Kampüs

Turin (Torino), Piedmont, Italy. Official 'Headquarter: TORINO'. Administering structure: Department of Cultures, Politics and Society (Dipartimento di Culture, Politica e Societa), School of Law, Political and Economic-Social Sciences - teaching is based at the Campus Luigi Einaudi, Lungo Dora Siena 100, Turin.

Derece Sınıfı

LM-81

Kabul Tipi

Open access / free admission with a required admission interview ('corso ad accesso non programmato' - the official UNITO record states Access: Free). There is no numerus clausus and no national/TOLC-style entrance test, but enrolment is possible ONLY after passing an individual interview ('colloquio') that verifies curricular requirements and the adequacy of the candidate's personal preparation. Access is therefore 'open access + selection call/interview' rather than purely open. Reserved international quota: 60 places for non-EU citizens residing abroad, plus 10 places reserved for Marco Polo programme students. Candidates with a foreign qualification must go through the Apply@UniTo portal; candidates with an Italian qualification register for the interview through MyUniTo.

AB / AEA adayları

A.Y. 2026/27 (the 2027/28 dates are not published yet). The route depends on where the bachelor's degree was obtained. (1) Holders of a foreign qualification apply on Apply@UniTo (EUR 60 fee, up to two programmes): first admission call 25 November 2025 - 29 January 2026 (open to all applicants), and fourth admission call for open-access postgraduate programmes 25 August - 8 September 2026, reserved to Italians, EU/EU-equivalent citizens and non-EU citizens legally residing in Italy (en.unito.it calls it the 'Second application call'); both are closed for 2026/27. (2) Holders of an Italian qualification submit the preliminary admission application ('Domanda di ammissione preliminare magistrali') on the UniTo portal between 25 May and 20 November 2026, in three rounds linked to the interview sessions: applications 25 May - 1 July 2026 for interviews on 6-17 July 2026; applications 20 July - 10 September 2026 for interviews on 14-25 September 2026; applications 25 September - 20 November 2026 for interviews on 23 November - 4 December 2026. Kabul koşulları

Akademik geçmiş
  • 1) QUALIFICATION: a Bachelor's Degree ('Laurea Triennale') or a three-year university diploma, or any qualification obtained abroad recognised as equivalent under the legislation in force. The apply.unito.it entry-qualification statement requires a first-cycle degree gained after at least 3 years of university education.
  • 2) CURRICULAR REQUIREMENTS - the candidate must satisfy ONE of the following: (a) an Italian degree in Political Science and International Relations (class L-36); (b) an Italian degree in Peace Studies (class L-37); or (c) at least 18 Italian credits (CFU/ECTS or equivalent) spread across AT LEAST TWO of the listed blocks of academic disciplines (SSD). The blocks are summarised on apply.unito.it as: Law; History, Anthropology, Demography; Economics, Statistics; Political sciences, Social sciences; Language and translation (French, Portuguese, Spanish, Swahili, Arabic, Hindi, Chinese, Russian). The detailed SSD list includes L-LIN/04, L-LIN/06, L-LIN/07, L-LIN/09, L-LIN/12, L-OR/09, L-OR/10, L-OR/12, L-OR/19, L-OR/21, IUS/02, IUS/08, IUS/09, IUS/13, IUS/14, IUS/21, M-DEA/01, M-GGR/01, M-GGR/02, M-STO/02, M-STO/03, M-STO/04, M-STO/05, M-STO/06, SECS-P/01, SECS-P/02, SECS-P/03, SECS-P/07, SECS-P/08, SECS-P/12, SECS-S/01, SECS-S/03, SECS-S/04, SECS-S/05, SPS/02, SPS/03, SPS/04, SPS/05, SPS/06, SPS/07, SPS/08, SPS/09, SPS/10, SPS/11, SPS/12, SPS/13, SPS/14. If the applicant already holds an Italian Master's degree, the credit count is made over the whole university career.
  • 3) PERSONAL PREPARATION: verified through the mandatory admission interview; enrolment is not permitted where a 'carenza formativa' (training deficit) exists.

