• Applicants must hold a first degree of at least three years covering one or more humanities or social-science fields and including at least 36 ECTS or international equivalent in one or more of the following areas: demography; economics, excluding business studies, and statistics; modern or contemporary history; political studies including political philosophy; public, private, or international law; and sociology. Applicants whose first degree is from an Italian university must also have acquired at least 150 credits by the relevant application deadline.
• Foreign title pre-check: Foreign and non-Italian qualifications are evaluated by the University of Pavia Admission Office. The central master's application procedure requires applicants to upload an identity document and a bachelor's degree diploma issued in English, Spanish, or French or officially translated into Italian; the WPIR programme pages add transcript-based subject verification through the programme's minimal-entry-requirements process.

• English proficiency at CEFR C1 is required. Accepted evidence is TOEFL iBT at least 92, TOEFL PBT at least 590, IELTS Academic at least 7, Cambridge CAE grade C, or Cambridge CPE level C1.
• Language requirement exemption or alternative: The English-certificate requirement does not apply to students who completed a course of higher education in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the USA, or the UK.

Sınav / değerlendirme

• No national entrance test is published. Admission is based on a file review and an admission interview in English held shortly after the relevant deadline.
• Selection criteria: After verifying the minimal entry requirements, the admissions committee evaluates the applicant's academic qualifications, performance in disciplines most relevant to the programme, academic potential in the relevant fields, and level of English. According to the official pages, this evaluation leads either to direct admission or to an online or in-person interview in English that tests analytical, argumentative, and critical abilities.
