Holders of a FOREIGN qualification who are Italians, EU/EU-equivalent citizens or non-EU citizens legally residing in Italy apply on Apply@UniTo (EUR 60 non-refundable fee, up to two programmes) in one of two calls: the first admission call, 25 November 2025 - 29 January 2026 (open to all postgraduate applicants), or the fourth admission call for open-access postgraduate programmes, 25 August - 8 September 2026 (reserved to this group; UniTo's English pages call it the 'second application call'). Both have closed ('Application period has ended'). Holders of an ITALIAN qualification (graduated, or graduating by the end of December) submit the online preliminary admission application for humanities master's degrees on MyUniTo until 31 December 2026 (the programme site gives 3 June 2026 as the opening date in its English text and 23 July 2026 in its Italian text); missing credits can be obtained through single-course exams until 31 December 2026; after approval, and after graduating, they complete enrolment on MyUniTo between 23 July 2026 and 14 January 2027 (3:00 p.m.).

Academic year 2026/2027, non-EU citizens residing abroad (visa applicants): the ONLY usable Apply@UniTo window was the First admission call, 25 November 2025 - 29 January 2026, which is the single call 'open to all applicants wishing to apply for postgraduate degree programs'. The later calls (third, fourth and fifth) are explicitly 'reserved to Italians, EU and EU equivalents, non-EU citizens legally residing in Italy', and the 8 September 2026 deadline currently displayed on the course page carries the notice 'This call is reserved to European applicants and non-EU applicants legally residing in Italy. If you apply without this prerequisite, your application will not be considered.' In addition, admitted non-EU applicants needing a study visa must submit the pre-enrolment application on the Universitaly platform (one programme only, choosing the competent Italian embassy/consulate) by 15 July 2026 for a.y. 2026-2027. The equivalent window for the previous cycle was 'Application deadline for NON-EU Citizens residing abroad: January 30th 2025'. As of the research date (1 September 2026) the 2026/2027 non-EU-abroad window is closed; the corresponding first call for a.y. 2027/2028 would be expected around late November 2026 - late January 2027 but is not yet published. Akademik geçmiş: A.Y. 2026/27. 1) QUALIFICATION: a first-cycle degree (bachelor's / laurea triennale) obtained after at least 3 years of university education, or an equivalent foreign qualification recognised as suitable; three-year academic diplomas of Italian Conservatories and Academies of Fine Arts (and foreign Arts Academy or Music Conservatory bachelor's degrees) are accepted. 2) SUBJECT AREA: preferably a bachelor's degree in a class of the humanities or of the economic-managerial-legal area; degrees of other classes are accepted if the credit requirement below is met. 3) CURRICULAR CREDITS: at least 48 CFU/ECTS in the scientific-disciplinary sectors of the LM-49 class, covering at least three of these areas: history (L-ANT/02, L-ANT/03, L-ANT/07, L-ANT/08, M-STO/01, M-STO/02, M-STO/04, M-STO/06, SECS-P/12); art history (L-ART/01 to L-ART/04); media and performing arts (L-ART/05 to L-ART/07); foreign languages (L-LIN/04, L-LIN/07, L-LIN/09, L-LIN/12, L-LIN/14); economics and management (SECS-P/01, SECS-P/02, SECS-P/07, SECS-P/08, SECS-P/10); law and social sciences (IUS/01, IUS/04, IUS/06, IUS/09, IUS/13, IUS/14, M-PSI/05, SECS-S/03, SECS-S/05, SPS/07 to SPS/10); geography and landscape (BIO/07, GEO/04, ICAR/06, ICAR/15, M-GGR/01, M-GGR/02, SECS-S/04); the equivalent new sector codes of Ministerial Decree 639/2024 also count. 4) PERSONAL PREPARATION: adequate preparation for the programme, including English at B2 or an equivalent level, assessed by a Selection Committee of at least three programme teachers (the course regulation also asks students with a foreign qualification for basic Italian - see language requirements). 5) MISSING CREDITS: the Selection Committee indicates which single courses a candidate must take to cover missing credits; these exams must be passed before enrolment (on the Italian-qualification route by 31 December 2026, also at another university). 6) No minimum bachelor's grade is published. 7) PLACES: open access for Italian, EU and equivalent applicants and non-EU citizens legally residing in Italy; 85 places for non-EU applicants residing abroad (Apply@UniTo, 2026/27). 8) TIMING: applicants who have graduated or will graduate by the end of December submit the preliminary admission application first; enrolment is completed after graduating, by 14 January 2027.

Applicants with an Italian qualification (MyUniTo preliminary admission application for humanities master's degrees): self-certified list of exams with sector (SSD), credits and grade proving the 48 credits, plus any document proving the admission requirements (such as the English certificate); the course regulation describes the application dossier as a copy of the bachelor's degree, a CV in Italian or English, any English certificate and a motivation letter.
At enrolment on MyUniTo: a photo, a copy of a valid ID and of the Italian tax code; non-EU citizens residing abroad also need the Universitaly pre-enrolment (by 15 July 2026 for 2026/27), a study visa for 2026/27 and the receipt of the residence-permit application.

All dates and requirements shown are for the 2026/27 academic year; the 2027/28 calls and dates are not published yet. The expectation that the first 2027/28 call on Apply@UniTo opens around late November 2026 is based on the 2026/27 calendar, in which the first call was the only one open to non-EU applicants living abroad, and is not confirmed.
Teaching is entirely in English and no Italian certificate is needed to apply. However, the course regulation shown in the University of Turin's 2026/27 catalogue requires students with a foreign qualification who are not native Italian speakers to have a basic knowledge of Italian; those who cannot show it at admission must attend and pass the University's intensive basic Italian course before lessons start.
The programme website and Apply@UniTo do not mention the basic-Italian rule, and no official page says how basic Italian is checked; the programme's 2026-27 course regulation document is listed as being updated and is not yet available.
Official pages differ on the interview: the programme website admits applicants who meet every requirement directly and invites the others to an online interview, Apply@UniTo says prospective students will be interviewed, and the course regulation makes enrolment conditional on passing an interview. Applicants should be ready for an online interview.
For applicants with an Italian degree, the programme website gives two different opening dates for the preliminary admission application: 3 June 2026 in its English text and 23 July 2026 in its Italian text. The closing date, 31 December 2026, is the same in both.
Apply@UniTo still shows a tuition fee of EUR 2,800 per year and the 2025/26 range of EUR 156 to 2,800 depending on income; the 2026/27 amounts are on the University of Turin's tuition-fee pages.
