Kampüs

Monte Sant'Angelo — Complesso Universitario di Monte Sant'Angelo, Naples. The orientamento.unina.it course card gives the site as "University of Naples Federico II 'Monte Sant'Angelo Campus, Via Vicinale Cupa Cintia, 26, 80126 Naples (NA)", with "Department of Biology: Building 7". The Department of Biology programme page gives the coordinator's address as "Complesso Universitario di Monte S. Angelo, Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II, Via Cinthia – 80126 Naples, Italy, Department of Biology – Building 7, Room number: 1D/09". The programme FAQ confirms teaching location: "All classes will be held at the Monte Sant'Angelo Campus, in Naples". The programme belongs to the Department of Biology (Dipartimento di Biologia) and sits under the Scuola Politecnica e delle Scienze di Base (School of Polytechnic and Basic Sciences). Note the two street-name renderings used across official pages — "Via Vicinale Cupa Cintia, 26" and "Via Cinthia" — refer to the same Monte Sant'Angelo complex; only the internal building/office reference differs.

Kabul Tipi

OPEN ACCESS — the orientamento.unina.it course card states "Admission Libero" (free/open access). There is NO numero programmato, NO capped intake, NO competitive ranking list (graduatoria) and NO rectoral admission call (bando di concorso) for this programme. Art. 5 of the Didactic Regulation leaves any planning of enrolments to the CCD ("The CCD of the Master's Degree Program normally regulates the admission criteria and the possible planning of enrolments except in the case subject to different provisions of law"), and no such cap has been published. However, "open access" does NOT mean automatic entry. A mandatory two-step procedure applies, and step 1 is a genuine screening gate: (1) ADMISSION — compulsory for ALL applicants regardless of nationality (Italian, EU and Extra-EU). The candidate submits an online application (Google Form at https://forms.gle/6DNRdeKQ4m5FQEkUA) with all documents merged into a SINGLE PDF, plus the signed "FORM 1 – Recognition of Foreign University Title". The Program Admission Committee evaluates the bachelor degree and transcripts against the curricular requirements and verifies English proficiency. On a positive outcome the Programme Coordinator issues a PRE-ACCEPTANCE LETTER, which is required for enrolment and for the visa application. Art. 5 of the Didactic Regulation makes this compulsory: "Verification of personal preparation is mandatory in any case, and only students in possession of the curricular requirements can access it." - EXCEPTION for EU/Italian applicants holding a bachelor in class L-13, L-32 or L-2 (or the D.M. 509/99 equivalents): they "may proceed directly to the Enrollment procedure" without prior evaluation. Applicants with any other bachelor must first e-mail their documents to bioextreme@unina.it for academic evaluation and obtain the Pre-Acceptance Letter. - Note: the same Department page and the orientamento card also present the ADMISSION step (Google Form + Form 1) as "common to ALL the students (Italian, EU and Extra-EU)", which sits in tension with the direct-enrolment shortcut granted to L-13/L-32/L-2 holders; see uncertainty_notes. (2) ENROLMENT — route depends on citizenship/residency: - Italian and EU students: online via SegrePass (https://www.segrepass1.unina.it/Welcome.do). - Extra-EU students resident abroad: mandatory pre-enrolment on the Universitaly portal (https://www.universitaly.it/) uploading the Pre-Acceptance Letter, then visa, then final enrolment (matriculation) in Naples at the Student Office. No SAT, no TOLC, no CEnT, no national test, no motivation-letter requirement, no GPA threshold, no interview for the general case (an English interview may be required — see entry_exam_or_test).

