EU Deadline

[uncertain] Not yet published for IMS A.Y. 2026/2027. The official IMS programme page says the call for applications is being finalized and that application deadlines will be published shortly.

Non-EU Deadline

[uncertain] The IMS programme page does not yet publish an IMS-specific A.Y. 2026/2027 deadline. UniMi's general international enrolment page states that non-EU students residing abroad must submit the Universitaly pre-enrolment application by 31 July 2026; if IMS still follows the last published IMS call model, the programme-specific admission deadline may differ and has not yet been released.

[uncertain] The IMS programme page and 2026/2027 manifesto state that applicants need an upper secondary school diploma or a foreign qualification recognized as suitable, obtained after 12 years of schooling and valid for university access in the issuing country. Those sources also describe programmed access through a national admission test and expect a strong high-school background in biology, chemistry, mathematics, and physics. At the same time, the central UniMi 2026/2027 page for LM-41 states that applicants no longer pass an admission test and instead enrol directly in the open semester, where they take Chemistry and Introductory Biochemistry, Physics, and Biology and are ranked nationally for admission to the second semester.

The IMS prerequisites page says Italian is not required for matriculation, but a good level of Italian is needed for clinical activities; the 2026/2027 manifesto makes this explicit as Italian at CEFR B2 or higher by the end of the second year / before entering the third year, proved either by a certificate recognized by UniMi or by the SLAM entry-level test, with Italian courses assigned if the level is not reached. For admission-stage English requirements, the latest official IMS call available is for 2025/2026: it required non-EU visa applicants to upload a valid English language certificate in Universitaly and listed recognized certificates at B2 or above, including IELTS 5.5-6.5, TOEFL 87-109, Cambridge FCE, Trinity ISE II, and equivalent certificates; students who attended a school taught in English for at least one school year were also recognized. No 2026/2027 IMS call was published on the programme page as checked on 2026-06-11, so the admission-stage English-certificate rule for 2026/2027 cannot yet be confirmed.

[uncertain] The IMS programme page, IMS prerequisites page, 2026/2027 manifesto, and IMS IMAT page all describe an IMAT-style admission route: a national test on the same day worldwide, designed by the Italian Ministry, with 60 multiple-choice questions and a 90-point scale. The latest official IMS call available (2025/2026) specifies Universitaly registration from 26 August 2025 to 9 September 2025, a 100-minute exam starting at 11:00 in Italy, scoring of +1.5 for each correct answer, -0.4 for each wrong answer, and 0 for unanswered questions, with 4 questions on reading comprehension and knowledge acquired during studies, 5 on logical reasoning and problems, 23 on biology, 15 on chemistry, and 13 on physics and mathematics. That call set a 20-point minimum for EU and EU-equivalent applicants, while non-EU students residing abroad only needed a score above zero to be ranked in their reserved quota. The 2026/2027 IMS page has not yet published test dates or a 2026/2027 call. Separately, a central UniMi 2026/2027 LM-41 page says applicants no longer take an admission test and instead enter an open semester with courses in Chemistry and Introductory Biochemistry, Physics, and Biology, followed by national ranking after end-of-course exams. Because these official sources conflict, the 2026/2027 IMS entry route remains unresolved.
