• Applicants must hold a recognised first-cycle (Bachelor / Laurea Triennale) university degree obtained by July 31, 2026 from an officially accredited institution, equivalent to at least 3 years of academic studies (minimum 180 ECTS) and approximately 15 years of total schooling, that qualifies them to enrol in a related second-cycle programme in the country where the degree was awarded. The programme is the Laurea Magistrale in Physics (Class LM-17 R Fisica) delivered entirely in English at the Brescia campus by the Faculty of Mathematical, Physical and Natural Sciences. Four curricula/specialisations are available for 2026-27: (1) Condensed Matter Physics and Quantum Technologies
• (2) Theoretical Physics and Complex Systems
• (3) Climate Change and Management of Environmental Risk

Applicants must provide proof of English proficiency by submitting one of the accepted certificates. The certificate must be dated January 1, 2024 or later and must be uploaded at the time of application; incomplete or insufficient certificates result in automatic rejection with no second evaluation. Standard minimum scores accepted for English-taught 2-year MSc / Laurea Magistrale programmes (applicable to Physics, which is not in the higher-threshold list): Academic IELTS 6.0 (B2); TOEFL iBT 84 (B2); Cambridge English: First (FCE) 173 (B2-C1); Cambridge English: Advanced/Proficiency accepted (B2-C2); PTE Academic 46 (B2); Oxford Test of English Advanced B2. Applicants are exempt from submitting a language test if they completed their previous studies in Australia, Canada (except Quebec), Ireland, Malta, New Zealand, South Africa, the UK, or the USA. Applicants who completed a full English-taught degree in an EU country must provide an official statement from the institution confirming that the degree was taught in English. Non-EU applicants from Iran, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Nepal who require a study visa must submit a certificate regardless. The Brescia campus also operates a dedicated 'Evaluation test of English language proficiency' for applicants who lack an accepted external certificate. Sınav / değerlendirme

No external entrance test (no GRE/written exam). Selection is performed by the International Admissions Office and the programme committee on the basis of the academic record (with subject prerequisites in physics and mathematics — see academic_requirements), CV, motivation letter and English certificate. An English proficiency assessment is required (the Brescia Faculty hosts a dedicated 'Evaluation test of English language proficiency' page on the campus admissions section). Programme capacity: 60 total seats including 10 reserved for international applicants. Applications are evaluated on a rolling basis within each round, with results typically communicated within ~6 weeks of round close.
