Kampüs

Trento - Mesiano Campus, via Mesiano 77, 38123 Trento (TN), seat of the Department of Civil, Environmental and Mechanical Engineering (DICAM). The programme is interdepartmental: DICAM together with the Department of Physics and the Center Agriculture Food Environment (C3A). Mobility structure: year 1 at the University of Trento, first semester of year 2 at the University of Innsbruck (Austria), master's thesis in the second semester of year 2 at either partner university. All lectures are onsite and in-person attendance is expected; attendance onsite is mandatory at the University of Innsbruck.

Derece Sınıfı

LM-17 / LM-75

Kabul Tipi

Restricted access (numero programmato locale / 'Programmed' access) via a public selection call based on academic curriculum and merit, plus a mandatory interview. There is no TOLC, no SAT and no national numero programmato test. A total of 30 places is available for 2026/2027, of which 25 for Europeans and equivalents and a reserved quota of 5 for non-European citizens not resident in Italy; any unassigned non-EU quota places are released into the second session. Two calls are published each year: the first call is open to all categories, the second call only to Europeans and equivalents (and non-EU citizens already legally resident in Italy at the time of application). The Selection Committee is appointed by rectoral decree and includes at least three professors from the University of Trento and the University of Innsbruck (each university contributing at least one member); committee meetings and interviews may be held remotely.

Resmî Eğitim Dili

Fully English. The official language of the MSc programme is English (call for admission, Art. 1 para. 3: 'The official language of the MSc programme is English.'); the corsi.unitn.it programme fact box lists 'LANGUAGE: English'. There is no Italian-language percorso and no mixed English/Italian delivery. Knowledge of English at CEFR B2 or above is a hard admission requirement for every applicant. No Italian language requirement exists for admission. Because the second year (first semester) is spent at the University of Innsbruck, no German requirement is imposed either - the Innsbruck side of the double degree is also delivered in English.

Kabul koşulları

Akademik geçmiş

Degree requirement: a degree or university diploma obtained at the end of a course of study lasting at least three years awarded in Italy, OR a degree obtained abroad deemed suitable under the programme's academic regulations, with suitability verified by the Evaluation Committee through examination of the academic record. The programme is geared towards students with a bachelor in the natural sciences or engineering. Curricular (ECTS/CFU) requirements for Italian degrees: at least 24 CFU in the Mathematics and Statistics area (MAT/01 Mathematical Logic, MAT/02 Algebra, MAT/03 Geometry, MAT/04 Mathematics Education and History of Mathematics, MAT/05 Mathematical Analysis, MAT/06 Probability and Statistics, MAT/07 Mathematical Physics, MAT/08 Numerical Analysis, MAT/09 Operations Research); at least 30 CFU in the Physics area (FIS/01 Experimental Physics, FIS/02 Theoretical Physics Mathematical Models and Methods, FIS/03 Physics of Matter, FIS/04 Nuclear and Subnuclear Physics, FIS/05 Astronomy and Astrophysics, FIS/06 Physics of the Earth and of the Circumterrestrial Medium, FIS/07 Applied Physics, FIS/08 Physics Teaching and History of Physics); at least 6 CFU in the Chemistry area (CHIM/01, CHIM/02, CHIM/03, CHIM/06, CHIM/07, CHIM/12). The Physics minimum was amended on 17 February 2025 (raised to 30 CFU; earlier public descriptions of the programme cite 24 ECTS in physics and are outdated). For degrees awarded abroad, or awarded before the introduction of ECTS, the curricular requirements are assessed by the Selection Committee through content equivalences; a 'Requisites self assessment sheet' (XLSX, revised 17/2/2025) is strongly recommended but not mandatory. No minimum GPA threshold is published as a hard cut-off - GPA and degree class are instead scored within the 0-65 curriculum component. Places: 30 in total for 2026/2027, with 25 for Europeans and equivalents and 5 reserved for non-European citizens not resident in Italy; unassigned non-EU places roll over to the second session. Degree completion deadline: 30 June 2026 for non-Europeans; 15 October 2026 for Europeans and equivalents and for non-EU citizens graduating in Italy who hold a valid Italian study residence permit (this earlier EU/equivalent deadline than usual at UniTrento is explicitly justified by the need to formalise enrolment at the University of Innsbruck within the partner university's deadlines). Conditional admission: Italian, EU and equivalent citizens who do not yet meet the language requirement and/or the required SSD credits by the call deadline may still apply; if eligible and highly ranked they are conditionally admitted and must satisfy the outstanding requirement(s) by 15 October 2026, otherwise admission lapses. Transfers: candidates transferring from another master's programme or another Italian university must take part in this selection and be ranked eligible before applying for transfer.

