Trento (city centre). Department of Sociology and Social Research - 'Sociology Building', Via Giuseppe Verdi 26, 38122 Trento. Orienta UniTrento gives the same location ('Sede: Dipartimento di Sociologia e Ricerca Sociale, Trento'). The programme is not taught in Rovereto or on the Povo science campus. Attendance is in person: the admission pages state 'Lessons take place only in person' and that admitted students must be in Trento for the start of classes.

Kabul Tipi
Two distinct routes, depending on the applicant's category. (1) EUROPEANS AND EQUIVALENTS (Italian citizens, EU citizens, citizens of Norway/Iceland/Liechtenstein/Switzerland/San Marino/Vatican, and non-EU citizens permanently resident in Italy holding a qualifying stay permit or holding an Italian secondary school diploma): OPEN / FREE ACCESS with verification of requirements - the course fact box says 'ACCESS: Free', the admission page says 'The programme is free access to European citizens and equivalents', and Orienta says 'accesso libero, con verifica dei requisiti'. There is no numero programmato, no TOLC, no SAT and no ranking for this category; an admission interview with the President of the programme is triggered only if the Bachelor's final grade is below 90/110 (or equivalent, e.g. below 3/4). Application is made through the UniTrento Apply portal, entry code RVRCALMSoc26 - the same Apply entry is shared with the other Department of Sociology master's degrees (Global Affairs, Geopolitics and Sustainability - GAGS - uses the identical link and identical 17 April to 11 December 2026 window), which is why the closing date is common to SSR/GAGS/OST. (2) NON-EUROPEANS living outside Italy: RESTRICTED ACCESS - a separate public selection call ('selection call based on academic curriculum and merit') with only 6 places, scored 0-100 on qualifications, with an interview only at the Committee's discretion. Apply portal entry code Socio2026nonEU; application fee EUR 30.00. Both Apply entries require login with SPID, CIE, or a UniTrento / @guest.unitn.it account.
Resmî Eğitim Dili
Fully English. The UniTrento course fact box lists 'LANGUAGE: English' and the programme page states that 'The Master's programme is completely held in English'; the overview page repeats that 'all courses are taught in English'. Orienta UniTrento describes the course as '2 anni, in lingua inglese'. There is no Italian-taught percorso, no mixed 'English and Italian' track, and no Italian language certificate is required for admission or enrolment. Italian relevance is limited to daily life and to the fact that the binding admission call, the programme regulations (regolamento didattico) and the departmental student handbook ('Guida SRS') are published only in Italian. Note that the study plan itself contains zero-credit curricular items 'Language proficiency - English (C1)' and 'Language proficiency - English (C2)' as an alternative to a 3-credit academic-writing seminar, i.e. English is also an internal progression requirement, not only an entry requirement.

Academic year 2026/2027 (current, still open at the date of research): admission application for Europeans and Equivalents runs 'from 17 April to 11 December 2026'; the programme homepage banner states 'Application request for 2026/2027 is open until December 11 2026'. This is the joint closing date shared with the other Department of Sociology master's programmes on the same Apply entry (RVRCALMSoc26). Applicants may apply before graduating or before meeting all requirements; the outcome is notified by email. The subsequent enrolment request deadline for a.y. 2026/2027 is 21 December 2026, and after receiving the matriculation number the yearly enrolment must be activated within 7 days. Related graduation deadline: by 31 October 2026 for Europeans and equivalents (and for non-Europeans graduating in Italy with a valid study permit). Missing curricular requirements can be made up through 'Single courses for Master's Degrees' before the registration deadline; a missing English B2 can be made up at the CLA (see language_requirements).

