Kampüs

Trento - Povo campus. The programme belongs to the Department of Cellular, Computational and Integrative Biology (CIBIO). The programme page gives the teaching location as "PovoZero, Via Sommarive 14, 38123 Povo (TN)", while the CIBIO department address is given elsewhere as Via Sommarive 9, 38123 Trento (Povo). Both addresses are on the same Povo science campus south-east of Trento.

Kabul Tipi

Restricted access (numero programmato / "Programmed" access) via a public selection based on qualifications and, if appropriate, an interview. Entry is restricted to 60 places in total for 2026/2027, of which 2 places are reserved for non-EU citizens living abroad and 58 places are for Europeans and equivalents. Any places left unassigned after the first (non-EU) round are made available to EU citizens and non-EU citizens currently resident in Italy. There is no TOLC, no SAT and no written entrance examination. Applications are split into two separate sessions by applicant category: Session I for Non-Europeans only, Session II for Europeans and equivalents only. Two distinct ranking lists are drawn up. Applications are submitted through the UniTrento Apply portal (webapps.unitn.it/Apply), logging in via SPID, CIE, a @unitn.it username, or a temporary @guest.unitn.it account.

Resmî Eğitim Dili

Fully English. Article 1.2 of the official 2026/2027 call for admission states plainly that the official language of the course is English, and the programme pages list LANGUAGE: English with no Italian-language track (percorso) and no mixed English/Italian delivery. There is no Italian-language twin of this degree at UniTrento, so this is case (1) - entirely English-taught. Italian language proficiency is not an admission requirement; English at CEFR B2 (4 skills) is mandatory for every applicant, EU and non-EU alike. Lessons are held in person only.

AB / AEA adayları

Academic year 2026/2027, Session II (Europeans and equivalents only): applications open 21 April 2026 and close 30 June 2026 at 12:00 noon CET. Bachelor's degree must be obtained by 31 October 2026 for Europeans and equivalents (and for non-Europeans graduating in Italy holding a valid study residence permit). Note: as of 31 August 2026 this window has already closed; the 2027/2028 call is expected to be published around December 2026, as UniTrento normally publishes this call in December.

AB / AEA dışı adaylar

Academic year 2026/2027, Session I (Non-Europeans residing outside Italy only): 4 March 2026 at 12:00 noon CET. English B2 certification had to be held by this same application deadline for Session I candidates. Bachelor's degree must be obtained by 30 June 2026 for non-EU citizens graduating abroad. After confirmation, pre-enrolment on Universitaly must be completed within 2 weeks of confirmation, and the Italian visa must be obtained no later than 30 September 2026, otherwise admission is forfeited. Note: as of 31 August 2026 this deadline has passed.

