There is no numero programmato, no ranking and no entrance test on this route: admission is a verification of the curricular and language requirements, plus - only if the bachelor's final grade is below 90/110 - a selection interview with the President of the programme. (B) NON-EUROPEANS RESIDING OUTSIDE ITALY: RESTRICTED ACCESS with a reserved quota of 4 places, awarded through a competitive public selection under the university-wide call 'Bando unico di Ateneo per l'ammissione ai corsi di laurea magistrale in lingua italiana', academic year 2026/2027 (Rectoral Decree 1419/2025 of 16 December 2025, Annex 1). UniTrento's remedy is enrolment in 'Single courses for master's degrees' with the missing exams passed before the enrolment deadline. PERSONAL PREPARATION: bachelor's final grade of at least 90/110 (or equivalent); below that, a selection interview with the President of the programme is compulsory. For the NON-EU selection the equivalent merit threshold is 80% of the maximum grade of the applicant's own grading scale, and an application below 80% is only admissible after an interview with the commission assessing the eligibility of the candidacy; in addition the previous degree must include exams in at least two of the following areas: political science, general sociology, economic policy, public-law institutions, contemporary history, political economy, history of economic thought, sociology of cultural and communicative processes, sociology of economic and labour processes, environmental and territorial sociology, sociology of political phenomena, political-economic geography, demo-ethno-anthropological disciplines. UniTrento may require a CIMEA Statement of Verification and/or Statement of Comparability for foreign qualifications. No standardised entrance test of any kind (no TOLC, no CEnT, no SAT, no GRE/GMAT) and no written admission exam. (A) EUROPEANS AND EQUIVALENTS: admission is by requirement check only. An INTERVIEW is triggered in one case - a bachelor's final grade below 90/110: 'You must have a graduation grade of minimum 90/110, or equivalent. With a lower mark you need to pass an admission interview with the programme's president.' Student Support puts the candidate in touch with the President of the programme by e-mail. Separately, an applicant who cannot certify English B2 may sit the CLA English proficiency test for master's admission (six 2026 sessions; written in person in Trento, oral online) - a pass/fail requirement-recovery test, not a competitive exam. (B) NON-EUROPEANS: the commission scores the application dossier out of 100 using the criteria published in the annex 'Tabella requisiti di ammissione e punteggi per la valutazione'. For this programme the bands are: merit (bachelor's grade) 0-15 points, awarded only above the 80% threshold (81-87% = 5 points, 88-94% = 10 points, 95-100% = 15 points); language 0-10 extra points for English above B2 (C1 = 6 points, C2 = 10 points); 'curriculum studiorum ed altre attivita' personali' 0-20 points; relevance/assessment of the knowledge acquired in the previous degree 0-55 points. Minimum admission score 50/100, maximum 100/100. The commission requests an interview only from admissible candidates scoring at least 35 in the previous-career knowledge assessment, and the interview also assesses the candidate's English. A further remote interview may be requested whenever the submitted documents do not allow an adequate evaluation. Italian language proficiency is verified separately on a pass/fail basis (including, if needed, the CISIA Italian L2 test, for which UniTrento organises an ad hoc session on 26 March 2026) and does NOT contribute to the ranking score.

1) THE LANGUAGE DISCREPANCY FLAGGED IN THE BRIEF IS REAL AND IS RESOLVED AGAINST 'ENGLISH'. The 'English' marking comes from the University orientation portal orienta.unitn.it, whose entry for this programme states 'Durata e lingua del corso: 2 anni, in inglese'. That entry is a stale carry-over: its URL is still /cosa-scegliere/317/global-and-local-studies, and its student testimonial still refers to the predecessor degree 'Global and Local Studies' (GLOCAL), which WAS a fully English-taught LM-62. From a.y. 2025/2026 that degree was re-designed into 'Global Affairs: Geopolitics and Sustainability' and the language was changed to Italian + English. Every higher-authority source disagrees with the orienta label: the ministerial RAD ('Lingua in cui si tiene il corso: italiano, inglese'; 'La laurea magistrale offre corsi obbligatori sia in italiano che in lingua inglese'), the programme page itself ('LANGUAGE: English Italian', 'Courses in Italian and English'), and above all the university's administrative treatment of the programme - non-European applicants can only enter it through the 'Bando unico di Ateneo per l'ammissione ai corsi di laurea magistrale IN LINGUA ITALIANA'. TEACHING_LANGUAGE SHOULD THEREFORE BE RECORDED AS MIXED (English and Italian), NOT as English. 2) PRACTICAL CONSEQUENCE FOR NON-ITALIAN-SPEAKING APPLICANTS - THE DECISIVE POINT: ITALIAN AT CEFR B2 IS AN ADMISSION REQUIREMENT FOR EVERY APPLICANT WITHOUT ITALIAN CITIZENSHIP, on both the free-access European route and the non-European quota route, and it must be held BEFORE enrolment (there is no post-enrolment make-up path published for Italian, unlike English which can be recovered at the CLA). For a Turkish or other non-EU applicant this means: CILS/CELI/PLIDA/ROMA3 at B2, or the CISIA Italian L2 test at 52/72 or better, in addition to English B2. This programme is therefore NOT realistically open to a candidate with no Italian, even though its English-language marketing page and the orienta portal can give that impression. 