• Applicants must hold an undergraduate degree of at least 3 years. Officially listed suitable backgrounds include Biotechnology, Biology, Chemical Sciences and Technologies, and Pharmacy/Industrial Pharmacy; Biology and Biotechnology degrees may also be considered by the Evaluation Committee. Degrees in other disciplines are assessed individually; the course page for Italian degree classes also requires 10 ECTS in chemistry/biology and 10 ECTS in mathematics/physics/computer science/statistics for applicants outside the core listed classes. The official admissions portal also requires documented practical laboratory experience distinct from normal transcripted practical courses.
• Foreign title pre-check: Applicants with a non-Italian degree must use apply.unipv.eu and satisfy the University of Pavia rules for foreign qualifications. The official portal states that Master's applicants need a Bachelor's degree of at least 3 years, and the country-specific document requirements page on portale.unipv.it must be checked. Entry documents are accepted in English, French, Italian, or Spanish; other transcripts require official translation, and original scanned documents are required to finalize enrollment.

• English proficiency at CEFR B2 is required. Accepted proof on the official course/admissions pages includes BEC Vantage, Cambridge B2 First/FCE, IELTS Academic 5.5-6.5, TrackTest B2, ILEC Pass, TOEFL iBT 72-94, Trinity ISE II / GESE 7-9, Oxford Test of English B2, and LCCI EfB Level 3. The certificate must be uploaded with the application; late submission is not accepted.
• Language requirement exemption or alternative: Applicants are exempt from uploading an English certificate if they completed their Bachelor's degree at a university in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the USA, or the UK. Declarations of English-medium instruction from other countries are explicitly not accepted.

• International applicants with a suitable curriculum must pass an oral admission exam/interview in English; the official admissions portal states that the admission exam takes place online. The committee can also require an admission exam when checking degree suitability.
• Selection criteria: The Evaluation Committee checks whether the Bachelor's degree is suitable for admission, verifies the required subject background, reviews documented practical laboratory experience, checks the English requirement, and evaluates the oral admission exam/interview in English.

  • CV in European format in English; transcript/records with exams, marks, credits or hours, final mark, and grading-system explanation; diploma if available; diploma supplement if available; a PDF list of relevant exams in mathematics/physics/computer science/statistics and biology/chemistry; short motivation letter entered in the form; documentation of practical laboratory experience
  • English certificate unless exempt; and official translations when the transcript is not in an accepted language. Visa/pre-enrollment stage documents listed by the official portal are: passport, photocard, Bachelor's degree, and admission/conditional offer letter.