Resmî Eğitim Dili

English — the programme is taught entirely in English and is listed in the University of Naples Federico II "International Course Catalogue" (international.unina.it). The orientamento.unina.it course card shows "Language ENG". This is a STANDALONE English-taught degree, not an English track of an Italian-language programme: the Didactic Regulation records "Teaching language: English" for the whole degree, and Art. 4 confirms "The course is taught in English". Both curricula ("Biological Resources" and "Astrobiology") are delivered in English; there is no parallel Italian-language curriculum. Course delivery is "conventional" (in-presence); the FAQ states "Lectures will be in presence and not offered online." Italian language proficiency is NOT an admission requirement. Italian appears only inside the study plan as an optional/complementary item: both curricula reserve 6 credits in Year II for "Other activity / Italian language * (*for international student)". The University-wide UniversItaly brochure confirms the B2 Italian requirement applies only "For programmes taught in Italian".

  • A.Y. 2026/2027 — Italian and EU citizens (and non-EU citizens legally resident in Italy). Because the programme is open access there is no competition deadline; what applies are (a) an informal programme-level admission window and (b) the University's statutory enrolment calendar. Official sources give three different closing dates and are not reconciled.
  • PROGRAMME LEVEL (Department of Biology, "ENROLL HERE!" notice, page last modified 25/08/2026):
  • - Pre-enrolment opens: 1 March 2026 — "PRE-ENROLLMENT STARTING MARCH 1st! The enrollment procedure for Italian, European and International perspective students is now open!"

AB / AEA dışı adaylar

  • A.Y. 2026/2027 — non-EU citizens resident abroad (visa-requiring applicants). Official unina.it sources disagree on the single most important date, so both readings are recorded.
  • STEP 0 — ADMISSION (programme level): submit the Google Form + Form 1 to the Program Admission Committee and obtain the Pre-Acceptance Letter. No published deadline of its own, but it must precede Universitaly. The University brochure advises: "It is advisable to obtain the admission to your chosen programme before applying on Universitaly. Otherwise… a dedicated team will forward your documents for evaluation. In this case, processing times may be longer."
  • STEP 1 — UNIVERSITALY PRE-ENROLMENT. CONFLICT:

Kabul koşulları

Akademik geçmiş
  • Seats (total): NOT PUBLISHED — no capped intake exists. The programme is open access: the orientamento.unina.it course card states "Admission Libero", and no numero programmato, no total number of places and no ranking list are published on any unina.it page. Art. 5 of the Didactic Regulation reserves to the CCD the "possible planning of enrolments" but no such planning has been enacted or published. Intake is therefore limited only by the curricular and English requirements screened by the Program Admission Committee. | Seats (non-EU reserved): NOT PUBLISHED — no reserved contingent (contingente riservato ai cittadini non comunitari residenti all'estero) is published for this programme on any unina.it page. Federico II publishes such per-programme quotas only for restricted-access (numero programmato) degrees; for open-access programmes such as this one, non-EU applicants resident abroad are admitted on the strength of the Programme Coordinator's Pre-Acceptance Letter and the Universitaly pre-enrolment procedure rather than against a numeric quota. The international.unina.it admission regulation makes no mention of quotas for open-access programmes. Prospective applicants should confirm with pre-enrolment@unina.it, since the ministerial contingent tables are normally settled in April–May and published on the MUR website.
  • Master-level entry: a three-year first-cycle university degree (Laurea Triennale / bachelor, minimum 3 years) or an equivalent qualification obtained abroad deemed suitable by the Course Council.
  • A) DIRECT CURRICULAR ELIGIBILITY (Art. 4, Didactic Regulation 2025/26) — holders of an Italian three-year degree in:
Dil yeterliliği
  • ENGLISH — minimum CEFR B2. This is the only compulsory language requirement.
  • Art. 4 of the Didactic Regulation 2025/26 (binding wording): "The course is taught in English, so the student must have adequate knowledge of it (minimum level B2 required). The verification of knowledge of the English language consists in the presentation by the student of an internationally recognized B2 level certificate or through an interview, the methods of which will be indicated from time to time by the CCD."
  • Two alternative ways to satisfy it:
Sınav / değerlendirme
  • NO entrance examination of any kind. There is no written admission test, no TOLC, no CEnT, no SAT, no national test, no portfolio and no ranking algorithm — the programme is open access and admission is decided by DOCUMENT REVIEW, with an ORAL/INTERVIEW component used only in specific cases.
  • 1) DOCUMENT-BASED ASSESSMENT (the standard route, all nationalities). The Program Admission Committee (Commissione di Ammissione) evaluates the bachelor degree and Transcript of Records against the curricular requirements of Art. 4 of the Didactic Regulation. FAQ-1: "The Program Admission Committee for the Master's Degree program BExE will evaluate your Bachelor and transcripts, which need to be attached to your application, and will provide feedback and eventually admit you to the program." A positive outcome produces the Pre-Acceptance Letter. Art. 5 of the Didactic Regulation makes the underlying check compulsory: "Verification of personal preparation is mandatory in any case, and only students in possession of the curricular requirements can access it. The verification methods will be redefined annually by the CCD and published on the WEB site of the Department of Biology."
  • 2) ENGLISH TEST OR INTERVIEW (conditional, not universal). Required only where an internationally recognised B2 certificate is absent or where the Committee wants confirmation:

Hazırlanacak belgeler

    • A) ADMISSION STEP — uploaded as a SINGLE PDF to the online form https://forms.gle/6DNRdeKQ4m5FQEkUA (required of all applicants; EU/Italian holders of L-13, L-32 or L-2 bachelors may skip straight to enrolment):
    • - Bachelor Diploma
    • - Transcript of Records (ToR) in English, with a detailed description of the courses attended and the exams passed to obtain the final degree (only for foreign students)

  • 1) NON-EU UNIVERSITALY DEADLINE CONFLICT (most consequential). The Department of Biology's own notice and the University-wide UniversItaly 2026/27 brochure both give 15 June 2026 as the Universitaly pre-enrolment deadline, while the programme's FAQ-1 (published May 2026) states 10 July 2026 for the same portal step. The brochure additionally rules that after 15 June pre-enrolment continues "to the programmes with restricted access only" — and this programme is OPEN access, which makes 15 June a hard stop for it. The most coherent reading is: Universitaly by 15 June 2026, programme-side enrolment completion by 10 July 2026. Applicants must confirm with pre-enrolment@unina.it and bioextreme@unina.it. Note this is the OPPOSITE of the same Department's restricted-access bachelor (Biology for One-Health), where late non-EU pre-enrolment remains possible. 2) EU/ITALIAN CLOSING DATE CONFLICT. The Department page says Italian and EU students "can enroll until October 31st"; the University's Guida all'iscrizione 2026/27 sets the ordinary period end at 2 November 2026; and § 6 of the same guide allows first-year master's enrolment up to 31 March 2027 (with EUR 50 / EUR 110 late surcharges and a possible 6–12 CFU precondition after 31 December 2026). All three are simultaneously true at different levels of authority; 31 October is the programme's advisory date, 2 November the statutory ordinary deadline, 31 March 2027 the outer limit. 3) CONFLICTING CURRICULAR REQUIREMENT TABLES. Art. 4 of the Didactic Regulation (and the orientamento and scuolapsb pages, which copy it) requires roughly 30 CFU BIO/* + MED/04 + MED/42, 6 CFU maths/informatics, 6 CFU physics, 6 CFU chemistry. The programme FAQ-1 imposes a heavier 60-CFU distribution over six SSD groups plus a 90-CFU minimum bachelor. These are not reconciled anywhere on unina.it. The Didactic Regulation is the binding instrument; the FAQ likely reflects the Admission Committee's working practice. Borderline applicants should have the Committee assess them explicitly. 4) STALE YEARS INSIDE THE 2026/27 FAQ. FAQ-1 is dated "Last update May 15" and was published in May 2026, but retains uncorrected text from earlier cycles: "will close on October 31st 2023", "select the academic year (the upcoming one is 2023/2024)", and FAQ-2's "Extra-EU Students have a hard deadline on July 10th 2023". The 2026 dates that do appear ("July 10th, 2026") were updated; the surrounding text was not. Treat year references inside the FAQs with caution. 5) TYPO IN THE UNIVERSITALY BROCHURE. The "Deadlines" page correctly gives JAN 31 2027 as the enrolment-completion deadline, but the "Matriculation" page of the same document says "students who obtained visa are required to matriculate by 31 January 2026". 31 January 2027 is the correct date for A.Y. 2026/2027. 