Kabul koşulları

Akademik geçmiş
  • Degree requirement (2026/2027 call, Art. 2.2.A): (i) a Bachelor's or higher degree awarded in Italy in Biotechnologies (Italian class L-2)
  • OR (ii) a Bachelor's or higher degree awarded in Italy in a class other than L-2, provided the study plan includes at least 9 CFU/ECTS in SSD CHIM/01, CHIM/03, CHIM/06; at least 12 CFU in SSD MAT/01-MAT/09, FIS/01-FIS/08, INF/01, SECS-S/01, SECS-S/02; and at least 40 CFU in SSD BIO/06, BIO/09, BIO/10, BIO/11, BIO/13, BIO/14, BIO/18, BIO/19
  • OR (iii) a Bachelor's degree obtained under a system that does not use ECTS credits, or a degree earned abroad and recognised as eligible - in this case the curricular requirement is assessed by evaluating the consistency of the content and educational objectives of the courses taken against the same disciplinary sectors listed above. In practice this means a Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology, or in any Biotechnology-related field from an internationally recognised university, whose study plan proves basic knowledge and competencies in cellular and molecular biotechnology, biochemistry, chemistry, mathematics, statistics and physics. Places and quota: 60 places in total for 2026/2027, including 2 places reserved for non-EU citizens living abroad and 58 for Europeans and equivalents; unassigned places after the first round go to EU citizens and non-EU citizens resident in Italy. Graduation deadlines: applicants may apply before graduating, provided the first-cycle degree is obtained by 30 June 2026 (non-EU citizens graduating abroad) or 31 October 2026 (EU citizens and equivalents, and non-EU citizens graduating in Italy with a valid Italian study residence permit); the expected graduation date must be declared in the online application. Eligibility threshold: a selection score of at least 50/100. Recognition of foreign degrees is governed by Annexes 1 and 2 of the Italian Ministerial Circular published on Universitaly and by ENIC-NARIC criteria
Dil yeterliliği
  • English at CEFR level B2 or higher in all 4 skills is mandatory for every applicant. It must be attested by the application deadline (4 March 2026 for the non-EU Session I) in one of the following ways: (a) an international English certificate
  • (b) having passed a B2-or-higher English language exam at another university, where the 4 skills and the level are both tested and certified
  • (c) a Bachelor's degree run entirely in English, duly certified - in practice a written statement issued by the home university stating that English is the official teaching language of the degree
Sınav / değerlendirme
  • No TOLC, no SAT and no standardised written entrance test. Selection is by evaluation of qualifications carried out by a three-member Admissions Committee (which may meet by video conference), scoring up to 100 points as follows: (a) coherence between the candidate's previous studies and the objectives of the Master - max 20 points
  • (b) curriculum studiorum (GPA, performance and results in previous studies, post-graduate degrees if any, other courses) - max 60 points
  • (c) statement of purpose (max 500 words), further language competences and video presentation - max 20 points. A mandatory 3-minute self-presentation video (submitted as a URL link) is part of the dossier; it is evaluated only if the candidate first reaches a minimum combined score on criteria (a) and (b), since below that threshold the 50/100 eligibility bar is mathematically unreachable. An interview (in person or by videoconference) is NOT systematic - it is held only where the submitted documents do not allow the Committee to evaluate the application adequately, in which case the candidate may also be asked for further documents or certificates. Candidates scoring 50/100 or above are deemed eligible; ties are broken in favour of the younger candidate. A separate English language test at the Centro Linguistico di Ateneo (CLA) exists, but only for candidates who cannot otherwise document B2 English (written part in person in Trento at the CLA, speaking part online; five sessions run between March and October 2026).

Hazırlanacak belgeler

    • Uploaded with the online application on the UniTrento Apply portal: (a) a copy of a valid passport showing photo and personal data pages only (non-EU citizens), or an identity card for Europeans and equivalents who do not log in through a digital identity
    • (b) a copy of the Bachelor's degree certificate if already awarded, or a certificate of enrolment stating the expected graduation date - Italian-university graduates instead submit a self-declaration under DPR 445/2000, and UniTrento students/graduates do not need to upload it at all
    • (c) a transcript of academic records listing all courses, exams and marks awarded, the weighted average mark and the minimum-to-maximum range of marks - undergraduate candidates must also list examinations not yet passed

