Kampüs

TWO CAMPUSES, ONE PER YEAR. YEAR 1: Trento - School of International Studies, PAOLO PRODI BUILDING, via Tommaso Gar 14, 38122 Trento (TN), Italy (the location stated on the programme home page, 'LOCATION: Paolo Prodi Building', and on the 'Lessons, syllabus, exams' page). YEAR 2: Pisa - Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna (Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies), organised by its Faculty/Institute of Social Sciences. The programme home page states 'The fist year takes place at University of Trento and the second one at the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies in Pisa' [sic, typo in source]; the School of International Studies confirms 'Students spend the first year is based at the School of International Studies in Trento ... The second year at the Sant'Anna School in Pisa' [sic]. Lessons are in person only ('Lessons take place only in person'). No Rovereto or San Michele all'Adige component. Administrative contacts: Student Support Service for Economics and Management, Law and School of International Studies (helpline +39 0461 28 2166, Mon-Fri 9.30-10.30); MISS Admission Office miss.sis@unitn.it; further-information address in the call miss@sis.unitn.it. University legal address: via Calepina 14, 38122 Trento. WARNING: the University orientation portal orienta.unitn.it still carries the REVERSED, obsolete arrangement ('Le attivita' del primo anno si tengono a Pisa, mentre quelle del secondo a Trento') - see uncertainty_notes.

Kabul Tipi

RESTRICTED ACCESS / NUMERO PROGRAMMATO - a competitive public selection ('selezione pubblica per titoli ed eventuale colloquio' / 'public selection based on qualifications and (if appropriate) interview') run by UniTrento's School of International Studies under a single programme-specific Rectoral call. There is NO open access, NO TOLC, NO SAT, NO GRE/GMAT and no written entrance examination. TOTAL PLACES for a.y. 2026/2027: 35, of which 5 are reserved for non-Europeans residing outside Italy and 30 are for 'Europeans and equivalents'. Any of the 5 reserved non-European places left unassigned after the first round are transferred to the second (European) session, within the limits of the total. The selection is a scored dossier evaluation out of 100 (see entry_exam_or_test); candidates scoring 50/100 or more are 'suitable' (idonei), and two separate ranking lists - one per call - are published on the programme page. Ties are broken in favour of the younger candidate. TWO SEPARATE CALLS, one per applicant category (an applicant belongs to exactly one): first call for non-Europeans, second call for Europeans and equivalents - applicants must first check their category at www.unitn.it/en/check-your-category. In practice the European route is highly competitive: the published 2026/27 European/equivalent ranking lists 191 candidates, of whom 31 were admitted (30 to the first year plus 1 admitted directly to the second year) and 136 more were classified 'eligible not admitted'; the effective admission cut-off was 79.00/100 and the top score was 89.81/100. Transfers from another university or another master's programme are possible only after passing this same selection; admission directly to the SECOND year additionally requires available places and a credit-transfer pre-evaluation recognising at least 54 credits gained by 30 September 2026.

Resmî Eğitim Dili

CATEGORY (1) - FULLY ENGLISH-TAUGHT. This is not an English percorso inside an Italian degree and it is not a mixed 'English and Italian' programme. Evidence: (a) the official programme page corsi.unitn.it states in its 'in short' box 'LANGUAGE: English'; (b) the Overview page states 'Taught entirely in English, the programme consists of three semesters of lectures and exams, followed by a semester of international mobility for work placements or research abroad to support your dissertation'; (c) the University orientation portal states 'Durata e lingua del corso: 2 anni, in lingua inglese'; (d) the binding Italian admission call requires no Italian-language certificate of any kind at admission - unlike UniTrento's Italian-taught master's degrees, where Italian B2 is an absolute admission requirement - and the whole application dossier (CV, statement of purpose) must be written IN ENGLISH; (e) the Italian-language version of the programme site (corsi.unitn.it/it/international-security-studies) does not exist and returns a 404 'Pagina non trovata', i.e. the course site is published in English only. IN-PROGRAMME LANGUAGE OBLIGATIONS (these are graduation requirements, not admission requirements): the study plan carries compulsory language credits. For the cohort enrolled in 2024/2025 the official 'Language proficiency' page lists three items - the 6-credit SIS course 'English for International Studies' (48 hours, an English for Specific Purposes course for which international certificates are explicitly NOT accepted as equivalent), B2 in a SECOND foreign language, and 'A2 - Italian language (only non-Italian students)'. The page has not been updated for the 2025/2026 or 2026/2027 intakes, so whether the A2 Italian graduation requirement still applies to students entering in 2026/2027 could not be confirmed from an up-to-date official source; it is in any case an obligation to be discharged DURING the degree, with courses and tests provided by the University Language Centre (CLA), and it is not part of admission. For the earlier 2023/2024 cohort the requirements were different again (English B2 to B2plus, 3 ECTS, at SSSA; English C1, 3 ECTS, at Trento; a second foreign language at B2, 6 ECTS). Second-language teaching up to B2 is offered by UniTrento only for German, French and Spanish; for Russian, Arabic, Chinese and Portuguese there are no courses up to B2 and credit-bearing examinations must be arranged individually.

