NAPLES - COMPLESSO UNIVERSITARIO DI MONTE SANT'ANGELO, via Cinthia 21, 80126 Naples (the address is spelled both 'Cinthia' and 'Cintia' on official pages; the university complex sits in the Fuorigrotta/Soccavo hill area west of the city centre). This is NOT the historic Corso Umberto I centre and NOT the medical campus at Cappella dei Cangiani. ALL TEACHING AND ALL LABORATORY WORK ARE ON THIS ONE SITE: 'The MSc lessons are hold at the Complesso Universitario di Monte S. Angelo. Lab activities are also in this area', and the Italian programme page confirms 'Il Corso di Laurea magistrale ha sede nel Complesso Universitario di Monte S. Angelo, dove si svolge l'attivita didattica frontale di tutti gli insegnamenti e le relative esercitazioni di laboratorio.' The unina.it and Dipartimento di Scienze Chimiche course sheets give the seat as 'c/o Dipartimento di Scienze Chimiche - Complesso Universitario di Monte S. Angelo, Via Cinthia 21 - 80126 Napoli, Italy'. Lecture halls used include 'Aulario A (aule A5 e A6) del Complesso Universitario di Monte S. Angelo'. THE THREE CONTRIBUTING DEPARTMENTS ARE NOT ALL ON SITE, which matters for supervisors, internships and thesis work rather than for lectures: Department of Chemical Sciences - Monte Sant'Angelo, Via Cintia 21, 80126 Naples; Department of Biology - Monte Sant'Angelo, Via Cintia 21, 80126 Naples; Department of Chemical Engineering, Materials and Industrial Production (DICMaPI) - 'Ex College of Engineering, P.zzle Tecchio 80, 80125 Naples' (the Fuorigrotta engineering pole, a different site about 2 km away). Several BiRRe courses are held by ING-IND staff (Transport Phenomena, Biorefinery processes, Bioreactors, Process simulation), so applicants should expect some supervisors to be based at Piazzale Tecchio even though the lectures themselves are at Monte Sant'Angelo. STUDENT ADMINISTRATION OFFICE: Segreteria Studenti Area didattica Scienze MM.FF.NN., Complesso Universitario di Monte Sant'Angelo, Via Cinthia 21, 80126 Napoli; open Monday to Friday 09:00-12:00 and also Tuesday and Thursday 14:30-16:30; tel. 081 2531111 / 0812537508 / 081676550; segrmmff@unina.it. PRE-ASSESSMENT (prevalutazione) APPLICATIONS ARE DELIVERED TO A DIFFERENT DESK ON THE SAME CAMPUS: the access regulation directs candidates to 'l'Area Didattica di Scienze (sita nell'area Centri Comuni del Complesso di Monte Sant'Angelo) della Scuola Politecnica e delle Scienze di Base'. Programme orientation desk: +39 331 43 18 758, infobiotecnologieindustriali@unina.it. TIMETABLE: two teaching periods, September/end of September to December (before the Christmas break) and March to the beginning of June; exam sessions January-February, June, July and September, with make-up sessions in March and October. The detailed, continuously updated timetable and exam calendar are published on the programme site's Laurea Magistrale page.

OPEN ACCESS SUBJECT TO A MANDATORY VERIFICATION OF PREPARATION - not free-for-all, and not a competitive selection either. Both orientamento profiles print the structured field as 'Accesso Verifica di preparazione' / 'Admission Verifica di preparazione'. There is no numero programmato, no ranking, no bando, no admission test and no application fee for this master's. What there IS, and what applicants routinely underestimate, is a formal file review by a named commission, with a discretionary interview attached. THE MECHANISM, from Art. 5 of the 2025-2026 Didactic Regulations: 'Verification of personal preparation is always mandatory, and only students who meet the curricular requirements can access it. The verification of previous knowledge and personal preparation is entrusted by the CCD to the "Access Commission to the Master's Degree" (CALM) - appointed by the CCD - which evaluates the student's career through possible individual interviews. If the CALM considers the level of knowledge and skills of the graduate sufficient, it expresses a judgment of suitability, which allows the matriculation to the Master of Science in Molecular and Industrial Biotechnology. If the Graduate's preparation is assessed as unfit, the CALM identifies the knowledge that the student must acquire BEFORE matriculation.' Note the sequencing: remedial credits, where imposed, must be earned BEFORE enrolling, not during the first year - there is no OFA-style catch-up window at master's level. THE CALM meets 'almeno mensilmente ad eccezione del mese di aprile e agosto' (at least monthly except April and August), is appointed afresh each academic year by the Didactic Coordination Commission, and is fed by a written 'domanda di prevalutazione' (pre-assessment application). AUTOMATIC ADMISSION EXISTS FOR A CLOSED LIST OF FEEDER DEGREES. Table 1 of the access regulation names them: Biotecnologie Biomolecolari e Industriali (curr. Molecolare e Industriale) and Biotecnologie Biomolecolari e Industriali under D.M. 270/04; Biotecnologie per i Prodotti ed i Processi under D.M. 509/99; Biotecnologie (ind. Industriale) under L. 341/90 - all Federico II qualifications. For these, 'La Segreteria Studenti provvede ad immatricolare i Laureati che si trovano nelle condizioni di cui alla tabella 1 senza ulteriori pareri delle CALM' (the Student Office enrols them without any further CALM opinion). The Regulations add that the CCD 'periodically identifies Degree Programmes characterized by educational offer that meets the required entry requirements', whose graduates 'will be able to access the LM without further verification' - so the list can be extended, but the only published version is the 2016 Table 1. EVERY OTHER CANDIDATE, INCLUDING EVERY HOLDER OF A FOREIGN DEGREE, goes through the CALM route. CHANNEL BY PROFILE: holders of an Italian qualification enrol online through Segrepass once the CALM has cleared them; EU candidates and non-EU candidates lawfully resident in Italy or the EU send their academic documents to the course Coordinator for the qualification assessment; non-EU candidates resident abroad must first pre-enrol on Universitaly and obtain a study visa. THE PROGRAMME PUBLISHES NO DEDICATED ADMISSIONS EMAIL for international applicants (unlike, for example, Federico II's Medical Biotechnology, which routes everything through a single address); the operative contacts are the Coordinator Prof.ssa Daria Maria Monti (dariamaria.monti@unina.it), the teaching secretariat Dott.ssa Roberta Ruocco (roberta.ruocco@unina.it), the Student Office contact Dott. Giuseppe Rollino (giuseppe.rollino@unina.it), with ccd.biotecnologieindustriali@unina.it in copy, and the orientation desk infobiotecnologieindustriali@unina.it.

