The entire programme is taught residentially at the Improsta Regional Experimental Farm (Azienda Agricola Regionale Sperimentale Improsta), SS 18 Tirrena Inferiore, Km 79+800, 84025 EBOLI (SA), Italy — in the province of Salerno, roughly 85 km south-east of Naples, not in the Naples metropolitan area and not on any of the University's usual sites (Monte Sant'Angelo, Policlinico, Portici, San Giovanni a Teduccio, Centro Storico, Frullone). This resolves the "campus: to be verified" flag in the research brief and is the single most consequential practical fact about this programme. The orientamento portal's Directions field gives: "Azienda Agricola Regionale Sperimentale Improsta – SS 18 – Tirrena Inferiore – Km 79+800 84025 EBOLI (SA)", and its Timetable field: "Courses start at 9.00 at the Regional experimental agricultural farm 'Improsta' SS 18 – Tirrenia Inferiore – Km 79+800 84025 EBOLI (SA)". The Didactic Regulations, Art. 2, describe the site: "L'intero percorso di studi è svolto in forma residenziale presso l'azienda sperimentale Regionale Improsta in cui, oltre ad una superficie a seminativi di circa 100 ha, è presente un allevamento di 150 bufale adulte da latte, un caseificio sperimentale e diversi laboratori." (approx. 100 ha of arable land, a herd of 150 adult dairy buffalo, an experimental dairy and several laboratories). The orientamento portal adds that the site has "classrooms to ensure frontal teaching, study rooms, computer rooms, a guesthouse equipped for students and a canteen". ACCOMMODATION AND MEALS ARE PART OF THE OFFER, BUT CAPPED. The Department's enrolment page states: "The Master's Degree Programme in Precision Livestock Farming (PLF) provides free accommodation and meals at the Improsta Farm residential facilities for a maximum of 25 students (10 EU students and 15 non-EU students). ... Only the first 25 students in the final ranking (10 EU and 15 non-EU students) will be entitled to free accommodation and meals at Improsta Farm. Students enrolled beyond this quota may attend the programme but will not be provided with accommodation and will be responsible for arranging and covering their own housing expenses." The orientamento.unina.it course sheet header states "Admission Numero Programmato Locale". The Didactic Regulations, Art. 5(3): "L'accesso al CdS in Precision Livestock farming è a numero limitato e viene programmato annualmente a livello locale. Il numero programmato è motivato soprattutto dalle caratteristiche del percorso formativo che è di tipo residenziale presso l'azienda agricola Improsta. Inoltre, nell'ambito delle attività curriculari sono previste lezioni teorico-pratiche e laboratori didattici da impartire a gruppi di studenti di numero limitato di 5-10 per turno affinché le attività siano efficaci e si svolgano in sicurezza." This is a materially different regime from Federico II's open-access English-taught Master's degrees (e.g. Sustainable Food Systems): a candidate here can meet every requirement and still be refused a place if not high enough in the merit ranking. Selection is "per soli titoli" (on qualifications alone), with TWO SEPARATE AND DIFFERENT PROCEDURES running in parallel: (1) EU CITIZENS + NON-EU CITIZENS LEGALLY RESIDENT IN ITALY (25 places). • 15 Haziran 2026 — Universitaly pre-enrolment deadline, WITH AN EXPLICIT EXCEPTION THAT COVERS THIS PROGRAMME. international.unina.it: "JUNE – 15 – 2026 – Pre-enrolment application deadline to University of Naples Federico II. After this date no programme changes are permitted. After this date pre-enrolment is allowed to the programmes with restricted access only." Because Precision Livestock Farming IS a restricted-access programme (numero programmato locale), pre-enrolment for it remains possible after 15 June 2026 — the opposite of the position for Federico II's open-access English-taught Master's degrees. The University does not publish the later cut-off that then applies. Pre-enrolment is made exclusively through https://www.universitaly.it/studenti-stranieri, indicating the University of Naples Federico II, the PLF programme, and the Embassy/Consulate where the visa will be requested.
• Selection by the Coordinator, on dates not published. Decree, Art. 6: non-EU candidates abroad are assessed "mediante valutazione dei curricula e colloqui che verranno svolti anche a distanza direttamente a cura del Coordinamento Didattico del Corso di Laurea Magistrale" — CV evaluation plus an interview that may be held remotely, run by Prof. Francesco Vinale's coordination. THE 40 FIGURE (total admissions). The CCD resolution behind the decree set "il numero degli iscrivibili pari a 40 unità, di cui 15 posti riservati per i cittadini non comunitari residenti all'estero" (CCD deliberation no. 2/2026 of 19.5.2026, approved by DR 2340 of 16.6.2026). Decree, Art. 1, then lists: "numero 25 posti per cittadini comunitari e non comunitari regolarmente residenti in Italia; numero 15 posti riservati a cittadini non comunitari residenti all'estero." 25 + 15 = 40. The orientamento.unina.it course sheet (a.y. 2026/2027) states the same total: "The access to the PLF Master Degree is limited to n. 40 (25 EU citizens or non-EU citizens legally residing in Italy + 15 non-EU citizen) students who will be selected with procedure defined by the Didactic Coordination Committee."
