Eligible bachelor fields listed by UNITO: Agricultural Sciences; Food Sciences (food technology, safety, quality); Biology; Chemistry; Biotechnology; Pharmacy; Veterinary Science; Nutritional Science. The consortium admission page adds Food Safety, Nutrition and/or Economics and Management, and states that 'relevant degrees in other fields may be considered by the admissions committee on a case-by-case basis'. Path-specific academic prerequisites also apply, e.g. for the UNITO-starting tracks: Track/Semester 1 (UNITO, 'Food safety of the whole value chain') requires basic knowledge of food microbiology; other semesters require basic knowledge of the food system and, for engineering/science-heavy tracks, basic science or engineering knowledge (food, agriculture, natural sciences such as biology, chemistry or biotechnology, or chemical/mechanical/process engineering).
