Kampüs

FUORIGROTTA, WESTERN NAPLES - the Department of Industrial Engineering's engineering campus. This RESOLVES the research brief's "campus: dogrulanacak / to be verified", and it is NOT Monte Sant'Angelo, Policlinico, Portici, San Giovanni a Teduccio or Frullone. TWO ADDRESSES ARE OFFICIALLY DECLARED FOR THIS DEGREE. The orientation portal, under "Directions - Sedi del Corso di Studio del Dipartimento di Ingegneria Industriale", lists exactly two: (a) Via Claudio, 21 - 80125 Napoli (Italia); (b) Piazzale Tecchio, 80 - 80125 Napoli (Italia). Students should expect to move between the two sites; they are about 700 m apart in the Fuorigrotta district. THE CENTRAL UNIVERSITY RECORD gives a single seat: "Sede: Piazzale Tecchio, 80 - 80125 - Napoli", with orientation desk telephone 081-7682646, fax 081-7682206, e-mail ingegneria.orienta@unina.it. THE DEPARTMENTAL BROCHURE describes the area in plain terms: "Teaching activities, labs, libraries and offices of the Department of Industrial Engineering are located in Napoli (Fuorigrotta) close to the San Paolo stadium" (the stadium is now named Stadio Diego Armando Maradona). STUDENT RECORDS OFFICE (Segreteria Studenti) - the office where students holding foreign qualifications must complete enrolment, because they cannot use the online SegrePass route: Segreteria Studenti Area didattica Ingegneria, Triennio Ingegneria, Piazzale Tecchio 80, 80125 Napoli; e-mail segreing@unina.it; PEC segreing@pec.unina.it; open to the public Monday to Friday 09:00-12:00 and additionally Tuesday and Thursday 14:30-16:30. School-level FAQ and forms: https://www.scuolapsb.unina.it/ufficio-area-didattica-ingegneria/. Individual study plans and the declaration of the chosen curriculum (SEI, GAE, SP or SE) go to the "Segreteria Studenti dell'Area Didattica di Ingegneria della Scuola Politecnica e delle Scienze di Base". LECTURE TIMETABLES AND ROOMS are published dynamically on the University's EasyAcademy agenda: http://easyacademy.unina.it/agendastudenti/index.php?view=rooms&include=rooms&_lang=it. The dynamically updated examination calendar is a Google Sheet linked from the programme site (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1cZvJeqdMYJHc1ybSQbc-j-ZqQwDOqoKShWbmgzKMR3U/edit) and from http://meccanica.dii.unina.it/it/info-lmea. The Engineering teaching calendar is at https://www.scuolapsb.unina.it/calendario-delle-attivita-didattiche-del-collegio-di-ingegneria/. Course-delivery modality is recorded in the study plan as "Lecture / in person" ("Lezione frontale / in presenza") for every Sustainable Energy course - there is NO online or blended option. WHICH OF THE TWO ADDRESSES HOSTS THE SUSTAINABLE ENERGY LECTURES IS NOT PUBLISHED. Neither the orientation portal, nor the departmental site, nor the Didactic Regulations assign specific rooms or buildings to the SE curriculum; only the live EasyAcademy timetable resolves this, and it is populated shortly before each semester. Also note the SPSB "Polo Ovest / Polo Est" site-preference procedure (Piazzale Tecchio, Via Claudio, Via Nuova Agnano, Monte Sant'Angelo vs San Giovanni a Teduccio) applies to Engineering BACHELOR degrees, not to this two-year master's, which is entirely Polo Ovest.

OPEN ACCESS WITH A COMPULSORY TWO-PART ADMISSION CHECK. The orientation-portal fact sheet labels it "Admission: Verifica di preparazione" (verification of preparation), NOT "Libero" and NOT "numero programmato". There is NO numerus clausus, NO ranked competitive selection, NO bando/call for applications, NO TOLC and NO application fee. POSITIVE PROOF THAT THERE IS NO SEAT CAP: the University's official index of programmed-number courses for a.y. 2026/2027 (https://www.unina.it/it/didattica/offerta-formativa/corsi-numero-programmato) lists only FIVE two-year master's degrees - Precision Livestock Farming (Zootecnica di Precisione), Professioni sanitarie, Psicologia Clinica e degli interventi nei contesti sociali e dello sviluppo, Scienze Enologiche and Scienze della Nutrizione Umana. Neither "Ingegneria meccanica per l'energia e l'ambiente" nor any mechanical/energy engineering course appears anywhere on that page. THE TWO GATES, both compulsory (Art. 5 of the Didactic Regulations, applied uniformly across all master's degrees of the Collegio di Ingegneria of the SPSB). GATE 1 - POSSESSION OF THE CURRICULAR REQUIREMENTS (see academic_requirements). Verbatim: "La verifica della personale preparazione e obbligatoria in ogni caso, e possono accedervi solo gli studenti in possesso dei requisiti curriculari" - the personal-preparation check is compulsory in every case, and only students who already hold the curricular requirements may take it. "L'iscrizione al Corso di Laurea Magistrale non e consentita in difetto dei requisiti minimi curriculari" - enrolment is NOT permitted if the minimum curricular requirements are missing. In that case the CCD (Commissione di Coordinamento Didattico, the Teaching Coordination Committee) prescribes enrolment in single course units (Corsi Singoli, https://www.unina.it/-/5601348-iscrizione-ai-corsi-singoli) and passing their examinations BEFORE matriculation. GATE 2 - VERIFICATION OF THE ADEQUACY OF PERSONAL PREPARATION, which explicitly includes language competence: "A valle della verifica del possesso dei requisiti curriculari, e altresi obbligatoria la verifica dell'adeguatezza della personale preparazione dello studente, incluso il possesso di adeguate competenze linguistiche." This gate has an AUTOMATIC PASS at a CFU-weighted bachelor average of 24/30 or above, and an admission TEST for everyone below it (see entry_exam_or_test). ARE admitted, with a recommended individual study plan containing an alignment path, at no extra CFU cost. The CCD may also recognise credit equivalences from other subject areas for the 18-CFU core requirement. THREE PRACTICAL ROUTES FOR AN APPLICANT. (1) ITALIAN-QUALIFICATION APPLICANTS: enrol online at https://www.segrepass.unina.it between 16 July and the ordinary deadline. (2) EU CITIZENS, AND ANYONE (EU or non-EU) LEGALLY RESIDENT IN ITALY OR THE EU, HOLDING A FOREIGN QUALIFICATION: no competitive application and no Universitaly pre-enrolment. Per international.unina.it they "have unrestricted access to university courses if you hold a foreign qualification corresponding to the required Italian qualification. In this case you have to send your academic documents to the Coordinator of the course you wish to enrol in to find out whether you meet the enrolment requirements". For this degree the Coordinator is Prof. Fabio Bozza (fabio.bozza@unina.it); the named contacts for foreign-student enrolment are Prof. Francesco Pelella (francesco.pelella@unina.it) and Prof.ssa Enrica Malfi (enrica.malfi@unina.it), with Prof. Alfonso William Mauro (alfonsowilliam.mauro@unina.it) as international-students contact. (3) NON-EU APPLICANTS RESIDING ABROAD: compulsory pre-enrolment on the UNIVERSITALY portal (https://www.universitaly.it/studenti-stranieri) by 15 June 2026, document evaluation by the Coordinator, then a study visa. Because the course is open access, that non-EU pre-enrolment window closes and does not reopen: "After this date pre-enrolment is allowed to the programmes with restricted access only." CRITICAL WARNING: "Be aware that pre-enrolment alone does not grant admission to degree programmes. In order to matriculate you also need to take and pass the verifications of the entry requirements and the admission procedures set for the degree programme of your interest." And: "Important! The University of Naples Federico II does not issue admission letters for obtaining a visa." FOREIGN STUDENTS CANNOT SELF-ENROL ONLINE: the University's 2026/2027 enrolment notice states "Gli studenti stranieri per immatricolarsi devono invece contattare via mail le segreterie studenti" - foreign students must instead contact the student office by e-mail to matriculate (for this degree: segreing@unina.it). NO PROGRAMME-SPECIFIC ADMISSION PAGE FOR INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS EXISTS. This degree publishes no annual one-page "admission rules" sheet in English, no application form for foreign qualifications, no evaluation timetable and no published decision deadlines. Everything international is handled through the generic University channels plus direct e-mail to the Coordinator and the two named foreign-enrolment contacts.

Resmî Eğitim Dili

THE DEGREE AS A WHOLE IS BILINGUAL, NOT ENGLISH. The orientation-portal fact sheet records "Language: ENG/ITA"; the international course catalogue lists it as "Mechanical Engineering for Energy and the Environment ITA/ENG" (contrast the same catalogue's "- ENG" entries such as Data Science or Transportation Engineering and Mobility, which are fully English degrees). Art. 1 of the Didactic Regulations: the course "e tenuto in lingua Italiana ed Inglese" (is taught in Italian and English). ONLY ONE OF THE FOUR CURRICULA IS ENGLISH, AND IT IS FULLY ENGLISH. The binding table "PERCORSI FORMATIVI E LINGUA DI EROGAZIONE" / "CURRICULA AND LANGUAGES" in Annex 1 of the Didactic Regulations assigns: SEI = Italiano/Italian; GAE = Italiano/Italian; SP = Italiano/Italian; SE (Sustainable Energy / Energia Sostenibile) = Inglese/English; MGT (Minor in Green Technologies) = Italiano/Inglese / Italian/English. The Italian premise is explicit: the four standard paths are "'Sistemi Energetici Innovativi', 'Gestione Avanzata dell'Energia', 'Sistemi Propulsivi', e 'Sustainable Energy' (quest'ultimo integralmente erogato in lingua inglese)" - the last one delivered ENTIRELY in English. The English version of the same premise reads: four curricula "called 'Innovative Energy Systems', 'Advanced Energy Management', 'Propulsion Systems', held in Italian Language, and 'Sustainable Energy', held in English, made up of 120 CFU". Art. 2 adds that the offer is organised in several paths "uno dei quali, piu generalista, erogato integralmente in lingua inglese" - one of which, the more generalist one, is delivered entirely in English. THE RULE THAT DECIDES A COURSE'S LANGUAGE, verbatim from Annex 1: "Nelle tabelle delle attivita formative riportate nelle pagg. seguenti, gli insegnamenti con primo titolo in italiano sono erogati in italiano; gli insegnamenti con primo titolo in inglese