THE 25 FIGURE (residential places with free board and lodging). The same decree's Art. 1 opening clause says the competition is announced "per un numero massimo di 25 unità" — apparently a residue of the residential-capacity constraint recorded in the CCD resolution: "Resta invariata la disponibilità di vitto e alloggio presso la struttura Improsta di Eboli, che continuerà ad essere garantita a un massimo di 25 studenti iscritti." The Department's own enrolment page confirms that 25 is the accommodation quota and splits it differently: "The Master's Degree Programme in Precision Livestock Farming (PLF) provides free accommodation and meals at the Improsta Farm residential facilities for a maximum of 25 students (10 EU students and 15 non-EU students). ... Only the first 25 students in the final ranking (10 EU and 15 non-EU students) will be entitled to free accommodation and meals at Improsta Farm. The 2026/27 decree records the Coordinator's confirmation of the method used in previous years: "SENTITO il coordinatore del corso di studio di cui sopra, prof. Francesco Vinale, circa l'opportunità di confermare le modalità di selezione già utilizzate negli scorsi anni accademici, ossia di svolgere la selezione per soli titoli". Four distinct assessments nevertheless exist, and only the first is competitive:
1) COMPETITIVE RANKING — EU citizens and non-EU citizens resident in Italy. Ranking by the weighted average of the marks obtained in the examinations of the bachelor's degree declared as the entry qualification, in descending order. Decree, Art. 7: "La graduatoria di merito sarà formulata, per i cittadini comunitari, secondo l'ordine decrescente della media ponderata riportata negli esami di profitto, superati nell'ambito del corso di laurea indicato dal candidato quale requisito partecipativo. L'iscrizione avverrà fino alla copertura dei posti messi a concorso ed indicati all'articolo 1 del presente bando. In caso di parità di punteggio, prevale il candidato più giovane". Nothing else counts — not the degree class, not a motivation letter, not work experience, not English level.
2) COMPETITIVE RANKING — non-EU citizens residing abroad. A separate ranking based on CV/qualifications plus an interview, which may be conducted remotely, held directly by the Programme's Didactic Coordination: "Per i cittadini non comunitari residenti all'estero, la selezione verrà effettuata mediante valutazione dei curricula e colloqui che verranno svolti anche a distanza direttamente a cura del Coordinamento Didattico del Corso di Laurea Magistrale." No scoring grid, interview syllabus or date list is published. The Didactic Regulations, Art. 5(4), describe the criteria as "del curriculum e di tutti i titoli presentati dai candidati non-EU" (versus, for EU candidates, "della media degli esami sostenuti, del voto di Laurea e di un colloquio orale").

A) EU / ITALY-RESIDENT COMPETITION APPLICATION (SegrePass, by 28 September 2026 14:00). The online form is self-certified under art. 46 D.P.R. 445/2000 and requires: personal data and Italian tax code (codice fiscale) — or SPID login; identification of the bachelor's degree used as the entry qualification; and the weighted average of the examinations of that degree. No documents are uploaded and no fee is paid at this stage. The University verifies the declared weighted average afterwards: "L'Amministrazione procederà all'accertamento della veridicità delle dichiarazioni rese nella domanda di partecipazione dai candidati circa la media ponderata riportata negli esami di profitto". False declarations void the matriculation (arts. 75–76 D.P.R. 445/2000). The applicant must record and keep the application protocol number, which is the only identifier used in all published notices.
B) ADDITIONAL FILING FOR CANDIDATES NOT FROM CLASS L-38 / 40 (same deadline, by certified e-mail to segremedvet@pec.unina.it): "un'autocertificazione del piano di studi e degli esami superati con voti, date, settori scientifico disciplinari e numero di crediti attribuiti a ciascuna attività didattica, resa ai sensi del D.P.R. 445/2000 redatta secondo lo schema di cui all'allegato 1 del presente bando" — a self-certified study plan and transcript giving, for every course, the mark, date, SSD sector and number of credits. 1) BRIEF CONFIRMED, WITH THE CAMPUS RESOLVED. level = master (Laurea Magistrale, 120 CFU, 2 years) ✓. type = standalone (own SUA-CdS record, own Didactic Regulations, own annual admission decree, own CCD — not a curriculum inside another degree) ✓. degree_class = LM-86 ✓ (the decree writes it as "LM-86 R"; the substantive class is LM-86 – Scienze Zootecniche e Tecnologie Animali). campus = RESOLVED: Azienda Agricola Regionale Sperimentale Improsta, SS 18 Tirrena Inferiore Km 79+800, 84025 Eboli (SA) — in the province of Salerno, NOT in Naples and not on any Federico II city campus. 2) THIS IS A RESTRICTED-ACCESS COURSE, NOT AN OPEN-ACCESS ONE. Unlike most of Federico II's English-taught Master's degrees, admission is by competitive ranking under a Rectoral decree with a hard deadline. Meeting the requirements does not guarantee a place. Applicants must not transplant the open-access advice that applies to, e.g., Sustainable Food Systems.