Academic year 2026/2027 - SECOND CALL, for 'Europeans and equivalents' (Italian citizens; EU citizens; citizens of Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, San Marino, Vatican City; and non-EU citizens permanently resident in Italy holding one of the listed stay permits or holding an Italian secondary-school diploma): applications open 1 APRIL 2026 and close 30 JUNE 2026 at 12:00 noon CET, submitted online at https://webapps.unitn.it/Apply/en/Web/GoHome/master/Miss2026-eu (login with SPID, CIE, a @unitn.it account, or a temporary @guest.unitn.it account - create the guest account at least 48 hours before the deadline). Non-refundable application fee EUR 30.00, payable by the same deadline; non-payment means automatic exclusion. Optional credit-transfer pre-evaluation request by 15 May 2026, results by 15 June 2026. Ranking list published by 31 JULY 2026 (the actual 2026/27 European ranking is dated Trento, 16 July 2026). Bachelor's degree must be obtained by 31 OCTOBER 2026 (this later graduation deadline also covers non-Europeans who graduate at an Italian university and hold a valid Italian study residence permit). Place confirmation: EUR 100.00 non-refundable enrolment-confirmation fee by the date stated in the ranking - WAIVED for candidates admitted through this second call who complete enrolment within 7 days of the admission notice. Final enrolment deadline at UniTrento: 31 OCTOBER 2026, on pain of forfeiture. Arrival in Trento: September 2026 (exact date notified by the University in the summer). NOTE: several external mirrors of this call (including Italian embassy news pages) quote a second-call deadline of 1 June 2026; both the April 2026 version of the English call PDF and the live programme page state 30 June 2026 - see uncertainty_notes.

Academic year 2026/2027 - FIRST CALL, for 'non-Europeans' (citizens of countries outside the EU/EEA/Switzerland/San Marino/Vatican who are not permanently resident in Italy, including non-European holders of an Italian study permit who do not permanently live in Italy), competing for the 5 reserved places: applications open 17 DECEMBER 2025 and close 4 MARCH 2026 at 12:00 noon CET. Same online portal and login methods, same EUR 30.00 non-refundable application fee (non-payment = exclusion). Ranking list published by 30 APRIL 2026, together with the number and allocation of the scholarships. Bachelor's degree must be obtained by 30 JUNE 2026 for non-Europeans graduating outside Italy. Admitted candidates pay the EUR 100.00 non-refundable enrolment-confirmation fee by the date stated in the ranking (this waiver-on-fast-enrolment applies only to the second call, so non-Europeans always pay it), then must complete Universitaly pre-enrolment at the competent Italian diplomatic representation - the page states 'within 2 weeks from confirmation' - which is compulsory in order to obtain the study visa. THE STUDY VISA MUST BE OBTAINED BY 30 SEPTEMBER 2026, on pain of forfeiture of admission. Enrolment at UniTrento must be completed by 31 OCTOBER 2026. Arrival in Trento: September 2026. Optional credit-transfer pre-evaluation request by 15 May 2026, results by 15 June 2026. At the time of research (31 August 2026) the non-European application was marked 'Application is closed' and the 2027/2028 call had not yet been published (UniTrento normally publishes it in mid-December).

