, 9 CFU/225 h was the earlier rule. The English-pathway table therefore appears to carry a stale row. The 120 CFU total is unaffected. The programme's website version of the English track is also out of date relative to the 2026/2027 PDF, which adds the integrated 9-ECTS course "Fundamentals of Structural and Geotechnical Engineering" (three modules) that the website table does not show. 10) THE ENGLISH PATHWAY IS COMPLETE BUT NARROWER THAN THE ITALIAN ONE, AND THIS IS A REAL TRADE-OFF RATHER THAN A DOCUMENTATION GAP. All mandatory subjects have English twins and the 120 CFU can be completed in English. But the Regulations note that of sixteen Construction-Technique options available for one free slot, only "five... are in English", and the English second-year table offers 5 + 5 electives against a much larger Italian pool. The 9-CFU TAF D free-choice slot draws on the whole University catalogue, which is overwhelmingly Italian-taught, so an English-only student must choose it deliberately. Expect materially less elective freedom than an Italian-speaking classmate. 11) B2 ITALIAN EXEMPTION — A DRAFTING GAP, PLUS A CLASSIFICATION RISK SPECIFIC TO THIS DEGREE. international.unina.it exempts "three-year, five-year or single-cycle degree course[s] in ENGLISH" from the B2 Italian requirement but does not repeat "magistral degree course" in the exemption, although the parallel Italian-taught clause does name it. Separately — and more pointedly here than for a wholly English-taught degree — STReGA is formally registered as BILINGUAL ("Lingua ITA/ENG", "Course language: Italian and English"), so a Universitaly reviewer or consular officer could in principle treat it as Italian-taught and ask for B2 Italian. Nothing on unina.it says this happens, and the programme itself imposes no Italian requirement of any kind, but applicants should carry the Art. 4.3 text and the FAQ answer and confirm with the Teaching Office before their visa appointment. 12) NO ENGLISH-CERTIFICATE RECENCY RULE AND NO CLOSED PROVIDER LIST ARE PUBLISHED — which is favourable, but means the decision is discretionary. The FAQ names TOEFL, IELTS, Cambridge, Trinity College London and Pearson as "certainly acceptable" and leaves "more informal certifications, like those issued by Universities whose official teaching language is English" to "a dedicated committee". No expiry window is stated (several sister programmes at Federico II impose a two-year limit). If you are relying on an English-medium degree rather than a test, get that confirmed in writing before you apply. 13) NO ADMISSION INTERVIEW IS ANNOUNCED EITHER WAY. Unlike some Federico II English-taught degrees, STReGA's pages neither promise nor exclude an interview for non-EU applicants in the pre-acceptance process. The only oral elements documented are the two 3-CFU "Supplementary Colloquia" used to close a specific 3-CFU gap in hydraulics or geotechnics, and the discretionary "supplementary assessment procedures" the CCD may impose on applicants who miss the automatic criteria — whose format, language and standard are unpublished. 14) REGIONAL-TAX FIGURE PUBLISHED INCONSISTENTLY: international.unina.it says a flat EUR 140/year for both EU and non-EU students; the binding 2026/27 Guida gives bands of EUR 130 / 151 / 173, with EUR 173 applying to anyone filing no ISEEU declaration — which is most international students. Budget EUR 151-173. The tuition components (EUR 200 for EU citizens, full exemption for non-EU citizens) agree across all sources. 15) VISA PROOF-OF-MEANS FIGURE NOT YEAR-LABELLED. The EUR 10,179.85/year entry-visa figure on international.unina.it carries no academic year, and the same page separately gives EUR 6,079.45/year (EUR 467.95/month), which relates to residence-permit renewal rather than the entry visa. Treat EUR 10,179.85 as the currently published entry-visa figure rather than a confirmed 2026/27-specific one. 16) NO CONSOLIDATED APPLICATION CHECKLIST EXISTS for this programme; required_documents is assembled from Form A, the "Mind List", the FAQ, the scholarship call and University-level sources, so an additional item could be requested. Note in particular that the "Mind List" is an ON-ARRIVAL checklist for the Educational Office, not an application checklist — do not mistake one for the other. 17) THE SCHOLARSHIP CALL VERIFIED HERE IS FOR A.Y. 2025/2026, NOT 2026/2027. No 2026/2027 equivalent had been posted at the time of research. The scheme's existence, size (3 × EUR 12,000 over two years) and automatic, no-application mechanism are confirmed for 2025/2026 only; watch https://strega.unina.it/en/category/scholarships/ for the current year. The call also contains an internal drafting error, referring in Art. 7 to "the total of SIX scholarships" where Arts. 1 and 6 both say three. 18) NON-EU SEAT CONTINGENT NOT VERIFIABLE FROM UNINA.IT — the per-course non-EU quota that Italian universities declare for open-access degrees is published on universitaly.it, outside this task's unina.it-only source restriction. See non_eu_reserved_seats. 19) THE SCHOOL-LEVEL ADMISSION DECREE COULD NOT BE LOCATED. Art. 5 says admission criteria for master's degrees are governed by "the Decree issued by the Scuola Politecnica e delle Scienze di Base (DP no. 18 of 12/02/2015)", including the procedures for extinguishing an OFA, but that decree is not published as a standalone document on scuolapsb.unina.it. 20) THE ORIENTATION PORTAL SERVED AN INVALID TLS CERTIFICATE CHAIN during this research, so both orientamento.unina.it course pages had to be retrieved with certificate verification relaxed. The content is genuine (it is the University's own orientation portal, "Aggiornata a.a. 2026/2027"), but a browser may show a security warning. 21) ACADEMIC-YEAR BASIS AND CURRENCY. All dates and amounts in this record are for A.Y. 2026/2027 and were gathered on 30 Ağustos 2026. By that date the 15 June 2026 non-EU pre-enrolment deadline had already passed and the EU/general enrolment window was open. A NON-EU APPLICANT READING THIS MUST TARGET A.Y. 2027/2028 and re-check every date. Note also that the newest teaching calendar published on the programme site is for a.a. 2025/2026 (first period 15/09/2025-19/12/2025 pattern; exam calendar May-November 2026), so 2026/2027 semester dates should be re-checked at https://strega.unina.it/en/modulistica/#calendari .

