Applicants must hold a recognised first-cycle (Bachelor / Laurea Triennale) university degree of at least 3 years and 180 ECTS, awarded by an officially accredited institution by July 31, 2026, and approximately 15 years of total prior schooling (high school diploma also required). The qualification must allow access to a comparable second-cycle (master's) programme in the country of award. Programme preference: a Bachelor degree in Economics or Management is preferred. However, due to the interdisciplinary nature of the Healthcare Management programme (jointly delivered by the Faculties of Economics and of Medicine and Surgery), applicants from other academic backgrounds (including health sciences, biology, life sciences, engineering, social sciences) are explicitly encouraged to apply and will be evaluated case-by-case by the admissions board. If admitted from a non-Economics background, a reading list is provided on admission and a year-1 Healthcare Management Lab covers foundational economics, management and statistics. The programme is delivered at the Rome campus (Largo Francesco Vito) and benefits from the ecosystem of the A. Gemelli University Hospital, which serves as a real-world managerial lab and ranked first in Newsweek's 2024 Italian hospital rankings. No specific minimum-ECTS prerequisites in Statistics / Mathematics / Management are imposed at the application gate (unlike Cattolica's standard Laurea Magistrale in Management or Innovation and Technology Management); the foundation is delivered via the year-1 lab. [uncertain on whether an explicit minimum GPA or grade threshold is published for Healthcare Management 2026/2027]
Applicants must demonstrate English proficiency at the time of application by uploading one of the accepted certificates dated January 1, 2024 or later (Cattolica enforces a 2-year validity window relative to 2026/2027). Standard minimum scores for English-taught 2-year Laurea Magistrale programmes apply to Healthcare Management: Academic IELTS 6.0 (B2); TOEFL iBT 84 (Home Edition accepted, 'My Best Scores' not accepted; B2); Cambridge English: First (FCE) 173 (B2-C1); Cambridge English: Advanced or Proficiency accepted (B2-C2); Cambridge Business English: Vantage or Higher; PTE Academic 46 (B2); Trinity College London ISE Level II/III/IV; Oxford Test of English Advanced B2. Duolingo English Test is not listed among accepted certificates. Healthcare Management is not listed among the programmes that require an elevated English threshold (those are: Arts and Industry of Narration IELTS 7.0 / TOEFL 95; Banking and Finance IELTS 6.5; Global Business Management IELTS 6.5 / TOEFL 85). Applicants are exempt from submitting a language test if they completed their prior studies in Australia, Canada (except Quebec), Ireland, Malta, New Zealand, South Africa, the UK or the USA. Applicants who completed a full English-taught degree in an EU country must provide an official institutional statement confirming the degree was taught in English. The English certificate must be uploaded at submission; late submissions are not accepted and incomplete applications are rejected. [uncertain on Duolingo acceptance and on the conditional exemption tier for applicants from English-speaking African / Asian countries]
No external entrance exam (no GMAT/GRE required). Selection is based on review of academic record, CV, motivation letter and English certificate, followed by a mandatory online interview with professors from the Schools of Economics and Medicine (the joint Faculty teaching the programme). The interview verifies motivation, awareness of the healthcare-management subject area, and English speaking ability. Applicants from non-Economics / non-Management backgrounds may still be admitted but will be supplied with a foundational reading list and a Healthcare Management Lab running throughout the first year to build up missing knowledge in economics, management and statistics.