Kabul koşulları

Akademik geçmiş

PLACES (a.y. 2026/2027): 35 in total - 30 for Europeans and equivalents, 5 reserved for non-Europeans residing outside Italy; unassigned reserved places roll over to the European session. QUALIFICATION: a bachelor's degree ('laurea di primo livello') or higher awarded in Italy, or a qualification obtained abroad and recognised as suitable; suitability is assessed by the Admissions Committee from the applicant's study curriculum, and UniTrento reserves the right to require a CIMEA Statement of Verification and/or Statement of Comparability to check the authenticity of an international qualification. CURRICULAR CONTENT REQUIREMENT: the previous degree must include the equivalent of AT LEAST 60 CREDITS from AT LEAST TWO of the following disciplinary areas - History and Philosophy ('storico e filosofico'), Economics, Law, Political Science, Sociology, Foreign Languages ('linguistico'). GRADE THRESHOLD: weighted average mark of at least 24/30 in the Italian scale, or the equivalent foreign grade - the programme pages gloss this as 'Minimum GPA: 24 out of 30 for Italian degree courses, or equivalent grade for international degrees (i.e. 75%)'. PERSONAL BACKGROUND: 'a personal background with suitable professional vocational and academic experience appropriate to the interdisciplinary nature of the degree course' - assessed inside the 0-100 score rather than as a pass/fail gate. FINAL-YEAR (NOT YET GRADUATED) APPLICANTS ARE ACCEPTED, provided the bachelor's degree is actually obtained by 30 June 2026 for non-Europeans, or by 31 October 2026 for Europeans and equivalents and for non-Europeans graduating at an Italian university with a valid Italian study permit. ADMISSION TO THE SECOND YEAR / TRANSFERS: possible only after passing the same selection, subject to available places and to a credit-transfer pre-evaluation recognising at least 54 credits obtained by 30 September 2026; the pre-evaluation form must be submitted by 15 May 2026 and results are issued by 15 June 2026 (one candidate was in fact 'admitted to the second year' in the 2026/27 European ranking). Enrolment is in every case conditional on a positive evaluation of the eligibility and authenticity of the university degree. COMPETITIVENESS (published 2026/27 European/equivalent ranking, 16 July 2026): 191 ranked applicants; ranks 1-31 admitted; lowest admitted score 79.00/100; ranks 32-167 'eligible not admitted' (scores 78.96 down to 50.17); ranks 168-191 'not admitted' with no score, i.e. rejected on requirements.