Dil yeterliliği
  • English at CEFR level B2 minimum is mandatory for all applicants. It may be certified in any of the following ways: (1) uploading a certificate issued by an internationally recognised institution (the accepted list is that of the University Language Centre / CLA, plus a DICAM-specific list of accepted international certifications published as a PDF in Italian only) - the Selection Committee may also consider certificates outside these criteria and evaluate their eligibility
  • (2) an official declaration issued by the university that awarded the Bachelor's or Master's degree, proving that English was the medium of instruction
  • (3) declaring in the online application that the applicant is a citizen of a country whose official language is English
Sınav / değerlendirme
  • No entrance examination, no TOLC and no SAT. Selection is by evaluation of qualifications followed by a compulsory interview with the Selection Committee, which may be conducted online. Scoring out of 100: (a) curriculum studiorum 0-65 points - previous academic education (GPA and degree class), educational background, language certifications above the minimum required level, extra-academic experiences, coherence with the MSc learning objectives
  • (b) statement of purpose 0-5 points
  • (c) interview 0-30 points, assessing the candidate's preparation with respect to the MSc learning objectives. Only candidates scoring at least 25 points on criterion (a) are admitted to the interview. The interview date and time are notified at least 3 days in advance on the programme webpage (for 2026/27 a dedicated PDF, 'Master in Environmental Meteorology and Climate Physics 2026-2027 Interviews - First call', was published there). Candidates with a final score of at least 50/100 are declared eligible and ranked; ties are resolved in favour of the younger candidate. Two separate rankings are drawn up (Europeans/equivalents and non-Europeans). Separately, applicants who lack B2 English documentation may sit the English test of the University Language Centre (CLA) - written part in person in Trento, speaking part online; four 2026/27 sessions were published (registration windows 27 March-20 April, 20 April-15 May, 15 May-25 June, 25 June-21 August; written tests 27 April, 25 May, 6 July, 2 September at 14:30 CET; speaking 8 May, 5 June, 17 July, 11 September).

Hazırlanacak belgeler

    • Uploaded through the online application on the 'Degree courses in English' Apply portal: (i) copy of a valid passport, personal-data pages only (or an identity card, for EU citizens only) - not required for applicants logging in with SPID or CIE
    • (ii) copy of the degree certificate, if already obtained (for Italian public universities a self-certification under Articles 46-47 of Presidential Decree 445/2000 is uploaded instead; nothing is required if the degree is from the University of Trento)
    • (iii) a transcript of records listing credits and grades for each exam taken, the weighted average (GPA) and, for Italian degrees, the SSD of each exam - for non-Italian degrees the grading scale (maximum grade and minimum pass grade) and the official duration of the study programme must be indicated; if the degree is not yet obtained, exams not yet taken must also be listed and the expected graduation date declared in the application