Resmî Eğitim Dili

MIXED ENGLISH AND ITALIAN - THIS IS NOT A FULLY ENGLISH-TAUGHT TRACK, AND THAT IS THE DECISIVE FACT FOR AN INTERNATIONAL APPLICANT. The parent degree is registered as bilingual: the ordinamento/RAD records 'Lingua in cui si tiene il corso: italiano, inglese', both orientamento profiles print the structured field as 'Lingua ITA/ENG' / 'Language ENG/ITA', and the university's own International course catalogue lists the programme as 'Biotecnologie Molecolari e Industriali / Molecular and Industrial Biotechnology - IT/ENG' (contrast the many Federico II programmes listed there as '- ENG'). WHICH CURRICULUM IS IN WHICH LANGUAGE: ProBio is entirely Italian - 'The lessons of the ProBio curriculum are provided in Italian language'. BiRRe is the English-facing one, but only partly: 'The lessons of the BiRRe curriculum are in English and Italian languages'. THE EXACT SPLIT, RECONSTRUCTED FROM THE OFFICIAL COURSE SHEETS (Annex 2 of the 2025-2026 Didactic Regulations, which state a 'Teaching Language' for every single course, cross-checked against the a.a. 2026/2027 study plan PDF): ENGLISH-TAUGHT COMPULSORY COURSES (6 courses, 57 CFU) - Microalgal exploitation 12 CFU (modules Genetic engineering 6 + Microalgal resources 6), Transport Phenomena for Biotechnological Applications 9 CFU, Biopolymers and Bioplastics 12 CFU (Polyester based bioplastics 6 + Polysaccharide- and protein-based bioplastics 6), Biorefinery processes 6 CFU, Design of conversion processes 12 CFU (Bioreactors 6 + Process simulation 6), Environmental economics 6 CFU. ITALIAN-TAUGHT COMPULSORY COURSES (4 courses, 30 CFU) - Biotecnologie microbiche industriali / Industrial microbial biotechnology 6 CFU, Biotecnologie industriali e per la salvaguardia dell'ambiente / Industrial and environmental biotechnology 12 CFU, Principi di igiene nelle biotecnologie / Hygiene principles in biotechnology 6 CFU, Biochip e biosensori / Biochip and biosensors 6 CFU. Those 87 CFU of taught courses plus 12 CFU of free-choice activities, 18 CFU of internship and 3 CFU of final test give the 120 CFU total. So roughly 66% of the taught credits are in English and 34% - a full quarter of the whole degree - are in ITALIAN, and the Italian ones are MANDATORY, with no English substitute offered. THE PUBLISHED CFU SPLIT IS INCONSISTENT ACROSS OFFICIAL PAGES: the orientamento profiles say 'Lectures for 48 CFU are hold in English language. 30 CFU lectures are hold in Italian language'; the programme website says '6 courses - for a total of 60 CFU spread over a period of one year - are provided in English language and 4 courses - for a total of 30 CFU spread over a period of one year - are provided in Italian language'; the actual course sheets and study plan add up to 57 CFU English + 30 CFU Italian. All three sources agree on the 30 CFU of Italian teaching and on there being 6 English courses and 4 Italian ones; only the English total (48 vs 57 vs 60) differs. FURTHER ITALIAN-LANGUAGE EXPOSURE INSIDE THE TRACK: (a) the free-choice block - the only two electives the Didactic Commission proposes are 'Bio soft matter: fluidi microstrutturati nelle biotecnologie' (6 CFU) and 'Ingegneria dei tessuti' (6 CFU), both Italian-titled; the regulations do allow a student to choose any course in the University consistent with the training project, subject to Didactic Coordination Commission approval, so an English elective is theoretically reachable but not offered by default. (b) The 18 CFU internship module - its Annex 2 course sheet reads 'Course: Internship and Guidance to the World of Work / Teaching Language: Italian'. (c) The final exam - the regulations say the written thesis 'may also be drawn up in English. In this case, an extract in the Italian language shall be attached to it', the orientamento profile says students are 'encouraged to write the thesis in English' and that 'In the case of a thesis written in English, it is mandatory to insert a summary of two pages written in Italian', and the regulations add that 'The presentation is usually in Italian' even though the slides are 'usually in English'. The Italian programme page goes further and describes the final dissertation as simply 'redatto in lingua inglese' (written in English) - a conflict noted below. WHY THE ENGLISH HALF EXISTS: the RAD explains that 'Gli insegnamenti curriculari dedicati alla formazione nel settore delle biotecnologie industriali emergenti saranno tenuti in lingua Inglese' - the courses covering EMERGING industrial biotechnology are the ones taught in English, which is exactly the BiRRe subject matter. A PRACTICAL TRAP: the official ENGLISH-language study plan PDF for a.a. 2026/2027 translates every course title into English and does NOT mark which ones are actually taught in Italian; only the Italian PDF, the Italian orientamento profile (which keeps the Italian titles Italian) and the programme website table (which flags them '(IT)') reveal the split. CURRICULUM CHOICE IS MADE AT ENROLMENT: 'Students must submit a Study Plan (PdS) at the enrolment to select the curriculum.'