3) DATA YEAR / RESEARCH DATE. Research performed 30 Ağustos 2026. The orientation course sheet is marked "Updated on a.a. 2026/2027". The admission decree DR/2026/2496 (25 June 2026) and its amendment DR/2026/2636 (8 July 2026) are the current 2026/27 edition and were still open at the research date (deadline 28 September 2026, 14:00 — 29 days away). The Didactic Regulations available are the edition "in vigore a partire dall'a.a. 2025-2026"; the University fee/enrolment guide is the 2026-27 edition.
4) MATERIAL CONFLICT — 40 CFU vs 60 CFU for applicants from other degree classes. THIS IS THE MOST CONSEQUENTIAL DISCREPANCY IN THIS RECORD. The Didactic Regulations (Art. 4), the orientamento.unina.it 2026/2027 course sheet and the Department's admission-requirements page all say "at least 40 CFU" in the eight characterising sectors. The 2026/27 admission decree (Art. 2), which is the legally binding instrument for the competition and was NOT amended on this point, says "almeno 60 CFU" in the same eight sectors. A candidate from, say, a biology or agricultural-engineering bachelor's degree with 45 CFU in these sectors would be eligible under the Regulations and ineligible under the decree. The decree should be treated as controlling for a.y. 2026/27, and the point should be put in writing to the Coordinator (frvinale@unina.it) before applying. Note that the eight sectors themselves are identical in every source; only the threshold differs.
5) MATERIAL DEFECT ALREADY CORRECTED — eligible degree classes. The admission decree as originally issued listed only classes L-38 and 40 as eligible, omitting L-25, LM-42, 20 and 47/S "per mero errore materiale". Amendment DR/2026/2636 of 8 July 2026 restored the full list. Anyone reading only the original bando PDF (or a cached copy, or a third-party aggregator that scraped it in early July) would wrongly conclude that an Agricultural Sciences (L-25) or Veterinary Medicine (LM-42) graduate cannot apply. Always read the bando together with the rettifica.
6) SEAT FIGURES ARE INTERNALLY INCONSISTENT IN THE DECREE ITSELF. Art. 1 of DR/2026/2496 announces the competition "per un numero massimo di 25 unità" and then, in the same sentence, lists "25 posti" + "15 posti" = 40. The CCD resolution quoted in the preamble sets "il numero degli iscrivibili pari a 40 unità" while guaranteeing board and lodging at Improsta "a un massimo di 25 studenti iscritti". The Department's enrolment page reconciles this by treating 25 as the ACCOMMODATION quota, split 10 EU + 15 non-EU. Best reading: 40 admitted, 25 housed. But the 10/15 accommodation split published by the Department does not appear in the decree, and an EU candidate ranked 11th or lower on the general list has no published guarantee of housing. This is a €thousands-per-year question in a rural location with no university residence, and it should be confirmed with the Coordinator before accepting a place. Note also that an earlier version of the orientamento sheet stated a total of "25 students (10 Italians + 15 foreigners)", so the total was raised to 40 for 2026/27 while residential capacity stayed at 25 — the leftover "25" in Art. 1 is probably an un-updated remnant.
7) NON-EU-ABROAD PROCEDURE IS THE LARGEST DOCUMENTATION GAP. The decree's Art. 3 sets out the SegrePass application procedure only for "cittadini italiani, comunitari e non comunitari residenti in Italia". For non-EU candidates residing abroad it states only that selection happens "mediante valutazione dei curricula e colloqui ... a cura del Coordinamento Didattico" — with NO application form, NO submission address, NO document list, NO deadline and NO scoring criteria published anywhere on unina.it or mvpa-unina.org. Meanwhile the Department published a "Final ranking non EU 2026-27" on 6 July 2026, almost three months BEFORE the EU application deadline of 28 September 2026, which proves that the non-EU selection ran on a separate and much earlier calendar that was never published. A non-EU applicant relying on the September date would have missed this cycle entirely. Direct early contact with Prof. Francesco Vinale (frvinale@unina.it) and Prof. Laura Rinaldi (lrinaldi@unina.it) is not optional for this route — it is the only reliable channel.