  • 1) ACCESS LIMITATION AND HOW IT WAS OVERCOME: corsi.unitn.it and www.unitn.it are behind a WAF/bot-protection layer that returns HTTP 405 ('Human Verification' interstitial) / 403 to direct fetches; the challenge was deliberately NOT bypassed. Instead the official content was read first-hand from Internet Archive captures of the official pages (non-EU admission page captured 19 April 2026; EU/equivalents admission page captured 19 April 2026; programme overview captured 26 July 2026) and, most importantly, from the official 2026/2027 call PDF itself, downloaded intact from the Internet Archive capture of 19 April 2026 (16 pages, 349 KB, matching the size stated on the UniTrento page). orienta.unitn.it was reachable directly and corroborates degree class, campus and access type. Facts here therefore rest on the official document text, not on search-engine snippets - but they reflect the state of the pages as of 19 April / 26 July 2026 and any later amendment published on the live site could not be seen. 2) BINDING VERSION: the PDF read is explicitly a courtesy translation - 'This English version is intended only as an aid for foreign candidates. The only legally binding version of the call is the Italian one. This is a courtesy translation produced with the support of AI-assisted tools.' The Italian bando (bando-ammissione-lm-env-meteo-climate-phys-26-27.pdf) was not read; in case of any discrepancy the Italian text prevails. 3) CYCLE STATUS: as of 31 August 2026 both 2026/2027 windows have closed (first call 4 March 2026, second call 30 June 2026). The 2027/2028 call had not been published at the time of research; the dates given above are the last officially published ones and should not be presented to applicants as open. Based on the 2026/27 pattern (call signed 17 December 2025, applications from 17 December 2025), the 2027/28 call would be expected around December 2026, but this is an inference, not an official statement. 4) SEAT SPLIT: the call states 30 total places with 5 reserved for non-Europeans; the two admission pages state 25 (Europeans/equivalents) and 5 (non-Europeans) respectively. These are consistent, but note that unassigned non-EU quota places roll into the second session, so the effective EU/equivalent intake in the second call can exceed 25. 5) OUTDATED PUBLIC FIGURES: third-party and older UniTrento pages still cite '24 ECTS in physics'. The binding 2026/27 call and the current admission pages both state 30 CFU in Physics, amended on 17 February 2025. Use 30. 6) DOUBLE DEGREE / INTERUNIVERSITY: this is a genuine interuniversity double degree with the University of Innsbruck, jointly governed (the Selection Committee includes at least one Innsbruck professor; UniTrento and Innsbruck are joint data controllers). The University of Innsbruck runs its own admission pages for the same programme (uibk.ac.at); those Austrian-side procedures were not researched here - the UniTrento call is the route for applicants entering via Trento. 7) NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH: the separate single-institution LM-17 'Physics' master at UniTrento (Povo campus, Department of Physics), which has its own call, its own deadlines and no Innsbruck partnership. 8) SECOND-CALL RANKING: only a first-call interview notice PDF was visible on the archived pages; the second-call ranking/interview documents for 2026/27 were published after the last usable capture and could not be verified. 9) FEE LINKS: the two www.unitn.it tuition pages cited are confirmed to exist from official search-result listings but could not be opened directly (403), so the on-page fee tables were not read; the concrete non-EU fee figures given above come from Art. 6 of the call itself and are reliable. The EU/equivalent ISEE fee bands were not read from the fee page. 10) CLA TEST SESSIONS: the four English make-up test sessions are quoted from the archived EU/equivalents page and are specific to a.y. 2026/2027; they will change for the next cycle.

Amounts set in the 2026/27 call itself: non-European students pay a maximum of EUR 6,000.00 per academic year, reduced for the first year on merit - full exemption for a final score of 90-100/100, EUR 1,000 for 70-89.99, EUR 2,000 for 60-69.99, EUR 4,500 for 50-59.99; in the second year students who earned at least 42 ECTS by 10 August 2027 are fully exempt, with graduated fees (EUR 1,000 / 2,000 / 4,500 / 6,000) for lower credit counts. Europeans and equivalents pay fees calculated on the family economic situation (ISEE), with partial or total reduction. Enrolment confirmation fee: EUR 100.00, non-refundable, waived for candidates admitted through the second call who complete enrolment within 7 days of the admission notification. Non-European applicants at the top of the ranking scoring at least 70/100 may be awarded a UniTrento scholarship (number announced with the ranking); it is not compatible with MAECI, Universita a colori-Unicolor or Invest your Talent in Italy scholarships.
