QUALIFICATION: a bachelor's degree of at least 3 years. Standard route - an Italian bachelor's degree in class L-7 'Civil and Environmental Engineering' (ex D.M. 270/04) or the corresponding class 8 (ex D.M. 509/99), or a qualification obtained abroad recognised as valid and equivalent. ALTERNATIVE ROUTE (degree in a different class, an old-system Italian diploma awarded before ECTS, or a foreign qualification): the candidate must have earned minimum credits in the following scientific-disciplinary sectors (SSD): at least 24 ECTS across MAT/03 Geometry, MAT/05 Mathematical Analysis, MAT/06 Probability and Statistics, MAT/07 Mathematical Physics, MAT/08 Numerical Analysis; at least 18 ECTS across CHIM/06 Organic Chemistry, CHIM/07 Chemical Foundations of Technologies, FIS/01 Experimental Physics, FIS/03 Physics of Matter, ING-IND/10 Thermal Engineering and Industrial Energy Systems, ING-IND/11 Building Physics and Building Energy Systems, ING-IND/22 Materials Science and Technology; at least 30 ECTS across ICAR/01 Hydraulics, ICAR/02 Hydraulic Structures, Maritime Engineering and Hydrology, ICAR/03 Sanitary and Environmental Engineering, ICAR/06 Surveying and Mapping, ICAR/07 Geotechnics; at least 12 ECTS across ICAR/08 Structural Mechanics and ICAR/09 Structural Engineering. A bachelor's degree in the Civil-Environmental Engineering field that does not match the above, or another foreign qualification, may still be accepted: eligibility is assessed by the Selection Committee (non-EU) or by the Collegio di Area Didattica (EU/equivalent) on the basis of the candidate's curriculum studiorum and of the equivalence between the exams taken, their credits and the SSD sectors. MINIMUM GRADE: a credit-weighted average of at least 22.00/30 (or equivalent) in the bachelor's exams. English above the required B2, or an officially recognised Italian language certificate, is worth up to 5 extra points in the non-EU ranking. (b) ITALIAN A1 AS A GRADUATION REQUIREMENT: the Programme Regulations state that for students whose mother tongue is not Italian, knowledge of Italian will be verified before the degree is awarded, and that the 3 ECTS for the Italian language test may be granted directly to students holding a suitable certificate recognised by the Department or by the CLA, or otherwise earned at the CLA under arrangements agreed with the Department; the Manifesto degli studi specifies the level as A1 CEFR ('International students are required to demonstrate an adequate level of competence of the Italian Language (Level A1 CEFR - 3 ECTS/CFU - type F)').
