Applicants must hold a recognised first-cycle (Bachelor / Laurea Triennale) university degree obtained by July 31, 2026 from an officially accredited institution, equivalent to at least 3 years of academic studies (minimum 180 ECTS) and representing approximately 15 years of total prior schooling, that qualifies them to enrol in a related second-cycle programme in the country where the degree was awarded. Programme-specific prerequisites for the Laurea Magistrale (MSc) in Economics require that the prior undergraduate studies include: minimum 12 ECTS in the area of Statistics, minimum 14 ECTS in the area of Mathematics, and minimum 26 ECTS in a broader pool of subjects such as Economics, Business Economics/Management, Finance, Computer Science, or Actuarial Science. Admission is based on the evaluation of academic documents submitted with the application; enrolment is subject to verification of the validity of the qualification obtained. These prerequisites must be verifiable on the official transcript; if graduation is still pending, transcripts must list courses currently in progress and the expected graduation date. The MSc in Economics is delivered entirely in English at the Milan campus by the Faculty of Economics; it is a 2-year, 120-ECTS programme providing strong foundations in economic theory and quantitative methods, with curricular tracks/elective bundles in areas such as policy analysis, applied/quantitative economics, and economics of markets and financial intermediaries. The specific track activated for 2026/2027 and its track-coded requirements are not enumerated on the international.unicatt.it programme page.

Applicants must provide proof of English proficiency by submitting one of the accepted certificates. The certificate must be dated January 1, 2024 or later (Cattolica enforces a 2-year validity window relative to AY 2026/2027) and must be uploaded at the time of application — late submissions are not accepted and incomplete applications are rejected. Standard minimum scores accepted for English-taught 2-year MSc / Laurea Magistrale programmes (applicable to Economics as it is not listed among the higher-threshold programmes): IELTS Academic 6.0 (B2); TOEFL iBT 84 (B2); Cambridge English: First (FCE) 173 (B2-C1); Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) / Proficiency (CPE) accepted (B2-C2); PTE Academic 46 (B2); Oxford Test of English Advanced B2. Duolingo English Test is not listed among accepted certificates. Applicants are exempt from submitting a language test if they completed their previous studies in Australia, Canada (except Quebec), Ireland, Malta, New Zealand, South Africa, the UK, or the USA. Applicants who completed a full English-taught degree in an EU country must provide an official statement from the institution confirming that the degree was taught in English. Visa-requiring nationals (e.g. Iran, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal) must provide a certificate regardless of prior exemption status. The Economics programme follows the standard MSc threshold (IELTS 6.0 / TOEFL iBT 84) and is not listed among the higher-threshold programmes (The Arts and Industry of Narration: IELTS 7.0 / TOEFL 95; Banking and Finance: IELTS 6.5 / TOEFL 84; Global Business Management: IELTS 6.5 / TOEFL 85). No external entrance test (no GMAT/GRE required). Selection is based on documentary evaluation of academic record (with mandatory minimum-ECTS prerequisites in Statistics, Mathematics, and Economics/Business/Finance/Computer Science/Actuarial Science), CV, motivation letter, and English certificate. The Admissions Office may contact applicants for an additional interview if needed. Applications are evaluated on a rolling basis within each round, with results typically communicated within ~6 weeks of round close. Enrolment is confirmed only after the Admissions Office verifies the validity of the qualification.
