Applicants must hold a recognised first-cycle (Bachelor / Laurea Triennale) university degree of at least 3 years and 180 ECTS, awarded by an officially accredited institution and qualifying the candidate to enrol in a related second-cycle programme in the country where the degree was awarded. Programme-specific prerequisite: a BSc in Food Science and Technology or Nutrition is required as the primary accepted background; BSc degrees in Biotechnology, Biological Sciences or Agricultural Sciences are accepted with integrative readings or pre-course work assigned by the consortium academic board. Applicants from Economic or Social Science backgrounds need a minimum of 60 ECTS already completed in relevant agricultural / food fields to be considered. The double degree structure assigns Year 1 (48 ECTS at Cattolica, Cremona campus, covering food chemistry, microbiology, nutrition, raw materials, technology, quality assurance and a theology seminar) and Year 2 (72 ECTS at ISARA Lyon and partly Cremona, covering entrepreneurship and sustainability in food industries, food processing innovation, core project and master thesis), and the awarded credential is a double degree: Laurea Magistrale in Food Processing: Innovation and Tradition from Cattolica plus MSc in Sustainable Food Systems from ISARA.

Applicants must demonstrate English proficiency at the time of application by either (a) submitting an English language certificate, or (b) providing official documentation that their prior degree was taught entirely in English. Accepted certificates and minimum scores published by the consortium: IELTS Academic 6.5 or higher; TOEFL 550+ (paper-based) or 80+ (iBT); Cambridge English 176 or higher. These scores are higher than Cattolica's standard 2-year MSc baseline (IELTS 6.0 / TOEFL iBT 84) and reflect the joint consortium requirement set with ISARA. Certificates must be uploaded with the application; missing or insufficient results result in rejection without appeal. Mother-tongue / country-of-study exemptions follow the consortium policy rather than the standard Cattolica country list. Sınav / Test

No external entrance exam (no GRE / GMAT required). Selection is based on review of academic record (BSc transcript and degree-class background fit), CV, motivation letter (consortium template) and English certificate. The academic board may request integrative readings or pre-course work if the prior bachelor degree is from a non-food/non-agriculture background (e.g. economics or social sciences require minimum 60 ECTS in relevant agricultural / food fields as integrative).
