Kampüs

Turin (Torino), Italy - Department of Economics, Social Studies, Applied Mathematics and Statistics (ESOMAS), within the School of Management and Economics (SME). Department reception: (+39) 011 670 6191.

Derece Sınıfı

LM-56

Kabul Tipi

Open access - 'course without restricted number of places' (no numerus clausus, no entrance exam and no ranking-based selection). Admission is instead by verification of prerequisites: the admission committee checks the curricular credits, the undergraduate grade/GPA and the English level. If one or more admission requirements are not met, the applicant may be called for an interview at the discretion of the admission committee. Applications are evaluated on a rolling basis. A separate territorial cap does exist for one applicant category only: the Apply@UniTo course record states the programme has 50 available places for non-European applicants residing abroad.

AB / AEA adayları

  • A.Y. 2026/27 (no 2027/28 dates published on 28 September 2026). (a) Holders of a FOREIGN qualification who are Italians, EU/EU-equivalent citizens or non-EU citizens legally residing in Italy apply on Apply@UniTo (EUR 60 non-refundable fee, up to two programmes) in the first admission call, 25 November 2025 - 29 January 2026 (open to all postgraduate applicants), or in the fourth admission call for open-access postgraduate programmes, 25 August - 8 September 2026 (reserved to this group
  • UniTo's English pages call it the 'second application call'); both have closed ('Application period has ended'). (b) Holders of an ITALIAN degree (typically a laurea triennale) apply on the programme's own online form, open between 1 March and 20 August (dates given without a year on the programme's 'How to apply' page, last updated 30 January 2026); applications are evaluated on a rolling basis, in some cases after an online interview. Admitted students then enrol on MyUniTo: the programme says the enrolment window starts in late August and closes in December
  • UniTo's general enrolment window for free-admission Master's is 23 July 2026, 9:30 a.m. - 14 January 2027, 3:00 p.m., with some programmes setting their own deadlines.

A.Y. 2026/27 (no 2027/28 dates published on 28 September 2026). Non-EU citizens residing abroad (visa applicants) could apply on Apply@UniTo only in the first admission call, 25 November 2025 - 29 January 2026 (EUR 60 fee); the later postgraduate call (25 August - 8 September 2026) is reserved to Italians, EU/EU-equivalent citizens and non-EU citizens legally residing in Italy. Admitted visa applicants then had to submit the Universitaly pre-enrolment for a.y. 2026-2027 by 15 July 2026 (one programme only, choosing the competent Italian embassy or consulate); the national deadline for filing the visa application is 30 November 2026. 50 places for non-EU applicants residing abroad. The 2026/27 windows have closed; the 2027/28 calls are not yet published.

Kabul koşulları

Akademik geçmiş

1) A first-cycle degree (Bachelor's) earned after at least 3 years of university education is required. Applicants are NOT required to already hold the Bachelor's degree when filing the application, but must be able to obtain it preferably before courses begin and in any case no later than the final enrolment deadline (around mid-December). 2) QUANTITATIVE/ECONOMIC BACKGROUND: at least one tenth of total undergraduate credits in Economics (i.e. 18 credits in courses classified SECS-P/01 to SECS-P/06 for an Italian degree) AND at least one tenth of total undergraduate credits in Mathematics and Statistics (i.e. 18 credits in SECS-S/01 to SECS-S/06 or MAT/06 for an Italian degree). Italian bachelor's degrees in classes L-18 (ex L-17) and L-33 (ex L-28) are deemed to satisfy these two credit requirements by default. 3) GRADE THRESHOLD: Grade Point Average or undergraduate final grade equal to or above 90% of the highest possible grade (99/110 for an Italian degree). The Apply@UniTo entry-qualification text phrases the merit test as satisfying AT LEAST ONE of: (i) a first-cycle degree issued by an institution in the top 12.5% of the RePEc ranking of Economics departments, or (ii) a final grade greater than or equal to 9/10 of the highest possible grade (e.g. 99/110 for an Italian degree). 4) Applicants are expected to have an appropriate background in the topics covered by the recommended textbooks. 5) If one or more requirements are not met, the candidate may be invited to an interview at the committee's discretion rather than being automatically rejected. 6) PLACES: no general numerus clausus ('course without restricted number of places'); the only cap is 50 available places for non-European applicants residing abroad. [uncertain: the relationship between the microsite wording (credits AND GPA all required) and the Apply@UniTo wording (RePEc-ranking OR grade >= 9/10) is not fully reconciled in the official texts; the microsite admission page's last recorded update is 25/03/2021.]