sono erogati in inglese." (English version: "In the tables of educational activities on the following pages, courses with first title in Italian are offered in Italian language, while those with first title in English are offered in English.") In the Sustainable Energy tables EVERY course is listed English-title-first, so every course is delivered in English. THE COMPLETE ENGLISH-TAUGHT SUSTAINABLE ENERGY SYLLABUS (a.y. 2026/2027 Annex 1, identical to 2025/2026). Table O4a, mandatory, 18 CFU, TAF B: Heat Transfer Principles in Engineering (9 CFU, Yr1/Sem1, IIND-07/A); Principles and Applications of Fluid Machinery (9 CFU, Yr1/Sem2, IIND-06/A). Table O4b, mandatory, 24 CFU, TAF B: Advanced Energy Systems and Technologies - Fundamentals (6 CFU, Yr1/Sem1) and Applications (6 CFU, Yr1/Sem2), IIND-07/A; Advanced Powertrains for a Sustainable Mobility - Fundamentals (6 CFU, Yr2/Sem1) and Modeling and Optimization (6 CFU, Yr2/Sem2), IIND-06/A. Table B4, choose 12 CFU in Yr2, TAF B: Fuel Cells for Power Generation and Energy Storage (6); Gas Turbines for Sustainable Power Production (6); Low Carbon Boilers and Industrial Furnaces (6); Hydro, Wind and Ocean Energy Conversion Systems (6); Fluid Power Systems for Energy Sustainability of Off-Road Vehicles (6). Table C4, choose 12 CFU in Yr2, TAF B: Refrigeration and Heat Pump Technologies (6); Thermo-economic Optimization of Complex Energy Systems (6); Lighting Technology and Acoustics (6); Energy and Buildings (6); Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Systems (6). Table A4, choose 15 CFU, TAF C (related/supplementary, largely borrowed from other Federico II master's degrees): Energy Management for Transportation (9 CFU, from LM-TEAM); Electrical Technologies for the Ecological Transition, split into Electric Energy Storage (3) + Electric Mobility and Generation from Renewables (3), from LM-IELT; Smart, Resilient and Sustainable City (9 CFU, from LM-IAMT); Circular Bioeconomy for the Ecological Transition (6 CFU, from LM-IAMT); Sustainable Combustion Processes for Energy Conversion (9 CFU); Industrial Ecology and Green Engineering (6 CFU, from LM-ICHI). Table D4, autonomous choice, 15 CFU, TAF D: the entries are literally "6 CFUs English courses from every didactic regulation table" and "9 CFUs English courses from every didactic regulation table" (Italian: "Insegnamento in inglese da 6 CFU da qualsiasi Tabella del Manifesto") - i.e. even the free-choice credits must be taken from ENGLISH-taught courses. THIS IS THE KEY POINT: a Sustainable Energy student can complete all 120 CFU without a single Italian-taught examination. OTHER ENGLISH-TAUGHT COURSES AVAILABLE ACROSS THE PROGRAMME'S TABLES (course-description annex marks them "INGLESE"), useful for the free-choice credits: Advanced Energy Systems and Technologies; Advanced Powertrains for a Sustainable Mobility; Circular Bioeconomy for the Ecological Transition; Electric and Hybrid Vehicles; Electrical Technologies for the Ecological Transition; Energy and Buildings; Energy Sustainability in Smart Transportation; Fluid Power Systems for Energy Sustainability of Off-Road Vehicles; Fuel Cells for Power Generation and Energy Storage; Gas Turbines for Sustainable Power Production; Heat Transfer Principles in Engineering; Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning; Hydro, Wind and Ocean Energy Conversion; Lighting Technology and Acoustics; Low Carbon Boilers and Industrial Furnaces; Machine Learning and Big Data; Mathematical Models and Computational Methods for Engineering; Network Security; Principles and Applications of Fluid Machinery; Refrigeration and Heat Pump Technologies; Smart and Electric Mobility; Smart, Resilient and Sustainable City; Space Propulsion; Sustainable Combustion Processes for Energy Conversion; Sustainable Materials; Technologies for Information Systems; Thermo-economic Optimization of Complex Energy Systems; Thermo-mechanical Technologies for Energy. THESIS AND FINAL EXAM MAY BE IN ENGLISH: "La relazione scritta e la discussione potranno essere sviluppate in inglese". TWO PRACTICAL CAVEATS AN APPLICANT MUST WEIGH. (1) The curriculum is chosen at STUDY-PLAN submission (normally by 31 October of each academic year), NOT at admission, and it is a "piano di studi di automatica approvazione" declared to the Engineering Student Office - there is no separate English-track admission, no separate seat allocation and no guarantee published anywhere that the SE path runs with a minimum cohort. (2) University life outside the SE lecture theatre (student office, enrolment paperwork, the departmental Italian-language site, most notices, the Study Plan procedure page http://meccanica.dii.unina.it/it/piani-di-studio-lmea and the internship safety procedure) is conducted in Italian; the English-language departmental pages are partial mirrors. Federico II itself does NOT require Italian for English-taught programmes (international.unina.it: "If you choose a three-year, five-year or single-cycle degree course in ENGLISH, level B2 Italian language proficiency is not required"), but day-to-day administration in Naples effectively assumes it.

