• Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree or another suitable prior university qualification. The official Finance access-requirements page says the programme requires a strong background in a quantitative area and preferably one of these bachelor's degrees: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or Statistics. Applicants with a different bachelor's degree must prove they acquired at least 6 ECTS in Economics, 6 ECTS in Quantitative Methods, and 3 ECTS in Computer Science (or an equivalent computing certification). Students graduated abroad should hold a three-year university diploma. The same official page also warns that vocational titles such as a Bachelor of Business Administration/Commerce from India are unsuitable for access to an Italian master's degree.
• Foreign title pre-check: Applicants with a foreign degree must apply through `apply.unipv.eu`. The central University of Pavia master's admissions page states that the Admission Office evaluates the submitted foreign documentation after application. The Finance course page for foreign-bachelor applicants requires a bachelor's document reporting exams, marks, and credits, and the programme page explicitly states that some foreign vocational titles may be unsuitable for admission.

• English B2. The official Finance access-requirements page requires an international certification attesting knowledge at or above B2 of the Common European Framework, or alternatively 6 ECTS in English language with a tolerance of up to 3 ECTS, corresponding at least to B2 level.
• Language requirement exemption or alternative: No separate language certificate is required for students who graduated from an institution where teachings are entirely given in English. The official page also accepts 6 ECTS in English language, with a tolerance of up to 3 ECTS, as an alternative to an external B2 certificate.

• For applicants with an Italian degree, the official Finance admission-test page states that the admission test is a written test with 30 multiple-choice questions covering Economics, Mathematics for Economics and Finance, and Probability and Statistics. For 2026/2027, the official page says the test will take place on September 10, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. Exemption is granted to students with a final graduation grade of at least 95/110, or to not-yet-graduated students with at least 150 credits registered and a weighted average of at least 25/30. For applicants holding a foreign bachelor's degree, the consulted official application page does not publish a separate written test and instead directs them to dossier evaluation through the application portal.
• Selection criteria: Selection is based on compliance with the published curricular requirements and on the applicant's academic background. For applicants with an Italian degree, the official course pages distinguish direct admission from admission after the written test on the basis of final grade or current weighted average. For applicants holding a foreign bachelor's degree, the application file includes the transcript, passport, CV, English proof if required, and the programme spreadsheet; the official access-requirements page also says GMAT or GRE certifications are highly taken into account in the evaluation process, with published reference minimum scores of GMAT 555, GMAT Focus 553, GRE Verbal 151, and GRE Quantitative 155.

• Application stage for applicants holding a foreign bachelor's degree: a bachelor's document reporting the individual exams taken (or still to be taken), relative marks, and numbers of credits or study hours; a copy of the passport; curriculum vitae; English language certificate if needed; and the programme Excel file grouping the exams by subject area. General central master's application stage: identity document and bachelor's degree diploma issued in English, Spanish, or French, or officially translated into Italian. Visa pre-enrollment stage for non-EU applicants residing abroad: passport, photocard, bachelor's degree, and admission letter or conditional offer letter.