“IDENTITY AND CLASSIFICATION — Didactic Regulations in force from a.y. 2026/2027, Art. 1: "These Didactic Regulations govern the organisational aspects of the Master's Degree in Structural and Geotechnical Engineering (class LM-23). The CdS in Structural and Geotechnical Engineering is hinged in Civil Engineering, Department of Structures for Engineering and Architecture and is a course of study with an international character, as it also envisages a course of study entirely in English. Name of the course in English: Structural and Geotechnical Engineering | Class: LM-23 – Civil Engineering | Course language: Italian and English | Course delivery methods: conventional study course." Art. 2: "As can be seen from the extensive description above, THE COURSE OF STUDY IS NOT DIVIDED INTO SPECIFIC CURRICULA." Italian original (2024/25 regulations): "il corso di studi non è articolato in specifici curricula." THE ENGLISH PATHWAY — Art. 2: "The Master Degree in Structural and Geotechnical Engineering is international in character, in that it also provides a course of study entirely in English (Master Degree in Structural and Geotechnical Engineering), which represents a different pathway for achieving the same specific educational objectives. This pathway is tabulated in the course regulations, so as to be clearly identifiable by the student, although it simply gathers together teachings that are substantially equivalent to those in Italian." And: "The English language pathway... aims to attract international students. This feature represents an important added value also for students of Italian nationality enrolled in this course, as they will be able to benefit from the advantages of their educational experience in a multi-cultural environment. The training offer in English is more oriented towards the training of an engineer destined to operate in a globalised market and ready to carry out his or her activity in international contexts." Italian original on the pairing mechanism: "il primo insegnamento obbligatorio... prevede l'alternativa fra un insegnamento in lingua italiana ed il corrispondente in lingua inglese"; and of sixteen Construction-Technique options for one slot, "cinque dei quali in lingua inglese". BILINGUAL SELF-DESCRIPTION — orientamento.unina.it (Italian, updated a.a. 2026/2027): "La Laurea Magistrale in Ingegneria Strutturale e Geotecnica (STReGA), incardinata nel Dipartimento di Strutture per l'ingegneria e l'Architettura (DIST), è un CORSO DI STUDI BILINGUE, offrendo anche un percorso formativo interamente in lingua inglese (MSc in Structural and Geotechnical Engineering)." English version: "The Master's Degree in Structural and Geotechnical Engineering (STReGA), offered by the Department of Structures for Engineering and Architecture (DIST), is a bilingual program that also offers a track taught entirely in English (MSc in Structural and Geotechnical Engineering)." Art. 4 (Italian original): "Detti requisiti prevedono, tra l'altro, la documentata capacità di utilizzare fluentemente, in forma scritta e orale, la lingua inglese con riferimento anche ai lessici disciplinari." Art. 4.1: "The curricular requirements for admission are - as a rule - automatically possessed by graduates of the degree courses of class no. 8 in civil and environmental engineering pursuant to Ministerial Decree 509/99 and the degree courses of class L-7 in civil and environmental engineering pursuant to Ministerial Decree 270/04 who have followed the generalist or passing curriculum. Enrolment on the course is not permitted if more than 27 CFUs of the minimum curricular requirements specified in the following table are lacking." Art. 5: "Verification of personal preparation is always mandatory, and only students who meet the curricular requirements can access it." Italian original: "La verifica della personale preparazione è obbligatoria in ogni caso, e possono accedervi solo gli studenti in possesso dei requisiti curriculari." (**) Students who have already completed 6 CFU in SSD CEAR-05 can make up for it with a 3 CFU Supplementary Colloquium in SSD CEAR-05." CREDIT-GAP RULE — Art. 4.1: "Graduates who do not meet these requirements for an overall difference not exceeding 27 CFU will be allowed to propose, as part of the 120 CFU envisaged for the Master's degree, an educational pathway that envisages the passing of examinations of the degree course such as to compensate for the existing deficiencies highlighted by the failure to meet the minimums in the table." And: "Should these integrations correspond to a relatively limited number of credits (max 18 CFU), they will be agreed with the Study Plan Committee and included in the study plan that will provide more than 120 CFU for the Master's Degree. If, on the other hand, the additional integrations requested exceed the above-mentioned limit, the corresponding credits must necessarily be acquired prior to enrolment in the Master's Degree Course." GRADE-AVERAGE GATE — Art. 4.2: "Verification of the fulfilment of the requirements relating to the student's personal preparation