THERE IS NO COMPETITIVE APPLICATION DEADLINE FOR EU/EU-TREATED APPLICANTS, BECAUSE THERE IS NO SELECTION. What exists are (a) the University's enrolment (immatricolazione) window, (b) the admission-test sittings for those below 24/30, and (c) the study-plan deadline at which the English curriculum is chosen. ENROLMENT WINDOW FOR a.y. 2026/2027 (binding source: "Guida all'iscrizione Anno accademico 2026-27", section "Date importanti da ricordare"): 16 JULY 2026 - "Inizio periodo ordinario immatricolazione" (ordinary matriculation period opens; matriculation = first-time enrolment on a bachelor, master's or single-cycle degree). 1 SEPTEMBER 2026 - ordinary period opens for transfers and course changes. 2 NOVEMBER 2026 - "Scadenza periodo ordinario immatricolazione e iscrizione agli anni successivi" (ordinary matriculation deadline), also the deadline for the direct INPS retrieval of ISEEU income data. 3 NOVEMBER 2026 - extraordinary period opens. 15 JANUARY 2027 - last day to matriculate late with a EUR 50 surcharge. 16 JANUARY 2027 - late matriculation continues with a EUR 110 surcharge. CONFLICTING DATE ON THE UNIVERSITY'S OWN PAGES - see uncertainty_notes: the orientation portal's 2026/2027 enrolment notice (published 14 July 2026) says "e possibile procedere all'immatricolazione a partire dal 16 luglio e fino al 31 ottobre 2026" (until 31 October 2026), whereas the binding Guida gives 2 November 2026. 31 October 2026 is a Saturday and 2 November the following Monday, which most likely explains the difference; treat 31 October 2026 as the safe date. THE PROGRAMME'S OWN STATEMENT (orientation portal, "Application timeline"): "Enrolment at 1st and subsequent years usually take place from September, 1st to October 31st of each year, in accordance with procedures that are announced in a specific Guide to enrolment and payment of fees published at the URL: https://www.unina.it/didattica/sportello-studenti/guide-dello-studente". This programme-page text is a year-generic summary and is superseded by the 2026/27 Guida for the actual dates. FIRST INSTALMENT TIMING: the first instalment (60% of the contribution + regional tax + stamp duty) is payable "Dal 16 luglio (immatricolazioni L o iscrizioni I anno LM) o dall'1 settembre ed entro il 2 novembre 2026" - i.e. first-year master's enrolments can pay from 16 July, and in all cases by 2 November 2026. ADMISSION-TEST SITTINGS STILL OPEN in the current cycle (only relevant if your bachelor average is below 24/30): 13 October 2026, 10 November 2026, 22 December 2026. Book through the Microsoft Forms link on http://meccanica.dii.unina.it/it/orientamento-lmea. Because a failed sitting bars you from the immediately following date, leaving the test to October is risky against a 2 November enrolment deadline. STUDY-PLAN DEADLINE - THE DATE THAT ACTUALLY SELECTS THE ENGLISH CURRICULUM: "The Study Plan is normally submitted by October 31st of each academic year" (orientation portal). The student communicates the chosen path (SEI, GAE, SP or SE) to the Engineering Student Office; instructions at http://meccanica.dii.unina.it/it/piani-di-studio-lmea. Miss this and you have not formally chosen the Sustainable Energy path. EU CITIZENS AND EU-RESIDENT APPLICANTS WITH A FOREIGN QUALIFICATION have no portal deadline at all - they send documents to the Coordinator whenever they are ready, but must leave the Coordinator enough time to assess eligibility before the enrolment window closes. Note also that foreign-qualification holders cannot use SegrePass and must enrol by e-mailing segreing@unina.it. NO PROGRAMME-LEVEL EVALUATION CALENDAR EXISTS. There is no published date by which the Coordinator must respond to a document submission, no stated evaluation turnaround, and no formal offer letter. The dates above are all University-level; the only programme-specific dates in the whole record are the admission-test sittings and the 31 October study-plan deadline. Dates for a.y. 2027/2028 were not published as of 30 August 2026.

AB / AEA dışı adaylar

THE ONLY HARD DEADLINE IN THIS ENTIRE RECORD, AND IT IS EARLY: 15 JUNE 2026 for Universitaly pre-enrolment for a.y. 2026/2027. Verbatim from international.unina.it: "JUNE - 15 - 2026 - Pre-enrolment application deadline to University of Naples Federico II. After this date no programme changes are permitted. After this date pre-enrolment is allowed to the programmes with restricted access only." READ THE LAST SENTENCE CAREFULLY: because this degree is OPEN ACCESS (not restricted access), its non-EU pre-enrolment window closes on 15 June and does NOT reopen. AS OF 30 AUGUST 2026 THIS DEADLINE HAS PASSED for the 2026/2027 intake - a non-EU applicant residing abroad is now targeting a.y. 2027/2028, whose deadline had not been published at the time of research but has fallen in mid-June in recent cycles. SECOND DEADLINE: "NOVEMBER - 30 - 2026 - Deadline for submitting the Visa Application at Italian Embassies/Consulates." THE PROCEDURE, in the University's own words. "The university pre-enrolment application is the first step to be taken by a candidate in order to apply for a visa for study purposes at an Italian diplomatic representation." "University pre-enrolment is a compulsory procedure, which is the responsibility of the Embassy and precedes the phase of issuing the study visa and the university enrolment phases; it concerns foreign students abroad and must be concluded before the student's enrolment procedure at the chosen university." "The pre-enrolment application is made exclusively through the Universitaly portal (visit https://www.universitaly.it/studenti-stranieri)." In the