Kampüs

Multi-campus joint programme with a rotating semester structure - only the FIRST semester is in Trento. Semester 1 (starts each September): Universita degli Studi di Trento, Department of Economics and Management, via Vigilio Inama 5 - 38122 Trento (TN), Italy. Semester 2: Universite Savoie Mont Blanc / IAE Savoie Mont Blanc, Annecy (Annecy-le-Vieux), France. Semester 3: Universitat Kassel, Faculty of Economics and Management, Kassel, Germany. Semester 4: Universidad de Leon, Faculty of Economics and Business Studies, Leon, Spain. The UniTrento page lists 'LOCATION: Department of Economics and Management, via Vigilio Inama, 5 - 38122 Trento (TN)' because Trento is the administrative/enrolment home and the starting campus. There is only one intake per year.

Kabul Tipi

Restricted access - 'numero programmato' (the UniTrento programme fact box states 'ACCESS: Programmed'; the orientation catalogue states 'Accesso: numero programmato'). Admission is by a single joint public selection call issued by the four-university EMBS Consortium, evaluated by a common EMBS Admission Board - NOT by a TOLC, SAT or any national/standardised entrance exam. Selection is document-based ('per titoli') with a merit-based ranking; the Board may request supplementary documentation (e.g. syllabi) and/or call the applicant for an interview by conference call. Target intake for a.y. 2026-2027 is 30 positions in total for European and non-European citizens combined - there is NO separate reserved non-EU quota, unlike other UniTrento master's programmes (Art. 1.5 adds that 'The target number of students is between 20 and 30 representing 3 or more nationalities'). Because this is a joint/confirmation procedure separate from the standard UniTrento master's admission route, applications are still submitted through the UniTrento Apply portal but the ranking, the outcome notification and the enrolment confirmation are managed by the EMBS Admission Board and by the Trento EMBS office (embs@unitn.it). There is no application fee; admitted candidates instead pay a non-refundable EUR 300 enrolment-confirmation fee to the University of Trento, which is later deducted from the Italian national administrative fee. Applicants taking part in the selection under special agreements with the EMBS Consortium may apply under different deadlines and procedures set in those agreements.

Resmî Eğitim Dili

Case (1): fully English-taught. Art. 2.5 of the 2026-2027 admission call states: 'The official language of the EMBS programme is English both for teaching and exams.' The UniTrento programme fact box records 'LANGUAGE: English' and the UniTrento orientation catalogue entry records 'Lingua: inglese'. The whole application procedure is also conducted in English ('There are no application fees. Applications are in English.'). No Italian-language track exists inside this degree, and no knowledge of Italian, French, German or Spanish is required for admission - although students physically study one semester in each of Italy, France, Germany and Spain.

Kabul koşulları

Akademik geçmiş
  • 1) QUALIFICATION: a three- or four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification amounting to at least 6 semesters and 180 ECTS, in Economics, Management or Business Studies
  • OR in other relevant fields (e.g. Social Sciences, Languages, Engineering) with a focus on Economics and Management, in which case the programme must include at least 50% of courses that are part of Bachelor's degree programmes in Management and/or Economics. The degree must be awarded by an internationally recognised university and must be valid for admission to Master's-level programmes in ALL FOUR partner countries (Italy, France, Germany and Spain) - a stricter condition than for a purely Italian degree. 2) CURRICULAR CREDITS FOR ITALIAN BACHELOR HOLDERS: applicants awarded (or due to be awarded) a Bachelor's degree from any Italian university in a field different from Economics, Management or Business Studies must show at least 60 ECTS/CFU across the scientific-disciplinary sectors: (a) SECS-P/01, SECS-P/02, SECS-P/03, SECS-P/04, SECS-P/05, SECS-P/06, SECS-P/12 (economics: micro/macroeconomics, industrial economics, economic policy, public economics and finance, economic history)
  • (b) SECS-P/07, SECS-P/08, SECS-P/09, SECS-P/10, SECS-P/11 (business economics: accounting and financial statements, accounting principles, general management, business policy, corporate finance)
Dil yeterliliği
  • ENGLISH: proof of proficiency in ALL FOUR skills (listening, reading, writing, speaking) at a minimum of CEFR B2 level. Accepted evidence (any one of the following, uploaded within the online application): (a) a certificate issued by a recognised international institution - e.g. TOEFL 560 paper-based or 87 internet-based, IELTS minimum 5.5, or an equivalent language test; the call explicitly states that 'The TOEIC Listening and Reading test, or any other test that does not assess all four language skills, is not sufficient for the purposes of this application'
  • (b) a certificate issued by a recognised certification body or university institution, including language test results from the home institution's language centre, provided the results meet or exceed B2
  • (c) proof of an English language test at least at B2 level taken during the Bachelor's degree, provided all four language skills were assessed
Sınav / değerlendirme

