Candidates must hold, or obtain by 31 December 2026, a qualifying degree and the curricular and language requirements. Direct access is given to graduates in classes L-25, L-26, class 20, L-32, or class 27, as well as holders of an equivalent foreign qualification recognized as suitable. Graduates from other classes may also apply if they have at least 45 CFU in the listed scientific-disciplinary sectors, including at least 12 CFU in biological and agroforestry/environmental disciplines. The Admission Commission verifies curricular requirements and background knowledge, may request additional information, and assesses prior exam results in the required subject areas.

English proficiency at CEFR B2 or higher is required for admission. The official programme sources state that this is assessed either by uploading a B2-or-higher language certificate during the online application or during a specific admission interview. The inspected programme-specific sources do not state a separate English exemption route beyond this certificate-or-interview assessment. Separately, the manifesto states that students who do not hold an Italian high school diploma or degree may obtain the optional 3 ECTS 'Additional Language Skills: Italian' activity by proving Italian at CEFR A2 with a certificate issued within the previous three years and uploaded to https://studente.unimi.it/uploadCertificazioniLingue, or by taking the one-time SLAM entry-level test; students who do not reach A2 must attend the assigned Italian course(s) or choose another elective.

A.Y. 2026/27: no standardised entrance test (no TOLC/GRE-type test). The Admission Commission checks the curricular requirements and assesses background knowledge from the positive outcome of the main exams in the subject areas listed as entry requirements; if this assessment reveals a lack of competences, the Commission calls the candidate for an interview. The admission notice (Art. 4) also says the Admission Board summons candidates who meet the requirements to an interview or a written test, in person or remotely, to verify their initial preparation. Applicants who do not upload a B2 English certificate with the online application have their English assessed during a specific admission interview. The admission notice says the outcome is sent to the email address used for the application or published on the programme website; the programme website's Application page says candidates are informed through the online admission application system.

• For applicants with an Italian qualification from another university: self-certification of degree/enrolment with exam records, including exams taken, grades, ECTS credits, and scientific-disciplinary sectors.

• For applicants with a foreign qualification at the admission stage: bachelor's degree (B.Sc. or equivalent) or degree-awarding certificate.

• For applicants with a foreign qualification at the admission stage: diploma supplement or transcript showing courses, marks, ECTS, academic field, and the grading system used by the university.