Dil yeterliliği

ENGLISH - CEFR B2 minimum, evidenced by an international certificate. Apply@UniTo (course 282) states applicants must hold an international certification attesting at least a CEFR B2 level, and that the certification must be no more than three years old. Accepted certificates and minimum scores: Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE); Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE); Cambridge First Certificate of English (FCE) with minimum score 173 (grade B); PTE Academic minimum 65; IELTS minimum 5.5 out of 9 with no component below 5.5; TOEFL iBT minimum 69 out of 120 with no component below 17; Trinity College ISE II. WAIVER/ALTERNATIVE: instead of a certificate, applicants may upload an official document issued by their previous university stating that the medium of instruction was English. FURTHER FALLBACK: the programme's own admission page states that if the English certification is missing the candidate may be considered for an interview conducted in English, in which the candidate must be able to write, speak and read fluently. ITALIAN - no Italian language requirement for this English-taught programme (the B2 Italian certificate rule that UNITO applies to non-EU visa applicants concerns free-admission postgraduate programmes taught in Italian, not this one).

Sınav / değerlendirme
  • No written entrance examination and no admission test (the programme is open access). The only possible selection step is an INTERVIEW, held at the discretion of the admission committee when one or more admission requirements are not met: (a) if the English certification is missing, the interview is conducted in English and the candidate must be able to write, speak and read fluently
  • (b) if the other (curricular/GPA) requirements are missing, the interview covers fundamentals of Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Mathematics and Statistics. The interview verifies the adequacy of the applicant's background and focuses on the topics whose low marks pulled the undergraduate GPA below 90% of the maximum; it may include a written part. Recommended preparation textbooks published by the programme: Pindyck & Rubinfeld 'Microeconomics' (ch. 1-12, 14-18)
  • A. Chiang 'Fundamental Methods of Mathematical Economics'

  • All dates shown are for the 2026/27 academic year; the 2027/28 calls and dates are not published yet.
  • The programme's application page gives the window for applicants with an Italian degree as 1 March to 20 August, without a year, while the course regulation in the University of Turin's 2026/27 catalogue says applications run from February/March until September.
  • The programme says its enrolment window closes in December and that the degree must be obtained by the final enrolment deadline, around mid-December, while the University's general enrolment window for free-admission Master's programmes runs until 14 January 2027; the exact 2026/27 closing date for this programme is not published.
  • The programme's admission page lists a final grade of at least 90% of the maximum together with the credit and English requirements, while Apply@UniTo requires the credits and B2 English and then accepts either a degree from an institution in the top 12.5% of the RePEc ranking of economics departments or a final grade of at least 9/10; the two texts are not reconciled.
  • Apply@UniTo requires a B2 English certificate no more than three years old, or an official statement that the previous degree was taught in English, while the programme's admission page says applicants without a certificate may be interviewed in English instead.
  • How the 50 places for non-EU applicants residing abroad are allocated when there are more applicants is not published.
  • Apply@UniTo still shows a tuition fee of EUR 2,800 per year and the 2025/26 range of EUR 156 to 2,800 depending on income; the 2026/27 fee rules are on the University of Turin's tuition-fee page.
  • The programme's link to the School of Management and Economics (SME) was not confirmed on the official pages checked; the department (ESOMAS) and the Turin location are confirmed.
