- Applicants must hold, or obtain by 31/12/2026, an Italian three-year degree in one of the listed classes (L-6, L-7, L-8, L-9, L-13, L-15, L-16, L-18, L-21, L-25, L-26, L-27, L-30, L-31, L-32, L-33, L-34, L-35, L-36, L-37, L-38, L-40, L-41, L-42, L-43) or an equivalent foreign qualification recognized as suitable by the University. Applicants from other degree classes, and applicants with foreign degrees, may still be admitted subject to a favorable decision by the Didactic Committee or a special committee. Candidates must have acquired at least 90 ECTS in the specified scientific-disciplinary sectors across mathematics/physics/statistics, business/economics/management, agricultural-biological-chemical-geological sciences, architecture/engineering, computer science, law, and social sciences. Minimum subject-area thresholds are 6 ECTS in mathematics and statistics, 6 ECTS in economics/agricultural economics, and 6 ECTS in management. Students lacking these prerequisites may fill gaps through crash courses starting at the end of August; these crash courses are only for admitted students and are not compulsory. Applicants with foreign qualifications are expected to meet requirements equivalent to the Italian minimum requirements, which are verified by a special committee.

- Applicants must either be English mother tongue, hold a high-school diploma taught in English, hold a Bachelor's or other first-level university degree taught in English, or otherwise prove English at B2 CEFR or higher. When a certificate is needed, it must be uploaded with the online application. If the applicant's English level was achieved during a University of Milan degree programme and certified by the University Language Centre (SLAM) no more than four years before the admission-application date, verification is automatic and no certificate must be attached. Candidates who meet the formal requirements are invited to an interview conducted in English; if no English proficiency certificate was submitted, the interview also assesses English skills.

- To finalize enrolment with a foreign qualification: Statement of Comparability from an ENIC-NARIC centre such as CIMEA, or a Dichiarazione di Valore in loco; for Lisbon Convention countries, a Diploma Supplement or ARDI Correspondence Statement may replace them.