No written entrance exam, no TOLC/CISIA test, no GMAT/GRE requirement and no SAT. Admission is a selective document-based evaluation carried out jointly by the four EMBS partner universities through a common EMBS Admission Board, which evaluates all application packages from candidates meeting the minimum requirements of Art. 5 and compiles a merit-based ranking. Two additional assessment instruments are specific to EMBS and effectively replace a test: a compulsory 1-minute English VIDEO PRESENTATION (uploaded unlisted on YouTube) and a compulsory QUESTIONNAIRE in English on the applicant's academic and personal background. The Board 'may request supplementary documentation (e.g., syllabi of completed exams) and/or call the applicant for an interview (via conference call)' - so an interview is possible but not systematic. Scoring uses four weighted macro-areas: Academic Excellence and Foundational Knowledge 35%, Aptitude/Suitability and Goal Coherence 25%, International Orientation and Teamwork Skills 25%, English Versatility and Self-Presentation 15%. Outcomes are notified by email as admitted / not admitted / waiting list. Short lists are drafted by mid-May 2026 for non-European applicants and for European applicants of Round 1, and by end of June 2026 for European applicants of Round 2.

  • All items are uploaded/entered in the online application form on the UniTrento Apply portal (identification via SPID, electronic identity card CIE, a UniTrento @unitn.it username, or a temporary @guest.unitn.it username to be created on the Application website - candidates using the temporary username are strongly advised to create it at least 48 hours before the deadline). The checklist is: (1) copy of the passport (only the pages containing personal data) or identity card (identity card possible only for European citizens); (2) high school leaving certificate (also in the local language); (3) IF ALREADY GRADUATED: university degree certificates and diplomas in English for the completed Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) from an internationally recognised higher education institution, plus those of any other degree programmes relevant to the admission process; (4) IF NOT YET GRADUATED: university enrolment certificate for the Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in English, plus for any other relevant degree programmes - non-EU and EU students expecting to graduate by 30 June 2026 or 31 October 2026 respectively must provide a temporary certificate from their university stating the expected graduation date and final grade; (5) certificate of the study plan (academic transcript of records) in English including the complete list of exams, scientific-disciplinary sectors (SSD) if the degree is from an Italian institution, grades obtained, weighted average of exams/GPA, and the range of minimum and maximum grades - it must cover all courses and all semesters completed, not just the final year, and include any other relevant degree programmes; (6) official list in English of any outstanding exams, including the corresponding ECTS credits or local units/points remaining; (7) proof of English proficiency in all four skills at minimum CEFR B2 (see language requirements); (8) VIDEO PRESENTATION in English of up to 1 minute (60 seconds) in which applicants introduce themselves and explain their interest in and suitability for the EMBS - the video must be uploaded to YouTube in 'unlisted' mode so it is accessible only via the link, and the link is then entered in the online application form; (9) questionnaire in English - a series of specific questions on the applicant's academic and personal background, answered inside the application form; (10) ONE reference letter (letter of recommendation) addressed to the EMBS Admission Board, including the referee's full contact information; (11) an updated Curriculum Vitae in English detailing educational, personal and, if any, professional experience; (12) passport-size photo; (13) if already available, the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), European side, with validity. All documents/information must be uploaded by the deadline; incomplete or non-finalised applications and unreadable documents lead to automatic exclusion. There is NO application fee. Technical problems with the online form are to be reported to embs@unitn.it. After admission, the EUR 300 non-refundable enrolment-confirmation fee is paid to the University of Trento according to the instructions in the acceptance notification, and non-European admitted students then follow the Italian visa procedure, on which UniTrento provides detailed information by May 2026.

