Derece Sınıfı

LM-17

Kabul Tipi

Restricted / selective admission based on evaluation of qualifications and, where required, an oral interview. There is no TOLC and no numero programmato national test. Two separate procedures exist: (1) EU citizens and equivalents (plus non-EU citizens already legally residing in Italy) apply through the departmental admission call with rolling application sessions; admission is granted once curricular requirements are met, with an interview to verify personal preparation unless the applicant qualifies for exemption. (2) Non-EU citizens living outside Italy apply through a separate public selection call ('public selection based on qualifications and, if appropriate, interview') with a fixed quota of places and a single early deadline.

Resmî Eğitim Dili

Fully English. The programme is taught entirely in English; the official language of the course is English and no Italian-language track (percorso) is offered for this degree. Knowledge of English at CEFR B2 or higher is an admission requirement for every applicant (EU and non-EU alike).

AB / AEA adayları

Academic year 2026/2027: rolling admission sessions running from June 2026, with the online 'Request for admission' open until 12 November 2026; Bachelor's degree completion and enrolment must be finalised by 31 October 2026 for Europeans/equivalents (and for non-Europeans graduating in Italy with a valid study permit). Exact intermediate session cut-off dates are published in the departmental admission call for 2026/27.

AB / AEA dışı adaylar

Academic year 2026/2027: 4 March 2026 for non-European citizens residing abroad (single early call); the ranking list of admitted candidates and scholarship assignments is published by 25 May 2026. Admitted candidates must then pre-enrol on Universitaly at the Italian diplomatic mission in their country and apply for a study visa; enrolment is completed over the summer and no later than 31 October, with arrival in Trento at the start of September.

Kabul koşulları

Akademik geçmiş

Degree requirement: a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent university qualification) of at least three years, in Physics or a Physics-related field, awarded by an internationally recognised university; foreign qualifications must be recognised as suitable. Curricular requirements: at least 84 ECTS in Mathematics and Physics scientific-disciplinary fields combined (MAT/* + FIS/*), of which at least 24 ECTS in the Mathematics area (MAT/*) and at least 54 ECTS in the Physics area (FIS/*). Personal preparation: verified by an interview with a committee appointed annually by the Department of Physics. Interview exemption: applicants who have earned at least 30 ECTS in MAT/* fields and at least 90 ECTS in FIS/* fields in their first-cycle degree may be exempted from the interview (a Bachelor final mark of at least 95/110 is also cited as part of the exemption profile) . Non-EU quota: the dedicated public selection for non-European citizens residing abroad reserves a fixed number of places - 10 places in the published 2025/2026 call; the 2026/2027 non-EU call is expected to keep the same order of magnitude . Scoring in the non-EU selection: qualifications (Bachelor's degree, English language, curriculum vitae) are scored first; candidates scoring at least 25/100 are admitted to the interview, candidates below 25 are declared unsuitable; the interview assesses the candidate's personal preparation in Physics for up to 40 points; a final score of at least 50/100 is required to be declared eligible; top-scoring non-EU applicants with at least 90/100 are awarded University of Trento scholarships / tuition fee exemptions. EU/equivalent applicants and non-EU applicants graduating in Italy with a valid residence permit must have completed their Bachelor's degree by 31 October 2026.

Dil yeterliliği
  • English at CEFR level B2 or higher is mandatory for all applicants. Accepted proofs: (a) a language certificate recognised by the University of Trento (standard UniTrento list, e.g. IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge, TOEIC)
  • (b) having passed a university exam certifying English at B2 level as part of the Bachelor's degree programme
  • (c) an official written statement issued by the home university certifying that the degree programme was taught/delivered in English, or a self-declaration of having graduated in an English-speaking country
Sınav / değerlendirme

No TOLC and no SAT. Selection is by evaluation of qualifications (Bachelor's degree and marks, curriculum vitae, English proficiency) followed, where required, by an oral interview with a committee appointed by the Department of Physics assessing personal preparation in Physics (worth up to 40 points in the non-EU selection). Interviews for non-EU applicants are conducted remotely (online oral test) after publication of the list of candidates admitted to the oral test. EU/equivalent applicants receive the interview date, time, place and committee composition by e-mail from Student Support; applicants meeting the higher ECTS thresholds (>=30 ECTS MAT/*, >=90 ECTS FIS/*) may be exempted from the interview. A separate English test at the CLA applies only to candidates who cannot otherwise document B2 English.

  • 1) ACCESS LIMITATION: corsi.unitn.it and www.unitn.it are behind a WAF/bot-protection layer (HTTP 405 / 403 on direct fetch; the browser is served a 'Human Verification' challenge that was deliberately not bypassed). All corsi.unitn.it content above was reconstructed from search-engine indexed page content and PDF snippets, not from a direct read of the live page, so exact wording and any post-publication amendment could not be verified first-hand. webapps.unitn.it (Apply portal) is reachable but at the time of checking showed no open application windows for this call type, so live dates could not be cross-checked there. 2) NON-EU DEADLINE: 4 March 2026 for 2026/2027 appears consistently in indexed content, but the exact hour (usually 12:00 CET) and whether a second non-EU session was later opened could not be confirmed; the sibling programme Environmental Meteorology and Climate Physics did have a second 2026/27 call (21 April - 30 June), so a supplementary Physics session cannot be ruled out. 3) NON-EU QUOTA: the '10 places' figure is confirmed for the 2025/2026 call; the 2026/2027 figure was not directly readable. 4) EU SESSIONS: the EU/equivalents procedure is described as rolling from June 2026 to 12 November 2026, but the individual session cut-off dates (and the apparent tension between an application window open to 12 November and an enrolment/graduation deadline of 31 October) could not be resolved from indexed snippets. 5) CALL PDF MAPPING: two 2026/27 PDFs exist - 'call-admission-math-physics-26-27_eng.pdf' (joint Mathematics + Physics departmental call, understood to cover EU/equivalents) and 'admission-call-master-physics-26-27.pdf' (understood to be the non-EU public selection). The assignment of each PDF to its applicant category is inferred from titles and snippet content, not directly verified. 6) INTERVIEW-EXEMPTION MARK: the additional condition of a Bachelor final mark of at least 95/110 for interview exemption appears in indexed content but is not confirmed against the 2026/27 call text. 7) REQUIRED DOCUMENTS: motivation letter and reference letters are not listed as mandatory in the indexed call text, but their absence could not be positively confirmed for the 2026/27 edition. 8) NO MIXED-LANGUAGE OR JOINT-DEGREE ISSUE: this is a single-institution, fully English-taught LM-17; it should not be confused with the double-degree LM-17 'Environmental Meteorology and Climate Physics' run with the University of Innsbruck, which is a separate programme with its own call and deadlines.