THREE DIFFERENT WINDOWS ARE PUBLISHED BY THREE OFFICIAL SOURCES AND THEY DO NOT AGREE. This is the weakest-documented area of the whole file. (1) UNIVERSITY-WIDE ENROLMENT NOTICE, a.a. 2026/2027 - 16 JULY 2026 TO 2 NOVEMBER 2026, online through Segrepass (www.segrepass.unina.it). This is the notice that actually governs matriculation and it expressly covers master's degrees. Normalised ISO: 16 Temmuz 2026 to 2 Kasım 2026. It also states that enrolment for years after the first opens on 1 September, and that foreign students must contact the student offices by email rather than self-enrol online. (2) ENGLISH ORIENTAMENTO PROFILE - 'Initial enrolment is presented from July, while successive enrolment is from September 1st. Foreign students must register on Universitaly site. The initial enrolment is possible until March 31.' That end date (31 March) is nearly five months later than the university notice. (3) ITALIAN ORIENTAMENTO PROFILE - 'L'immatricolazione e l'iscrizione agli anni successivi hanno luogo, di norma, dal 1 settembre al 31 ottobre di ogni anno' (1 September to 31 October). Three sources, three windows: 16 July - 2 November, July - 31 March, and 1 September - 31 October. The two orientamento statements also contradict each other. FOLLOW THE UNIVERSITY NOTICE (16 July - 2 November 2026) for matriculation and confirm with the Segreteria Studenti (segrmmff@unina.it) before planning travel. (4) THE STEP THAT ACTUALLY BINDS AN INTERNATIONAL EU CANDIDATE HAS NO PUBLISHED DEADLINE AT ALL. Before enrolling, a holder of a foreign degree must obtain the CALM's judgment of suitability. international.unina.it tells EU candidates to 'send your academic documents to the Coordinator of the course you wish to enrol in to find out whether you meet the enrolment requirements'; for this programme that is Prof.ssa Daria Maria Monti (dariamaria.monti@unina.it), with the teaching secretariat and ccd.biotecnologieindustriali@unina.it in copy. Neither the University nor the programme publishes a cut-off for this step or a calendar of CALM sittings. Since the CALM meets at least monthly except in April and August, and since remedial credits (if imposed) must be acquired BEFORE matriculation, the dossier should be opened by spring at the latest. (5) A SEPARATE, HARD, PROGRAMME-LEVEL DEADLINE THAT APPLICANTS MISS: the Study Plan choosing the free-choice courses is due by 15 OCTOBER, with a correction window for the second semester between 15 FEBRUARY and 15 MARCH ('Il Piano di Studio per la scelta degli insegnamenti a scelta autonoma e presentato entro il 15 ottobre (possibilita di rettifica per il II semestre con presentazione nella finestra 15 febbraio - 15 marzo)'). The Study Plan choosing the CURRICULUM (i.e. choosing BiRRe rather than ProBio) is submitted at enrolment. (6) SECOND-SEMESTER ENTRY is not provided for in any source; treat as unavailable.