Dil yeterliliği
  • ENGLISH AT ADMISSION - CEFR B2 minimum, required of every applicant in both categories, and it must be proven by ONE OF THREE named international certificates only, issued NOT EARLIER THAN MARCH 2024: (i) IELTS with no skill lower than 5.5
  • (ii) TOEFL internet-based test (or the equivalent TOEFL paper-based / computer-based tests) with no skill lower than 21
  • (iii) Cambridge B2 First with no skill lower than 165. The IELTS Indicator and the TOEFL Home Edition are expressly accepted. WAIVER: 'Candidates who have gained their degree (Bachelor's or Master's) from a university where tuition is entirely in English are not required to submit an English Language certificate' - in that case a substitutive declaration replaces the certificate. There is no UniTrento/CLA English test route at admission for this programme and no post-admission make-up for the English requirement. SECOND FOREIGN LANGUAGE AT ADMISSION - a genuine, additional admission requirement that is easy to miss: 'basic knowledge of a second foreign language, other than Italian', chosen from a CLOSED LIST of seven - Arabic, Chinese, French, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, German. The binding Italian text specifies the level as A2 ('conoscenza di base (livello A2) di una seconda lingua straniera'); the English translation says only 'basic knowledge'. It is evidenced by a self-declaration signed by the candidate inside the online application (document h), not by a certificate. ITALIAN AT ADMISSION - NOT REQUIRED. No Italian certificate, no CILS/CELI/PLIDA/ROMA3, no CISIA Italian L2 test is requested at any point of this call, and Italian is explicitly excluded from the second-foreign-language list. This is the decisive practical difference from UniTrento's Italian-taught master's degrees. DURING THE DEGREE (graduation, not admission, requirements): compulsory language activities in the study plan - for the 2024/2025 cohort, the 6-credit SIS course 'English for International Studies' (48 hours; an English for Specific Purposes course, so international certificates cannot be recognised as equivalent), B2 in the second foreign language, and 'A2 - Italian language (only non-Italian students)'. Second-language competence is certified by the 'prova di competenza linguistica' at the University Language Centre (CLA), in four components - Listening, Reading and Writing as computer-based tests (all three must be passed before enrolling for the Oral) and then the Oral. International certificates recognised by the CLA are listed on the CLA website and must be no more than three years older than the start of the first academic year; recognition is requested through the online form at https://webapps.unitn.it/Apply/en/Web/Home/mos, open each year from the end of September to the end of June. Alternatively, a high-school diploma or a bachelor's/master's degree taken entirely in the second language can be presented to the Delegate for Foreign Languages and to the MISS Secretariat. These in-programme rules are quoted from the official 'Language proficiency' page as last published for the 2024/2025 intake (page timestamp 5 June 2025) and have not been restated for the 2026/2027 intake.
Sınav / değerlendirme
  • NO standardised entrance test and NO written admission examination (no TOLC, no CEnT, no SAT, no GRE/GMAT). Selection is a documentary evaluation of the application dossier by an Admissions Committee appointed by Rectoral Decree and composed of at least three members of the teaching staff of the School of International Studies (UniTrento) and the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna (Pisa); the Committee may meet online. Scoring is out of 100 on three criteria (Art. 4 of the call): (1) 'Academic background and reference letter' / 'Curriculum vitae et studiorum e lettere di referenza' - max 60 points, taking into account the bachelor's final mark, the weighted average of exam marks, other academic and training activities, publications, professional, internship and voluntary experience, knowledge of foreign languages and the reference letters
  • (2) 'Statement of purpose' - max 15 points, assessed on clarity, strength of motivation, relevance/specificity to this programme, ability shown in English, and originality
  • (3) 'Relevance of previous studies and experience to the course objectives' - max 25 points, covering both the previous degree(s) and extracurricular activities (work placements, summer schools, jobs). Minimum suitability score: 50/100. AN INTERVIEW IS POSSIBLE BUT NOT ROUTINE: 'Applicants might be invited to interview (in person or conference call), only if the Selection Committee requires to collect further information on applicants' academic skills and personal competencies' - the Italian binding text frames it as a remedy for when the submitted documents do not allow an adequate evaluation. English proficiency is NOT tested by the University: it is proven by an external certificate (or waived, see language_requirements). The second foreign language is NOT tested at admission: it is proven by the candidate's own signed declaration.

Hazırlanacak belgeler

    • EXHAUSTIVE LIST, identical for both categories, quoted from Art. 3.4 of the 2026/2027 call (all uploaded inside the online application): (a) a copy of the PASSPORT - personal-information pages only - for non-EU citizens, or a copy of the IDENTITY CARD for candidates who do not log in with a digital identity (SPID/CIE)
    • (b) a copy of the BACHELOR'S DEGREE CERTIFICATE, or a certificate of enrolment stating the expected graduation date (Italian students or students enrolled at an Italian university may instead submit a self-declaration under Articles 46-47 of DPR 445/2000
    • UniTrento students and graduates need not attach the certificate at all)