application you indicate the University of Naples Federico II, choose the degree programme, and specify the Embassy/Consulate where you will apply for the visa. TWO WARNINGS THE UNIVERSITY PRINTS IN BOLD. "Be aware that pre-enrolment alone does not grant admission to degree programmes. In order to matriculate you also need to take and pass the verifications of the entry requirements and the admission procedures set for the degree programme of your interest." And: "Important! The University of Naples Federico II does not issue admission letters for obtaining a visa." So there is no admission letter to wait for - the validated Universitaly pre-enrolment summary is what you take to the Embassy. WHAT THE EMBASSY NEEDS FROM YOU: "the summary of the pre-enrolment application submitted through Universitaly and validated by the University of Naples Federico II; any language competence certificates; the documents required for the visa application, including a health insurance policy where applicable; the required documents if you hold a foreign qualification." WHAT YOU GET BACK: a type "D" study visa ("studio - immatricolazione universita"), a stamped health insurance policy where applicable, and your returned qualification documents. VISA FINANCIAL AND MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS, verbatim: "Economic means of subsistence for the planned stay equal to EUR 10.179,85 per year, proven by means of personal financial guarantees or those of parents or Italian or foreign citizens legally residing in Italian territory, or provided by Italian institutions and bodies of proven credit"; funds for repatriation (a return ticket suffices); suitable accommodation in Italy; adequate medical/hospitalisation insurance cover. If the University confirms your pre-enrolment "with reservations" (qualification not yet in hand, or admission/language check still pending), the consulate still issues the type D visa so you can sit the checks in Italy without returning home. AFTER ARRIVAL: apply for the residence permit (permesso di soggiorno) - a EUR 16 duty stamp, EUR 30.46 + EUR 40.00 permit fee and about EUR 30 registered-post charge at the Post Office, plus the enrolment certificate from segreing@unina.it sent to the Questura. NON-EU CITIZENS ALREADY LEGALLY RESIDENT IN ITALY OR THE EU ARE EXEMPT FROM ALL OF THIS: "If you are a non-European student without the need for a visa and regularly residing in Italy with a regular study visa, you may present your academic documents directly to the Coordinator of the Course in which you wish to enrol. You will therefore not need to pre-register on the Universitaly Portal." They then follow the ordinary enrolment window (16 July - 2 November 2026 for 2026/27). FOUR UNRESOLVED POINTS. (1) The 2027/2028 pre-enrolment deadline was not published as of 30 August 2026. (2) There is no stated deadline by which the Coordinator validates a pre-enrolment on Universitaly, and no published service standard - validation is what makes the summary usable at the Embassy, so a late validation can cost the whole cycle. (3) The admission-test sittings (13 October, 10 November, 22 December 2026) all fall AFTER the June pre-enrolment deadline and even after the November visa deadline, and nothing explains how a non-EU applicant below 24/30 sequences the test against the visa timetable. (4) The University's own UniversItaly information sheet (https://www.unina.it/documents/20117/4260320/UniversItaly_2026_27.pdf) is a scanned image; its contents could not be verified as text, so the deadlines above rest on the international.unina.it admission-regulation page alone.

  • Seats (total): NO SEAT LIMIT IS SET - the programme is open access (accesso libero con verifica di preparazione), so no total number of places exists to be published. EVIDENCE: (1) the orientation-portal fact sheet records the admission mode as "Verifica di preparazione", not "numero programmato"
  • (2) the University's official 2026/2027 index of programmed-number courses lists only five two-year master's degrees - Precision Livestock Farming, Professioni sanitarie, Psicologia Clinica e degli interventi nei contesti sociali e dello sviluppo, Scienze Enologiche, Scienze della Nutrizione Umana - and this degree is not among them
  • (3) no bando, no ranking (graduatoria), no application fee and no application deadline of a competitive kind is published for it anywhere on unina.it
Dil yeterliliği
  • THIS IS THE MOST COUNTER-INTUITIVE FIELD IN THIS RECORD, SO READ IT IN FULL: DESPITE HOSTING A FULLY ENGLISH-TAUGHT CURRICULUM, THE DEGREE DOES NOT REQUIRE AN ENGLISH CERTIFICATE TO BE ADMITTED. There is no IELTS/TOEFL threshold, no B2 English entry requirement, and no English-language interview in the admission rules. THE ACTUAL ENTRY RULE, verbatim from Art. 5: "Per quanto attiene invece alla verifica di adeguate competenze linguistiche, le studentesse e gli studenti non in possesso di un titolo di studio ottenuto a seguito della frequenza di un corso di studio erogato in lingua italiana o inglese, e non in possesso di certificazioni o idoneita linguistiche relative alla conoscenza della lingua italiana o inglese almeno a livello B1 del Quadro Comune Europeo di Riferimento (QCER), dovranno dimostrare, in un test di idoneita, di possedere adeguate capacita di comprensione e conversazione in italiano o in inglese." Official English rendering: "students who have not obtained a degree taught in Italian or English, and who do not possess a certification or attestation of language proficiency in either language at a minimum B1 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), are required to demonstrate adequate comprehension and conversational skills in Italian or English through a proficiency test." UNPACKING THAT RULE: (a) the bar is B1, not B2