FOR NON-EU CANDIDATES RESIDING ABROAD (visa-requiring) the binding dates are set centrally by international.unina.it, not by the programme. (1) 15 JUNE 2026 - UNIVERSITALY PRE-ENROLMENT DEADLINE. Verbatim: 'JUNE - 15 - 2026 - Pre-enrolment application deadline to University of Naples Federico II. After this date no programme changes are permitted. After this date pre-enrolment is allowed to the programmes with restricted access only.' Normalised ISO: 15 Haziran 2026. THIS IS THE OPERATIVE HARD DATE AND IT IS PARTICULARLY UNFORGIVING FOR THIS COURSE: the concession permitting late pre-enrolment after 15 June is reserved to 'programmes with restricted access', and this master's is open access with verification, so a non-EU applicant who misses 15 June appears to lose the academic year entirely - notwithstanding that general enrolment stays open until 2 November 2026. (2) 30 NOVEMBER 2026 - VISA APPLICATION DEADLINE at Italian Embassies/Consulates. Verbatim: 'NOVEMBER - 30 - 2026- Deadline for submitting the Visa Application at Iyalian Embassies /Consulates.' ('Iyalian' is a typographical error for 'Italian' in the original.) Normalised ISO: 30 Kasım 2026. (3) PROCESS ORDER: pre-enrolment on Universitaly (www.universitaly.it/studenti-stranieri), naming the University of Naples Federico II, this degree programme and the chosen Embassy/Consulate; validation by the University; issue of a type 'D' study visa ('studio - immatricolazione universita'); then matriculation. international.unina.it warns that 'pre-enrolment alone does not grant admission to degree programmes. In order to matriculate you also need to take and pass the verifications of the entry requirements and the admission procedures set for the degree programme of your interest' - which for this course means the CALM assessment and, possibly, an interview. It also states flatly: 'Important! The University of Naples Federico II does not issue admission letters for obtaining a visa.' (4) A CONDITIONAL VISA IS POSSIBLE: candidates confirmed 'with reservations' - because they do not yet hold the qualification, or are awaiting an admission or language assessment - are still issued a type 'D' study visa so they can sit the checks in Italy without returning home. Given that this programme's CALM has no published calendar, this provision is likely to matter here. (5) NON-EU CANDIDATES WHO DO NOT NEED A VISA (lawfully resident in Italy or an EU country) are treated as EU candidates: they skip Universitaly and 'may present your academic documents directly to the Coordinator of the Course in which you wish to enrol'. (6) IF ITALIAN B2 IS HELD TO APPLY TO THIS IT/ENG DEGREE (see language_requirements), the certificate must be uploaded to Universitaly AT THE TIME OF PRE-ENROLMENT, i.e. by 15 June 2026, or an Italian proficiency test must be sat under arrangements 'communicated by e-mail by the coordinator of the chosen course'. Clarify this months in advance - it cannot be fixed after the pre-enrolment deadline. (7) THE PROGRAMME PUBLISHES NO DEPARTMENTAL DEADLINE of its own and no dedicated international-admissions email address; the CALM route is rolling and undated.

  • Seats (total): NO SEAT CAP IS PUBLISHED FOR THIS MASTER'S AND NONE APPEARS TO EXIST. The access classification on both orientamento profiles is 'Verifica di preparazione', not 'Numero Programmato'; there is no bando, no ranking and no published number of places. No figure appears in the ordinamento/RAD (which carries no 'utenza sostenibile' entry in the retrievable text), in the 2025-2026 Didactic Regulations, in the unina.it or Dipartimento di Scienze Chimiche course sheets, in the access regulation, in the a.a. 2026/2027 study plan or on the programme website. The absence is inferred from the access classification plus the silence of every source consulted, not from an explicit statement that the course is uncapped. BEWARE A NEAR-CERTAIN CONFUSION: Federico II's THREE-YEAR bachelor in 'Biotecnologie Molecolari e Industriali' (class L-2), which shares this master's name, website, department and campus, IS capped - its orientamento profile states 'Accesso Numero Programmato Locale' and 'Il Corso di Laurea in Biotecnologie Molecolari e Industriali (classe delle Biotecnologie L-2) e a numero programmato (max 150 iscritti)'. That figure of 150 belongs to the bachelor, is selected on the school-leaving examination grade, and has nothing to do with admission to this master's. Search results conflating the two are wrong. | Seats (non-EU reserved): NO RESERVED NON-EU QUOTA (contingente riservato) IS PUBLISHED for this programme on any unina.it source consulted. Reserved-place quotas at Federico II are published in the bandi of numero programmato courses; because this master's is open access with verification of preparation, no such call exists and therefore no such quota was found in the ordinamento/RAD, the Didactic Regulations, the access regulation, the course sheets or either orientamento profile. international.unina.it sets procedural deadlines for non-EU candidates but states no numeric quota for this or any individual course. Applicants should assume no fixed non-EU quota for this course and verify the annual MUR contingente for the University of Naples Federico II on Universitaly before pre-enrolling. BECAUSE THE APPLICANT-FACING PAGE AND THE GOVERNING DOCUMENTS PRINT DIFFERENT NUMBERS. Take the lower, current set - see point 3. 1) A FIRST-CYCLE DEGREE (laurea triennale or equivalent). The access regulation phrases it as 'il possesso di una laurea di cui alla tabella allegata al D.M. 270/04 o acquisita nel rispetto dei pre-esistenti ordinamenti, ovvero laurea triennale (ex D.M. 509/99) o laurea quinquennale (L. 341/90)'. Foreign first-cycle degrees are admissible subject to the qualification-recognition route described in required_documents. 2) SUFFICIENT KNOWLEDGE IN FOUR SUBJECT BLOCKS, stated identically in the RAD, the unina.it course sheet, the Didactic Regulations and both orientamento profiles: (a) mathematical, chemical and physical disciplines
