This is the IMAT-type national test route. RESOLUTION OF THE CRITICAL OPEN QUESTION: this programme does NOT go through the new national 'semestre filtro / semestre aperto' (Legge 26/2025, D.M. 418/2025 and D.M. 431/2025). The Federico II semestre filtro hub and the university's own 2026/27 filter-semester news list only the ITALIAN-taught courses — Medicina e Chirurgia (LM-41), Medicina e Chirurgia Tecnologica (Napoli and Benevento), Odontoiatria e Protesi Dentaria (LM-46) and Medicina Veterinaria (LM-42) — and never mention 'lingua inglese'. In parallel, Federico II published a separate 2026/27 competitive call (bando) for the English-language course, D.R. n. 3111 of 10/08/2026, that runs an entrance examination on 29 September 2026 with registration on Universitaly, i.e. the classic pre-reform selection route. Applications for both candidate categories (EU/non-EU resident in Italy, and non-EU resident abroad) go through the same single test; the two categories are then ranked in two separate rankings. There is therefore ONE admission route, not a separate 'international track' — but non-EU candidates resident abroad compete in a reserved quota whose ranking is compiled by Federico II itself rather than by CINECA.
Resmî Eğitim Dili: English. This is the fully English-taught version of Medicine and Surgery, run in parallel to the Italian-language 'Medicina e Chirurgia' course. Italian B2 is NOT required for admission or pre-enrolment because the programme is English-taught; the university's international pages state for English-taught degrees that 'level B2 Italian language proficiency is not required'. Note that clinical placements take place in Italian-speaking hospital settings, and the School's own site offers both 'COURSES OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE' and 'COURSES OF ITALIAN LANGUAGE' support modules for enrolled students.

(4) Anonymous scores published by CINECA on Universitaly: 8 Ekim 2026. (5) Candidates can view their own paper and score: 19 Ekim 2026. (6) National nominative merit ranking published on Universitaly: 26 Ekim 2026. (7) Enrolment window after each ranking release: maximum 4 days (excluding Saturdays and public holidays, including the day of the ranking release). For non-EU citizens resident abroad (45 reserved seats), a.y. 2026/27: (1) Visa pre-enrolment on Universitaly (www.universitaly.it/studenti-stranieri): the Federico II general deadline was 15 Haziran 2026, but the university explicitly states that after that date pre-enrolment remains open for restricted-access programmes, which includes Medicine and Surgery in English. (2) Deadline to submit the visa application at Italian Embassies/Consulates: 30 Kasım 2026. (3) Admission-test registration on Universitaly: 26 Ağustos 2026 to 9 Eylül 2026, 15:00 (GMT+2) — same single national procedure as EU candidates; non-EU candidates abroad may choose an overseas test venue from Table A of D.M. 1005/2026. (4) Test date: 29 Eylül 2026. (5) Ranking: the ranking for non-EU candidates resident abroad is compiled by Federico II itself (not by CINECA), 'with the same procedures' as the national ranking; the university publishes it on www.unina.it. (6) Enrolment deadline for this category: — the bando states only that non-EU candidates resident abroad must enrol 'by the deadline that will be made known when the relevant ranking is published', in person at the university offices indicated in that publication. As of 30 Ağustos 2026 that date is not yet published. The increase from 70 to 80 was made by D.R. n. 2792 of 20.7.2026 at CRUI's request and is confirmed in Table B of D.M. n. 1005/2026. NOTE: the orientamento.unina.it programme page (still marked 'UPDATED 2025/2026') shows the older figure of 70 seats (25 + 45), which was the a.y. 2025/26 / initially programmed 2026/27 number. | Seats (non-EU reserved): 45 seats reserved for non-EU citizens resident abroad (unchanged between the 70-seat and the 80-seat versions of the 2026/27 programming). The remaining 35 seats are for EU citizens and non-EU citizens legally resident in Italy. The ranking for the 45 reserved seats is compiled by Federico II itself, not by CINECA, and these candidates only need a score above zero to be eligible (no 20-point minimum).
Eligible candidates (art. 2 of the 2026/27 bando): (1) holders of an Italian upper-secondary school leaving diploma (diploma di istruzione secondaria di secondo grado)

Dil yeterliliği: NO mandatory English certificate is imposed by the 2026/27 admission call. Key points: (a) The test itself is entirely in English, so English proficiency is tested implicitly. (b) At test registration on Universitaly, candidates DECLARE (self-certification under art. 46 D.P.R. 445/2000) whether they hold one of the English language certifications listed in Annex 3 of D.M. n. 1005/2026; this certification is used ONLY as a tie-breaker if two candidates finish on the same score (after the subject-by-subject tie-breaks). False declarations lead to cancellation of enrolment. (c) Italian language: for English-taught degrees, Federico II's international pages state that B2 Italian is not required, and no Italian language test is imposed for pre-enrolment. (d) For non-EU applicants abroad, Federico II notes that an international English certificate (IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge, etc.) is 'useful for the issue of the visa by the diplomatic/consular Representation' — i.e. useful for the embassy, not a university admission requirement. In short: no hard English threshold (no fixed B2/IELTS score) is published by Federico II for this programme for 2026/27.

