RESTRICTED ACCESS (numero programmato / 'ACCESS: Programmed' on the official programme page). This is NOT an open-access programme. Admission is by a public selection based on qualifications and, where necessary, an interview ('selezione pubblica per titoli ed eventuale colloquio'). Total intake for a.y. 2026/2027: 45 places, of which 4 are reserved for non-European citizens living outside Italy and the remaining 41 are for Europeans and equivalents. The selection is organised in two separate sessions with two separate ranking lists: Session I (non-Europeans only, deadline 23 March 2026) and Session II (Europeans and equivalents only, deadline in summer 2026). Any places not assigned in Session I are transferred to Session II. There is NO TOLC, NO SAT and no written entrance examination; scoring is entirely document-based (up to 100 points) with an optional interview requested by the Committee only when the submitted documents are insufficient for evaluation. Eligibility threshold: 50/100.

Resmî Eğitim Dili

Fully English. The programme page states 'LANGUAGE: English' and 'The programme is fully taught in English', and Art. 1 c.2 of the binding Italian call states 'La lingua ufficiale del corso di studio e l'inglese' ('The official language of the course is English'). There is no Italian-language percorso and no mixed English/Italian track: both curricula (Computational and Quantitative) are delivered entirely in English. The first-year plan additionally contains a compulsory 3 CFU 'English C1' unit, which confirms the English-medium nature of the degree. Note that the programme is officially registered in Italian under the name 'Biologia Quantitativa e Computazionale' - the Italian name appears on all binding legal documents (rectoral decree, bando, regolamento didattico) but does not indicate any Italian-taught teaching.

Academic year 2026/2027, Session II (Europeans and equivalents only): the official programme webpage (last updated 30 July 2026) states 'Application: from 30 April to 6 July 2026 at 12:00 CET' and 'Deadline: 6 July 2026 at 12:00 CET', with 'Application will open on 30 April 2026'. The binding Italian call and its 30 April 2026 amendment instead state 'II sessione: a partire dal 21 aprile 2026 ed entro le ore 12.00 del 30 giugno 2026 (CET)' (21 April to 30 June 2026, 12:00 CET) - the webpage figures appear to reflect a later extension and are the ones actually applied. [uncertain - two different official dates published]. Application fee EUR 30.00. Bachelor's degree graduation deadline for Europeans and equivalents: 31 October 2026. English language certification, if not available at the deadline, must be produced by 31 October 2026. Ranking list published on the programme webpage; confirmation and enrolment within the deadlines communicated by UniTrento staff (no EUR 100 confirmation fee if enrolment is completed within 7 days of the admission notice). Online application form: https://webapps.unitn.it/Apply/it/Web/GoHome/master/QuCoBi2026EU

AB / AEA dışı adaylar

Academic year 2026/2027, Session I (non-European citizens living outside Italy only): application deadline 23 March 2026 at 12:00 noon CET (strict; the EUR 30.00 application fee must also be paid by that date). Ranking list: due by 25 May 2026, actually published on 14 May 2026. Confirmation of the place (EUR 100.00 non-refundable confirmation fee): within the deadline communicated by UniTrento staff / stated in the ranking list. Pre-enrolment on Universitaly: within 2 weeks from confirmation. Visa: before enrolment; only candidates who obtained the Italian entry visa no later than 31 October 2026 are admitted, otherwise admission lapses. Bachelor's degree graduation: by 30 June 2026 (or by 31 October 2026 for non-Europeans graduating at an Italian university with a valid Italian study residence permit). Arrival in Trento: all international students must arrive by 31 October 2026, and must be present for the start of classes (exact date notified by the University in summer). All deadlines are strict and missing any of them results in losing the place. As of 31 August 2026 the non-EU application is closed and the ranking has been published.