  • (b) biological disciplines (biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics)
  • (c) disciplines of the fermentation sector (microbiology and fermentation chemistry)
Dil yeterliliği

ENGLISH B2 (CEFR) IS THE ONLY LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT THE PROGRAMME ITSELF IMPOSES - BUT SEE THE ITALIAN QUESTION BELOW, WHICH IS THE REAL RISK FOR A NON-EU APPLICANT. ENGLISH: the requirement is stated identically in the RAD, the unina.it and department course sheets, Art. 4 of the Didactic Regulations and both orientamento profiles: 'Inglese - documentata competenza di utilizzare correttamente la lingua Inglese (in forma scritta e orale) equiparabile al livello B2' / 'English - documented competence to use English correctly (in written and oral form) comparable to level B2.' TWO ROUTES TO SATISFY IT, per the programme's own English language skills page: (a) hold a B2 certificate or higher recognised by the CLA - 'Students who hold B2 certificates (or higher) - recognized by the CLA - are exempt from tuition. Students must send the certificate to Dr. Loredana Cavaliere of the CLA for career recognition' ('exempt from tuition' here means exempt from taking the CLA's English teaching, not from paying fees); or (b) pass the CLA Placement Test, 'typically scheduled at the beginning of each year (from January)'. The University also runs CLA courses 'aimed at acquiring skills in the correct use of the English language (in written and oral form) comparable to level B2'. THE DEADLINE IS A MID-COURSE ONE, NOT AN ENTRY ONE: 'The English language knowledge requirements must be acquired before sitting the exams of the courses scheduled for the second year.' In other words a student can matriculate without the certificate but is blocked from all second-year examinations until the requirement is met - a harder practical constraint than it first appears, because in BiRRe the second year carries Design of conversion processes, Environmental economics, the internship and the thesis. NO NAMED CERTIFICATES, SCORE THRESHOLDS OR VALIDITY PERIODS ARE PUBLISHED by the programme (no IELTS/TOEFL band table), and recognition is delegated to the CLA case by case. ITALIAN - AND MATERIALLY UNRESOLVED. The programme sets no Italian requirement of any kind. But the University's rule for non-EU applicants turns on how the DEGREE is classified, and this degree is classified IT/ENG, not ENG. international.unina.it says: '1. If you choose a three-year degree course, magistral degree course or single-cycle magistral degree course in ITALIAN, a B2 level Italian language proficiency is required', to be proved by a CLIQ-system certificate uploaded to Universitaly or by an Italian proficiency test whose 'Procedures and timing will be communicated by e-mail by the coordinator of the chosen course'; and '2. If you choose a three-year, five-year or single-cycle degree course in ENGLISH, level B2 Italian language proficiency is not required.' Clause 2 does not mention two-year magistral courses at all (the same drafting gap affects every English-taught LM at Federico II), and clause 1 explicitly does mention them. On top of that, the University's own International course catalogue lists this programme as 'IT/ENG', and 30 CFU of the BiRRe curriculum plus the internship module really are delivered in Italian. A literal reading therefore points towards ITALIAN B2 BEING REQUIRED for a non-EU applicant to this course, and a purposive reading (the track is advertised in English) points the other way. NO unina.it PAGE RESOLVES IT. This must be settled in writing with the Coordinator and the International Welcome Desk BEFORE the 15 June 2026 Universitaly deadline, because the Italian certificate has to be uploaded with the pre-enrolment application, not afterwards. Practical note: international.unina.it separately advises that an English certificate (IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge) is 'useful for the issue of the visa by the diplomatic/consular Representation', so hold one regardless. Practical note 2, independent of the formal rule: BiRRe cannot be completed without functional Italian, since four compulsory courses (30 CFU), both proposed electives and the internship module are Italian-taught and the final presentation 'is usually in Italian'.

Sınav / değerlendirme

NO COMPETITIVE ENTRANCE EXAMINATION, NO TOLC, NO GRE/GMAT, NO PORTFOLIO, NO RANKING. Three assessment mechanisms exist instead, and their operational detail is thinly published. (1) THE CALM FILE REVIEW - always mandatory, a desk assessment of the university career against the curricular thresholds, carried out by the 'Commissione Ammissione Laurea Magistrale' (Access Commission to the Master's Degree) appointed annually by the Didactic Coordination Commission. It normally meets at least monthly except in April and August. (2) AN INDIVIDUAL INTERVIEW (colloquio) - DISCRETIONARY, NOT AUTOMATIC, WHICH IS THE KEY DIFFERENCE FROM SOME OTHER FEDERICO II MASTER'S PROGRAMMES. The RAD wording is 'esame della carriera universitaria del laureato E/O colloquio' (examination of the career AND/OR interview); the access regulation says the CALM 'valuta la carriera dello studente anche attraverso EVENTUALI colloqui individuali' (through POSSIBLE individual interviews); Art. 6 adds that the preparation of candidates outside the automatic-admission table 'sara valutata dalla CALM competente in prima istanza sulla base della documentazione presentata e, SE LO RITERRA NECESSARIO, sulla base di un colloquio individuale' (and, IF IT DEEMS IT NECESSARY, on the basis of an individual interview). So an interview is a possibility triggered by the file, not a fixed step. The Didactic Regulations echo this: the CALM 'evaluates the student's career through possible individual interviews'. NOTHING IS PUBLISHED about the interview's format, language, duration, scheduling or assessment criteria, and no calendar of CALM sittings for a.a. 2026/2027 appears on the programme, department, School or university pages. The pre-assessment form requires the candidate to authorise being summoned informally: 'l'autorizzazione