6) ADMISSION-STEP SCOPE AMBIGUITY. The orientamento card and the Department page both describe the ADMISSION procedure (Google Form + FORM 1) as "common to ALL the students (Italian, EU and Extra-EU)" and "mandatory", yet the Department page's EU/Italian section says holders of an L-13, L-32 or L-2 bachelor "may proceed directly to the Enrollment procedure". FAQ-1 partly resolves it: Italian students follow the standard online procedure with "The only additional step ... the requirement to fill in the Admission form ... and provide proof of English proficiency." Safest reading: everyone should submit the Admission form; only the Committee's academic-evaluation step is waived for L-13/L-32/L-2 holders. 7) NO SEAT NUMBERS EXIST. seats_total and non_eu_reserved_seats are marked uncertain because they are genuinely NOT published, not because sources conflict — the programme is open access with no numero programmato and no non-EU contingent published on any unina.it page. Federico II publishes per-programme non-EU quotas only for restricted-access degrees. 8) TUITION FIGURES CONFLICT. The programme FAQ and international.unina.it both publish a flat "EUR 200/year + EUR 140 regional tax + EUR 16 stamp" (EU) / "EUR 140 + EUR 16" (non-EU) schedule that is irreconcilable with the 2026/27 Guida all'iscrizione (ISEEU-based contribution, exempt up to EUR 30,000, max EUR 2,384.00; regional tax 130/151/173). The flat figures appear stale; the 2026/27 guide and calcolatrice.unina.it are authoritative. Also note the first-year discount is forfeited by applicants who already hold a degree of the same type — directly relevant since the programme explicitly welcomes applicants who already hold a master's. 9) NO NUMERIC ENGLISH THRESHOLDS. Unlike some other Federico II programmes, no IELTS/TOEFL score bands and no list of accepted certifying bodies are published for this programme — only "internationally recognized B2" plus a CLA placement test / CCD interview fallback. 10) DATA CURRENCY AND PAGE STATE. Department of Biology pages were last modified 25/08/2026; the FAQ PDFs were published 22 May 2026; the fee guide is dated 10/07/2026. Retrieved 30 Ağustos 2026. The orientamento.unina.it course card is visibly older in places — its "Graduation dates" section still lists Academic Year 2023/2024 sessions. As of the retrieval date the EU/Italian enrolment window for 2026/27 is OPEN, while the non-EU Universitaly and programme-enrolment windows have CLOSED. 11) TLS AND CONTENT-INTEGRITY CAVEATS. The orientamento.unina.it host presents a TLS chain that some fetchers reject ("unable to verify the first certificate"); the page was retrieved successfully but certificate warnings should be expected. Separately, the Department of Biology WordPress site carries injected SEO spam text in its page footers; this was ignored and had no bearing on any extracted fact. 12) OFF-DOMAIN SOURCES DELIBERATELY EXCLUDED. The programme also runs a self-hosted site at bioextreme.it, and its application forms are Google-hosted (forms.gle / drive.google.com). Per the source restriction, no fact in this record is sourced from bioextreme.it. The Google-hosted admission form and FORM 1 are cited only because they are the application entry points linked directly from the official unina.it pages; the FAQ PDFs, by contrast, are hosted on the unina.it domain and are treated as official. 13) DIPLOMA NAME. The awarded Italian degree title is "Biologia degli Ambienti Estremi" (class LM-6 Biologia); the English designation "Biology of Extreme Environments" is used throughout. There is no divergence between programme name and diploma name beyond the language of record. Graduates are trained as Biologists with access to research, space-agency and biotechnology careers.