Dil yeterliliği
  • ENGLISH - CEFR B2 or higher is required. Two routes are accepted at application through Apply@UniTo: (i) an international certificate no more than three years old, from the accepted list with minimum scores - Cambridge CPE; Cambridge CAE; Cambridge FCE with minimum score 173 (grade B); PTE Academic minimum 65; IELTS minimum 5.5 overall with no component below 5.5; TOEFL iBT minimum 69/120 with no component below 17; Trinity College ISE II; or (ii) an official document issued by the applicant's previous university stating that the medium of instruction was English. The programme's own admission page adds that students may self-certify adequate English by presenting a university English exam certificate equivalent to the required level. English is also assessed orally during the admission interview, which is conducted in English.
  • SECOND LANGUAGE - a basic knowledge (CEFR A2 or higher) of ONE of the other languages taught in the Master's programme is required: French, Portuguese, Spanish, Swahili, Arabic, Hindi, Chinese, Russian, Japanese (apply.unito.it adds Italian to this list for international applicants). This can be self-certified by presenting a university language exam certificate at the equivalent level, and it is verified during the interview.
  • ITALIAN - foreign students are required to have a basic knowledge of Italian (A2 or higher); those who do not have it must take an Italian course for international students (at UNITO or elsewhere). Note that the UNITO-wide rule requiring a CLIQ-issued B2 Italian certificate by the Universitaly deadline applies only to Italian-taught undergraduate / 5-6-year programmes, so it does NOT apply to this English-taught master's; the A2 Italian expectation here is a programme-level requirement, and the official Italian-language text of the access requirements says the interview for international candidates verifies knowledge of English AND Italian.

Sınav / değerlendirme

A.Y. 2026/27: no written or standardised test (no TOLC, SAT, GRE or GMAT). Candidates who meet the curricular requirements take an admission interview in English, which also checks English and the second language. Candidates with an Italian qualification are split into two streams: (a) at least 24 CFU in at least 3 of the listed discipline blocks and a degree grade of at least 99/110 (or, if not yet graduated, an exam average of at least 26/30): motivational interview only; (b) all others: interview that also tests knowledge of a booklet prepared by the AGIC faculty (published on the 'How to apply' page). The online format and the one-attempt rule are published only for candidates with an Italian qualification: their interview is held online and can be taken only once. 2026/27 interview sessions for Italian-qualification candidates: 6-17 July, 14-25 September and 23 November - 4 December 2026. Candidates with a foreign qualification (Apply@UniTo) who meet the curricular requirements are interviewed in English on their English and second language (for international students this can be Italian), their general knowledge of the programme's main themes and their previous experience; the catalogue text adds that international candidates' English and Italian are checked at the interview. Candidates who lack curricular requirements are told by the programme board which ones are missing and how to acquire them (for example single courses) before the last session.

  • All dates and requirements shown are for A.Y. 2026/27; the A.Y. 2027/28 admission dates are not published yet. In 2026/27 the only call open to non-EU applicants living abroad ran from 25 November 2025 to 29 January 2026.
  • Besides English at B2 level, every candidate needs basic (A2) knowledge of one other language taught in the programme (French, Portuguese, Spanish, Swahili, Arabic, Hindi, Chinese, Russian or Japanese; for international applicants this can also be Italian), checked at the interview. The official pages differ slightly on Italian: the programme page says the second language can be Italian for international students, while the university catalogue says international candidates' English and Italian are both checked at the interview.
  • Foreign students are expected to have basic Italian (A2); those without it must take an Italian course at UniTo or elsewhere. The programme page does not say whether this is checked before admission.
  • The online interview format, the one-attempt rule and the 2026/27 session dates are published only for candidates with an Italian qualification; the official pages give no interview dates, format or attempt limit for candidates with a foreign qualification.
  • For candidates with an Italian qualification the 2026/27 document list does not ask for a motivation letter or CV. For candidates with a foreign qualification, UniTo's required-documents page marks both as mandatory, while the Apply@UniTo 'Required documentation' page lists only a motivation letter.
  • Turin is the programme's official seat and its office is at Campus Luigi Einaudi (Lungodora Siena 100, Turin); the official pages do not list the teaching rooms.
  • Fees: the Apply@UniTo page still shows the A.Y. 2025/26 range (EUR 156 to 2,800 per year); the A.Y. 2026/27 fee rules are on the linked fee page.
  • en.unito.it calls the 25 August - 8 September 2026 window the 'Second application call', while Apply@UniTo calls it the 'Fourth admission call'; the dates are the same.