Academic year 2026/2027: applications between 17 December 2025 and 4 March 2026 at 12:00 CET (noon Italian time) - this window has now closed. Related 2026/2027 dates: optional credit-transfer pre-evaluation request by 15 February 2026 (results by 15 March 2026); ranking list published by 30 April 2026 (actually published 29 April 2026); place confirmation within 7 days of the admission notice (confirmation fee EUR 100.00)
Universitaly pre-enrolment within 2 weeks of confirmation; visa before enrolment
Bachelor's degree graduation by 30 June 2026 for non-Europeans graduating outside Italy; enrolment at UniTrento by the deadline communicated by UniTrento staff. The equivalent call for a.y. 2027/2028 had not been published at the date of this research (31 August 2026); the admission page states such calls are 'usually open from December to March', so a mid-December 2026 opening with an early-March 2027 deadline is the expected pattern but is not officially confirmed.

Akademik geçmiş
DEGREE: a Bachelor's degree (or higher) of at least three years awarded in Italy, or a foreign qualification recognised as equivalent. Final-year students may apply before graduating; for the 2026/2027 non-EU call the degree had to be obtained before 30 June 2026 (before 31 October 2026 for Europeans and equivalents and for non-Europeans graduating in Italy with a valid study permit). GRADE THRESHOLD: the final Bachelor's mark must be at least 90/110 for Italian qualifications, or an equivalent mark for international qualifications (the pages give 3/4 as an example equivalence). For Europeans and equivalents a lower mark does not exclude the candidate but triggers a mandatory admission interview with the President of the programme; for non-Europeans the 90/110-or-equivalent threshold is written into the call as part of the admission requirement. CURRICULAR (ECTS) REQUIREMENT: at least 40 ECTS of the previous degree must fall in the relevant disciplinary areas. The binding call words this as 40 ECTS referring to the sociological area and to 'core disciplines', of which at least 12 ECTS must be in the sociological area (SPS/07, SPS/08, SPS/09, SPS/10, SPS/11, SPS/12 - in the new Italian coding GSPS-05/A, GSPS-06/A, GSPS-08/A, GSPS-08/B, GSPS-07/A, GSPS-07/B) and at least 12 ECTS in the core disciplines (M-DEA/01, SECS-S/04, SECS-S/05, SECS-P/01, SECS-P/02, SECS-P/03, SECS-P/10, M-GGR/02, IUS/07, IUS/09, IUS/14, SPS/01, SPS/02, SPS/03, SPS/04, M-STO/04). The non-EU webpage instead words the same rule as '40 ECTS of the previous study programme has to refer to at least two of the following areas: Sociology; Economics and Statistics; Law, Political science, Social policy; History, Anthropology, Psychology, Social Psychology and Pedagogics' - the two formulations are equivalent in spirit but not literally identical . For international qualifications the President of the programme evaluates whether the applicant's study plan meets the entry requirements; for candidates not fulfilling the curricular requirements the Evaluation Committee may take into account other academic and extra-academic activities, request further documents, or hold a selection interview. Europeans and equivalents who are short of curricular credits can enrol in 'Single Courses for Master's Degrees' and pass the corresponding exams before the registration deadline. PERSONAL BACKGROUND: 'a personal background with suitable professional vocational and academic experience appropriate to the nature of the degree course'. PLACES AND QUOTA: free access (no cap) for Europeans and equivalents; strictly 6 places for non-EU nationals living abroad (dual citizens holding an EU citizenship are treated as European). ACTUAL 2026/2027 NON-EU COMPETITION: the ranking list published 29 April 2026 lists 139 applicants; only the top 6 (scores 96, 96, 94, 93, 93, 93) were admitted, the top 2 with a scholarship, so the effective cut-off was 93/100 while candidates scoring 92 were 'eligible not admitted'. TRANSFERS: a transfer from another university or course is possible only on positive evaluation by the selection committee; admission directly to year 2 requires a credit-transfer pre-evaluation recognising at least 50 credits (form to mastersrs@unitn.it by 15 February 2026, answer by 15 March 2026). DOUBLE DEGREES (post-enrolment, not an admission route): Tilburg University (NL), Universitat Pompeu Fabra Barcelona (ES), Universitat Bamberg (DE), Karl-Franzens-Universitat Graz (AT).
