- Admission is intended for applicants with a strong background in biological disciplines. Graduates of class L-13 Biological Sciences who fully satisfy the curricular requirements and followed a training path consistent with CBUI indications may apply. The 2026/2027 call requires 66 ECTS in the Biology sectors BIO/01, BIO/02, BIO/03, BIO/04, BIO/05, BIO/06, BIO/07, BIO/09, BIO/10, BIO/11, BIO/18 and BIO/19, of which at least 6 ECTS must be in BIO/01-BIO/04 and at least 12 ECTS in BIO/06, BIO/07, BIO/09, BIO/10, BIO/11, BIO/18 and BIO/19; 12 ECTS in physics/computer science/mathematics sectors (FIS/01-FIS/08, INF/01, ING-INF/05, MAT/01-MAT/09); and 12 ECTS in chemistry sectors (CHIM/01, CHIM/02, CHIM/03, CHIM/06). Graduates from L-13 who did not follow a CBUI-aligned path, graduates from L-12 Biological Sciences under Ministerial Decree 509/99, and graduates from other degree classes may also be admitted if they hold at least 90 ECTS in the listed scientific groups. For L-25 Agricultural and Forestry Science and Technology and related classes, credits in AGR/02, AGR/03, AGR/07, AGR/12, AGR/13, AGR/16, AGR/17, VET/01 and VET/02 are also considered. Final-year first-cycle students may apply if they have at least 156 ECTS at the time of the admission exam and graduate by 31 October 2026. Foreign qualifications may be admitted if recognized as suitable by the University. Personal preparation is assessed through an admission interview in English on biology and plant science topics; a minimum overall score of 60/100 is required.
- Dil Koşulları
- English proficiency at CEFR B2 or higher is required for admission. The manifesto states that applicants can prove this through a recognized B2-or-higher certificate obtained no more than three years earlier and uploaded during the online application, or through English level achieved in University of Milan SLAM courses/tests passed within the last four years. The call also states that a B2-level certificate or a B2 result in the University language placement test can be used. Applicants who do not submit a valid certificate may still take the admission interview, but they will be admitted only if the committee judges their English to be unequivocally good during the interview. No Italian certificate is required for admission; Italian appears only as an optional additional language activity in the study plan.
- Sınav / Test
- The admission exam is an interview. For EU citizens and EU residents who do not require a visa, it is scheduled for 18 June 2026 at 2:00 pm (CEST) at the Department of Biosciences, Via G. Celoria 26, Milan; applicants not residing in Italy may request an online interview. Non-European applicants who do not reside in an EU member state (visa applicants) are first screened on their curriculum and, if the requirements are met, are invited to an online interview on 11 May 2026. The interview is conducted in English and evaluates biology and plant science knowledge and, where needed, English proficiency. Scoring is up to 25 points for the graduation grade (or average grade for undergraduates), up to 10 points for curriculum, and up to 65 points for the interview; at least 60/100 is required for admission.

Belirsizlik Notları
- The 2026/2027 call is internally inconsistent on the reopened non-EU / visa-application window after the first ranking round. Art. 1 and Art. 4 say that, if places remain, applications reopen from 14 May until 12 June 2026 at 12:00 pm (noon), while Art. 5.1 says applications will be accepted until 29 May 2026 at 12:00 pm (noon). The main visa-applicant deadline of 30 April 2026 at 12:00 pm (noon) is clear.
- The programme is officially presented as entirely in English, but the 2026/2027 study plan still lists optional Italian activities (Additional Language Skills: Italian and a 3-ECTS Italian laboratory stage). The teaching_language field therefore reflects the official English positioning while noting the optional Italian components.