Format: 60 multiple-choice questions with 5 options each, in 100 minutes: reading comprehension and general knowledge 4, logical reasoning and problems 5, biology 23, chemistry 15, physics and mathematics 13. Minimum score: EU candidates and non-EU candidates legally resident in Italy must reach at least 20 points to be eligible; non-EU candidates resident abroad only need a score above zero (candidates who answer nothing are excluded from the ranking). Tie-breaks in order: biology, chemistry, physics & maths, logical reasoning, reading; then possession of an English certification from Annex 3 of D.M. 1005/2026; then invalidity >=66% or L.104/1992 art.3 c.3 disability; then younger candidate. Papers are processed anonymously by CINECA. The Federico II School of Medicine's own English course website hosts an 'ADMISSION TEST (IMAT)' page pointing to IMAT preparation/past-paper resources, confirming the IMAT route. NOTE: this is a different exam from the semestre filtro/semestre aperto exams (20 November and 10 December sessions) used for the Italian-taught health-area courses.

For the admission test (art. 3 and art. 6 of the bando): online registration on Universitaly + payment of the test contribution; on test day the candidate must show (i) a valid photo identity document (ID card, driving licence with photo, passport, etc.) and (ii) the Universitaly test-registration receipt. Candidates with disability/invalidity (L.104/1992) or SLD/DSA (L.170/2010) must send a request plus original or certified copy of the medical certification (DSA diagnosis no older than 3 years or issued after the candidate's 18th birthday) by PEC to area.studenti@pec.unina.it. Foreign-resident candidates with disability/DSA must supply the certification issued in their country of residence with a sworn translation into Italian or English.

For enrolment (art. 10 of the bando + Federico II international pages): access to https://www.segrepass1.unina.it/Welcome.do with codice fiscale/password or SPID, 'Accettazione posto in graduatoria', then 'Immatricolazioni ai Corsi di Studio a numero programmato', self-certification of the school qualification and family income (ISEEU), and payment of the first instalment + regional tax (bank transfer and post-office payments are NOT accepted). Foreign-citizenship students must enrol at the Segreteria Studenti counters, not online.
- C. Documents for non-EU applicants (international.unina.it): validated Universitaly pre-enrolment summary; copy of passport; enrolment application form; 1 passport photo; Italian tax code (codice fiscale); proof of having applied for the residence permit; foreign qualification documents — translation, legalisation, Diploma Supplement, transcripts, and either a Declaration of Value (DoV) issued by the Italian Embassy or a CIMEA/ENIC-NARIC statement of comparability; health insurance policy for the visa. Federico II explicitly does NOT issue admission letters for visa purposes.

Evidence: (a) Federico II published a distinct 2026/27 competitive call for this course, D.R. 3111 of 10/08/2026, based on D.M. MUR n. 1005/2026 — a decree written specifically for the English-taught Medicine/Dentistry/Veterinary courses — with an entrance exam on 29 September 2026 and CINECA-processed anonymous papers; (b) the Federico II semestre filtro hub and the university's 2026/27 filter-semester news list only the Italian-taught LM-41 / LM-41 'tecnologica' / LM-46 / LM-42 courses and never mention 'lingua inglese'; (c) the semestre filtro registration window (closed 3 August 2026) and lesson start (1 September 2026) are structurally incompatible with a 29 September 2026 entrance exam; (d) the School of Medicine's own English course website keeps an 'ADMISSION TEST (IMAT)' page. So the 'Numero Programmato Nazionale' wording on the English programme page is still accurate — it just refers to the separate national English-language (IMAT-type) competition, not to the filter semester. No conflicting official unina.it statement was found. 2) SEAT COUNT CONFLICT: the task brief and the orientamento.unina.it page state 70 seats (25 + 45). This is outdated for a.y. 2026/27. The official bando of 10/08/2026 states 80 seats (35 EU/non-EU-resident-in-Italy + 45 non-EU resident abroad), following D.R. n. 2792 of 20.7.2026 which raised the EU/resident-in-Italy quota from 25 to 35 at CRUI's request; Table B of D.M. 1005/2026 confirms 35 + 45. The orientamento page is explicitly labelled 'UPDATED 2025/2026' and has not been refreshed. Figures given here are the 2026/27 ones. 3) NOT A SEPARATE INTERNATIONAL TRACK: non-EU candidates resident abroad do not have a distinct application route — they take the same single national English-language test on the same day.