  • 1) MOST IMPORTANT PRACTICAL POINT FOR A NON-EU (e.g. Turkish) APPLICANT: this is one of the very few UniTrento master's degrees with a genuinely tiny non-European quota - 5 places out of 35 - and a single, early, non-extendable window (17 December 2025 to 4 March 2026, 12:00 CET). A non-European resident outside Italy cannot use the April-June European window, and vice versa; the categories are mutually exclusive and must be checked at www.unitn.it/en/check-your-category. The competition is severe even on the larger European route: 191 ranked candidates for 30 first-year places in 2026/27, with an admission cut-off of 79.00/100. 2) THE SECOND FOREIGN LANGUAGE IS AN EASILY MISSED ADMISSION REQUIREMENT. Besides English B2, every applicant must have at least basic (A2, per the binding Italian text) knowledge of one of exactly seven languages - Arabic, Chinese, French, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, German - and Italian is expressly excluded. It is evidenced by the candidate's own declaration inside the application, so no certificate is needed, but an application without document (h) is incomplete. Note the trap for Turkish applicants: Turkish is not on the list and does not count. 3) ENGLISH CERTIFICATE RULES ARE UNUSUALLY NARROW. Only IELTS (no skill under 5.5), TOEFL iBT/PBT/CBT equivalents (no skill under 21) and Cambridge B2 First (no skill under 165) are accepted, and the certificate must be dated MARCH 2024 OR LATER for the 2026/27 intake. Duolingo, PTE, TOEIC, Trinity and national school-leaving certificates are not listed. The only waiver is a bachelor's or master's degree obtained at a university where teaching is entirely in English. There is no CLA make-up test route at admission for this programme. 4) ITALIAN IS NOT REQUIRED FOR ADMISSION - a genuine difference from UniTrento's Italian-taught master's degrees. However, the official 'Language proficiency' page lists 'A2 - Italian language (only non-Italian students)' among the in-programme language requirements for the 2024/2025 cohort. That page was last published on 5 June 2025 and has not been updated for the 2025/26 or 2026/27 intakes, so whether the A2 Italian graduation requirement still applies to a 2026/2027 entrant is [uncertain]; it is in any case discharged during the degree at the CLA, not at admission. 5) A REAL CONTRADICTION BETWEEN OFFICIAL UNITN SOURCES ON WHICH CITY COMES FIRST. The University orientation portal orienta.unitn.it (entry 125, page created 2016 and never revised) states 'Le attivita' del primo anno si tengono a Pisa, mentre quelle del secondo a Trento' - the exact opposite of the current arrangement. The obsolete order is corroborated as historically true by the same site's 'Language proficiency' page, which for the 2023/2024 cohort still requires 'English from B2 to B2plus ... during the first year AT SSSA' and 'English C1 ... during the second year AT TRENTO'. The sequence was therefore swapped at some point after 2023/24, and all current sources - the programme home page, the Overview page and the School of International Studies' own 'Master's Degrees' page - agree on TRENTO FIRST, PISA SECOND, which is also what the research brief states. The orienta entry should be disregarded on this point; it also still links a dead admission URL (/program/admission-and-enrollment). 6) A SECOND, SMALLER CONTRADICTION ON THE INTERNAL STRUCTURE OF THE TWO YEARS. The corsi.unitn.it Overview says the programme is 'three semesters of lectures and exams, followed by a semester of international mobility' (i.e. the mobility semester is the fourth, in the Pisa year), while the School of International Studies pages describe the mobility as taking place in the second semester of the FIRST year in Trento in one passage and 'during the second year' in another. The Overview page is the more recently maintained source (February 2026); the SIS text is older marketing copy. This does not affect admission. 7) CONFLICTING SECOND-CALL DEADLINE IN SECONDARY SOURCES. Italian embassy and consulate news pages published in February 2026 announced the European window as '1 April to 1 June 2026'. Both the English call PDF republished on 29 April 2026 and the live programme page (July 2026) state 30 JUNE 2026 at 12:00 CET, and the English PDF's filename ends in '-1', indicating a revised upload. The later official documents were preferred; applicants for future years must re-read the new call rather than assume either date. 8) TWO DIFFERENT CONTACT ADDRESSES ARE PRINTED IN THE SAME CALL: miss@sis.unitn.it (Art. 3.3 and Art. 10 of both versions, and for sending a reference letter in the Italian version) and miss.sis@unitn.it (Art. 5 of the English version, the reference-letter address in the English version, and the address given on the programme pages and on the ranking list). Both appear to be live; the programme pages consistently use miss.sis@unitn.it as the Admission Office address. 9) THE SCORING WEIGHTS DIFFER FROM THOSE CIRCULATING ONLINE. Some third-party and cached UniTrento pages describe the criteria as 'academic background and reference letter up to 40, relevance up to 35, statement of purpose up to 25'. The 2026/2027 call - both language versions - sets 60 / 15 / 25. The call was used. 10) NOT VERIFIED: the non-European ranking list for 2026/27 and the official announcement of the number and value of the non-European scholarships could not be retrieved from a UniTrento page (the non-European admission page renders its document links as empty placeholders in the retrieval method used). The figure of 2 scholarships of EUR 7,200 per year for MISS in 2026/2027 comes from Italian diplomatic-mission news pages, which are official Italian government sources but are outside the UniTrento domain scope of this research, and is flagged [uncertain] in tuition_or_fees_link. Exact ISEE-banded tuition amounts for EU/equivalent students were likewise not retrieved; only the official page URLs are reported. 11) NO 2027/2028 CALL EXISTED AT THE TIME OF RESEARCH (31 August 2026). The most recent official admission year is 2026/2027, whose European enrolment window was still running (enrolment deadline 31 October 2026). The 2027/2028 call is expected around mid-December 2026, following the pattern of the 17 December 2025 decree. 12) SOURCE ACCESS METHOD. corsi.unitn.it, www.unitn.it and www.santannapisa.it are behind an AWS WAF / Anubis challenge and returned HTTP 405 or an access-denied page to every direct request; the Internet Archive holds no copy of the 2026/2027 call PDFs. All corsi.unitn.it and www.unitn.it content quoted above (HTML pages and the three PDFs - Italian call, English call, EU ranking - plus the LM-52 quality sheet) was therefore retrieved through a text-extraction proxy that fetches the LIVE official URLs, so the content is current as of 31 August 2026 rather than archived; each page's own 'Published Time' stamp is reported alongside the quotes. www.sis.unitn.it and orienta.unitn.it were also read through the same route. Because the joint partner's site (santannapisa.it) could not be read, the Pisa-year details reported here rest entirely on UniTrento sources.