Dil yeterliliği
English at CEFR level B2 or higher is the only language requirement; no Italian is required for admission or enrolment. Proof is accepted in four ways, identical for both applicant categories: (1) an English language qualification awarded by an internationally recognised entity, from the CLA (Centro Linguistico di Ateneo) list of certificates accepted for admission to study programmes (point 2 of that list, https://www.cla.unitn.it/en/node/780)
(2) self-declaration in the online application of citizenship of an English-speaking country
(3) self-declaration that the Bachelor's or Master's degree obtained was officially taught entirely in English (the non-EU webpage words this as 'final diploma of a Bachelor or Master course entirely held in English')
Sınav / değerlendirme
No entrance examination: there is no TOLC, no SAT, no GRE and no written admission test of any kind. EUROPEANS AND EQUIVALENTS: requirements are simply verified; the only possible oral step is an admission interview with the President of the programme, required only if the Bachelor's final grade is below 90/110 or equivalent (Student Support puts the candidate in touch with the President). NON-EUROPEANS: a documentary selection by an Admissions Committee of three members of the SSR teaching staff (which may meet by video conference), scoring each application out of 100 points: academic background and reference letter max 45 points (Bachelor's final mark, weighted average, other curricular activities, publications, professional experience, internships and voluntary work, knowledge of English, reference letters); statement of purpose max 20 points (clarity, strength of motivation, relevance to the course, ability shown in English, originality); relevance of previous studies and experience to the course objectives max 35 points (previous background in methodology and social research is explicitly valued). A score of 50/100 or more makes a candidate 'suitable'; ties are broken in favour of the youngest candidate. An interview (in person or conference call) is discretionary - held 'only if the Selection Committee requires to collect further information on applicants' academic skills and personal competencies'; the Committee may also interview or request extra documents from a candidate lacking an English certificate, or from a candidate not fulfilling the curricular requirements. A separate optional English test at the CLA exists for EU/equivalent applicants who cannot otherwise prove B2 (six sessions during 2026, written part in person in Trento, speaking part online).
3. Hazırlanacak belgeler
NON-EUROPEANS (uploaded to the Apply portal, entry Socio2026nonEU, by the call deadline; an official translation is required for any document not in English or Italian; illegible documents are disregarded and incomplete applications are excluded): (a) copy of passport - personal-information pages only - for non-EU citizens, or identity card, unless logging in with a recognised Italian digital identity
(b) copy of the Bachelor's degree certificate or a registration certificate attesting the expected graduation date (Italian students or students enrolled at an Italian university may use a self-declaration under DPR 445/2000; not required for UniTrento students)
(c) transcript of records listing all courses, exams, academic disciplines (SSD) and marks, with the weighted average mark and the minimum-to-maximum mark range, GPA expressed in percentage (e.g. 75/100 or 75%) and the mark scale of the awarding university - a self-certification template (DOC) is provided for students enrolled at Italian universities
1) ACCESS LIMITATION AND METHOD: corsi.unitn.it, www.unitn.it and offertaformativa.unitn.it are behind a WAF/CDN that returns HTTP 405, 403 or 503 to direct fetches. No bot protection was bypassed. The corsi.unitn.it pages were therefore read from Internet Archive snapshots retrieved with the 'id_' raw-replay prefix: programme page 17 August 2026, admission for Europeans and equivalents 15 April 2026, admission for non-Europeans 18 May 2026, overview and programme-documents pages 15 April 2026, GAGS admission page 15 April 2026, and the English call PDF snapshot of 20 May 2026. The 2026/2027 non-EU ranking list PDF and the www.unitn.it fees page for English-taught master's degrees are not in the Archive and were read through a text-extraction proxy (r.jina.ai) that returns the original official document unaltered - content and URLs are official, only the transport was indirect. orienta.unitn.it and webapps.unitn.it responded normally to direct requests. Any amendment published on the live site after the snapshot dates - in particular between mid-August and today, 31 August 2026 - would not be reflected here. 2) A.Y. COVERAGE: 2026/2027 is the most recent officially published year and its EU/equivalent application window (to 11 December 2026) is still open at the date of research; the non-EU window (closed 4 March 2026) is historical. No 2027/2028 call had been published for this programme as of 31 August 2026, so application_deadline_non_eu is marked uncertain for anyone planning the next cycle - the admission page only says such calls are 'usually open from December to March'. 