Kampüs

Grugliasco (Turin metropolitan area, Piedmont, Italy) - the Grugliasco agro-veterinary campus of the University of Turin, shared by DISAFA, the Department of Veterinary Sciences and the SAMEV school. The Italian course sheet states 'Sede didattica: Grugliasco'; the English microsite renders it 'Teaching venue: Grugliasco (Turin)'. apply.unito.it lists Institution location 'Italy, Turin' but Study location and Department location 'Italy, Grugliasco'. The University's legal/administrative seat is Via Verdi 8, 10124 Torino.

Kabul Tipi

Open access / free access ('accesso non programmato', also written 'accesso libero') SUBJECT TO verification of curricular requirements and of adequate personal preparation. Exact wording on the official pages: Italian - 'Il Corso di Laurea Magistrale in Scienze Animali e ad accesso non programmato' and 'Tipo di accesso: accesso libero, previa verifica dei requisiti curriculari ed adeguata preparazione'; English microsite - 'The Master's Degree Course in Animal Science is open to access' and 'Type of access: free access, subject to verification of curricular requirements and adequate preparation'. There is NO national numerus clausus, NO TOLC, NO SAT, NO GRE/GMAT and no ranked competitive selection call. However, open access does NOT mean automatic admission: admission is conditional on (a) meeting the minimum curricular requirements (requisiti curriculari minimi) documented by transcript, and (b) passing a mandatory oral admission interview assessing 'adequate personal preparation'. Enrolment with formative gaps ('carenze formative') is explicitly NOT permitted. In addition, for applicants going through the international Apply@UniTo route there is a HARD AUTOMATIC GRADE CUT-OFF that functions as a de-facto selection filter: 'Candidates whose ratio between the obtained CGPA and the maximum obtainable CGPA is lower than 0.8 will be automatically excluded from the selection.' For non-EU applicants residing abroad a separate quota applies (50 places, shared across both curricula - see academic_requirements). International applicants apply through the Apply@UniTo (DreamApply) portal within one of the University's fixed admission calls, plus - for visa applicants - Universitaly pre-enrolment; holders of Italian qualifications instead enrol directly via MyUniTo (myUniTo > Iscrizioni > Test valutazione).

Kabul koşulları

Akademik geçmiş

A.Y. 2026/27: a three-year first-cycle degree (Laurea) or three-year university diploma, or a foreign qualification recognised as suitable; Apply@UniTo asks for a bachelor's degree in Animal Science, Agricultural Science or a similar field (at least 3 years of university) with a solid background in agriculture and livestock production systems, plant and animal production and agricultural economics. Minimum curricular requirements: at least 60 ECTS in basic and/or core activities, of which at least 20 ECTS in physics, informatics, mathematics, statistics/economics, veterinary anatomy, botany, plant physiology, zoology, ecology, chemistry, biochemistry and biology sectors, and at least 40 ECTS in veterinary and agricultural sectors (veterinary physiology and pathology, inspection of foods of animal origin, infectious and parasitic animal diseases, veterinary pharmacology, agricultural economics, agronomy and field crops, agricultural genetics, agricultural machinery, rural buildings, entomology, agricultural chemistry, food science, agricultural microbiology, livestock systems and animal breeding, animal nutrition and feeding, animal science, aquaculture, poultry and rabbit science). Italian classes L-25, L-38 and LM-42 (and the older classes 20, 40 and 47/S) meet these requirements automatically; for other degrees, including foreign ones, the degree programme council decides equivalence case by case on the basis of the course syllabi. Enrolment with training gaps is not allowed; candidates missing some requirements may be advised to pass single university courses first. Good IT skills and fluent written and oral English (at least B2) are taken for granted. On Apply@UniTo (foreign-qualification applicants), candidates whose ratio between obtained and maximum grade average (CGPA) is below 0.8 are excluded automatically. 50 places are reserved for non-EU applicants residing abroad, shared between the degree's two curricula.

Dil yeterliliği

A.Y. 2026/27: English only; no Italian language requirement for admission (Apply@UniTo lists English as the only language requirement). Adequate written and oral English, including the technical vocabulary of the field, at least at CEFR B2 is required. The requirement is met with at least one English exam in the applicant's university career or a certificate of at least CEFR B2 issued by an accredited body; no minimum test scores are published. Apply@UniTo states that English is verified during the admission interview, which includes English translation and comprehension.

Sınav / değerlendirme

A.Y. 2026/27: no national or standardised test (no TOLC, SAT, GRE or GMAT). After the check of the curricular requirements, a committee appointed by the degree programme council verifies personal preparation through an oral interview (in person or online) on three areas: livestock production (anatomy, physiology, morphology and function of farmed animals; feed nutrients and nutritional needs of the main farmed species; rationing; genetic improvement), crop production (forages and forage systems) and English (translation and comprehension, including the technical vocabulary). Graduates of the Italian degree classes L-25, L-38 and LM-42 with a final grade above 90/110 are exempt from the interview (personal preparation is considered adequate) but must still submit the admission application for the check of the minimum requirements; all other applicants must pass the interview. A failed interview can be retaken on a later scheduled date, at most twice per academic year. 2026/27 interview dates for the MyUniTo route (Italian degree holders): 4 June, 14 October and 1 December 2026; Apply@UniTo applicants are interviewed by the evaluation committee (no separate dates published). On Apply@UniTo, candidates whose grade average is below 0.8 of the maximum of their grading scale are excluded automatically before the interview. Candidates who lack some curricular requirements may be advised to pass single university courses first and then take the interview.

  • All dates and requirements shown are for A.Y. 2026/27; the A.Y. 2027/28 admission dates are not published yet. In 2026/27 the only call open to non-EU applicants living abroad ran from 25 November 2025 to 29 January 2026.
  • The interview dates shown (4 June, 14 October and 1 December 2026) belong to the procedure for holders of an Italian degree; the official pages do not say whether applicants with a foreign degree are interviewed on the same dates.
  • The automatic exclusion of candidates below 0.8 of the maximum grade average is published only on the Apply@UniTo page for applicants with a foreign degree; the programme's own admission page does not mention it.
  • The interview exemption for a final grade above 90/110 is stated only for the Italian degree classes L-25, L-38 and LM-42; foreign degrees are assessed case by case.
  • UniTo's required-documents page marks a CV as mandatory for Master's applicants, while the Apply@UniTo 'Required documentation' page lists only a motivation letter.
  • The 2026/27 university catalogue lists the degree class as 'LM-86 R' (the reformed code of LM-86) with the same programme code 1707M22.
  • Fees: the Apply@UniTo page still shows the A.Y. 2025/26 range (EUR 156 to 2,800 per year); the A.Y. 2026/27 fee rules are on the linked fee page.
  • en.unito.it calls the 25 August - 8 September 2026 window the 'Second application call', while Apply@UniTo calls it the 'Fourth admission call'; the dates are the same.