Kabul koşulları

Akademik geçmiş
  • SEATS AND QUOTAS (a.y. 2026/2027): 45 places in total, including a reserved quota of 4 places for non-European citizens not resident in Italy; 41 places for Europeans and equivalents. Unassigned non-EU places roll over to the second (European) session. The published non-EU ranking for 2026/2027 lists 4 admitted candidates (top score 99.07/100, fourth admitted score 92.125/100), 20 candidates on the waiting list and 7 declared not eligible, and 1 scholarship available.
  • DEGREE REQUIREMENT (identical for both categories): a Bachelor's or first-level degree of at least 3 years awarded in Italy or abroad and recognised as equivalent and suitable.
  • CURRICULAR REQUIREMENTS (as amended on 30 April 2026 following observations of the National University Council - CUN; these amended requirements are the operative ones):
Dil yeterliliği
  • English at CEFR level B2 (full B2 level, four skills) is mandatory for all applicants. There is no Italian language requirement for admission, as the programme is entirely English-taught. The level must be documented by the deadline of the session in which the candidate applies (23 March 2026 for non-Europeans; the Session II deadline for Europeans and equivalents).
  • Accepted proofs: (a) a certificate issued by an internationally recognised body
  • (b) a certificate attesting the required level issued by a certifying body or a university institution (self-certification under arts. 46-47 of D.P.R. 445/2000 is allowed when the issuing body is an Italian public institution)
Sınav / değerlendirme

No entrance examination. There is no TOLC, no SAT and no written admission test for this programme - selection is by evaluation of qualifications only (documents scored out of 100 points). An INTERVIEW is not a standard step: it is held in person or by conference call only when the documents attached to the online application do not allow the Admissions Committee to evaluate the candidature adequately, in which case the Committee may also request further documentation such as the syllabi of examinations taken. The English courtesy translation of the call additionally refers to an optional video presentation as part of the third scoring criterion, evaluated only if a minimum combined score is reached on the first two criteria [uncertain - not present in the binding Italian text]. The only test any applicant may have to sit is the English language test at the Centro Linguistico di Ateneo (CLA), and only for candidates who cannot otherwise document B2 English.

Hazırlanacak belgeler

    • The same document list applies to both the non-EU (Session I) and the EU/equivalents (Session II) online applications. An official translation into English or Italian is required for any document not originally issued in one of those two languages. Illegible documents are not considered and incomplete or unsubmitted application forms are excluded from the selection.
    • 1. A copy of a valid passport (non-EU citizens: personal-data pages with photo only) or identity card (EU citizens); not required for applicants logging in with an Italian digital identity.
    • 2. Curriculum vitae et studiorum in English, following the European/Europass format (https://europass.europa.eu/en).