  • (b) it is satisfied by ITALIAN **OR** ENGLISH - Italian alone formally satisfies it, even for someone intending to follow the English curriculum
  • (c) it is waived outright if your bachelor was taught in Italian or English (so a graduate of any English-medium university needs no certificate at all)
Sınav / değerlendirme

THERE IS NO COMPETITIVE ENTRANCE EXAM, BUT THERE IS A CONDITIONAL ADMISSION TEST. Sequence: curricular requirements are checked first; only applicants who hold them proceed to the personal-preparation check; that check is passed AUTOMATICALLY on a grade average, and only those below the threshold sit a test. English version: "the weighted average grade M based on the CFU credits of the courses and the marks (on 30-point scale) obtained in the exams required for the Bachelor's Degree, granting access to the Master's Programme, is computed. Academic preparation is considered adequate if M >= 24." So a CFU-weighted bachelor examination average of at least 24/30 clears the gate with no test. (24/30 is roughly 80% on the Italian scale; broadly comparable to a UK 2:1, a US GPA around 3.0-3.2, or an ECTS C/B boundary - but no official conversion table is published for this course.) THE ADMISSION TEST for everyone below 24/30: "Gli studenti che non soddisfano il precedente criterio dovranno sostenere uno specifico Test di ammissione." FORMAT: 35 multiple-choice questions drawn at random from a published bank of 140. COVERAGE: 5 questions randomly drawn from 20 available for EACH of ten mechanical-engineering sectors - IIND-06/A Macchine a Fluido; IIND-06/B Sistemi per l'Energia e l'Ambiente; IIND-07/A Fisica Tecnica Industriale; IIND-07/B Fisica Tecnica Ambientale; IMIS-01/A Misure Meccaniche e Termiche; IIND-02/A Meccanica Applicata alle Macchine; IIND-03/A Progettazione Meccanica e Costruzione di Macchine; IIND-03/B Disegno e Metodi dell'Ingegneria Industriale; IIND-04/A Tecnologie e Sistemi di Lavorazione; IIND-05/A Impianti Industriali Meccanici. PASS MARK: "Il Test si intendera superato se lo studente avra risposto positivamente a 21 dei 35 quesiti" - 21 correct out of 35 (60%). THE FULL QUESTION BANK IS PUBLISHED IN ADVANCE - all 140 questions: http://meccanica.dii.unina.it/images/lmpp/Lista_domande_Test.pdf. Note the URL path is /lmpp/ because the same bank and the same test serve BOTH LM-33 master's degrees (Ingegneria Meccanica per l'Energia e l'Ambiente and Ingegneria Meccanica per la Progettazione e la Produzione). RETAKE RULES: "Il Test puo essere ripetuto al massimo tre volte con intervallo minimo di un mese tra due prove successive" - a maximum of three attempts, minimum one month apart; and "qualora lo studente dosse sostenere con esito negativo il test in una delle date su riportate, non potra partecipare alla prova nella data immediatamente successiva" - after a failure you must skip the very next scheduled date. SITTINGS SCHEDULED UP TO DECEMBER 2026 (published on the departmental orientation page): 20 January 2026; 24 February 2026; 7 April 2026; 22 June 2026; 21 July 2026; 13 OCTOBER 2026; 10 NOVEMBER 2026; 22 DECEMBER 2026. The last three are still ahead as of 30 August 2026. BOOKING: a Microsoft Forms booking link published on the same page - https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=auLPL2K7sEax4yj52gxF_SXeNKE0iP1Iolr3mbJyvztUMDZRWDFIQVRHSzVMQVdQVEJWUUdHMVAxQy4u . The page also warns "Seguiranno ulteriori comunicazioni circa le modalita e lo svolgimento della prova" - further communications about the format and conduct of the test will follow. EXAMINING COMMITTEE: President Prof. Luca Esposito; commissioners Ing. Luca Boccarusso and Ing. Luca Viscito. SELF-ASSESSMENT IS RECOMMENDED FOR EVERYONE: the programme advises all incoming students, whatever their bachelor average, to take the self-assessment test anyway, "soprattutto con riferimento ai quesiti inerenti alla Fisica Tecnica e alle Macchine, che costituiscono le aree di apprendimento caratterizzanti" - especially the Applied Thermodynamics and Machines questions, the programme's characterising learning areas. Students may also sit it BEFORE graduating, purely to gauge their preparation. Applicants are additionally told to read the course descriptions (Schede degli Insegnamenti) with their syllabi and prerequisites at https://www.corsi.unina.it/D20/docenti/2025. THERE IS ALSO A LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY TEST - see language_requirements. It is part of the same compulsory "verification of personal preparation" and applies only to those without a degree taught in Italian or English and without a B1 certificate in either language. NO TOLC, NO GRE/GMAT, NO PORTFOLIO, NO INTERVIEW is required or mentioned anywhere for this degree. THE TEST'S APPLICABILITY TO FOREIGN-DEGREE APPLICANTS IS UNRESOLVED. The rule is written around a CFU-weighted Italian 30-point average, which cannot be computed directly from most foreign transcripts. Nothing published states whether the CCD converts foreign grades, deems the average unavailable and therefore requires the test, or waives it. Nor is it stated whether the test can be sat remotely from abroad - the booking form and the phrase "somministrato da una apposita commissione" suggest a supervised sitting, and the sittings are on fixed dates, most of which fall AFTER the 15 June Universitaly pre-enrolment deadline. An applicant below 24/30 should raise this explicitly with Prof. Bozza and Prof. Esposito before pre-enrolling.