  • 1) SOURCE ACCESS / WAF: at the time of research (31 August 2026) both corsi.unitn.it and www.unitn.it were behind a WAF - corsi.unitn.it returned HTTP 405 Method Not Allowed and www.unitn.it returned HTTP 403 Forbidden to direct requests. The UniTrento programme page content quoted above was read from an Internet Archive capture of https://corsi.unitn.it/en/european-master-business-studies dated 24 January 2026. orienta.unitn.it and webapps.unitn.it/Apply were reachable directly. Internet Archive captures of www.unitn.it fee pages and of the EMBS didactic-regulation PDF could not be retrieved (repeated timeouts), so the UniTrento general fee page and the didactic regulation are cited by URL only and are marked uncertain. 2) SEPARATE CONFIRMATION / APPROVAL PROCEDURE (as flagged in the task notes): EMBS does NOT use the standard UniTrento master's admission-call route. Its call is issued jointly by the four-university consortium and published on embs.eu, not on corsi.unitn.it; the UniTrento programme site has no 'Admission and enrollment' section at all and simply links to embs.eu. Applications are nevertheless filed through the UniTrento Apply portal, the ranking and outcome are handled by the EMBS Admission Board, and the EUR 300 non-refundable ENROLMENT-CONFIRMATION fee is paid to the University of Trento (deducted later from the Italian national administrative fee). There is no application fee at all - unlike the EUR 30 charged for other UniTrento Department of Economics and Management master's programmes. 3) OFFICIAL-SOURCE SCOPE: the binding admission document (the 2026-2027 call PDF) and the fee table are hosted on embs.eu, which is outside the UNITN allowed-domain list but is the official consortium site explicitly linked from both corsi.unitn.it and orienta.unitn.it as the place to 'Discover the programme and apply'. It is therefore treated as an official source here; the University of Trento is one of the four joint data controllers named in the call. 4) THIRD APPLICATION ROUND DISCREPANCY: the live embs.eu application page lists a third European round closing 30 June 2026, but Art. 7.2 of the signed call PDF (dated 23/12/2025) lists only Rounds 1 and 2 (6 March and 8 May 2026), and Art. 8.5/9.1 likewise reference only two European evaluation rounds. The application page was last modified on 13 July 2026, i.e. after that date, so the third round appears to be a later extension announced on the website only. No published outcome timeline for a third round was found. Applicants should treat the website date as the operative one but confirm with embs@unitn.it. 5) NO NON-EU QUOTA: unlike most UniTrento master's programmes, EMBS sets a single pool of 30 positions shared by European and non-European citizens, with no reserved contingent. Art. 1.5 states a target 'between 20 and 30' students while Art. 4.1 states a target of 30 positions - these two figures are not fully consistent in the call itself. 6) NO PUBLISHED PASS MARK: the call gives only percentage weightings for the four evaluation macro-areas and does not publish a minimum eligibility score, nor are rankings published on a public web page (outcomes are notified individually by email), so no 2026-2027 ranking document could be verified. 7) ADMISSION YEAR: 2026/2027 is the most recent published academic year. All of its rounds had closed by the research date (the last European roll-over window ended 31 August 2026) and the UniTrento Apply portal showed 'No active applications for this type'. The 2027/2028 call had not yet been published; by analogy with the 2026-2027 cycle (applications opened 23 December 2025) it is expected around late December 2026. 8) MULTI-CAMPUS NATURE: 'campus' is not a single location - only semester 1 is in Trento. Applicants must be able to obtain residence/visa permissions for France, Germany and Spain as well; the call covers only the Italian visa procedure explicitly. Mobility grants may be available but are not guaranteed and EMBS students are barred from the Opera Universitaria and Eiffel scholarship schemes. 9) ENGLISH THRESHOLD DIFFERS FROM OTHER UNITN PROGRAMMES: EMBS accepts IELTS 5.5 and TOEFL iBT 87, whereas e.g. the UniTrento MIM programme requires IELTS 6 / TOEFL 72. The EMBS thresholds come from its own consortium call and should not be substituted with the general UniTrento figures. 10) DEGREE-CLASS NAME VARIANT: the didactic-regulation file name found via search renders the degree as 'Management - European Master in Business Studies' within class LM-77; the same course is listed by UniTrento both as 'EMBS - European Master in Business Studies' and as 'European Master in Business Studies - EMBS' across its own catalogue pages, which is a labelling inconsistency only, not two different courses.