ad essere convocati dalla Commissione Ammissione Laurea Magistrale ... per le vie brevi (posta elettronica o via telefono)' - i.e. by email or telephone, at short notice. An international applicant should assume they may be called and should give a reachable phone number and a monitored email address. (3) THE CLA ENGLISH PLACEMENT TEST - the fallback route for candidates without a B2 certificate, administered by the Centro Linguistico di Ateneo, and note that it is scheduled for enrolled students rather than functioning as a pre-admission screen: 'Students who have non-certified English language skills comparable to level B2 can sit the Placement Test, typically scheduled at the beginning of each year (from January).' It targets 'students enrolled in the LM in Molecular and Industrial Biotechnology (matrix N80) to ascertain the linguistic skills required to be admitted to the CdS (comparable to level B2)'. It 'consists of a series of exercises of various kinds differentiated by level', is sat in university computer rooms - 'Typically the Placement Test takes place in the computer rooms of the Department of Biology' - with venues published on the CLA website and booking made on the ESOL platform. The binding consequence is a mid-course block, not an entry block: 'The English language knowledge requirements must be acquired BEFORE SITTING THE EXAMS OF THE COURSES SCHEDULED FOR THE SECOND YEAR.' (4) NO ITALIAN LANGUAGE TEST is set by the programme itself; if the university treats this IT/ENG degree as Italian-taught for visa purposes, an Italian proficiency test administered under the Universitaly procedure could apply to non-EU applicants - see language_requirements and uncertainty_notes. No 2026/2027 CLA placement-test calendar specific to this programme was found on the pages consulted.

  • THE PROGRAMME'S OWN LIST IS SPECIFIED BY REGULATION, BUT THE FORM IS A SCANNED PDF WITH NO EXTRACTABLE TEXT AND NO INTERNATIONAL VARIANT IS PUBLISHED. A) FOR THE PRE-ASSESSMENT (domanda di prevalutazione) - the decisive course-level submission, set out in Art. 2 of the access regulation. Candidates must attach to the pre-assessment form, which is 'disponibile sul sito della Scuola Politecnica e delle Scienze di Base' and delivered to the Area Didattica di Scienze in the Centri Comuni area of the Monte Sant'Angelo complex: (i) 'i dettagli della formazione pregressa, ossia la laurea conseguita, l'elenco in dettaglio degli esami sostenuti CORREDATI DAI RELATIVI PROGRAMMI DEI CORSI e l'elenco di eventuali altre attivita formative, sviluppate per il conseguimento della laurea, ove presenti' - the degree obtained, a detailed list of examinations passed ACCOMPANIED BY THE COURSE SYLLABI, and a list of any other training activities. The syllabus requirement is the heavy one and is easy to overlook: a transcript alone is not enough, because the CALM must judge subject relevance against four named disciplinary blocks; (ii) telephone and email contact details; (iii) written authorisation to be summoned by the CALM informally, by email or telephone. 'Le domande di prevalutazione e la documentazione allegata saranno inoltrate al Presidente della Commissione Ammissione Laurea Magistrale.' The School's form is published as 'Valutazione iscrizione Laurea Magistrale' (https://www.scuolapsb.unina.it/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Valutazionepre1.pdf), with a companion 'Valutazione carriera pregressa' form; both are image-only PDFs from which no text could be extracted, so the exact fields could not be read. Add the English B2 certificate, since B2 is an access requirement. B) FOR EU CANDIDATES (and non-EU candidates resident in Italy/EU) - the qualification-recognition dossier per international.unina.it: eventual TRANSLATIONS; LEGALISATIONS; DIPLOMA SUPPLEMENT; CERTIFICATES OF EXAMINATIONS; certificates from the Italian ENIC-NARIC centre CIMEA (https://www.cimea.it/EN/); and any DECLARATIONS OF VALUE (Dichiarazione di Valore) issued by the competent diplomatic representations. C) FOR NON-EU CANDIDATES RESIDING ABROAD - documents to take to the Italian Embassy: the SUMMARY OF THE PRE-ENROLMENT APPLICATION submitted through Universitaly and validated by the University; any LANGUAGE COMPETENCE CERTIFICATES; the documents required for the VISA APPLICATION including a HEALTH INSURANCE POLICY where applicable; and the required documents for the foreign qualification. To obtain FROM the Embassy: the type 'D' study entry visa, the stamped health insurance policy and the endorsed qualification documents. D) FOR FINAL ENROLMENT - international.unina.it's 'Documents required for enrolment': copy of PASSPORT; APPLICATION FORM; 1 PASSPORT PHOTO; TAX CODE (codice fiscale); RESIDENCE PERMIT (proof of having applied for it); and the DECLARATION OF VALUE issued by the Italian Embassy in the country where the degree was obtained, or a certificate of validity issued by ENIC-NARIC centres. The page adds the standing caveat: 'Important: always check the instructions on the degree programme's website.' E) VISA-RELATED FINANCIAL AND PRACTICAL EVIDENCE (non-EU): means of subsistence of EUR 10,179.85 per year proven by personal or family financial guarantees or by accredited Italian institutions; the sum needed for repatriation (a return ticket suffices); suitable accommodation in Italy; and adequate medical/hospitalisation insurance valid in Italy without limitations on emergency hospitalisation rates. The residence permit must be applied for within 8 days of arrival at a Post Office, with the application kit, payment slip, a EUR 16.00 duty stamp and the passport. F) FOR HOLDERS OF THE LISTED FEDERICO II FEEDER BACHELOR'S DEGREES: no dossier and no CALM opinion - the Student Office enrols them directly. G) NOT REQUIRED, as far as any published source shows: no CV, no motivation letter, no reference letters, no research proposal, no application fee. Whether the CALM requests further material case by case is not stated, and no English-language version of the pre-assessment procedure exists on the programme, department or School websites.