  • NO PROGRAMME-SPECIFIC DOCUMENT LIST IS PUBLISHED FOR THIS DEGREE. What follows is the University-wide list from international.unina.it plus the programme-specific evidence implied by the curricular requirements. SET 1 - FOR THE EVALUATION OF A FOREIGN QUALIFICATION (sent to the Coordinator; identical list given for EU candidates and for non-EU candidates resident in Italy/EU), verbatim: "eventual translations; legalisations; Diploma Supplement; certificates of examinations; certificates from the Italian ENIC NARIC centre (CIMEA) https://www.cimea.it/EN/; any declarations of value issued by the competent diplomatic representations". Send these to Prof. Fabio Bozza (fabio.bozza@unina.it) and/or the named foreign-enrolment contacts Prof. Francesco Pelella (francesco.pelella@unina.it) and Prof.ssa Enrica Malfi (enrica.malfi@unina.it). SET 2 - FOR ENROLMENT (matriculation), verbatim from international.unina.it "Documents required for enrolment": "Copy of passport; Application form; 1 passport photo; Tax code [codice fiscale]; Residence permit (proof of having applied for it); Declaration of value issued by the Italian Embassy in the country where the degree was obtained or certificate of validity issued by ENIC-NARIC centres." The page adds: "Important: always check the instructions on the degree programme's website." The secretariat (segreing@unina.it) issues the fee payment form and the enrolment form. SET 3 - FOR THE VISA (non-EU residing abroad): the validated Universitaly pre-enrolment summary; language competence certificates; health insurance; proof of means of subsistence (EUR 10,179.85/year); proof of accommodation; return-ticket or repatriation funds; the foreign qualification documents. SET 4 - WHAT THE ADMISSION RULES ACTUALLY REQUIRE YOU TO PROVE, even though no form asks for it explicitly: (a) that your bachelor is in the Italian industrial-engineering class L-9 or equivalent, OR a transcript showing at least 90 CFU/ECTS mapped to the listed SSD blocks (>=40 in maths/physics/chemistry/informatics, >=50 in the engineering sectors, of which >=18 in fluid machinery, energy systems and industrial applied thermodynamics); (b) the CFU-weighted average of your bachelor examinations, to establish whether M >= 24/30 (this is what decides whether you sit the admission test); (c) either a degree taught in Italian or English, or a B1+ Italian/English certificate, to clear the language gate. Because the 18-CFU core is judged "sulla base dei contenuti di specifici insegnamenti" (on the content of specific courses), SYLLABI / COURSE DESCRIPTIONS for your thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid machinery and energy-systems courses are in practice essential even though no list names them. USEFUL EXTRAS, not formally required: a B2+ English certificate (IELTS/TOEFL/Cambridge - explicitly "useful for the issue of the visa", and recognised as the 3 graduation CFU); a CV; and, if you intend to take the Minor in Green Technologies, nothing extra at admission (the Minor is chosen later, via the study plan). SIGNIFICANT GAPS. There is no downloadable application form for foreign-qualification holders on the programme site; no stated rule on whether a CIMEA Statement of Comparability is accepted in place of a Declaration of Value (the University lists both as alternatives, but consulates differ); no stated translation/legalisation standard (sworn translation? apostille?); no stated deadline for submitting documents to the Coordinator; and no confirmation of whether digital copies suffice for the initial evaluation. Confirm the exact package by e-mail with segreing@unina.it and the Coordinator before travelling.

  • 1. THE BRIEF'S PROGRAMME NAME IS WRONG AND THIS MATTERS OPERATIONALLY. The research brief describes an English curriculum called "Mechanical Engineering for Energy and the Environment". No such curriculum exists. "Mechanical Engineering for Energy and the Environment" is the English rendering of the whole Italian degree "Ingegneria Meccanica per l'Energia e l'Ambiente" (LM-33), which is bilingual (ENG/ITA). The English-taught curriculum inside it is "SUSTAINABLE ENERGY" (Italian: "Energia Sostenibile"), acronym SE. Any listing, e-mail or application should name the Sustainable Energy curriculum explicitly. 2. THE DIPLOMA CARRIES THE ITALIAN DEGREE NAME ONLY. The qualification awarded is "Laurea Magistrale in Ingegneria Meccanica per l'Energia e l'Ambiente", class LM-33. The curriculum (Sustainable Energy) is a study-plan choice, not part of the degree title, and does not appear in the legal name of the qualification. This is exactly the case the research brief anticipated. 3. THREE OF THE FOUR CURRICULA HAVE ENGLISH-LOOKING NAMES BUT ARE TAUGHT IN ITALIAN. "Innovative Energy Systems", "Advanced Energy Management" and "Propulsion Systems" are English translations of Sistemi Energetici Innovativi, Gestione Avanzata dell'Energia and Sistemi Propulsivi, all Italian-taught. The English-language departmental page https://meccanica.dii.unina.it/en/info-lmea-en lists all five paths with English names and gives no language marker, which is actively misleading. Only the Didactic Regulations' "CURRICULA AND LANGUAGES" table and the orientation portal's "study plan in detail" section state the languages correctly. 4. THE CURRICULUM IS CHOSEN AFTER ENROLMENT, NOT AT ADMISSION. There is no separate application, seat allocation or admission route for the English path. A student enrols in LM-IMEA and then declares SE when submitting the Study Plan, normally by 31 October. Nothing published guarantees the SE path runs in a given year or states a minimum cohort. 5. NO ENGLISH CERTIFICATE IS REQUIRED TO BE ADMITTED TO AN ALL-ENGLISH CURRICULUM. The entry language gate is B1 in ITALIAN **OR** ENGLISH, and is waived entirely for anyone whose bachelor was taught in Italian or English. B2 English is a GRADUATION requirement (3 CFU), not an entry one. This is a genuine rule, quoted verbatim, but it is so unusual that applicants should verify current practice with Prof. Alfonso William Mauro before relying on it. The format, dates and location of the fallback "test di idoneita" language test are not published anywhere. 