Official consortium programme website (linked from the UniTrento page as 'Discover the programme and apply'): https://embs.eu/ - key sub-pages https://embs.eu/application-procedure/ , https://embs.eu/costs/ , https://embs.eu/curriculum/ . Application portal: https://webapps.unitn.it/Apply/en/Web/Home/apply (the call cites http://www.unitn.it/en/apply/master). Department: https://www.economia.unitn.it/ . Contact for applications: embs@unitn.it (Trento); general programme administration: embs@univ-savoie.fr / embs@univ-smb.fr (IAE Savoie Mont-Blanc International Office, 4 Chemin de Bellevue - BP 80439, F-74944 Annecy-le-Vieux cedex, tel. +33 (0)450 09 24 94).
  • Call for applications link note: https://embs.eu/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Call-for-EMBS_2026-2027.pdf - 'Call for admission of 30 students (Non-European and European) to the Joint degree European Master in Business Studies (EMBS), Academic Year 2026-2027', 15 pages, signed 'The EMBS Admission Board', dated 23/12/2025. It is linked from the official application page https://embs.eu/application-procedure/ as 'Call 2026-2027 (PDF)'. No separate UniTrento-hosted admission call PDF for EMBS was found on corsi.unitn.it: unlike the other Department of Economics and Management master's programmes, the EMBS pages on corsi.unitn.it carry no 'Admission and enrollment' section and instead link out to embs.eu. UniTrento didactic regulation for the degree course: https://corsi.unitn.it/sites/cds/files/2025-08/regolamento-didattico-lm-management-european-master-buisness-studies-2025.pdf ('EUROPEAN MASTER IN BUSINESS STUDIES (EMBS LM-77)') [uncertain] (URL identified through search; the file could not be opened directly because corsi.unitn.it returns HTTP 405).
  • Tuition and fees link note: https://embs.eu/costs/ (official EMBS consortium fee table) and Art. 6 of the official call https://embs.eu/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Call-for-EMBS_2026-2027.pdf . EMBS does NOT follow the standard UniTrento tuition-fee scheme: participation fees are about EUR 3,500 per year, made up of EUR 2,500 per year as EMBS tuition fee paid to the Universite Savoie Mont Blanc (coordinator) plus about EUR 500 per semester paid to each partner university as a national administrative fee (Trento and Savoie Mont Blanc in year 1; Kassel and Leon in year 2), the exact amount being communicated to admitted students by each university before enrolment. The published EMBS cost table breaks this down as: 1st year - programme fee EUR 2,500, Italian national tuition fee EUR 500, French national tuition fee (1st part) EUR 254, civil liability EUR 16, French student-life contribution (CVEC) EUR 108, TOTAL EUR 3,378; 2nd year - programme fee EUR 2,500, French national tuition fee (2nd part) EUR 254, German national fee EUR 400, Spanish national fee EUR 560, civil liability EUR 16, CVEC EUR 108, TOTAL EUR 3,838. A non-refundable EUR 300 enrolment-confirmation fee is paid to the University of Trento and is deducted from the Italian national administrative fee. Scholarships: EMBS students may be supported by mobility grants offered by the universities (contact embs@univ-smb.fr), but these do not cover all costs; EMBS students are explicitly NOT eligible for the 'Opera Universitaria Scholarship (OUS)' or the 'Eiffel grant programme'. Students must evidence sufficient financial resources (self-paying students: proof of ability to cover fees; sponsored students: proof of sponsorship). General UniTrento fee pages for reference: https://www.unitn.it/en/study/fees-scholarships-accommodation/tuition-fees [uncertain] (not verified as applying to EMBS; www.unitn.it returned HTTP 403 to direct requests at the time of research).