  • 1) THE OUTLINE'S PREMISE NEEDS CORRECTING ON TWO POINTS. First, there is no curriculum named 'Molecular and Industrial Biotechnology': that is the English name of the whole LM-8 degree, and the English-facing curriculum inside it is 'BiRRe - Biotechnology for Renewable Resources' (the other being 'ProBio - Produzioni Biotecnologiche', wholly Italian). Second, and far more important for an applicant, BiRRe is NOT fully English-taught. Four compulsory courses totalling 30 CFU are delivered in Italian, both proposed free-choice courses are Italian, the 18 CFU internship module's course sheet records Italian, and the graduation presentation 'is usually in Italian'. Roughly a quarter of the 120-CFU degree is compulsorily in Italian, with no English alternative published. Any listing that presents this as an English-taught master's is misleading. 2) THE PUBLISHED ENGLISH/ITALIAN CFU SPLIT IS INCONSISTENT ACROSS THREE OFFICIAL SOURCES: orientamento says 48 CFU English + 30 Italian; the programme website says 60 English + 30 Italian; the per-course sheets in the 2025-2026 Didactic Regulations and the a.a. 2026/2027 study plan add up to 57 English + 30 Italian. All agree on 6 English courses and 4 Italian ones and on the 30 CFU of Italian teaching. Treat 57/30 as the arithmetic reality and the other two as rounding or legacy figures. 3) THE CURRICULAR CREDIT THRESHOLDS CONFLICT, AND THE APPLICANT-FACING PAGE IS THE STALE ONE. The ordinamento/RAD (approved 2024), the unina.it and Dipartimento di Scienze Chimiche course sheets and Art. 4 of the Didactic Regulations in force since 2025-2026 all require 24 BIO / 6 MAT / 6 FIS / 16 CHIM (52 CFU). Both orientamento profiles, though stamped 'updated 2026/2027', still print 30 BIO / 6 MAT / 6 FIS / 18 CHIM (60 CFU). Candidates between the two sets should apply on the lower figures and flag the discrepancy in writing. 4) THE ENROLMENT WINDOW IS PUBLISHED THREE DIFFERENT WAYS - 16 July to 2 November 2026 (university notice), 'from July ... possible until March 31' (English orientamento) and 1 September to 31 October (Italian orientamento). The two orientamento profiles also contradict each other. Follow the university notice and confirm with segrmmff@unina.it. 5) THE ITALIAN-LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT FOR NON-EU APPLICANTS IS GENUINELY UNRESOLVED AND IS THE LARGEST SINGLE RISK IN THIS FILE. international.unina.it requires Italian B2 for a 'magistral degree course in ITALIAN' and exempts 'a three-year, five-year or single-cycle degree course in ENGLISH' - a clause that omits two-year magistral courses altogether. This degree is officially classified IT/ENG in the University's own international catalogue and really does deliver 30 CFU in Italian. Neither the exemption nor the requirement can be applied to it with confidence, and the certificate (if required) must be uploaded to Universitaly at pre-enrolment, i.e. by 15 June 2026, so the question cannot be deferred. Settle it in writing with the Coordinator and the International Welcome Desk months in advance. 6) NON-EU APPLICANTS FACE AN EARLY, UNFORGIVING CUT-OFF. Because the course is open access, the 15 June 2026 Universitaly pre-enrolment deadline is effectively absolute: the post-15-June concession is reserved to 'programmes with restricted access'. Anyone reading only the 2 November enrolment date would badly misjudge the timeline. 7) THE ADMISSION INTERVIEW IS DISCRETIONARY, NOT AUTOMATIC - a genuine difference from some sibling Federico II master's programmes. The RAD says 'e/o colloquio', the access regulation says 'eventuali colloqui individuali' and 'se lo riterra necessario'. No format, language, timing, calendar or criteria are published anywhere, and there is no published calendar of CALM sittings for 2026/2027; the only stated cadence is 'at least monthly except April and August'. 8) THE GOVERNING ACCESS REGULATION IS NINE YEARS OLD. 'Regolamento per l'accesso al corso di Laurea Magistrale' is footer-dated 'Settembre 2016' and is still the version linked from both orientamento profiles and the programme site. Its Table 1 of automatically-admitted feeder degrees, its reference to a paper application delivered in person to the Area Didattica di Scienze, and its silence on international applicants all reflect that vintage. The document also contains a typographical error in its own subject line ('BIOTECNOLOGIE MOLECOLARI E IDNUSTRIALI'). 9) NO INTERNATIONAL-FACING ADMISSIONS CHANNEL EXISTS AT COURSE LEVEL. Unlike, for example, Federico II's Medical Biotechnology, this programme publishes no dedicated admissions email, no English-language admission page, no application form in English and no instructions for foreign-qualification holders. The procedure has to be assembled from the university-level international pages plus the 2016 access regulation, and first contact is the Coordinator's personal email. 