  • 1) ACCESS LIMITATION AND HOW IT WAS HANDLED: corsi.unitn.it, www.unitn.it, offertaformativa.unitn.it and infostudenti.unitn.it are all behind an AWS WAF bot-protection layer that returns HTTP 405/403/503 and serves a 'Human Verification' challenge to non-browser clients. That challenge was deliberately NOT bypassed. Instead, the two admission pages and the programme page were read from Internet Archive snapshots taken on 19 April 2026 and 11 March 2026, and - most importantly - the official English-language 2026/2027 call for admission PDF (admission-call-master-bcm-26-27.pdf, 14 pages, published December 2025) was retrieved in full and is the primary source for almost every figure above. Confidence in this record is therefore high; the residual risk is that the live pages were amended after April 2026 without the archive capturing it. 2) ADMISSION YEAR AND TIMING: 2026/2027 is the most recent published year and is used throughout. As of the research date (31 August 2026) BOTH 2026/2027 windows have already closed (non-EU 4 March 2026; EU 30 June 2026). No 2027/2028 call had been published at the time of checking; UniTrento normally publishes this call in December, so the 2027/2028 call is expected around December 2026 with a comparable structure. Anyone using this record for a prospective applicant should treat the dates as the shape of the cycle, not as live deadlines. 3) BINDING VERSION: the English call PDF carries an explicit disclaimer that it is 'a courtesy translation produced with the support of AI-assisted tools' and that 'the only legally binding version of the call is the Italian one' (bando-ammissione-lm-bcm-26-27.pdf). The Italian binding text was not read; minor translation-induced discrepancies are possible. The English PDF itself contains visible typos and a duplicated sub-item letter 'e' in the document list (Art. 3.4), and Art. 3 says the statement of purpose is 'max 1 page' while Art. 4 says 'max. 500 words' - an internal inconsistency in the source, reported as-is. 4) SELECTION SCORING - CONFLICTING FIGURES ACROSS YEARS: search-engine snippets of the programme site describe the scoring as 'coherence ... up to 35 points' and 'statement of purpose, further language competences, other certifications or academic experiences ... up to 15 points'. Those figures belong to an earlier (2025/2026) edition of the call. The 2026/2027 PDF read directly gives 20 / 60 / 20, and those are the figures recorded above. 5) CAMPUS ADDRESS: the programme page gives the teaching location as PovoZero, Via Sommarive 14, while CIBIO's departmental address is cited elsewhere as Via Sommarive 9. Both are on the Povo campus; which building hosts the teaching versus the department could not be resolved, so campus is flagged uncertain. 6) INTERVIEW: this programme is NOT an interview-by-default degree. The interview is conditional (Art. 4.5) and only triggered when the dossier is insufficient, which distinguishes it from sibling UniTrento LM programmes such as Physics where an interview is the norm. 7) SCHOLARSHIP COUNT: the number of scholarships for non-Europeans is deliberately not stated in the call - Art. 7.1 says it 'will be disclosed at the same time as the publication of the ranking'. No ranking document for 2026/2027 was located. 8) NAMING / DRAFT MAPPING: this record resolves the ambiguous draft entry 'Molecular/Biomolecular Sciences'. Note that UniTrento also runs a separate PhD programme called 'Biomolecular Sciences' (www.unitn.it/en/phd/biomolecular-sciences) - a doctoral programme, not this LM-9 Master's - and a separate LM programme 'Bioengineering for Personalized Medicine' with its own distinct call. Do not conflate the three. 9) SOURCE DOMAINS OUTSIDE THE ALLOWED LIST: orienta.unitn.it and cibio.unitn.it are within the allowed list and were read live. offertaformativa.unitn.it and infostudenti.unitn.it appeared in search results and were used only for cross-checking via snippets; they are official UniTrento subdomains but were not in the supplied allowed-domain list and could not be fetched directly in any case. 10) TRACKS: the orienta page mentions three specialisation tracks (Neurobiology, Cancer Biology, Microbes & Infections) plus a research laboratory placement in the final semester; this was not cross-verified against the programme regulations (manifesto) and is not an admission requirement.

  • Tuition and fees link note: https://www.unitn.it/en/study/fees-scholarships-accommodation/tuition-fees (non-EU citizens, Master's degrees in English: https://www.unitn.it/en/study/fees-scholarships-accommodation/tuition-fees/non-eu-citizens/masters-degrees-english ; non-EU citizens, degree programmes in English: https://www.unitn.it/en/study/fees-scholarships-accommodation/tuition-fees/non-eu-citizens/degree-programmes-english ; EU and related countries: https://www.unitn.it/en/study/fees-scholarships-accommodation/tuition-fees/eu-and-related-countries). Key figures from the 2026/2027 call itself: for non-EU citizens living abroad the maximum annual tuition is EUR 10,000, reduced according to the admission score - full tuition waiver for a score of 90-100/100, EUR 1,000 for 70-89.99/100, EUR 3,000 for 60-69.99/100, EUR 6,500 for 50-59.99/100. In the second year, non-EU students who paid fees in year one are fully exempted if they earn at least 42 ECTS by 10 August 2027 (EUR 1,000 for 36-41 CFU, EUR 3,000 for 24-35 CFU, EUR 6,500 for 6-23 CFU, EUR 10,000 for fewer than 6 CFU). Scholarships for non-Europeans go to top-ranked candidates scoring at least 70/100; the number of scholarships is disclosed only when the ranking is published, the scholarship carries a tuition exemption, is paid only after arrival in Italy, and is not compatible with MAECI, Universita a colori-Unicolor or Invest your Talent in Italy scholarships. For Europeans and equivalents, tuition is income-based (ISEE) and scholarships require a separate annual application.
