MINIMUM GRADE: a weighted average of the examinations taken for the Bachelor's degree (final exam excluded) of at least 22/30 or equivalent. Applicants with a weighted average of 24/30 or higher are admitted directly; applicants between 22/30 and 23.99/30 are admitted only after passing an oral interview assessing the adequacy of their personal preparation; applicants below 22/30 are excluded. NO CONDITIONAL ENROLMENT: 'Non e prevista l'iscrizione con debito formativo' - enrolment carrying an academic debt is not allowed; missing curricular requirements must be made up beforehand by enrolling in Single Courses for Master's Degrees (Corsi singoli) and passing the exams before the enrolment deadline, and additional credits (crediti formativi aggiuntivi) may be prescribed by the Committee. It can be evidenced by: an international certificate of equivalent or higher level recognised by DICAM (the department publishes a dedicated PDF list, 'Certificazioni internazionali di inglese riconosciute dal Dipartimento di Ingegneria Civile, Ambientale e Meccanica'); or a self-declaration of having completed a degree programme taught in English; or a self-declaration of having passed the English language test of the UniTrento Language Centre (CLA) or of another university; or a self-declaration of being a native English speaker. Passing a university English exam at B2 during the Bachelor's is also accepted. MAKE-UP ROUTE: applicants who cannot certify B2 may sit the English test organised by UniTrento at the CLA - written part in person in Trento, oral part online. For non-EU applicants under the university-wide call, Note 3 of the call lists the accepted proofs of English at B2 or above specifically for Ingegneria Civile (LM23R): being a native English speaker (defined as having completed at least two cycles of education in that language), being a citizen of a country whose official language is English, holding an internationally recognised certificate at B2 or above from the CLA list, having completed a Bachelor's degree whose official language of instruction is English, or presenting a transcript of records clearly attesting a university English exam passed at level B2 or above (a transcript without an explicit level is not sufficient). ITALIAN - REQUIRED IN PRACTICE FOR MOST APPLICANTS. It can be proved with a CLIQ-system certificate (CILS, CELI, PLIDA, ROMA3); with an Italian secondary-school diploma from Italian state or state-recognised schools abroad; with one of the final secondary qualifications listed in Annex 2 of the yearly ministerial circular; with Argentinian complementary certificates attesting at least 5 years of Italian teaching under Law 210/1999; with the Diploma di lingua e cultura italiana of the Universities for Foreigners of Perugia or Siena; or by passing the CISIA Italian L2 test with a score of at least 52/72 (120 minutes, three parts - listening, reading, language structures, 72 questions). The deadline for taking the CISIA Italian L2 test at institutions other than UniTrento was 4 March 2026, and UniTrento organised its own ad hoc CISIA session on 26 March 2026. The Italian check is pass/fail and does not contribute to the ranking score. (2) All other non-native Italian speakers: Programme Regulations Art. 2 provide that candidates whose mother tongue is not Italian, who intend to attend a curriculum not delivered entirely in English or who have not completed at least one cycle of secondary education in Italian, must have their Italian verified - by an international certificate recognised by the University, by self-declaring a university exam passed in Italian, or by passing a written test or interview with the Teaching Area Committee. The Italian admission page states this as Italian at least at level B2 for anyone choosing a curriculum with compulsory activities in Italian.
