Open access (no restricted number of places / 'numero programmato' does not apply), but admission is conditional on verification of the candidate's personal preparation. Apply@UniTo classifies it under the calls for 'open access postgraduate degree programs'. Verification is done through an online admission test, from which some candidates are exempted on the basis of their academic record. A separate territorial quota of 50 places applies to non-European applicants residing abroad. International applicants (holders of a foreign qualification) apply through the Apply@UniTo (DreamApply) portal; holders of an Italian degree apply through the domestic rounds published on the programme microsite.

UniTo's general enrolment window for free-admission Master's on MyUniTo: 23 July 2026, 9:30 a.m. - 14 January 2027, 3:00 p.m. (2) Foreign degree (EU citizens, non-EU citizens already legally resident in Italy and Italian citizens with foreign qualifications): Apply@UniTo first call 25 November 2025 - 29 January 2026 (open to any international student) or late call 25 August - 8 September 2026 (feedback around the beginning of October 2026). A.Y. 2026/27 (A.Y. 2027/28 dates not yet published). Non-EU applicants residing abroad (visa applicants) with a foreign degree: Apply@UniTo first admission call for postgraduate programmes, 25 November 2025 - 29 January 2026 - the only 2026/27 call open to them (the 25 August - 8 September 2026 call is reserved to EU citizens, non-EU citizens legally resident in Italy and Italian citizens with foreign qualifications). The programme evaluates applications in batches: feedback around mid-February 2026 for applications received 25 November 2025 - 1 January 2026, around mid-March 2026 for those received 2 - 24 January 2026 and around the beginning of May 2026 for those received 25 - 29 January 2026. Universitaly visa pre-enrolment (one programme only): by 15 July 2026. 50 places are reserved for non-EU applicants residing abroad. The 2026/27 application period has ended.
A.Y. 2026/27. ENTRY QUALIFICATION: a first-cycle degree (bachelor's / Laurea Triennale) obtained after at least 3 years of university education, or an equivalent or higher title. Apply@UniTo: the degree should be in Mathematics, Statistics or Physics; other degrees may be accepted if they provide the necessary background knowledge (degrees in Mathematics, Physics or Statistics are preferred). Applicants who do not yet hold the degree must be able to obtain it by the final enrolment deadline (typically the following December/January). Applicants holding several degrees must indicate the one most relevant to the programme.
CREDIT PREREQUISITE: previous studies must include at least 20% of credits (36 CFU for Italian degrees) in these areas: Mathematics (MATH-*), Statistics (STAT-*), Econometrics (ECON-05/A), Computer Science (INFO-01/A, IINF/*), Physics (PHYS-01/A, PHYS-02/A). The credits can be cumulated across these areas and over several previous studies (e.g. a bachelor's and a master's) and may include certified additional single exams. Applicants who do not meet the prerequisite should attend and certify individual courses in these areas before applying.
PERSONAL PREPARATION: verified by an online test (Analysis, Probability, Statistics, English) unless the candidate meets the exemption conditions (see the entry test). No minimum GPA and no GRE or GMAT score is published.
English at minimum CEFR B2 level. Apply@UniTo states: 'Your knowledge of the English language (at least B2 level) will be verified during the admission procedure.' English proficiency is therefore assessed inside the admission process itself - the admission test includes a dedicated English proficiency section (5 questions) - so an external certificate is not stated as strictly mandatory on the official pages, but an English language certificate may be requested as one of the 'additional documents required by some specific postgraduate degree programmes'. Where UNITO requires a certificate it accepts IELTS, TOEFL iBT, Cambridge CPE/CAE/FCE, PTE Academic and Trinity College ISE II; Duolingo English Test is not accepted. No Italian language requirement applies for admission, since the programme is entirely in English (Italian is only useful for daily life; free Italian courses are offered by the University). Third-party aggregator sites quote a TOEFL iBT minimum of 87 for this programme, but this figure could not be confirmed on any official unito.it page.
A.Y. 2026/27. Admission requires a check of personal preparation through an online test, unless the candidate is exempt. The test lasts 75 minutes and has 4 parts: 10 multiple-choice questions each in Analysis, Probability and Statistics and 5 questions on English proficiency; all questions carry equal marks and wrong answers are not penalised; an overall score of at least 60% is required, and the Admission Committee may also examine successful candidates orally. A syllabus of background topics is published on the programme's Admissions page; details on how to take the test are sent by e-mail and candidates are told about their test one week in advance. Test dates for applicants with an Italian degree: 16 June 2026 (Round 1) and 3 September 2026 (Round 2)
Round 3 has no test. EXEMPTION (admitted on documents, an application is still required) when conditions A+B or A+C are met: A) previous studies include at least 20% of courses in Mathematics (for Italian degrees at least 36 CFU in MATH-* sectors)
B) the candidate is still within the regular duration of the programme and has completed all exams at the time of application
Apply@UniTo (applicants with a foreign degree), A.Y. 2026/27: valid ID card (Italian, EU and EU-equivalent citizens) or valid passport (non-EU citizens); non-EU citizens legally residing in Italy also a residence permit valid for university enrolment
First-cycle (bachelor's) degree certificate obtained after at least 15 years of total schooling (EQF 6 / ISCED 6), all pages, with proof of authenticity; if not yet graduated: an official certificate of enrolment in the final year and an official score report (the degree must be obtained by the enrolment deadline)
Transcript of records listing all exams, marks, hours and/or credits, with proof of authenticity, showing the 20% credit prerequisite (a Diploma Supplement that includes the complete transcript can replace degree certificate and transcript); applicants with several degrees indicate the most relevant one
Curriculum vitae (mandatory)
Motivation letter in English or Italian (mandatory)
Certificates of any additional single courses taken to meet the credit prerequisite
4 belge daha
Optional but useful: syllabus / course descriptions with a translation into Italian, English, French or Spanish (also used to check the test-exemption conditions); declaration of value or CIMEA statement of comparability and grading system (mandatory if the office requests them)
Documents are accepted in Italian, English, French or Spanish; documents in other languages need a certified translation into one of these languages
Non-refundable EUR 60 application fee, paid within the call deadline (same amount for one or two programmes)
Applicants with an Italian degree do not use Apply@UniTo: they submit the online preliminary admission application on MyUniTo (type A) in the programme's rounds, attaching the documentation the programme specifies
All admission information shown is for A.Y. 2026/27; the A.Y. 2027/28 dates are not published yet, and the A.Y. 2026/27 application period on Apply@UniTo has ended.
The programme's regulations allow the check of personal preparation to be an online test or individual interviews, decided each year; the online test described here is the A.Y. 2026/27 format.
No separate test dates are published for applicants who apply through Apply@UniTo; the programme sends test details to applicants by e-mail.
No minimum English test score is published for this programme: English (at least B2) is checked during the admission procedure, and how it is checked for candidates exempted from the test is not stated. A TOEFL iBT minimum of 87 quoted on third-party websites does not appear on any University of Turin page.
The fee range shown on the Apply@UniTo course page (EUR 156-2,800 per year) is the A.Y. 2025/26 range; the A.Y. 2026/27 fee rules are on the University of Turin tuition fee page linked here.
