• Applicants must hold a high school diploma or a foreign qualification considered equivalent to an Italian school diploma. For foreign qualifications, verification of title eligibility is mandatory before matriculation. Non-EU applicants residing abroad who have not yet obtained diploma evaluation for this programme must request and obtain evaluation through apply.unipv.eu within the call window. For foreign qualifications, the call requires the school diploma, legalization/apostille or CIMEA verification, Declaration of Value / CIMEA Comparability / ARDI where applicable, and proof of the local university-entry exam if required by the country of origin.
• Foreign title pre-check: Foreign-title holders must complete title-eligibility verification before enrollment. For non-EU applicants residing abroad, the call requires visa pre-enrolment on Universitaly and diploma evaluation on apply.unipv.eu. For foreign diplomas, the official call requires original diploma or authorised copy, legalization/apostille or CIMEA Statement of Verification, Declaration of Value or CIMEA Comparability or ARDI Statement of Correspondence, and proof of the local university-entry exam when required.

• National IMAT admission test in English with limited places. Candidates must register on Universitaly, take the national entry test in English, and then qualify through the relevant ranking. The 2025/2026 call states the test date as September 17, 2025.
• Selection criteria: Selection is based on IMAT ranking. EU candidates and non-EU candidates residing in Italy enter the single national ranking and must score at least 20/90 to be eligible. Non-EU applicants residing abroad are placed in a University of Pavia ranking and are eligible with a score above zero, provided they answered at least one question. Tie-breaks are based first on subject-area scores in order (biology, chemistry, physics and mathematics, logical reasoning and problems, reading skills and knowledge acquired during studies), then on recognised language certificates declared at registration, then disability preference where applicable, then younger age.
• Seat quota: 2025/2026 official call: 103 places for EU applicants and non-EU applicants treated as equivalent under art. 39, paragraph 5

• • Test-registration stage: Universitaly registration data including contact email, university preferences, test location, and any recognised language certificate declared for tie-break purposes. Non-EU abroad diploma-evaluation stage on apply.unipv.eu: original secondary-school diploma or authorised copy/replacement certificate after at least 12 years of schooling
  • Italian translation unless the diploma is issued in English, Spanish, or French; legalization/apostille or CIMEA Statement of Verification
  • Declaration of Value or CIMEA Comparability or ARDI Statement of Correspondence; certificate of passing the local university-entry exam if required; €35 non-refundable application-fee payment. Test day: Universitaly registration receipt and valid ID; non-EU applicants residing abroad must present passport with study visa or Italian residence permit / Questura receipt. Enrollment stage for foreign-title holders: the same title-eligibility documents must also be attached in the student area before enrollment can be completed.