AMOUNTS STATED VERBATIM IN THE 2026/2027 CALL: maximum EUR 10,000.00 per academic year for non-Europeans. FIRST YEAR, reduced by admission score: 90/100-100/100 = full tuition waiver; 70/100-89.9/100 = EUR 1,000; 60/100-69.9/100 = EUR 3,000; 50/100-59.9/100 = EUR 6,500. SECOND YEAR, set by credits earned by 10 August 2027 (June-July exam session): 42 CFU or more = full waiver; 36-41 CFU = EUR 1,000; 24-35 CFU = EUR 3,000; 6-23 CFU = EUR 6,500; fewer than 6 CFU = EUR 10,000. Beyond the standard duration (fee page, Group B): 84+ credits = exemption for the first extra year only, then EUR 1,000/year; 72-83 = EUR 1,000; 48-71 = EUR 3,000; 12-47 = EUR 6,500; under 12 = EUR 10,000. EUROPEANS AND EQUIVALENTS - income-tested: https://www.unitn.it/en/study/fees-scholarships-accommodation/tuition-fees/eu-and-related-countries ; the call states the amount 'can be partially or totally reduced according to the economic situation of the student's family (ISEE)'. SCHOLARSHIPS - https://www.unitn.it/en/node/1328 (UniTrento scholarships page; for EU/equivalents also https://www.unitn.it/en/study/fees-scholarships-accommodation/scholarships-and-awards/scholarships-housing-and-fee-waivers). For non-Europeans there is NO separate scholarship application: UniTrento awards scholarships to the top-scored non-European applicants provided they score at least 90/100; the number and allocation are announced together with the ranking; holders are also exempt from tuition fees; the scholarship is a partial contribution to mobility/living costs, paid only after actual arrival in Italy, renewable for the second year subject to resources and to the merit requirements set annually by the University, and is NOT compatible with MAECI, Universita' a colori-Unicolor or 'Invest your Talent in Italy' scholarships. [uncertain] Several Italian diplomatic missions announced that for a.y. 2026/2027 UniTrento offered 2 scholarships for MISS worth EUR 7,200 per year; that figure appears on Italian embassy/consulate news pages (esteri.it), not on a UniTrento page reachable for this research, and the official ranking-day announcement was not retrieved. ACCOMMODATION: non-European students admitted to a programme are entitled to guaranteed on-campus accommodation against rent - https://www.operauni.tn.it/en/accomodations/opera-on-campus-accomodation . The call also advises applicants to check the cost of living in Trento.