6. FOREIGN-DEGREE MAPPING IS THE BIGGEST PRACTICAL UNKNOWN. The curricular requirement is written in Italian SSD codes (>=90 CFU, with >=40 in maths/physics/chemistry/informatics, >=50 in engineering sectors, of which >=18 in IIND-06/A + IIND-06/B + IIND-07/A). No unina.it page explains how foreign ECTS are mapped to those codes, whether a 180-ECTS three-year bachelor is required, what syllabus evidence is accepted, how long evaluation takes, or whether a written eligibility decision is issued. The only channel is direct e-mail to the Coordinator (fabio.bozza@unina.it) or the two named foreign-enrolment contacts (francesco.pelella@unina.it, enrica.malfi@unina.it). 7. THE 24/30 AVERAGE RULE CANNOT BE APPLIED MECHANICALLY TO A FOREIGN TRANSCRIPT. The rule assumes a CFU-weighted Italian 30-point average. Nothing states whether the CCD converts foreign grades, treats the average as unavailable and therefore requires the 35-question admission test, or waives the test. It is also not stated whether the test can be sat remotely from abroad. Most remaining 2026 sittings (13 October, 10 November, 22 December 2026) fall after both the 15 June Universitaly deadline and, for two of them, the 30 November visa deadline - a sequencing problem the University does not address. 8. THE NON-EU DEADLINE FOR THE CURRENT CYCLE HAS PASSED. 15 June 2026 was the Universitaly pre-enrolment deadline for a.y. 2026/2027, and because the course is open access it did not reopen ("After this date pre-enrolment is allowed to the programmes with restricted access only"). As of 30 August 2026 a non-EU applicant residing abroad is targeting a.y. 2027/2028, whose deadline was not yet published. There is also no published service standard for how quickly Federico II validates a Universitaly pre-enrolment - and without validation the Embassy will not issue the visa. 9. TWO DIFFERENT ENROLMENT END DATES ARE PUBLISHED. The binding "Guida all'iscrizione 2026-27" gives 2 November 2026 as the ordinary matriculation deadline; the orientation portal's own 2026/2027 notice (14 July 2026) gives 31 October 2026; the programme page gives a year-generic "1 September to 31 October". 31 October 2026 is a Saturday, 2 November the following Monday. Treat 31 October 2026 as the safe date. 10. TWO DIFFERENT REGIONAL-TAX FIGURES. international.unina.it publishes a flat EUR 140/year regional tax; the binding 2026/27 Guida publishes bands of EUR 130 / 151 / 173 under D.M. n. 176 of 24 February 2026, with EUR 151 explicitly assigned to students whose household resides abroad. Use the Guida. The tuition components (EUR 200 for EU citizens, total exemption for non-EU citizens) agree across sources. 11. THE COORDINATOR'S NAME IS INCONSISTENT ACROSS UNINA.IT. The orientation portal (updated to a.y. 2026/2027) and the departmental "Referenti e Commissioni" page both give Prof. FABIO BOZZA (fabio.bozza@unina.it, 081 7683274). The central unina.it course record still names Prof. ADOLFO SENATORE. The departmental English brochure (updated May 2020) names NICOLA BIANCO. Use Fabio Bozza; the other two are stale. 12. THE FULL DIDACTIC REGULATIONS ARE ONE YEAR BEHIND. The published regulations are headed "in vigore a partire dall'a.a. 2025-2026"; only Annex 1 (the study plan) exists in a 2026-2027 version. The Sustainable Energy course tables are identical between the two, and the admission articles are reproduced verbatim on the departmental pages with the current 2026 test calendar, so they are almost certainly still in force - but re-check when the 2026-2027 regulations are posted. 13. THE OFFICIAL ENGLISH NAME OF THE DEGREE VARIES ACROSS UNINA PAGES: "Mechanical Engineering for Energy and the Environment" (orientation portal, international catalogue), "Mechanical Engineering for Energy and Environment" (Didactic Regulations Art. 1, departmental site), and "MECHANICAL ENGINEERING FOR THE ENERGY AND THE ENVIRONMENT" (Annex 1 cover, 2026/2027). Same degree; expect all three spellings in correspondence. 14. THE DEPARTMENTAL BROCHURE IS OBSOLETE AND SHOULD NOT BE USED. https://www.dii.unina.it/source/brochures-cds/magistrale/MSc_MECHANICAL_ENGINEERING_E_E.pdf is stamped "updated to May 2020", describes THREE curricula (not four), names a different coordinator, gives a 15-CFU thesis and a different course list, and none of it matches the current regulations. It is still linked from search results and third-party aggregators. 15. NO SEAT NUMBERS OF ANY KIND ARE PUBLISHED - not a total cap, not a non-EU quota, not a cohort size, not an SE-path enrolment figure. The absence of a cap is inferred from the course's absence from the 2026/2027 numero-programmato index and from the "Verifica di preparazione" admission label, not from an explicit statement. Federico II does file per-course non-EU availability with Universitaly each year, and that filing could not be verified from unina.it (the University's own UniversItaly information sheet is a scanned image with no extractable text). 16. NO PROGRAMME-SPECIFIC INTERNATIONAL ADMISSION PAGE, FORM OR CALENDAR EXISTS. Unlike several other Federico II master's degrees, this one publishes no English admission sheet for foreign applicants, no application form, no document checklist of its own, no evaluation timetable and no offer-letter process. Everything international runs through generic University channels plus direct e-mail. 17. WHICH CAMPUS BUILDING HOSTS SE LECTURES IS NOT PUBLISHED - only that the degree uses Via Claudio 21 and Piazzale Tecchio 80 (Fuorigrotta). Only the live EasyAcademy timetable resolves this, shortly before each semester. 18. TECHNICAL NOTE FOR ANYONE RE-VERIFYING THIS RECORD: www.orientamento.unina.it currently serves an incomplete TLS certificate chain and is rejected by strict automated fetchers ("unable to verify the first certificate"); the pages load normally in a browser. All data in this record was taken from unina.it, orientamento.unina.it, international.unina.it, meccanica.dii.unina.it, dii.unina.it and corsi.unina.it only, per the brief. Research date: 30 August 2026; academic year of reference: 2026/2027.