Kaynaklarda netleşmeyenler

  • AB / AEA adayları
  • Sınav / değerlendirme
  • 1) THE TASK NOTE 'Serbest erisim' (open/free access) IS WRONG. This programme is NOT open access. The official programme page states 'ACCESS: Programmed' (numero programmato) and Art. 1 of the binding call describes 'una selezione pubblica' restricted to 45 places (4 reserved for non-EU citizens abroad, 41 for Europeans and equivalents). Applicants must pass a document-based competitive selection scored out of 100 with a 50/100 eligibility threshold, and even eligible candidates can end up on a waiting list (20 non-EU candidates were waitlisted for 2026/2027). This record should be treated as correcting the source list. 2) EU/EQUIVALENTS DEADLINE - TWO CONFLICTING OFFICIAL DATES. The binding Italian call and its 30 April 2026 amendment both state Session II runs 'a partire dal 21 aprile 2026 ed entro le ore 12.00 del 30 giugno 2026'. The live programme webpage (last published 30 July 2026) instead states the application window is '30 April to 6 July 2026 at 12:00 CET' and repeats 'Deadline: 6 July 2026 at 12:00 CET'. The webpage is more recent and is what applicants actually saw, so 6 July 2026 is reported as the operative date, but no rectifying decree confirming the extension was found on corsi.unitn.it. Field marked uncertain. 3) THE ENGLISH COURTESY TRANSLATION OF THE CALL IS UNRELIABLE AND PARTLY SUPERSEDED. (a) It is explicitly labelled non-binding and 'produced with the support of AI-assisted tools'. (b) Its Art. 2 B and Art. 4 c.1 both give the application deadline as '4 March 2026' / 'March 4, 2026 at 12.00', which matches no session of this call and appears to be copied from another UniTrento call - the real Session I deadline is 23 March 2026. (c) Its curricular requirements are the ORIGINAL February 2026 ones (12 CFU across a combined BIO+CHIM list of which at least 6 CFU in BIO, plus 12 CFU across a combined MAT/FIS/SECS-S list) and were superseded by the 30 April 2026 amendment, which splits them into 12 BIO + 6 CHIM + 6 MAT/statistics + 6 FIS and narrows the SSD lists. Anyone relying on the English PDF alone would be misinformed on both points. The amended requirements reported here match both the binding rettifica and the current webpage. 4) VIDEO PRESENTATION - ENGLISH-ONLY ELEMENT. The English translation lists 'video presentation' among the elements scored under criterion (c) (max 20 points), with a footnote explaining it is evaluated only if a minimum combined score is reached on criteria (a) and (b). The binding Italian text of both the original call and the rettifica mentions only the written statement, further language competences and other certifications. It is therefore unclear whether a video was actually requested; no video upload appears in the document list of either version. Marked uncertain in the entry_exam_or_test and academic_requirements fields. 5) COMMITTEE SIZE - minor discrepancy: the English version says 'The Admissions Committee is made up of three members', the binding Italian says 'si compone di almeno 3 docenti del Dipartimento Biologia Cellulare, Computazionale e Integrata' (at least three professors of CIBIO). The Italian 'at least three' prevails. 6) WAF/ACCESS LIMITATION. corsi.unitn.it, www.unitn.it and offertaformativa.unitn.it sit behind an AWS WAF/Cloudflare layer that returns HTTP 405 (with x-amzn-waf-action: captcha) or 503 on direct fetches; the CAPTCHA was deliberately not bypassed. All corsi.unitn.it webpages and PDFs above were retrieved through a public read-only text-extraction proxy that renders the same public pages, so the content is the live official text but was not read from a direct browser session. offertaformativa.unitn.it now returns a 'Site under maintenance' notice redirecting to www.unitn.it/en/study/courses, so any programme data still indexed by search engines under offertaformativa.unitn.it (e.g. the widely cached '30 April to 30 June' application window) is from a retired site and was not used. webapps.unitn.it was reached directly: the EU application endpoint QuCoBi2026EU returns HTTP 200 and is live but login-gated, so in-portal dates could not be cross-checked; no non-EU application endpoint is linked any more because that session is closed. 7) INTERDEPARTMENTAL NATURE. The task note describes the programme as 'CIBIO + Fisica + Matematica + DISI'. Administratively the degree belongs solely to the Department of Cellular, Computational and Integrative Biology (CIBIO) - the call, the Committee and the admission office are all CIBIO/Science-and-Technology-Area. The involvement of the Departments of Physics, Mathematics and DISI is at teaching level: the study plan draws courses such as Quantum mechanics, Regression and Classification Models, Machine learning, Knowledge Graphs and Bio-Inspired Artificial Intelligence from those departments. There is no inter-university (interateneo) agreement and no double-degree partnership documented for this programme. 8) CYCLE ALREADY CONCLUDED. As of the research date (31 August 2026) both 2026/2027 sessions are closed: the non-EU application closed on 23 March 2026 and its ranking was published on 14 May 2026; the EU/equivalents session closed in summer 2026. Applicants targeting the next intake should expect an equivalent call to be published around December 2025-February 2026 equivalent timing, i.e. early 2027 for a.y. 2027/2028. 9) NAMING. The programme is not new (teaching regulations exist from 2016 onwards) but was substantially redesigned for 2026/2027: the amended cohort plan introduces the two curricula 'Computational' and 'Quantitative' and new courses such as AI Techniques for Data Analysis and Multiscale RNA and Protein Omics. Historic documents on the programme site are filed under the Italian name 'Biologia Quantitativa e Computazionale'; the English name 'Quantitative and Computational Biology' is the one used for all English-language materials. The English call PDF contains the typo 'Quantitative and Cmputational Biology'. 10) CAMPUS ADDRESS. The official programme page gives only 'LOCATION: Cellular, Computational and Integrative Biology - CIBIO' without a street address. The address Via Sommarive 9, 38123 Povo (Trento), Povo 2 building of the 'Fabio Ferrari' Scientific and Technological Hub, comes from the CIBIO department site (cibio.unitn.it) and from the UniTrento locations page, not from the programme page itself; the Povo/Trento location is certain.
