Applicants must hold, or obtain by 31 December 2026, a bachelor's degree in one of the listed Italian classes L-21 (Town, Regional and Environmental Planning), L-25 (Agricultural Science and Technology), or L-32 (Environmental Sciences), or a foreign qualification recognized as suitable by the Admission Board. Applicants from other degree classes may also apply if they have at least 30 CFU/ECTS in the subject areas listed by the programme: AGR/01, AGR/02, AGR/03, AGR/04, AGR/05, AGR/07, AGR/08, AGR/09, AGR/10, AGR/11, AGR/12, AGR/13, AGR/14, AGR/16, BIO/01, BIO/02, BIO/03, BIO/04, BIO/07, BIO/13, BIO/19, CHIM/01, CHIM/06, CHIM/12, GEO/02, GEO/04, GEO/05, ICAR/06, ICAR/15, ICAR/20, ICAR/21, IUS/03, IUS/09, IUS/14, and SECS-P/08. Admission requires case-by-case verification of curricular requirements and adequate personal preparation by a Commission/Admission Board. The Board checks coherence between the applicant's background and the three reference classes and basic-subject preparation. Personal preparation is considered adequate if the bachelor's final mark is higher than 77/110, or, for applicants who have not yet graduated, if the average exam mark is higher than 21/30.

English at CEFR B2 or higher is required for admission. UniMi states that the requirement is verified by SLAM through one of these official routes: a valid B2-or-higher certificate recognized by the University and issued no more than three years before the application date, uploaded during the online application; an English level achieved in a University of Milan degree programme and certified by SLAM no more than four years before the application date, checked automatically; or the SLAM English entry test according to the official calendar. If the applicant does not upload a valid certificate or does not meet the required level, they will be directed to the SLAM test. If they fail the test or miss it without an accepted excuse, the official SLAM page for master's English requirements sets the certificate-submission deadline for this programme at 31 December 2026 via InformaStudenti. Separately, the 2026/2027 manifesto states that students who do not hold an Italian high school diploma or degree may choose the 3-ECTS Additional language skills: Italian activity by proving Italian at CEFR A2; this is a study-plan rule, not an admission condition.

No standard fixed entrance-exam date is published in the inspected 2026/2027 sources. Admission is officially open but subject to verification of curricular requirements and adequate personal preparation. The Admission Board may request an interview and/or a written test, either in person or remotely. Separately, applicants who do not already satisfy the English requirement through an accepted document or prior recognized SLAM assessment may be required to take the SLAM English entry test.
