- Admission is based on academic excellence. Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent, with strong interest and/or previous studies in political science, sociology, or related subjects, and their academic record is evaluated together with the entrance test. Applicants with Italian degrees are eligible only if their degree belongs to one of these classes: L-05 Philosophy; L-11 Modern Languages and Cultures; L-12 Language Mediation; L-14 Legal Services; L-16 Administration and Organization Studies; L-18 Economics and Business Management; L-20 Communication Sciences; L-33 Economics; L-36 Political Science and International Relations; L-37 Social Sciences for Cooperation, Development and Peace; L-39 Social Service; L-40 Sociology; L-41 Statistics; L-42 History. Applicants with foreign degrees are eligible if they hold a bachelor's degree in political science, sociology, economics, or another broadly related subject and the qualification is recognized as appropriate and equivalent to one of the listed Italian classes. According to the admission notice, candidates may graduate and meet the curricular requirements by 31 December 2026.

- [uncertain] Admission requires sound knowledge of English. Non-native English speakers must demonstrate at least B2 English. IELTS or TOEFL will be taken into account, and candidates may also prove English proficiency through at least one year of university studies at an institution where English is the main language. The GPS admissions committee ascertains the B2 requirement. The application page also states that no Italian language test is required for admission. However, the official sources reviewed do not provide a closed list of accepted English certificates or a fully explicit submission timing rule beyond requiring a complete application by the deadline and stating in the admission notice that linguistic requirements can be met by 31 December 2026.
- Sınav / Test
- The programme uses an online admission test as the entry requirements examination. All applicants who submit a complete application are invited to sit the test. The exam consists of about 50 multiple-choice questions plus a few short open-answer questions covering General Sociology, Introduction to Political Science, Social Research Methods, and General Knowledge or Current Affairs in Global Politics and Society. Passing the exam is required in addition to strong academic records and English proficiency. Main test date: 11 May 2026; all non-EU applicants requiring a visa must take this session, and EU applicants who apply by 30 April 2026 may also use it. Second test date: 27 July 2026, reserved only for EU applicants who submit after 30 April 2026. Candidates who fail the 11 May 2026 test cannot retake the 27 July 2026 session. The admission board may also request an interview and/or a written test.

- The official pages reviewed do not publish a closed list of accepted English-language certificates for GPS admission. They explicitly mention IELTS, TOEFL, and at least one year of English-medium university study, with the admissions committee making the final B2 assessment; therefore language_requirements is marked [uncertain].
- The admission notice says curricular and linguistic requirements may be met by 31 December 2026, but the GPS application page also says only applicants with a complete application meeting the requirements by the relevant application deadline are admitted to the entrance exam. The sources do not fully explain how borderline cases are operationalized before the test.
- The programme is officially classified as English and the 2026/2027 manifesto says it is entirely taught in English, but the same manifesto also lists some optional Italian-language activities or electives. The teaching_language field follows the official programme classification.