8) RESTRICTED-ACCESS EXCEPTION TO THE UNIVERSITALY DEADLINE, WITH NO REPLACEMENT DATE. international.unina.it sets 15 June 2026 as the pre-enrolment deadline but adds "After this date pre-enrolment is allowed to the programmes with restricted access only." PLF is restricted-access, so the 15 June cut-off does not bind it — yet the University publishes no later cut-off for restricted-access programmes. The operative limits then become the 30 November 2026 visa deadline and the decree's 31 December 2026 final matriculation date.
9) NO ADMISSION LETTER FOR VISA PURPOSES. international.unina.it states: "The University of Naples Federico II does not issue admission letters for obtaining a visa." This differs from the pre-acceptance-letter practice advertised by some other Federico II departments (e.g. Agricultural Sciences for Sustainable Food Systems) and can be a practical obstacle at consulates that expect one. Non-EU applicants should raise it with the Coordinator early and rely on the Universitaly pre-enrolment summary validated by the University, plus (per the decree) their position in the separate non-EU ranking.
10) TUITION FIGURES CONFLICT INTERNALLY. international.unina.it publishes a flat scheme (EU €200 tuition + €140 regional tax + €16 stamp; non-EU €140 + €16) whose €140 regional tax matches none of the three 2026/27 brackets (€130 / €151 / €173) in the current student guide; the international page appears not to have been refreshed for 2026/27. No unina.it page states a PLF-specific fee. Also note that the decree's own payment deadline (12 October 2026, on pain of exclusion) is earlier than the general guide's 2 November 2026 first-instalment date, and that bank transfers and post-office payments are expressly refused.
11) ENGLISH B2 DETAILS UNPUBLISHED. No accepted-certificate list, no score table (IELTS/TOEFL/Cambridge equivalents to B2), no exemption rules and no placement-test dates for a.y. 2026/27 were available at the research date. The requirement is stated only in CEFR terms and only as a pass/fail eligibility gate — it earns no ranking points.
12) PERSONAL-PREPARATION INTERVIEW DATES UNPUBLISHED. Candidates below 91/110 (or below a 25/30 weighted average, if still graduating) must sit an oral interview on Mathematics, Chemistry, Biochemistry and the eight VET/AGR disciplines, but no dates, syllabus or format for 2026/27 are published. Since most foreign bachelor's grading scales do not map cleanly onto /110, essentially every international applicant may fall into this route by default — a material unknown for the target audience of this research.
13) SOURCE-DOMAIN CAVEAT. The task restricted sources to unina.it. The primary documents — the orientation course sheet, the admission decree, the amendment, the Annex 1 template, the Didactic Regulations, the student fee guide, the international pages and the numero-programmato index — are all on unina.it hosts (unina.it, old.unina.it, orientamento.unina.it, international.unina.it, erasmus.unina.it). However, the Department of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Production publishes its programme site on mvpa-unina.org, a separate top-level domain rather than a unina.it subdomain. It is unambiguously the official department site — it is linked from orientamento.unina.it as "Sito web del Dipartimento" and named in the Didactic Regulations as an official publication channel for the bando ("sul sito di Dipartimento di Medicina Veterinaria e Produzioni Animali (www.mvpa-unina.org)") — so it was used, but readers applying a strict unina.it-only rule should note that the accommodation quota (10 EU + 15 non-EU), the remedial-course provision, the new-format SSD codes and the existence of the July 2026 non-EU ranking come from that domain. 14) BROKEN / DEGRADED LINKS ENCOUNTERED. www.orientamento.unina.it presents an invalid TLS certificate chain to some clients ("unable to verify the first certificate"); www.erasmus.unina.it, which hosts the Didactic Regulations PDF, presents an expired certificate. Both were retrievable only with certificate verification relaxed. The unina.it document endpoints (/documents/d/guest/...) return an empty body to requests without a browser User-Agent. The University's own UniversItaly_2026_27.pdf information sheet has non-extractable embedded text, so the non-EU dates in this record were taken from the HTML pages on international.unina.it instead.
15) NO ENGLISH VERSION OF THE 2026/27 CALL WAS FOUND. The Didactic Regulations promise "un estratto del bando in lingua inglese" published for information only, and such extracts exist for earlier years (2019/20 on erasmus.unina.it; 2022/23 on mvpa-unina.org), but no 2026/27 English extract was located at the research date. The 13-page binding decree, its 2-page amendment and the Annex 1 self-certification template are all Italian-only — a real barrier for a programme that admits 15 non-EU students a year and is taught entirely in English.
16) SEPARATE UNIVERSITALY NON-EU CONTINGENT NOT CHECKED. As with all Italian programmes, a per-course contingent for non-EU candidates residing abroad is declared on universitaly.it.