will be carried out, exclusively for students enrolled after 1 September 2011, on the basis of the average M of the marks (in thirtieths) obtained in the proficiency examinations for the degree, weighted on the basis of the relative consistencies in CFUs, as well as the duration of studies D1 expressed in course years, compared with the normal duration D2 of the course." AUTOMATIC ADMISSION CRITERIA table (2026/27): "D1=D2 → M≥21 | D1=D2+1 → M≥22.5 | D1≥D2+2 → M≥24". The 2024/25 Italian table adds a fourth column: "Studenti provenienti da altri Atenei — D1 qualunque — M≥24". And: "In the presence of applications for admission... from students who do not meet the criteria for automatic admission, the relevant Academic Coordination Committee examines the applications on the basis of the curriculum acquired and, in the event of a positive assessment, prepares supplementary assessment procedures to verify the personal preparation of these students. The assessment may provide for the identification of a training debt and the consequent allocation of an Additional Training Obligation (OFA)." THE FORM A RULE — strega.unina.it Study plan page: "Those who, wishing to enroll in the Master's Degree in Structural and Geotechnical Engineering, show gaps in curricular requirements in SSD CFU and/or have an average rating lower than 24/30, before formalizing the enrollment must send a pre-evaluation request to the Teaching Office filling in the form A available in Forms section. In this way, the Study Plan Commission will indicate to the student how to compile his/her study plan in order to recover possible educational gaps." Dates: "1st September - 31st October for presentation of the study plan for the first enrolling in the LM STReGA; 1st September - 31st October for variation in a previously submitted study plan"; "The Study Plan must be submitted within 15 days from enrollment"; "All the study plan forms must be sent in digital format to the email: didattica.dist@unina.it". ENGLISH REQUIREMENT — Art. 4.3 "Knowledge of English": "Graduates of the Master's program in Structural and Geotechnical Engineering must be able to use at least one European Union language other than Italian—specifically English—fluently in both written and oral communication, with proficiency equivalent to level B2. To this end, the program includes 1 credit hour of additional language training. It is recommended that students meet this requirement at the start of the program: upon enrollment, students may submit appropriate certification of B2-level English proficiency, which will be reviewed and, if applicable, recognized by the Program Committee. In the absence of such certification, the student may take a test at the CLA (University Language Center) to assess B2-level proficiency. If the test result is negative, the student may take a 'tailored' course with a final exam, also organized by the CLA, to verify attainment of the B2 level of English proficiency." THE FAQ — strega.unina.it, "What are the entry requirements for the English-taught programme?": "Bachelor in Civil Engineering or an equivalent degree. Equivalence shall be evaluated by a dedicated internal committee upon scrutiny of your Transcript of Records (reporting a detailed summary of the exams passed for the BSc). Knowledge of the English language with a certification of level B2 as a minimum. The most common certifications (TOEFL, IELTS, Cambridge, Trinity College London, Pearson) are certainly acceptable. A dedicated committee shall evaluate the suitability of more informal certifications, like those issued by Universities whose official teaching language is English." STRUCTURE — Art. 9: "The student must acquire 120 CFU, attributable to the following Types of Training Activities (TAF): B) characterising, C) related or supplementary, D) at the student's choice, E) for the final exam, F) further training activities." orientamento.unina.it: "La Laurea Magistrale si consegue mediante l'acquisizione di 120 Crediti Formativi Universitari (CFU) con il superamento degli esami, in numero non superiore a 12, e lo svolgimento delle altre attività formative." 2026/2027 Study Plan heading over the English block: "Course in English — Possibility for the student to opt for the route entirely in English." ATTENDANCE — Art. 10: "In consideration of the type of teaching organisation..., as a rule attendance is compulsory for all training activities. In particular, for courses that include Laboratory activities, attendance at at least 70% of them is a prerequisite for access to assessment." And: "Attendance at seminar activities that award training credits is compulsory." FINAL EXAM — Art. 16: "The final examination consists of the discussion of a master's thesis prepared by the student in an original manner under the guidance of one or more supervisors, at least one of whom is a lecturer at the University of Naples Federico II." "The thesis may also be written in English, especially in cases where the work has been carried out within the framework of research projects or internationalisation programmes."
