1) ACCESS LIMITATION AND METHOD: corsi.unitn.it, www.unitn.it and offertaformativa.unitn.it sit behind a WAF that returns HTTP 405 to WebFetch and to curl with any header set, and offertaformativa.unitn.it additionally returned HTTP 503 for the course-programme sub-page. Three routes were used instead: (a) Internet Archive snapshots fetched with the raw 'id_' prefix (course home 20260511114431, non-EU admission 20260419174040, EU admission 20260410145131, documents page 20260415134626); (b) a public text-extraction reader proxy, which successfully returned the live corsi.unitn.it and www.unitn.it HTML and the official PDFs as text; (c) targeted web search for corroboration. Raw PDF bytes could not be downloaded through any of three CORS proxies, so the PDFs were read as proxy-extracted text rather than with a local PDF parser. Every fact above was cross-checked against at least two of these routes wherever possible, and the key language statement was verified in BOTH the binding Italian bando and the English courtesy translation.
2) PROGRAMME NAME - TWO OFFICIAL ENGLISH RENDERINGS: the research brief and the ministerial class use 'Environmental and Land Engineering', which is the literal translation of 'Ingegneria per l'ambiente e il territorio' and is the wording used in the descriptive text on the UniTrento course page ('the Environmental and Land Engineering MSc'). However, the page title, the browser title, the university's master's-degree catalogue, the URL slug (environmental-engineering-master) and the 2026/27 admission call all use the shorter 'Environmental Engineering'. These are the same programme, but a search for either name alone will miss half the official sources, and 'Environmental Engineering' also collides with similarly named programmes at other Italian universities.
3) THE MIXED-LANGUAGE FLAG IN THE BRIEF IS CONFIRMED BUT DOES NOT DISQUALIFY THE PROGRAMME: the brief warned that the official list shows this as an Italian programme. That is half correct - UniTrento formally classifies it as 'English Italian', not as English-only, and the Programme Regulations allow any course to be taught in either language. But the binding admission call explicitly guarantees that an entirely English study track can be followed, the whole first year is labelled 'lingua inglese' in the Manifesto, three of the four second-year curricula are labelled 'lingua inglese', and UniTrento itself lists 'Environmental Engineering' among its 'Master's degrees in English' for the purposes of the non-EU tuition-fee scale and runs the non-EU admissions through its 'Degree Courses in English' application portal. The programme therefore qualifies as English-taught for a student who avoids Curriculum I.
4) THE ONE CURRICULUM TO AVOID: Curriculum I 'Water Resources and Soil Protection' (called 'Risorse idriche e protezione del territorio / Water Resources and Land Protection' in the Manifesto - note the Soil/Land inconsistency between the course page and the Manifesto) is the mixed-language track and contains at least 24 ECTS of compulsory Italian-taught teaching. A non-Italian speaker choosing it would additionally need Italian at B2 for admission. The choice of curriculum is declared at enrolment and can be changed in later years.
5) ITALIAN A1 GRADUATION CREDIT - SCOPE NOT FULLY RESOLVED: the Programme Regulations state generally that Italian proficiency is verified for non-native speakers before the degree is awarded and that 3 ECTS are attached to it, which reads as applying to all students of the programme. In the Manifesto tables the matching footnote ('Level A1 CEFR - 3 ECTS/CFU - type F') is printed against the 'Altre attivita / Other Activities' row of one curriculum only (Modelling and Simulation of Environmental Systems) rather than against all four. Because the PDF had to be read through a text-extraction proxy that flattens the table layout, it could not be established with certainty whether the footnote is meant to apply to that curriculum alone or to every curriculum. The safe reading, consistent with the Regulations, is that it applies to all international students. Either way it is an A1-level proficiency credit, not an Italian-taught subject.
6) NON-EU PLACES - THE 45 vs 15 DISCREPANCY IS REAL AND EXPLAINED: the admission call says 45 places, the course website says 15. Both are correct: 45 is the total non-EU allocation, 30 of which are ring-fenced for students selected through the EMJM EESIC Erasmus Mundus Joint Master (a separate application procedure run by the EESIC consortium of UniTrento, Instituto Superior Tecnico Lisbon and Universitat Politecnica de Valencia, with its own calendar, its own EUR 8,000/year fee for non-scholarship students and its own Erasmus Mundus scholarships of EUR 1,400/month). Only the remaining 15 are contestable through the ordinary UniTrento non-EU call described here. Applicants interested in the EESIC route must apply separately at projects.unitn.it/eesic - that procedure was not researched in detail and its deadlines differ.
7) DEADLINE ASYMMETRY IS EXTREME: non-EU applicants must apply by 4 March 2026 in a single window with no second session, while EU/equivalent applicants have until 27 November 2026. A non-EU candidate who misses 4 March 2026 has no fallback for 2026/2027 through this call. The 27 November 2026 EU date was found only on the Italian-language admission page (the English page carries the notice 'The content of this page is available in Italian only'), so it has no official English-language statement; it is nonetheless the same university-wide November deadline that recurs across UniTrento master's programmes.
8) EU FEES NOT DETAILED: the score-based fee scale (up to EUR 6,000/year, reduced or waived by admission score) applies to non-EU citizens living abroad. EU and equivalent students instead pay UniTrento's ordinary income-related (ISEE-based) contribution, whose brackets were not retrieved for this programme; the general fees hub is linked in tuition_or_fees_link. The exact number of scholarships reserved for non-EU students in 2026/27 is not published in advance - the call states it is disclosed only when the ranking is published.
9) SECOND-YEAR CURRICULA ARE NEW: the Manifesto heading reads 'II ANNO - CURRICULA attivi dal 2026/27', i.e. the four curricula in their current form become active in the second year from 2026/27 under Ordinamento/Regolamento 2025, while the parallel 2025/26 second-year Manifesto still runs the previous Regolamento 2024 structure and marks its first year as 'disattivato'. The curriculum content and the language labelling are identical between the two documents, but the offering could still be adjusted for 2026/27 and no 2026/2027 Manifesto degli studi had been published at the time of research - the documents page still listed only the 2025/2026 and earlier Manifestos.