3) TWO DIFFERENT WORDINGS OF THE CURRICULAR REQUIREMENT: the binding call states 40 ECTS split between the 'sociological area' and 'core disciplines' with a 12 + 12 ECTS minimum and lists the exact Italian SSD codes, while the non-EU webpage states 40 ECTS across 'at least two of' four broader area labels. They are meant to express the same rule but are not literally identical; the call (and, for foreign degrees, the President of the programme's individual evaluation) prevails. academic_requirements is flagged for this reason. 4) TEMPLATE ERROR IN THE PUBLISHED DOCUMENT LIST: the non-EU admission webpage lists 'Syllabi of courses belonging to academic disciplines INF/01 and/or ING-INF/05 (not required for students graduated in Computer Science)' among the documents to upload. INF/01 and ING-INF/05 are computer-science SSDs and this item appears nowhere in the call; it is almost certainly copy-pasted from a computer-science programme page. The same page also repeats the English B2 item twice. required_documents is flagged accordingly; applicants should follow the call's list and, if in doubt, email mastersrs@unitn.it. 5) TYPOGRAPHICAL YEAR ERRORS IN THE ENGLISH CALL: Art. 5.5 of the 2026/2027 English call says students 'will have to enroll by 30 September 2025', 'by 8 November 2025' and that non-Europeans must be in Trento 'by 30 September 2025', with an exceptional postponement to '31 October 2025'. These are evidently carried over from the previous year's text and should read 2026; the webpage instead says enrolment is 'within the deadline communicated by UniTrento Staff'. The Italian bando is the binding version and was not read, so the exact 2026/2027 enrolment dates for non-Europeans are not stated with certainty here. 6) BINDING VERSION NOT READ IN FULL: all call content quoted above comes from the English document explicitly labelled '(English translation) The only binding version is the Italian one'. bando-ammissione-lm-ssr-non-eu-26-27_1.pdf was located and linked but not retrieved; any discrepancy resolves in favour of the Italian text. 7) SECOND CALL: Art. 5.1 of the call refers in passing to candidates 'admitted through the second call', but no second non-EU selection round is announced for this programme on any published page, and the ranking list of 29 April 2026 filled all 6 places at a 93/100 cut-off, so no second round appears to have been needed for 2026/2027. The clause looks like boilerplate shared with other UniTrento calls. 8) NO EU-SIDE DOCUMENT LIST: the admission page for Europeans and equivalents publishes no explicit list of documents to upload - the process is a requirements-verification application on Apply followed by instructions emailed by Student Support. The EU-side portion of required_documents is therefore inferred from the requirements themselves rather than quoted from a list. 9) SHARED APPLY ENTRY: the 11 December 2026 EU deadline is not specific to SSR - the identical Apply entry RVRCALMSoc26 and identical dates appear on the GAGS (Global Affairs, Geopolitics and Sustainability) admission page, and the note accompanying this research names GAGS/OST/SSR as sharing it. Only GAGS was independently verified; the OST (Organization, Society and Technology) page was not checked. 10) DEPARTMENT SUBDOMAIN: www.sociologia.unitn.it is an official department site within the research scope but was used only for course-listing and handbook context, never as the source of an admission fact. 11) EU TUITION AMOUNTS: for Europeans and equivalents no figures are given here - fees are ISEE-based and calculated individually, and provincial/university scholarships require a separate application each year. Only the non-EU fee brackets (identical in the call and on the fees page) are reported. 12) COMPETITIVENESS CAVEAT: the 93/100 non-EU cut-off and 2 scholarships reported above are the actual 2026/2027 outcome, not a published admission requirement; future cut-offs depend on the applicant pool and may differ.