3) COURSE-LEVEL LANGUAGE SPLIT COULD NOT BE VERIFIED FROM SYLLABI. The classification of individual courses above is inferred from the official course TITLES as printed in the Department's Italian-language handbook (English titles = English delivery, Italian titles = Italian delivery), which is UniTrento's consistent practice, but the only official source publishing each course's 'lingua di erogazione' is the CINECA Course Catalogue (unitn.coursecatalogue.cineca.it/corsi/2025/10905), which is protected by an AWS WAF human-verification challenge that was not bypassed. The arithmetic claim that a second-year study plan could be assembled entirely from English-titled courses is therefore unverified; it also does not change the fact that Italian B2 is required at admission. 4) THE ENGLISH VERSION OF corsi.unitn.it TRANSLATES ITALIAN-TAUGHT COURSE TITLES INTO ENGLISH, which is the main mechanism by which this programme reads as fully English to an international applicant. Examples: 'Migrazioni, confini, cittadinanza' appears as 'Migration, borders, citizenship'; 'Questioni di genere: attori, processi, politiche' as 'Gender issues: actors, processes, policies'; 'Stati e potere globale. Territorio, Confini, Autonomie' as 'States and Global Power: Territory, Borders, Autonomy'; 'Transizione sostenibile e territorio' as 'Sustainable transition and territory'; 'Teoria e pratica della negoziazione nelle Istituzioni' as 'Theory and practice of negotiation in institutions'. 5) MINOR OFFER DISCREPANCY BETWEEN TWO OFFICIAL SOURCES for the second-year electives: the corsi.unitn.it 'Overview' page (snapshot March 2026) lists 'People, Politics and the Planet' (155342) among the third elective group and does not list 'Communication, Science and Technologies' (135287) or 'L'Africa nelle relazioni internazionali' (136133), whereas the Department handbook for 2026/2027 (version dated July 2026, the more recent document) lists the latter two and not the former. Elective offers vary year to year; the handbook was preferred. 6) ACCESS AND DOCUMENTS ON THE EUROPEAN ROUTE ARE UNDER-DOCUMENTED PUBLICLY: UniTrento publishes no document checklist and no formal call for the free-access route, so required_documents for that route is an inference from the stated requirements and is flagged [uncertain]. 7) SSD CODE MIGRATION: the corsi.unitn.it admission page and the RAD still use the OLD scientific-disciplinary sector codes (SPS/04, SPS/07, SECS-P/02, IUS/09, M-STO/04 and SECS-S/04, SPS/01, SPS/08, SPS/09, SPS/10, SPS/11, M-DEA/01, M-GGR/02), while the 2026/2027 handbook uses the NEW codes (GSPS-02/A, GSPS-05/A, ECON-02/A, GIUR-05/A, HIST-03/A; STAT-03/A, GSPS-01/A, GSPS-06/A, GSPS-08/A, GSPS-08/B, GSPS-07/A, SDEA-01/A, GEOG-01/B). These are the same requirements expressed in the old and new ministerial nomenclature. 8) A LIKELY TYPO IN THE OFFICIAL CALL: Art. 7.4 sets the second-year fee exemption on credits acquired 'entro la scadenza del 10 agosto 2026' although it describes the end of the FIRST year of a course starting in 2026/2027 - the intended date is almost certainly 10 August 2027. The credit thresholds themselves (36 / 24-35 / 18-23 / <18 CFU) are quoted as printed. Similarly the annex is titled 'Allegato 1 - Tabella requisiti' inside a file named 'Allegato2_Tabella1_26_27.pdf'; both refer to the same document, the requirements/scoring table of Rectoral Decree 1419/2025. 9) SOURCE ACCESS METHOD: corsi.unitn.it, www.unitn.it and unitn.coursecatalogue.cineca.it are all behind an AWS WAF and returned HTTP 405 (or a human-verification page in a real browser) to every direct request. All content from those hosts was read through Internet Archive raw ('id_') snapshots, which return the original bytes - snapshot dates: programme home 11 March 2026, overview 11 March 2026, admission page (English) 15 April 2026, admission page (Italian) 12 April 2026, language proficiency 15 April 2026, lessons/syllabus 10 April 2026, contacts 8 December 2025, 'Admission to courses taught in Italian' 12 April 2026; the two call annexes and the RAD were downloaded as genuine PDFs (Annex 1 verified by MD5 against an independently retrieved copy) and text-extracted in full. Two UniTrento properties were reachable live and were used as independent, same-day (31 August 2026) confirmation: www.sociologia.unitn.it (the 2026/2027 handbook PDF, 2.16 MB, 144 pages) and orienta.unitn.it. Because the corsi.unitn.it snapshots date from spring 2026, applicants should re-check the live pages before applying; the 17 April - 11 December 2026 European window in particular was still open at the time of research. 10) NOT VERIFIED / OUT OF SCOPE: exact EU/equivalent (ISEE-banded) tuition amounts were not retrieved, since the relevant www.unitn.it fee pages were neither directly reachable nor archived - only the official page URLs and the non-EU amounts stated verbatim in the call are reported. The programme is also listed among those eligible for the university's 'Talete' Honours Programme and offers the ESST international excellence track and internship/study-abroad options, but those are post-enrolment opportunities with separate calls and are not part of the admission requirements.