10) FOUR DIFFERENT ENGLISH NAMES FOR THE SAME DEGREE APPEAR ON unina.it: 'Industrial and Molecular Biotechnology' (ordinamento/RAD, and the cover and Annex 1.2 of the Didactic Regulations), 'Molecular and Industrial Biotechnology' (orientamento, international catalogue, programme site, Annex 2.1 of the same Regulations), 'Molecular and Industrial Biotechnologies' (programme site Coordinator page), and in Italian the invariant 'Biotecnologie Molecolari e Industriali'. A diploma-supplement translation could carry any of the English forms; the Italian title is the one that will appear on the diploma. 11) THE COORDINATOR IS RECORDED DIFFERENTLY ON DIFFERENT unina.it PAGES. The unina.it and Dipartimento di Scienze Chimiche SUA course sheets both name 'Prof. Antonio MARZOCCHELLA'; the orientamento profiles and the programme website's own Coordinator page both name Prof.ssa Daria Maria Monti, the latter in terms that describe the current post-holder. Treat Prof.ssa Monti as current and the SUA sheets as un-updated - this matters because international.unina.it routes EU applicants to 'the Coordinator of the course'. 12) A SEAT CAP EXISTS FOR THE BACHELOR OF THE SAME NAME AND IS EASILY MISATTRIBUTED. The three-year L-2 'Biotecnologie Molecolari e Industriali' is numero programmato locale with max 150 places, selected on the school-leaving grade; this master's has no cap. Search engines and aggregators conflate the two. 13) NO SEAT, QUOTA OR SUSTAINABLE-ENROLMENT FIGURE COULD BE CONFIRMED FROM STRUCTURED SOURCES, and no per-course non-EU contingente is published. Both conclusions are inferences from silence. 14) THE THESIS LANGUAGE RULE IS STATED THREE WAYS. The Didactic Regulations and the RAD say the dissertation 'may also be drawn up in English', with an Italian extract attached; the orientamento profile says students are 'encouraged' to write in English and that a two-page Italian summary is then mandatory; the Italian programme page describes the final dissertation flatly as 'redatto in lingua inglese'. There is no rule making an English thesis compulsory for BiRRe students (contrast Federico II's Medical Biotechnology, where the English curriculum's thesis must be in English). Assume English is permitted and encouraged but that an Italian extract is required. 15) TWO CONFLICTING FREE-CHOICE CREDIT FIGURES APPEAR ON THE ENGLISH ORIENTAMENTO PAGE: the study plan says 'Free selection proposed by the student - 12 CFU' while the 'Customizing the study plan' box says 'Students have to submit a PdS to select the free selection of courses (18 CFU)'. The Didactic Regulations and both study plans fix TAF D at 12 CFU and TAF F (internship) at 18 CFU, so the '18 CFU' in that box is a transcription error. 16) THE ENGLISH-LANGUAGE STUDY PLAN PDF HIDES THE LANGUAGE SPLIT. The official a.a. 2026/2027 English study plan translates every course title into English and gives no language column, so a reader using only English-language material cannot tell that four of the courses are taught in Italian. Only the Italian PDF, the Italian orientamento profile and the programme website table (which flags them '(IT)') disclose it, and only Annex 2 of the Didactic Regulations states it course by course. 17) THE PROGRAMME WEBSITE IS HTTP-ONLY. www.biotecnologieindustriali.unina.it refuses connections on port 443; any https:// form of its URLs will fail, and tools that force HTTPS cannot reach the Didactic Regulations, the access regulation or the language page. 18) MINOR DEFECTS IN OFFICIAL SOURCES, reproduced here so they are recognisable when searching: 'Iyalian' for 'Italian' and 'Eropean' for 'European' on international.unina.it; 'IDNUSTRIALI' in the access regulation; 'Accesso al Corso: Laurea di 2 livello' on the unina.it course sheet where a first-level degree is meant; 'Bioecomics and intellectual property' for 'Bioeconomics' on the English orientamento page; the address spelled both 'Via Cinthia' and 'Via Cintia'; and the Italian orientamento slug lacking the '-lm' suffix that the English one carries. 19) THE PRE-ASSESSMENT FORMS COULD NOT BE READ. Both 'Valutazionepre1.pdf' and 'ValCarrieraPregressa1.pdf' on scuolapsb.unina.it are image-only PDFs with no extractable text layer, so their exact fields and any printed deadlines could not be verified; the document list above comes from Art. 2 of the access regulation instead. 20) FEE FIGURES CARRY NO ACADEMIC YEAR. The EUR 200 / EUR 140 / EUR 16 amounts come solely from international.unina.it, which does not say which year they apply to, and for Italian-resident students the contribution is ISEE-based rather than flat, so the figure is a reference rather than a universal charge.
